Cute little gem. The food was good and our waitress was nice. I wish the food was hotter but other than that, the vibes were great, the food and drinks were great.

Chapel Hill classic 💓 this place has been here my whole life, and it’s been good the whole time. Really delicious desserts, too.

I loved this place. We made a reservation the same day (Friday at 7:30) I liked the atmosphere and our waiter was kind and nice. They give you some hot rolls to start, which I love because most restaurants here never give anything like that for free and I consider it a logical thing to do. We ordered meatballs with mozzarella as a starter (the portion is big and delicious) then pasta with scallops and shrimp and grilled salmon, and I can say it was the best salmon I've ever tasted! To drink IPA beer and basil gin! (Very well served) unfortunately we had no more room for dessert but we ordered a "carajillo", the waiter mentioned that they had no licor 43 and came to our table accompanied by the bar man who prepared us a drink that was close to the carajillo, different taste but really good. I highly recommend eating here, everything is perfect! Despite the demand for parking, we found a parking space across the street and the parking is only open from 6am to 8pm after is free

Went here for my wife’s 30th, couldn’t ask for a better ascetic and environment for an occasion. Wine and dessert were excellent too !

Old-school standby. Haven't visited here in 20+ years, but it's as good as I remember. It's like coming home. Solid food, solid service from Lili and great vibe. There is a reason this place has outlasted many others. We loved our flatbread, chicken parm and meatballs! Do not overthink this place. Order your comfort foods and enjoy!

Excellent service, our waitress was very personable, and our food was very well done. Gnocci with salmon and ribeye. We got the dessert sampler which was perfect! Nice decor. Not loud so nice for couples or romantic evening. A few tables out on the street as well.

I can’t say enough good things about our service, food and overall experience from this past weekend. My son graduated from UNC dental school and we had a large party of 15 Friday night for dinner at 411 West. This restaurant exemplifies what customer service should look like. Our waiter, Jarrett, was outstanding. He made sure that our drinks were kept full, our food was brought out in a timely manner and we were aware of all the specials, etc! He took group pictures for us and helped make this out of state mom’s job of coordinating and executing a small party seamless. Thank you 411West for your amazing service!

We had a delicious dinner on a rainy weeknight and had a wonderful experience. Our server Julia was superb and the bar manager Trey was super knowledgeable and steered us to a delicious bottle of Chianti. We'll definitely be back!

Superb restaurant for fun and great food but also great location in Patio Room for a party! My birthday party was a huge success thanks to the great servers, diverse menu and delicious food - especially the Beef Tenderloin! Also The bar is fun with either Zac or Trey in charge. Sensible prices all round ! A Chapel Hill favorite! And the pizza oven …..!!

We enjoyed another terrific evening at 411 West. We like the cheerful environment. The interior is tastefully appointed and spacious. It is filled with guests every time we dine and is quiet enough for conversation. Tonight, we were served by Caroline, who was warm and genuine. She patiently assisted us in selecting our three course dinners. I also had the pleasure of meeting legendary bartender Trae on the advice of a mutual friend. 411 West has good vibes and is one of my favorite places to dine.

An absolute gem — 411 West is out of this world! This restaurant delivers everything you could dream of in an Italian dining experience — gourmet, homemade pastas, fresh and beautiful salads, and a warm, cozy atmosphere that makes you want to stay for hours. Every dish is crafted with such care and flavor that you can taste the passion behind it. I’m especially proud that my cousin is the manager and lead chef here — his dedication to quality and creativity shines through every plate that comes out of the kitchen. Truly one of the best Italian restaurants I’ve ever been to. A must-visit if you’re anywhere near the area! 🍝✨

Great for a quick lunch with a friend. Ths was my first visit, but it definitely will not be my last. Lots of health options to choose from. I love that they have a free olive bar! I got the gyro, with hummus and tabouli. Everything was amazing, I didn't get the chance to really enjoy as I was on the go, but I absolutely recommend.

I've been a fan of the Med Deli for many years now, but I hadn’t been able to eat there since they reopened. The new décor is just fabulous, and the food is as great as ever. Their foul mudammas is my favorite. Yamil, the owner, is so nice and friendly, and he truly cares about his employees. This place is definitely a staple in Chapel Hill. So glad it’s back!!!

When I first moved to Chapel Hill, I kept hearing about how tragic it was that Med Deli had burned down, and how much everyone missed their food. I figured it was a local establishment with some prestige with good food, but would likely be your average mediterranean restaurant. This place is so much more than that. When you walk into to this absolutely massive restaurant, you'll find glass display cases of the most scrumptious food you can imagine. Olive oil and pickled accoutrement fill the middle, all free for the taking. Once you get to the cashier, prepare to write down everything you want. It's all good, and you'll want to try it all. Most of all, this place offers some of the best mediterranean food of my entire life, at a price that I can afford on one income. The staff is friendly, the atmosphere is exciting, and did I mention the food? You've gotta try the food. PS: For anyone gluten free or vegetarian, this place is heaven. Most of the entrees or vegetarian, and for my gf husband, he can always get a delicious pita.

Found this place from a Content creator and TikTok and the next day my Wife and I decided to give the place a try. When we walked in we were a little confused on how the place worked, but its your standard order at the counter and they bring the food to you. I ordered the Lumpia with Grilled skewers entree, while my wife ordered the potstickers with steak Gyro. The Lumpia was phenomenal and the grilled chicken skewers were the same. I absolutely adored the sour green sauce that came with it. It cut through the savoriness greatly. I highly recommend this place if you're looking for a new place to try!

My partner and I went to Med Deli for the first time and had a little mix-up at the counter (it totally could’ve been our error). The wrong sides came out with the gyro platter. We asked one of the servers about it, and he was super nice. He asked what we were expecting and quickly brought out a replacement. I didn’t catch his name exactly — I think it was Jay (or maybe J or Jon?) — but he was so considerate and kind. We really appreciated it. Thanks so much!

I heard nothing but good about Mediterranean Deli in the past on visits. I wanted to dine-in, but they were only doing catering after a large fire about two years (?) back. I visited with friends after their reopening and was very glad we did! THE FOOD IS FRESH, HEALTHY, APPETIZING AND DELICIOUS! I haven't gone shopping in their grocery store yet, but I'll definitely be back to shop soon.

A Sunday lunch, there's a short wait at the queue line, about 10 minutes or so outside. This place reopened recently and was featured in local news, and definitely has some buzz. Ordered two mix platters of Gyro & Chicken with a choice of 2 sides. Feels like to many choices for the sides... I had an avocado salad with feta and a chicken salad with grapes. Food is excellent, what can I say. You have a sauce station of sort, for refills. I had rose water tea, loved it; fountain drinks seem to be complimentary. Friend ordered a desert, Lemon Cello cake, said it was great. A bit loud of chatter when full. Parking can be an issue at times, there is a paid lot across the street, left of McDs. Overall, very satisfied with this meal experience, and will be back.

Dear Jamil, We stopped by today and were moved to see Mediterranean Deli buzzing again...full of life, good food, and community. It’s clear that Chapel Hill has dearly missed this staple, and seeing your place so busy felt like a homecoming for the whole town. After the fire that closed the restaurant, watching you rebuild with such grit, grace, and care has been genuinely inspiring. Your resilience, and the loyalty of your team and customers—speaks volumes about the heart you’ve poured into this place over the years. Thank you for being more than a restaurant. You’ve created a gathering place where students, families, and neighbors feel welcome and cared for. Your success is well deserved, and we couldn’t be happier to see you thriving again. As fellow small business owners and neighbors, we have know you for a long time... we’re cheering you on. If there’s ever anything we can do—whether it’s lending a hand or just being there as friends... With admiration and gratitude, Boer Brothers Heating & Cooling Jeff, Bryan David Boer

What an amazing find it is!! They put an insane amount or food on the plate at a cheap rate, and it's not possible to finish a whole dish alone. There is sitting both indoors and outdoors. It's very happening with a decent number of people. The variety of food is overwhelming, haha. The chicken tagine is delicious. The date pistachio is too good. Will return to explore all other options!!

I recently visited Mediterranean Deli, Bakery, and Catering, and I must say, it was an exceptional experience. From the moment I walked in, I was impressed by the warm and inviting ambiance, the beautiful decor, and the friendly staff. First off, the food was outstanding. I tried several dishes, and each one was bursting with flavor, fresh, and expertly prepared. The falafel was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, the hummus was creamy and flavorful, and the tabbouleh was light and refreshing. Next up, I had some of their desserts, which were out of this world. The baklava was flaky, sweet, and perfectly balanced, and the cakes were moist, rich, and delicious. The service at Mediterranean Deli, Bakery, and Catering was exceptional, with the staff being knowledgeable, attentive, and friendly. I appreciated how they took the time to explain the different dishes and make sure I had a memorable experience. Overall, I highly recommend Mediterranean Deli, Bakery, and Catering to anyone looking for a delicious and authentic Mediterranean dining experience. The ambiance is warm and inviting, the food and desserts are outstanding, and the staff is exceptional. I would give this restaurant five stars and will definitely be returning soon

You could literally hate almost every kind of food and still find something to eat here. That's how much diversity they have on the menu. Easily the largest selection of Mediterranean food that I've ever seen and very well prepared. It can get very busy. I'm from Florida and everytime we're in the area we are here we have to stop multiple times and we still never eat the same thing twice. Highly recommended.

They say you should never meet your idols; maybe the same can be said for your favorite restaurants from decades ago. 411 West was one of my favorite restaurants during my undergrad and dental school days in Chapel Hill from 1990 -1998. I thought it was really fine dining (and maybe it was). When we arrived at the Carolina Inn for our daughter’s orientation, I was pleasantly surprised to learn it’s still open and suggested it for dinner. We were moderately disappointed by the food, although I thoroughly enjoyed their Peach & Prosciutto Pizza. That was by far the best entree, and the Crème Brûlée was very good as well. The Wood-Grilled Tenderloin was perfectly cooked but over-charred on one side and quite under-seasoned. It needed a fair amount of salt & pepper. My wife’s Wood-Grilled Salmon was similarly under-seasoned, even though it was also cooked to the perfect tenderness. She did enjoy the mashed potatoes. Service, location, and atmosphere were great, but most of the food didn’t have much flavor.

Cynthia Lammertsma

An outstanding meal in the sunroom adjacent to the main restaurant. Lovely appetizers of grilled Brussels sprouts, bacon wrapped shrimp (which were almost finished before I could catch them on camera). Several lovely main courses: wood grilled salmon, beef tenderloin, shrimp pasta, and fresh basil pesto pasta. The sunroom did get a little chilly when the sun went down, which is the only criticism I have.

I
Isabella Grandic

The good: super nice service, quaint seating area, flourless chocolate cake was DIVINE with the raspberry sorbet. Artichoke dip w focaccia was a good starter: Comments: pasta was bland and a bit cold. Pesto had no flavour and the texture of the noodles just felt tiring ?? Salad didn’t have enough dressing but the parts that did were nice. Crème brûlée was tiring and needed more caramel. Tiramisu was a bit tough and I think it needed more balance. Also I have 0 clue why the chef would add cream to the cake and sorbet. Server deserves a huge shoutout for being epic. Impressed with speed and big group service! The other meals — like the steak and salmon — looked far better done than the pastas.

Have visited here twice for dinner. During our first visit the food was excellent; unfortunately, the second visit fell far short of the first. Expect it was our menu choises. Had the Capellini Bolognese during the first visit...it was amazing and reminded me on my mom's. We may return for that, or to try the pizza!

Downtown Chapel Hill Italian style cafe with a decent wine list and a good food menu. Food was very good and worth having again albeit the typical dishes you’d expect from an American Italian place. Service was great!

Med Deli is a local favorite with its large variety of over 140 rotating deli case items including many vegan and gluten free options, brought to you at a very affordable price. For its class and location it's a good choice for fresh Mediterranean food. I'd go for the falaphal, hummus, and maybe a few of the vegetable sides which are done pretty well. Much of the food is average, underwhelming and nothing to write home about. Stear clear of the American deserts where the cheapness of the ingredients (no cheaper than your average mid tier American restaurant) is the most aparent. If I were comparing this food to your Turkish, Greek or Palesinian grandmother's cooking made with fresh whole foods it would get a D minus. But in Chapel Hill NC where people love Chipotle it's really kind of nice. All in all if you find yourself on Franklin Street and in need of a moderately healthy lunch that won't break the bank med deli is a solid choice.

What can I say about this cafe? The location is great, the food is good, and the service is OK. Our first time being here, but I was expecting a warmer greeting at the door. Maybe a little more "Amore", and less "Impersonale", this would help make a lasting first impression. I would highly recommend that this cafe train their staff on the true definition of scallops and not tell any vegetarian that scallops are onions, that advice doesn't bid well for specific dietary restrictions. Unfortunately, Gnocchi is only a starter, so order 2 or move on to an actual entree. The lasagna is large and in charge and will fill you up, but unfortunately, unlike an authentic Italian restaurant, there will be no bread to soak up the sauce. An espresso and vanilla creme brulee here are definitely a safe bet. Cheers!

I have dined at 411 for over 20 years. I usually get the lemon linguine w/ white clam sauce etc.. tonight I got pasta with red broth. I questioned myself and finally said something. I was told the broth was darker. Needless to say due to such a high acidic sauce my dinner did not stay down. Very disappointed.

Subpar food experience. Waitress was pleasant and friendly but never kept us filled with refills and other needs. Really needs to update and expand their menu. It was an odd evening but enjoyable with family. Food SAS the biggest disappointment, while not bad, just outdated and what ee did order was bland and tasteless. Definitely could use refreshing menu change.

My daughter and I just had lunch for the 1st time here. We ordered 3 things…chicken gyro, fattoush salad and a lentil soup. The gyro was flavorful but was made with chicken strips rather than sliced meat off the spit and hard to eat. I had to return the salad. It was watery, tomatoes were old and dressing was definitely not a traditional fattoush salad. The Lentil soup was over lemony. Amber at the counter was not very polite and gave a cold vibe. Didn’t say hello when we walked up and or thank you which I then reciprocated. Just for the record I live in the Middle East and eat this food all the time. I would not go back.
