Opinions de Tacos El Niño Chapel Hill
I tried this restaurant last night, I liked the speed of the order, it didn't take long, and the food is delicious, but the quesadilla had a lot of cheese, which covered up the flavor of the chicken. The tacos were very delicious, and they served a lot of appetizers with the meal. The place is great and clean, and there are tables to sit in. I liked the lady who works there a lot, she is very helpful. I recommend it 👍🏻
Best tacos I've had in North Carolina.. I think personally 99% of the tacos I've had in this state were terrible by the standards set from my home state... but these are by far the best I've had since arriving here 5 years ago. They use double tortilla which most places sell their tacos at like $3-6 and give you one tortilla with soggy either salty or flavorless meat. These guys are great especially for the price.
Tacos are packed with filling and double tortilla’d!! I ordered asada, pollo, and barbacoa- I wish they were more juicy overall, but would definitely get asada again. I think pollo was bit more dry than the others. Ample amounts of cilantro and onion provided. The grilled onions they add are so scrumptious.
If you love tacos and burritos, do yourself a favor and go to this taco truck. The food is amazingly delicious! Every bite is filled with flavor this food is cooked and seasoned so beautifully. Your taste buds and stomach will thank you!
I have only tried the tortas here so maybe I will update the review once I have tried some other dishes. When I first ordered the torta, I thought the price was a little high compared to what I was used to. Then when I opened the takeout box I was SHOCKED at how huge it was. It filled the entire container, would easily feed 4 people if you ordered some sides. The bread was yummy - grilled on the outside, fluffy and chewy on the inside. The fillings were good, definitely needed to have some spicy salsa added but I guess there are a lot of people here who won't eat spicy food. Looking forward to my next visit.
Meat is fresh and daily. Ingredients like tomatoes and limes are cut daily as well. Yes I do work there and it's amazing. If you get a big order we give you free drinks and if it's your first time we give you a free taco or a free drink!💜 Great service as well💕 If you go often you also get something free as a thank you.
Really tasty tacos at insanely low prices. The folks working the truck are really nice and the food is authentic. Burritos, torta, tacos and other choices generously filled with pastor, chorizo, lengua, asada and a few others too. Quick, delicious, affordable and friendly - can't go wrong!
Great food truck food. Shrimp tortas were delicious, if a little greasy. Chips and salsa were well seasoned and pleasingly crunchy. Mexican hot chocolate tastes like a churro sauce! Only drawback: communication with server was difficult
Very dry meats. seasoning is inconsistent.
Food was quite honestly not good quality. They tried to pass off salsa with a bit of avocado in it as "guacamole", and when I pointed out it was not guac, they said they didn't have enough good avocados. But they could have told me that when I ordered it or offered a refund or free soda or something. But no. Chicken burrito was not horrible, but probably one of that worst I've had in recent memory. Chicken ground into a fine mush instead of cubed, so no texture. Lettuce and tomato on the side which was totally useless. Burritos are usually pretty hard to screw up. Staff was friendly and service was fast enough, but due to the quality, I will not be returning.
$10 for a veggie burrito (with no beans or any other protein!) is pretty steep, and it automatically came with cheese and sour cream despite them not being mentioned in the description, which is unfortunate since many people are vegan and/or lactose intolerant. I do appreciate that they were willing to remake it for me without the cheese/sour cream, but it was a shame I had to waste food (they had me give the burrito back to be tossed in the trash instead of letting me give it to my friends), and despite the large portion size I was quite unsatisfied with my burrito, especially for the price. It could’ve been greatly improved by adding beans or vegan meat, and I wish they had mentioned that it comes with cheese and sour cream. The service was fast and friendly though! :)
Went here Saturday night and got quesa birria and 7 other tacos. I *love* Mexican food, particularly tacos. The chicharron tacos were pretty good, not great but satisfying enough. The birria was only decent, the meat was chewy. The pollo taco was mediocre, a little flavor but the meat was dry. The rest of the tacos (cabeza, asada, buche) were flavorless *and* dry. All around disappointing because I'd heard some good things from friends so decided to overlook the reviews that talked about blandness. Don't make the same mistake I did. Next time I want late night tacos, I'd eat Taco Bell over these. At least I wouldn't be spending over $30.
Food taste good, unfortunately they put every plate in the microwave before sending it out the window. Why.?? It just seems like they have it pre cooked and then they make the tacos and heat it up in the microwave. Never will go back. That’s a disgrace to serving food to people
I purchased 2 tortas and 2 quesadillas. The quesadillas were expensive. $8 for meat with no flavor and a store bought flour tortilla with cheese. I have purchased cheaper(5$) quesadillas that taste way better and with hand made tortillas, and the cheese was melted all the way through. The tortas that I bought only had meat mayonnaise and lettuce, which honestly sucks because I expected more flavor. I will say that I did like the bread that was used.
Worst chicken quesadilla I’ve ever had. Chicken tasted like it came out of a can. Never left a review somewhere before that’s how awful it was.
The tongue tacos were BLAND and FLAVORLESS!! Worst tacos ever. I don’t think they put any seasoning whatsoever in them. Store bought tortillas that were probably microwaved warm. No salsa given for tacos. Quesabirrias were slightly better but barely. Would not waste my money here again. Honestly wish I could get the bland nasty flavor out of my mouth 🤮
My boyfriend and I stopped at this taco truck Friday night. I woke up out my sleep at 3am with diarrhea that continued all morning long and the whole next day. I ate chicken taco and half of shrimp quesadilla . This was the only thing I ate that night. I have been having to use the bathroom ever since. I’m also 35 weeks pregnant so that isn’t good. I went in my fridge to inspect left over food and realized the shrimp was not even cooked all the way. Pictures attached! I’m praying I don’t get listeria. I will be reporting to health department. $30 wasted.
These tacos had NO FLAVOR AT ALLLL. OMG I have NEVER tasted anything so bland in my life. I even tried to fix it up with other toppings I had at home so I wouldn't have to throw it away but it didn't work. I took 2 bites and had to throw the whole plate away anyway. It couldn't be saved. BUT on the other had if you are super hungry late night and don't want to worry about long lines or the taste of your food this is the place for you.
