Perfect location to start the day exploring Chattanooga arts district. Welcoming, helpful staff and lovely environment to enjoy a tasty breakfast. It had been a long time since we’d had fried bologna, so I requested it as a replacement for my breakfast potatoes side for the vegetable and goat cheese omelette. The fresh fruit plate, drizzled with honey and sprinkled with toasty granola was refreshing. The fresh flowers on the table are a tasteful touch. Our waiter, Chase gave us great service and good suggestions for our walk—thru the sculpture garden, over the Veterans Bridge, past the interesting shops on the north bank, and back across the river over Market bridge.

I’ve only visited Whitebird for breakfast, but each experience has been wonderful! The prices are very fair, and you’re able to get beautiful, high quality food at a price that is affordable. There are several other spots around the city that have synonymous prices, but Whitebird’s quality and creativity is on a different level. The dishes I’ve ordered have always been well balanced between flavors, filling portions, and beautifully plated. I would most definitely recommend ordering something to be shared at your table as well, as those dishes are typically my favorite. I did not get a photo, but the ricotta and stone fruit tartine was incredible. Thank you for making great eating in Chattanooga feasible for many!

We have been here for brunch and for dinner and both times were amazing. They went above and beyond to make our meals special for our days. We will definitely be back here as it is now one of my favorite restaurants. The restaurant itself is so beautiful inside.

First of all, I would like to thank all the staff of Whitebird for the magical night for dinner. This restaurant is on the first floor of the Edwin Hotel right next to the Walnut Street bridge, Hunter Museum, and all the romantic spots in the art district. With this type of setting, you know the night will be magical. Extra points for whoever came up with the idea to out see through igloo"s just outside the restaurant patio next to the bridges. Yes, you are reading that correctly. You can spend a romantic dinner in a see-through igloo with white lights and all the night sky in an intimate, darker setting. You only find two of these, so i would book in advance for this special venue. My date and I absolutely loved the decor, atmosphere, staff, and the food. I have a gluten allergy to Wheat, and all the staff went out of their way to make sure my night was perfect with no cross-contamination. The owner, manager, and all the staff were top-notch for a true white glove fine dining should be. Now to the food. I ordered the salad, thinking it would be on the smaller side. Nope, it was a large portion and amazing flavor with ingredients not used much in salads you would find at a restaurant. This was a real chef cooked/ prepared to order. Next, we had the grilled chicken mini sliders with a sauce that was delicious to dip into. I'm not sure what it was, but wow, it made the flavors come out more. I also got the garlic mashed potatoes. This was definitely my favorite with just the right amount of ingredients and fresh potatoes, not instant garage, like some restaurants try to pass as mashed potatoes. Nope, nothing but the best and finest quality of food, cooked to order Cordon Bleu chef. They had a gluten free buns, so I got a grilled chicken sandwich that was delicious. The evening was nothing less but magical with the sunset going down the stung lights in the igloo. Dinner was just perfect and a nice walk on the bridges to in the evening. I would highly recommend this restaurant and experience for your next romantic dinner date. Don't take my word for it make. Go see for yourself the magic that awaits. Would I recommend this restaurant? Absolutely Would I return? Absolutely

Awesome food and service. We celebrated our anniversary and had a great dinner. We started with the pork belly (mouthwatering good) and crab cheese dip. I had the fillet, which was so juicy and tender with several different mushrooms, including a “chicken of the woods,” which has a texture like chicken, the vegetables and mashed potatoes was very good, spouse had the venison, he liked it very much, I tried a bite had definitely agree. And desert of crème brûlée which is my absolute favorite dessert and was so good.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about this restaurant. I came here almost one year ago in 2021 for brunch, which exceeded my expectations. Came back with my family for the dinner menu in 2022 and was delighted with the consistency. Every dish looked and tasted as amazing as it sounded on the menu. My 10 and 8 year olds enjoyed sharing in the adult menu options, and my husbands refined pallet was delighted as well. All of the staff are exceptional and our waiter, Joe, couldn't have been more of a gentleman. Our cocktails were tasty, desert was divine, and the atmosphere was beautiful. 10/10.

Didn't expect to find elevated dining this good outside of a major city. Whitebird was phenomenal. Every dish was well composed with amazing flavors. The salad is comparable to something you'd find in California. Their smash burger was crisped to perfection. Their spreads are also a little festival of flavors. Service was outstanding, attentive and warm. Prices are reasonable, too. We were all super jazzed to have eaten here. Definitely coming back the next time we're back in Chattanooga 👏

I really liked the food and drinks here. It’s southern fare done very well and a bit fancified. The only thing I wasn’t a fan of was the peach blackberry crumble. My favorite part of the crumble is the crumble, the oats and brown sugar that have absorbed the fruit juices. Their crumble was missing the crumble. The peaches and blackberries and ice cream were very sweet and there was nothing to balance it. Other than that the dishes all had great flavor balance. I wish the server had checked on us just a bit more frequently but other than that service was also excellent.

The crab dip is 👀👃🏾👅👌🏾. It’s in a great walkable location in proximity to many different gems in the city. Everything we had was great. The cortado was great. The omelette was silky and light. The crab dip was well… fantastic and will have you licking the cast iron pan! They also have great mimosa options on the menu to fulfill your brunch fantasy’s. Parking can be a chore but it’s really worth it. It’s at the bottom of the Edwin Hotel and right at the end of the Walnut St Bridge which provides a great location for walking off your brunch.

My friend and I are in town and we’re having a hard time finding somewhere dairy and gluten-free to eat. We sat down at the bar to figure out where we wanted to go and the bartender, Chris, said he could make us a hummus and veggie platter with gluten-free bread. The chef even came out and talked to us and the food was great. Chris also made me an incredible mocktail. 🍹

We so enjoyed our dinner at Whitebird!! Kenny, our waiter, was so just kind and wonderful. And the food and drinks were amazing!! This is our first visit to Chattanooga, and definitely will return to this restaurant! Beautiful setting, and our 2.5 year old ate more than she ever has while eating out! I couldn’t have been happier. The filet was AMAZING! My husband loved the Harvest Salad with chicken. Everyone was so kind. Thank you, all!

This was my first experience at the Whitebird for Brunch with my daughter here in my hometown of Chattanooga located within the Edwin Hotel. The atmosphere is amazing, the staff very welcoming and the food was beyond expectations. I was greeted by the GM Roy and one of the chefs Stan. Our server Max is a delight. He made sure we were well taken care of from beginning to end. Roy the General Manager started our experience off with a very tasty plate of freshly made biscuits with an assortment of toppings and a fresh fruit plate. This will definitely be my go to spot when I'm here in Chattanooga. Thank you to the Whiteburd for a phenomenal experience.

Let’s be honest, expectations are typically low when it comes to dining at a hotel restaurant. Well, Whitebird will give you a run for your money and make you re-think the assumption hotel restaurants are mediocre. Our server, Kyle, provides excellent recommendations based on the fact I am a vegetarian and my wife was looking for a hearty dish sans chicken. For our appetizer, we had the biscuits which were large, yet dense. The sorghum and jellys were outstanding! My wife ordered the short rib gnocchi and I had a salad and the macaroni and cheese for dinner. The portions were large and the food was well-seasoned. We arrived about an hour before the restaurant closed and never felt rushed or that we were imposing. All in all, Whitebird can give any of the fine dining restaurants in the area major competition!

Our food was delicious! There was a reasonable wait time between ordering and receiving food. The pancakes were huge!

Definitely upscale dining- the setting was gorgeous overlooking the bridge. Service was impeccable and incredibly fast. We never had a need as they were met before even asking. The drinks were unique and so delicious. The food- where do I even start. The filet was delicious and perfectly cooked to my liking, not the cooks. And the accompaniments- garlic mashed, peppers, shrooms and squash- my mouth is watering just thinking of it. My date quickly regretted his burger, however stated it was delicious! The money spent was well worth every single penny. Portion sizes were larger than I was expecting, but not complaining. If you are considering Whitebird, RUN, don’t walk to this delectable establishment and spoil yourself with fabulous service and food!

Great atmosphere, affordable and delicious food. Service was exceptionally good. I recommend the hot chicken sandwich or the brisket biscuit. But whatever you choose, I am certain it will be worth the trip.

Well organized, clean throughout. Even in the mist of having limited staff (2 servers) this restaurant maintained exceptional attention to detail. The food was delicious. The staff was very attentive. Also the restrooms were clean and well stocked. Keep up the excellent work!

One of the very best Easter brunch selections in 50 miles of Chattanooga. The tenderloin and smoked turkey were wonderful and worth the price of admission. The biscuit and waffles were dry and not acceptable as southern selections; the fried chicken was subpar. The staff are attentive and helpful. Be careful as the public advertising included gratuity in the price but the menu indicates that it is not included. The restaurant is contemporary and chic’ it would be great if the restaurant had the view found in the bar. Valet is the way to go for parking as spaces are limited.

Absolutely had a wonderful time at breakfast and a late night treat at Whitebird with Chris! He was lovely to talk to and provided excellent and prompt service for my mother and I. Thank you Chris! (Peach Crisp and Seasonal Tart)

This place has quickly risen to be one of our favorite spots in Chattanooga. The menu is great, staff is super nice and knowledgeable, and they can turn just about any dish into a vegan dish. They have a nice little kids menu too. The decor is beautiful, and the bartender is great! He makes a mean Aviation!

Great at social distancing... most importantly great food! Elegant and reasonably priced for a high end restaurant. I saved a picture of desert which was decadent and delicious. Carrot cake with bee pollen, honeycomb and fresh honey. Unique enough to be memorable but still didnt depart too much from the genuine familiar cake. Its worth the trip but go give someone local and elegant your business... they even do takeout! @whitefish restaurant- thank you for a wonderful anniversary atmosphere for my wife and I!

What a wonderful place. We needed a quick respite before the Boat Christmas parade and fireworks. Bay was accommodating and Kenny was an excellent server with great recommendations for a quick bite and drink. We will be back when time allows for the full entree experience!

Our home is Asheville NC, and we are on our way to a wedding. Eating here was like being in your mother's kitchen and finally letting down. We literally ate every bite...the scallops were seared to perfection and lots of fresh veggies! So nice watching the sunset, too. Thank you, Josh, Lesha, and your chefs for the generous hospitality and the bread pudding on the house.

Another great addition to Chattanooga’s restaurant scene. We parked at Bluff View, had a drink at Whiskey Thief, and ended our day with a delicious meal at Whitebird! It’s a beautiful space, in a gorgeous location, with great service and delicious food! We had a lovely experience here and will definitely come back!

Excellent experience, delicious food, fantastic atmosphere! Thoroughly enjoyed the aesthetic of architecture, design, and open style view of the bridge. Highly recommend Chris if you're looking for creative drink concoctions to match your palette preferences! He won't disappoint!

While staying at the Edwin, we enjoyed a lovely dinner here. The space is beautiful and comfortable. The service was impeccable, and the food and drinks were delicious! We enjoyed cocktails, appetizers, a main meal, and dessert. While everything we consumed here was excellent, our stand out dishes were the appetizer of mussels and the smoked venison meal, both recommended by the staff. We were impressed with the food quality and pleased with the price. In addition an attentive, knowledgeable, and pleasant staff surely does increase the value of any dining experience. We hope to return!

10/10 dining experience! We ordered the biscuits appetizer and these were seriously the best biscuits either of us had ever had. Incredible butter, 2 different kinds of jelly, and an apple butter. Then for dinner I ordered the duck "whitebird" meal in hopes of something I had never had before - the unique vegetable hash was hearty and delicious (even dabbled with the extra apple butter to add some sweetness with great success) and the duck was very palatable. Very wonderful dinner. My girlfriend ordered the pork belly small dinner plate and was very surprised to love what she ordered. Our waitress was incredibly positive, detailed, came to the table at the right moments, gave positive insight into dishes we had questions about, and kept our drinks full. Other staff came by the table smiling but not intrusively which we thought was very welcoming. Also, big props to the hostess (I believe her name was Reagan?) for securing us our table on Valentine's Day evening when we needed to change our time to later in the evening. The atmosphere was warm and modern without over-sophistication. Loved that we could see the kitchen staff working methodically in the back. After the experience with the biscuit appetizer we're thrilled to try brunch one day! We will be back!

The service was amazing and the food was delicious. We started with the fried egg yolks, then we had the pork and the filet. Both were so tasty, the filet was super tender. We finished up with the cornbread crumble and the creme brulee.

Reagan was absolutely phenomenal! The wine pairings she suggested were top notch and my husband LOVED his 2nd and Walnut cocktail. My salmon was cooked perfectly and the brussels sprouts are the best I’ve had in a very long time, my husband got the filet and he was raving about it. Make sure to check out this gem when you’re in Chattanooga! We will be back! Thank you, Reagan!

We went on 2/13 for our valentines days dinner and had Josh as our server. He was FANTASTIC!! Our food was amazing and they even brought out a complimentary champagne toast and little chocolates at the end (I’m sure for v-day weekend). Great experience all around.

We had a really nice brunch here. Had the biscuits with sorghum butter, jam and apple butter. One person got the Bennie I believe, a Benedict egg on a fried green tomato. The Belgium waffle with whiskey infused banana foster and spicy chocolate was AMAZING. I have high standards for brunch places and I feel like Chatt is kind of all over the place tryin to find a good one. They delivered here. And the atmosphere was very nice inside the Edwin hotel. Great place for any occasion. Service was great too. Only hiccup was the reservations through the app - they claimed they didn't have us down when I had a confirmation text saying we booked online...and their phone line doesn't give you options to really make a reservation that way.

Great place! When you walk into @whitebirdchattanooga you definitely are transported to an airy restaurant space with white curtains and tiny table arrangements. The food is very tastefully done and the portions are just right. I definitely suggest having a drink, ordering the biscuits and spinach with fries oysters, and having the lamb as your entree. You can't go wrong.

The Whitebird is located on the ground floor of the Edwin Hotel. Not a large menu, However What the Whitebird does, it does well! Beautiful and pristine atmosphere with fantastic local art throughout. I ordered the apple pancakes and my wife, an omelet, neither one disappointed. Our Server was Chase and he is truly top notch, delightful, knowledgeable and promt ( I hope your lucky enough to get him). This would have been a 5 Star experience with a more robust menu.

oh Whitebird…what happened? used to be fairly cutting edge with at least some local game and local flair. I tried the pork belly, which felt like it had been leftover from at least the day before. It was dry and shriveled, the aïoli tasted like it was made from jarred mayonnaise and the hush puppies were so dry as to be not worth the trouble - but the greens were very tasty. I would NOT recommend this dish The trout was a lovely presentation, and the white beans were great! The trout itself, however, was bit on the meager side however the flavor was perfectly acceptable. Outdoor dining was perfect on this evening at 80°F with local talent playing music in the Square… free entertainment always appreciated. The service was OK but slow. The front of house/host was charming and helpful in recommending a martini. all that said, with so many great restaurants in downtown Chattanooga I don’t think this reviewer would go back.

Whitebird was a fantastic dining experience! I started with the Heirloom Cornbread Skillet and Buttermilk Biscuits—both warm, flavorful, and comforting. For my entrée, the Grilled Bone-In Pork Chop was perfectly cooked and delicious, paired beautifully with a refreshing Whiskey Sour. Great food, excellent service, and a cozy atmosphere—I’ll definitely be back!

We went here while staying at the Edwin Hotel which is adjacent to it. Very nice dinner, good service, good quantity of food. Everything was very nicely done. New restaurant, hope they keep up the good work. Would definitely go again if in area. Use the valet parking at hotel and then walk out on bridge after dinner and see the lights.

Beautiful Spot for Brunch – But Be Ready to Wait White Birds is an absolutely stunning restaurant! My family and I chose it for our Easter brunch, and the ambiance did not disappoint—elegant decor, classy atmosphere, and fresh flowers on every table made it feel really special. However, I was surprised by how long the service took, especially since the restaurant was nearly empty. We waited about 20 minutes before anyone came to take our order, and I eventually had to ask another server for help. Our assigned waiter wasn’t very attentive, which was disappointing. That said, the food was wonderful! I had the peach crêpes, and they were fantabulous. Every dish at our table was well-prepared and beautifully presented. Overall, it’s a gorgeous location with great food—just be prepared for slower service. Hopefully they can improve on that, because everything else was lovely. If you found this review helpful, please give it a like and check out some of my other reviews—trying to build up my following and would love your support!

Whitebird has potential. Menu is small and curated which I was looking forward to. Dishes were balanced but in need of salt and the restaurant needs some music outside. Chase, our server, was sweet and accommodating. It was a sleepy Sunday in Chattanooga, so it is safe to say we were pretty confused when it took 15 mins to be greeted at the table. Later we found out that the kitchen and FOH were being stretched to simultaneously cater a rooftop event for the hotel.

Sunday brunch for 5, seated right away with a reservation. It took five minutes to see a waiter. Let me say at the top, sometimes it’s important to distinguish food from service. Though service can make or break a meal, I understand when you catch someone on a bad day….it was that day. Let’s get to the food!! I ordered hot iron crab dip and toast points, fruit bowl and a platter of biscuits with apple and apricot butter. The crab dip was loved by everyone with plenty of crab, appropriately spiced and a hearty portion. We had to order more toast points; too bad they showed up ten minutes later, but I digress. The fruit was super fresh and of the highest quality. The biscuits were some of the best I’ve ever had, period. We ordered the brisket and eggs, scramblers and a couple of eggs Benedict. Since I didn’t sample everyone’s dish, I’ll only speak to the Benedict. As you can see from the pic, very small dollop of hollandaise, the ham was full of fat and leaders. I was forced to cut dabs of meat off and put the inedible portions on the side. Overall the flavor was…meh. I ordered a side of skillet potatoes to go with the Benedict since it doesn’t come with a side, they didn’t arrive with the meal. After flagging down a new waiter, don’t know where the first one wandered off to, I got the potatoes when I had a few bites left. Nevertheless, they were very good! I believe Whitebird has the ambiance and decor nailed. They’re close on the food, the kitchen manager just has to insure execution is consistently up to snuff. I’ll give them another try.

Sadly disappointed with Whitebird.. ordered two entree’s (pork chop and meatloaf), might have been the worst meal we’ve had in years. To add both parties at the table barely took 3 bites of the meal; the distaste was presented to management with only a 15$ comp. Service was quick and kind. Atmosphere was nice! Appetizer (crap dip) 10/10.. I personally would not recommend due to it being my second interaction with bad food.

Let me start out by saying we love the Whitebird, Whiskey Thief & Edwin. We have been to the venues on multiple occasions. I hope this is taken as constructive input! We went with friends on a Tuesday evening before String Theory at the Hunter Museum. We have been to the Whiskey Thief, the best roof top view in all of Chattanooga. We have also been to the Whitebird for what I have described in other reviews as the best Happy Hour in Chattanooga! Unfortunately, the Happy Hour that is currently indicated on your current website no longer exists. It clearly states that Well Drinks, Beer, Wine and Shareables are on the Happy Hour that starts at 4:00. Much to our disappointment we were informed that the kitchen doesn't open until 5:00. PLEASE CHANGE YOUR WEBSITE TO REFLECT THIS! We went to Whiskey Thief, which was fine. And they actually had food. I truly appreciate that the Edwin feels they are special and they probably are but we won't be returning. As a customer it is very frustrating when the website information is inaccurate. And the staff basically tell you that you are wrong. The good news is there are other excellent options for pre concert drinks and food.

The tiny pieces of dark meat turkey, and the one cup of mashed potatoes for four people at dinner was something I wouldn’t have even fed to my dog. All of the food they served was cold. I felt like we got leftovers that had been sitting out all day. The 1 inch width slice of Walnut chocolate pie with a half inch spritz of whipped cream was totally overrated. I would not recommend this for Thanksgiving dinner ever again

S

The food was fair yet came out Cold. Our plates were brought out one at a time. Most everyone was finished before the last persons meal came out. The restaurant was not busy and we weren't informed there was a problem with the oven /grill till we were almost finished. The server seemed a bit annoyed. The manager should have come to the table and addressed the long wait issue, but I suppose since we were kind they felt it was not necessary. I was very disappointed in my experience at Whitebird, and had high expectations after reading previous reviews.

I have enjoyed having dinner and brunch a few times at Whitebird and the last time that we had brunch it was simply incredible so when we wanted to take another couple to celebrate their recent marriage we thought it would be the perfect place. We had all looked at the brunch menu prior to arriving and had pretty much determined what we would order and one of those options (shrimp and grits) had been my brunch choice the last time and they were simply delicious. Well when we were given the brunch menu 3 of the items that each of the guests wanted weren't on the menu and we asked the waitress and she said that the menu had changed and those weren't on it anymore. The brunch menu in my opinion was simply a breakfast menu. The food was good but honestly we could have gone to certain other restaurants and had just as good of a meal. Unfortunately, this experience made us question if we should have picked a different place for the celebration and it certainly made us wonder if we would actually come back. We were very disappointed.

So disappointed, we looked at the menu prior to making reservations, when we sat down our waiter seemed put off when we asked questions about the menu .We ordered eggs, bacon biscuit and potatoes and simply asked for a substitute of the potatoes. He said no and made us feel very uncomfortable. I've never been to a restaurant where there's no substitution. When we received the meal there were eggs potatoes gravy No bacon or biscuit. We sent it back and received eggs potatoes, nothing else.Service was terrible nobody checked on us waited 20mins for a refill and attitude. The other staff members were very nice but will not go back.we frequent brunch resteraunts in chattanooga sat and Sunday every weekend, this by far was the worst one.
