Just had an amazing dinner at La Dolce Vita Cucina in Portage Park! Everything was so fresh and absolutely delicious. The restaurant itself is stunning — such a beautiful place to enjoy a meal. So proud of my friend for helping to create such a gem. If you’re looking for great Italian food and a gorgeous atmosphere, you need to check this place out! Perfect location for just about anything. Getting together with the girls, Lunch or date night .family friendly. Special events. Weather permitting outdoor patio. We tried: FRITTO MISTI RIGATONI BOLOGNESE PENNE ALLA BUTERA LINGUINE FRUTTI DI MARE TIRAMISU DI COCOA PANNA COTTA NOCE DI COCO Full range of cocktails, specialty beers, seasonal drinks and full range of coffee choices.
We came to this neighborhood gem Italian restaurant for lunch today. The dining room is already decorated and had such a cozy and festive atmosphere. The service and the food were top notch! If you are looking for a nice restaurant without high downtown pricing, La Dolce Vita is the perfect place. We’ve dined here twice already and the service was consistently attentive and thoughtful. The restaurant has choices of high tops, booths or regular dining areas, as well as a nice private patio. The chefs in the kitchen not only make delicious food but also pay attention to details to make sure their customers have the best dining experience. Since my husband and I decided to share every dish, they divided every course into two portions and beautifully dished for each. That’s professionalism right there! The salad was dressed perfectly. The pasta and the cacciucco (cioppino) came out piping hot. You can probably see the steam from the photos. The fettuccine was homemade in the restaurant and cooked with a perfect al dente texture and chew to it. The chef really knew how to handle his pasta! And the ragu sauce was flavorful. The meat was not ground but cut into small chunks so they are tender and still have a bite to them! The strawberry, walnut and pistachios gelato with really good biscotti was the perfect dessert to finish this wonderful meal. We will definitely come back again! It’s a great holiday dining option. They will not disappoint!
Went there last night to celebrate my birthday and I had the best experience. The food was delicious, me and my friends wiped our plates clean & the waiters were the sweetest people I ever met. Super cute cozy vibes, food was great & the hospitality was a 10/10. I am definitely coming back & bringing my family here.
We went for restaurant week and really enjoyed the cauliflower soup, wild boar ragu, lobster pasta and steak with fries. The cannoli was the best I have had.
DOG FRIENDLY!!! Main reason we stopped by was that I could bring my Dog....what a hidden gem!! The food was very very tasty, the atmosphere inviting, Rodrigo was friendly and accommodating. They have not rolled out their puppy menu yet but he made something special for her. Sorry the spaghetti was delicious and forgot to take a picture beforehand...a must try. Don't do like we did passing up this restaurant for months - it's definitely so worth a visit. It will not disappoint!
excellent food and services! we loved our ribeye steak and the crab linguine and not to mention the vibes there were immaculate as always. highly highly recommend.
First time here, and wow—it was incredible! We tried a variety of dishes, including a few off-menu specials, and everything exceeded expectations. To start, the calamari was hands-down the best we’ve ever had—lightly fried to perfection, with a mix of seafood that added great texture and flavor. Next up, the thin-crust Margherita pizza was a standout. The crust was perfectly crisp, with a balanced blend of fresh mozzarella, tomatoes, and basil that let each ingredient shine. For my entrée, I had the lemon chicken with capers over linguine, tossed in a light olive oil and garlic sauce. Every bite was bursting with bright, savory flavor—zesty, rich, and deeply satisfying. The atmosphere deserves its own mention: cozy yet stylish, ideal for a romantic dinner or catching up with friends at the bar. The layout felt intentional and welcoming, making the whole experience even better. Already looking forward to coming back—this place is a gem!
My husband and I celebrated our 10-year anniversary at La Dolce Vita Cucina, and it was truly a memorable experience. The service was exceptional—attentive, professional, and warm. From the moment we walked in and down to the very end we felt seen, appreciated, and celebrated, which made our special occasion even more meaningful. The cuisine was impressive, with flavors and freshness that transported us back to our time in Italy. The dessert was the perfect finishing touch—well-balanced and absolutely delicious. La Dolce Vita Cucina stands out as a gem in the area, offering not only outstanding food but also a level of service that makes you feel valued.
Finally went with my Bestie who lives in the neighborhood, we were both very pleased with our choice of food. We shared the beet salad which was fresh and tasty, we tried it as well with a drizzle of the table balsamic and it elevated it even more. As our main dish we shared the Tagliatelle Funghie Tarttufo which impressed us with the homemade pasta and the sauce was just right not overcooked, the flavors came together perfectly. We also had a cocktail which was refreshing with muddled raspberries and mint leaves. We shared a dessert as well which was the perfect end to the meal, we shared all 3 dishes and they split for us which was just the perfect amount for us. We will definitely be back, oh and the decor and background music gave that moody old dining vibe. Must try, as we did.
I'm so happy! The food was amazing, the lunch menu was great, the drinks were fantastic, and the bartender was excellent. Plus, parking was easy, and there was no nonsense change.
Our team was thrilled to have been invited to finely dine at this beautiful Italian Restaurant. We loved the atmosphere, delicious food, attentive service and live music. We’re excited to invite our friends and family!
Just amazing! Food is delicious and seasonally changing. The service is wonderful and the gelato is DELICIOUS. But really all the desserts are great! This was my 3rd visit and I finally tried the seafood stew. It comes with toast bread for dipping 😋 I highly recommend coming by for dinner, a lunch or to watch a game. Love that they have a full bar and tvs around. It's super cozy too with all the Christmas decorations 🎄
Must try. Very nice and cozy Italian place.Food is fresh and tasty also if you ask they can make a vegan pasta. Thank you very much, I have a great time.❤️🙏
Great place super cool environment! Food was delicious from the appetizers to the main dishes!! The service was great very attentive! Can’t wait for the patio!
Attentive and friendly service. As a vegetarian they were very accommodating and even suggested an off menu porcini broth spaghetti which was exceptional as well as a roasted veggie platter and bruschetta. The spaghetti was perfectly al dente and the porcini broth extremely flavorful that warmed our bellies. The tagliatelle rich with flavor as well though the top layer a touch too al dente for our taste the bottom layer had the perfect bite. Bruschetta with juicy and refreshing tomato and a savory garlic spread. Too stuffed to try dessert but will have to next time!
We ordered the gnocchi and spaghetti. It was phenomenal , what more stood out for us is that the restaurant was dog friendly and very accommodating. The staff was very polite and helpful. Overall this is a very underrated restaurant and deserves more recognition.
Really nice spot! Food was awesome. The calamari was legit. Good for a date night, a hang night or a hungry night. The bar area has a large space with big TVs. Will be there to watch some bears and football games.
I definitely recommend this place . Is delicious. You need to try Rigatone bolognese, the drinks are super good as well. The service is incredible
Had a wonderful experience! Food, ambiance and service was all on point!! Ricardo was our server and he was fantastic! Thank you so much!! We can’t wait to come back!
This place was amazing and the service was phenomenal! Rodrigo really did make me and my partner’s time a blast! Would recommend to anyone and everyone! 10/10
Great neighborhood spot! Service was friendly and attentive, and the food was very tasty. We enjoyed both the gnocchi and the orecchiete.
Great food, friendly service! Nice atmosphere perfect for a date night, a family gathering or simply to hang out with friends. Will definitely be back to try more menu items!
Probably one of the nicest place to bring family but also friends! People are super friendly and food is top notch.
We had a lovely experience! The staff was so friendly and attentive, and the food was outstanding. We will definitely be back to try some additional items off the menu and would recommend to anyone looking for some great food!
The food was absolutely delicious—every bite was amazing! The service was friendly and attentive, and the cozy atmosphere made it feel like home. This is officially my new favorite spot!
Couldn't be happier about this wonderful Italian restaurant in my neighborhood! I've been back a few times since their grand opening several months ago. The service is on point every time, everyone seems to really care about the guest experience. Really creative classic cocktails with flair. My favorite so far is the Foundation. These people are delivering authentic, delicious Italian food. If my Nonna were still here she would have pinched her fingers together and said "va bene." Six Corners is lucky to have them.
Went to dinner there last week for the first time Pleasantly surprised by how beautiful the inside was and the attentiveness of the staff. The food was excellent, and we enjoyed hanging out as a family. This might become our local place since we live in the neighborhood!
Stopped in on a whim. Absolutely fantastic. My spouse needs gluten-free food and I do not. We both found amazing dishes, with a shared gluten-free meatballs appetizer, and then she had a risotto and I had a gnocchi plate. If Rodrigo is working, order and Old Fashioned and trust his amaro recommendations. Looking forward to returning with friends!
Everything tasted delicious. Get the mushroom pasta and the beet salad. So happy to finally have a place in portage park that’s close, has great food & quality, and has hands down amazing service. Better service than similarly priced restaurants in the more boujie areas. Also, get the handmade banana ice cream the consistency is a thick ice cream that’s phenomenal and the banana flavor is not overpowering but just right. Will be telling all my friends and family to go here, love it!
Incredible restaurant, comfy, clean atmosphere, and amazing staff. We had a family style shared plates meal that everyone very much enjoyed. The mushroom pasta and the calamari appetizer were especially delicious!
I had dinner at this restaurant tonight with my granddaughter. The service and food were truly exceptional. Every dish —two starter salads, pizza, Cornish game hen and crème brûlée —was excellent. Our server Roberto gave us friendly and impeccable service. Highly recommend this place. I look forward to returning soon!
The food was absolutely amazing, fresh, and cooked with love. The dessert was a true work of art. God bless this wonderful team. Ricardo provided excellent and very professional service.
The food was absolutely incredible! fresh, flavorful, and truly made with love. It’s so beautiful and cozy inside perfect for date nights! Also DO NOT sleep on their amazing lunch special!🤤 It’s such a great deal and the portions are generous. And the Sangrias were so GOOD!🍷 This place is a must-try! 💕
This was our first time going to this restaurant. I personally loved it. The food was excellent and so was the service. The ambience is great. Will definitely go back.
This place is such a hidden gem. The food is delicious with pastas, sausage, bread, even ice cream made in house. They don’t skimp on truffle in truffle pastas. The service is always friendly and very accommodating. If more people knew about this place, the line would be out the door. We always bring out of town guests here and they always agree.
Love this place! The food and the staff were amazing! The outdoor seating is cute and the heaters made us so comfortable! Thanks again!
This is one of those Italian places you cannot miss. The staff is amazing. The food is even better. If you don't stop in to try the sausage and peppers your Nonna will get mad at you.
We were very impressed with the flavor and quality of the food. The waiter said the head chefs used to work at a well known Italian restaurant downtown for 20 years, which explains the high quality of the cooking. We brought our two young daughters and they were accommodating and friendly. They don’t have a kids menu but were happy to improvise a la carte simpler dishes (like a side of plain salmon). Kids get a free scoop of ice cream for dessert, too! For adult entrees, we got the Diavola pizza and the Tagliatelle Funghi e Tartufo. Both were excellent. We were especially impressed with the pizza! It was one the best Neapolitan style pizza we’ve had in years.
Food was great and I liked how some of the entrees were offered in appetizer size so I could try more choices in one sitting. Cocktails were good. 2 of the 4 were strong, but not overbearing at all. I'd definitely go back as every single item was at least an 8/10 that I tried.
Visited during restaurant week snd had the opportunity to eat a 3 course meal and I must say it was delicious. The service was great. The girl at the door was very attentive and nice. I called ahead of time to ask about reservations and she took me in. The atmosphere is beautiful. Nice lighting. Nice pictures. Clean bar. And the waiter. The waiter gave great suggestions and was super nice. The staff was on point too, taking our plates and checking in on us. Overall great experience and amazing food.
What a wonderful hidden gem! The atmosphere was cozy and perfect for date night. The kitchen split our salad and dessert, saving us the trouble. I ordered the catch of the day, which was cod prepared in a buttery white wine sauce served over sautéed peppers and greens - melted in my mouth. My partner ordered the special: wild board ragu over house made fettuccine. Very flavorful. The cannoli was amazing, highly recommended!
Came during lunch and they let us order off the Dinner menu. I got the special pasta “fettuccine al cinghiale” (boat meat) and it was so good. The homemade pasta was out of this world. They also have this balsamic on the table for bread, it’s aged 15 years and is so good. We also got the bistecca steak with broccoli and it tasted so good. Highly suggest adding on the broccoli!
We've been here several times, and the food and service are always excellent. We reserved a table for 12 for my birthday this year, and it couldn't have been a better experience. We had our choice of indoor and outdoor tables set for us, and we chose outdoor. We had no idea they had such a lovely back patio! Everyone enjoyed their evening and were very impressed with how delicious everything was. I highly recommend La Dolce Vita for any special occasion or date night.
First off, easy parking around the corner no cost. Secondly, hostess was very welcoming. Next were drinks any my wife said it was perfect. Dirty Martini withe the right amount of everything. Have the blue cheese olives. Finally we both had pasta dishes with homemade pasta, yum. Ambiance was a 11 out of 10. We ate at the bar and Roberto was attentive but not smothering. Outstanding!
We had such a wonderful experience while celebrating a birthday, the staff made everything feel special, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the food was outstanding. The Fritto Misti was absolutely amazing, and every other dish we tried was just as delicious. Highly recommend!
We had a truly wonderful first visit to this Italian gem, and thanks to Roberto—attentive, friendly, and effortlessly funny—we felt like regulars the moment we walked in. His warm hospitality set the tone for a memorable evening. The food delivered in both flavor and presentation. A warm bread basket, featuring a mix of breads and focaccia, was a thoughtful touch to start. The meatballs with polenta appetizer was outstanding—rich, comforting, and generously portioned enough to pass as a main. For mains, I had the Alaskan Halibut Filet with spring vegetables and a pea purée. The halibut was slightly overcooked, but the vegetables were perfectly prepared and the sauce tied everything together beautifully. My son ordered the Frutti di Mare, which was exceptional—the seafood was fresh, and the sauce struck a perfect balance, enhancing the dish without overwhelming it. We sampled all three Negronis (the perks of living just around the corner) and unanimously voted for the Classico. Each version was well crafted and added to the evening’s charm. The space itself is lovely—simple yet warm, with classic booths and lots of wood, a welcoming ambiance. It’s the kind of place that works just as well for a casual dinner with friends as it does for a celebratory gathering. Overall, a fantastic neighborhood spot with excellent service, flavorful food, and a cozy atmosphere. We’ll definitely be back.
Ok so this place is nice except for the painted wood bench seats for their booths. Hard as a rock. They brought everyone’s food except mine. I had to wait five mins for some spaghetti and meatballs. I mean the Cornish hen that my FIL had came before mine. The server says I’m sorry we’re making sure your pasta is fantastic lol that’s why there’s a wait. It looks like they opened a can of chef boy ardee spaghetti and meatballs no joke. The serving was so small. The bill was ridiculous for the so called fantastic pasta. Never again
We came in for my fiance birthday and the waiters where supper good! Treated us very well! He let us sit where ever you wanted. He brought bread 🍞 and the bread was real hard felt like I was biting into a rock. I said the entre must be better we got calamari, no flavor at all. I said the food must be better, I even told the server to pick the one he likes. The server brought the food and it had to much seasoning. Maybe that night was not there night. I came in because it had 4.8 review rating.
Really wanted to like this place in our area. But, on visit nothing has changed from previous restaurant here down to the name “Foundation “ on huge mirror. Same atmosphere as well. The wooden booths are horrible and uncomfortable. Dinner for four was ok, not great. The portions are great but not spectacular. Service for a slow night was unenthusiastic by staff. Maybe I expected more. I will probably in fairness attempt again.
Our first time back since this location open under new owners, this was one of our favorite locations previously. We felt it was time to give it try. We were disappointed in a few things, however service was spot on, very attentive and friendly waiter. A cute place, just a bit of overkill on the music. The restaurant is Italian cuisine, no need to blast the same tunes in. Drinks are ok, however if a cocktail requires a rimmed edge, don’t skimp on the ingredient. The BREAD, served was tasteless! A slice of any store bought bread would have been better! I commented to the waiter and he came back and said they forgot to add salt! It was supposed to be sourdough? It was the worst flavorless piece of bread ever! The olive oil provided on the table is very low quality, yellowish in color and taste is off, more like corn oil. A Italian restaurant should have these two first staples correct. We did have a fantastic appetizer of octopus, which was very tender! However the sauce provided was again lacking flavor. We did like that all pasta dishes are available in appetizer portions. They were ok, we suspected that canned asparagus was used? I had a side of fennel sausage, and the way it served did make my plate unappealing in look. It was served in a ground version, and it was lacking in the fennel. Overall for what what we had I do find it pricey. Two cocktails an appetizer and two small portions of pasta was $200. We don’t mind spending on a night out, but for what this was I felt it was a bit too much. Here’s to hoping that a few things are fixed or maybe it was an off day in the kitchen. It took a lot for these friends to venture on this establishment, wish them all the best.
