I brought my girlfriend here last week since she was visiting from out of town. I've always thought about going to this place for well over a year, as both the menu and raving reviews were appealing. However, because I live in the suburbs, getting to this place was a journey; hopping trains and blistering my feet on a lengthy walk from the OTC is an endeavor that took hours. I can safely say that the endeavor was well worth it, especially on an empty stomach. We both ordered the 1503, and I got some cheese curds as an extra. Out of the many burgers I've enjoyed throughout a lifetime, this place is at the top of my list. Everything on the burger worked together harmoniously. Nothing inside of it felt out of place, and the barbecue sauce elevated this burger to another level of sweet gluttony. I would gladly come here again.

Good food and overall a very cool spot. I wasn't expecting it to be a loud sports bar, but really great atmosphere on football Sunday. I was bummed they wouldn't serve bottomless champagne, but we went for the bottomless cranberry mimosas and they were fantastic

I called to make a quick reservation for my boyfriend & I on a Friday night, to which a friendly and hospitable hostess ensured a table. Very pleased, since most restaurants are strict with reservations due to COVID, so getting a table last minute when craving for some cheese curds was a life saver! The food and drinks are delicious and decently priced; I recommend their Fireside Cider & their signature burger. :)

Long standing South Loop bar with friendly staff and plenty of room to watch sports. Food is great. Big fan of the cheese curds.

On Sunday December 14th - the coolest Bear game I’ve ever been to started out on a good note - until it didn’t. My husband and I showed up at Weather Mark to meet our niece and boyfriend for a little pregaming before heading to Soldier field for the noon game. I didn’t realize until we were leaving the car with the valet that I forgot my coat (in the SW suburbs). I asked the sweet lady at the hostess stand if there was any place I could walk to to buy a winter coat since I forgot mine at home. The closest place was a Target 7 blocks away - walking wasn’t going to work. Next idea was to get my car back from the valet and drive to Target. Before I could get the valet ticket from My husband the owner came out from the back of the restaurant and handed me his winter coat and said “please bring it back when you’re done and please take care of your server”. After tipping our amazing waitress a 100% tip on the bill we walked to the game - which we won, walked back to Weather Mark - returned the coat with a hug, and tipped the valet 100% for his service. Weather Mark Tavern now has 4 customers for life!!

They have one of the best trivia nights in downtown Chicago, Thursday nights at 7:30. At least 10-15 teams, definitely more though. Very competitive. Better than most bar food and solid drinks. Average buffalo wings fantastic bartenders and staff. If it were in River North of West Loop place would be packed every night.

Excellent experience during this Holiday week. The bar was pretty packed, however, the staff was extremely friendly, helpful and alert. I had the cod tacos and the garlic fries, and the food came out very quickly and hot. The sauce that accompanied the tacos was extremely good, and the fries were very well seasoned. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to those looking for a great bite to eat.

We reserved tables for a group get together for a conference. Jillian was great about communication. Ended having more people show up then planned and everyone at the Tavern was super accommodating. Great service by Zania and an enjoyable evening for everyone. Owner Mark was very welcoming. Highly recommend for a chill night out. Trivia night was an added bonus!

I’ve been visiting this establishment sporadically the past 15+ years. The food has always been great. The staff has been consistently amazing. And the atmosphere is always better when Mark is there, always vigilant. Especially this past Sunday while my girlfriend and I were dining on the patio. BONUS: Thanks for sponsoring our softball team many moons ago, Mark.

Stopped by Weather Mark Tavern in the South Loop last Friday evening and had a fantastic experience. We took advantage of their all-you-can-eat fish fry special for $18.95, and it did not disappoint—the fish was crispy and flavorful, and the portions were generous. To accompany our meal, we enjoyed a couple of their $10 espresso martinis, which were a delightful pick-me-up. The nautical-themed decor adds a unique and cozy vibe, making it a great spot to unwind after a long week. The staff was friendly and attentive, ensuring our glasses were never empty. With the lively atmosphere and delicious food, Weather Mark Tavern has definitely earned a spot in my regular rotation.

One of my favorite bars to visit. The employees are all super friendly and welcoming. The servers make great drinks and the food is solid albeit a bit on the expensive side for what it is. Would love for there to be some apps or sides under $10 that are easy add ons if I’m still hungry after a meal but most of the apps are priced just below the cost of a full meal. That’s really my only suggestion on the place.

Weather Mark Tavern brings a nautical, neighborhood bar charm to Chicago's South Loop. It's praised for its welcoming atmosphere, often with a lively crowd, and a menu featuring solid pub fare. Many enjoy it for happy hour and casual meals, with some highlighting their pizza and drinks. It provides a relaxed and fun setting, a great spot to unwind in the area.

Great experience - service was really great despite it being very very busy. We had a very very large group before a concert. Could not have asked for a better experience with the staff.

Best service in the South Loop. Awesome place to go with friends or family. Food is great and beer list is solid.

Met up with a friend here on a whim. The food was delicious! I had the Asian chili shrimp and tater tots. They had a beyond burger with a side salad. No complaints from either of us. We chose to sit at the bar. Our bartender / waitress was SO sweet and incredibly prompt. I’m not sure what it looks like when it’s late at night, but families with young children came in and the staff didn’t seem bothered. So I would say this is definitely a kid friendly place. I will absolutely be returning!

I’ve been in the South Loop for over 20 years and about 5 years ago I started coming to Weathermark. The food is really good, the drinks are always perfect and the staff is the best. If you need a place to be your go to neighborhood bar this is it!

Nice neighborhood spot. I ordered the pretzel bites and they were great! I had the Smokey margarita which was very tasty and strong. They have happy hour 4-6pm which includes $2 off drafts and 25% off appetizers (minus the wings). I also had the Christmas ale and the bar was decorated nicely for the holidays. The bartenders were friendly and attentive. Great spot for a solo diner whether sitting at the bar or hightop. I’ll be back.

Only reason it received a three star rating on service was that the place with packed with Pearl Jam fans. Service, predictably, was a little slow. When the waitress did come, she was super sweet and apologetic. Otherwise, the chicken tacos were really tasty, so were the wings. Great atmosphere. We parked across the street, got a shuttle to the United Center, and we were there in less than 10 minutes (traffic). We walked back after the concert, surprisingly only 10 minutes and we were back home in about 15 minutes. Didn't have to deal with stadium parking and it was only $12 parking. Highly recommend if you're heading to a concert and want to grab a bite before you go.

The Weather Mark Tavern smokes! Great place to eat, drink and relax or watch a game. Occasional live music, relaxed atmosphere and friendly, fast bartenders - What more could you want?

I love finding great restaurants in the South Loop, and Weather Mark Tavern is one of my favorites! The nautical-themed atmosphere is so fun, the staff is always welcoming, and the food is consistently delicious. Their brunch is easily one of the best brunch spots near Soldier Field — bottomless mimosas and hearty pub fare make it perfect before a Bears game or a visit to the museums. I’ve also stopped by for happy hour, and the cocktails and specials are fantastic. If you’re looking for a great South Loop Chicago bar & restaurant with amazing service, this is the place to go.

We went to the Weather Mark Tavern for Happy Hour. It could not have been better. The bartender was great and helped explain the Happy Hour offerings as well as the varied draft beer selections. A huge plus was the friendly crowd who welcomed us from out of state. The prices are very reasonable and that is rare in this city.

McKenna was great! I feel as if my comment to her about my drink came off rude but she never said anything back in a snippy manner. I apologized later because how I said it delivered the wrong message, but she has great customer service and maintained a professional line of communication! Sorry again, it was not my intention.

Our first visit, and we’re hooked! Everything from amazing food to the service to the warm, welcoming vibe — was flawless! Definitely a spot we’ll return to again and again! This place has a true passion for making guests feel special. Already planning our next visit! Special shout outs to the host with the most Bruce and to our server Jillian! Thanks for making our pre-Oasis concert a memorable time with playing their songs and having the whole restaurant singing! Fun times!

Weather Mark Tavern has a great bar vibe—relaxed, comfortable, and not overly loud, which made it easy to enjoy a conversation. The service was friendly and attentive without feeling rushed. The food was good and reasonably priced for what you get. We tried the **Cheese Curds**, **Fish Tacos**, and **Southern Hot Brown Sliders**. The cheese curds were crispy on the outside and perfectly gooey inside. The fish tacos were fresh and well-seasoned, with a nice balance of flavor and texture. The Southern Hot Brown sliders were a pleasant surprise—savory, rich, and something a little different from the usual bar menu. Overall, it’s a solid spot for casual drinks and good food. I’d definitely come back.

We came for but all you can eat fish and chips on a Friday night on 3/14/25. They also have a happy hour menu from 4 to 6 PM Monday through Friday. I am not sure if this all you can deal is just for lent or bc it’s close to St Patrick’s Day in 3 days. The atmosphere is fun and lots of tables and lots of TV flatscreen everywhere to watch sports and drink and eat with. They have three bathrooms. And they have outdoor seating. And they have a window that looks like a garage window, which is really nice. The corned beef dish for About $19.50 was really good. This was the special St Patties Day menu. The food took a very long time to come out for 2 dishes and 1 second round of extra fish and chips platter. We stayed almost 2 hours bc the food came so late. Fun atmosphere and the food was good … just took too long. Parking on the street with meters at $2.50 per hour. Parking was easy to find at night starting around 5pm. Staff was friendly.

So the blueberry pancakes were 10 out of 10, but my chicken and waffles were overcooked and dry. Our waitress was great and made it right. I had the passion fruit cocktail. It was good but definitely strong.

pleasantly surprised! didn't see too many people inside but thought to try a different place that had outdoor seating. we got seated right away, our server was nice, and our food was delicious and affordable!! got the blue chicken wrap + Caesar and the southwestern salad + chicken. highly recommend!

We stopped at this tavern on our way to see Beyonce at Soldier Field. It was pretty quiet but was packed by 5pm. Food and drinks were really good. We shared pretzel bites and a build your own pizza. For drinks, we had the aperol spritz, passion fruit margarita, fresh fruit mule, lemon berry spritz and shots of fireball. I think the bartender was Molly. She was fantastic and so were the drinks. She even cranked up the music at our request! The only negative is the bathrooms. One toilet would not flush and overall, not that clean. Otherwise really fun spot especially if you're looking for a place to stop close to Soldier Field.

Very welcoming atmosphere and reasonable prices. Easy to get to from multiple parking places. There fish and chips are good and fish is all you can eat. Fries are traditional steak fries and their sauce is AWESOME! GREAT COLE SLAW. I had two cocktail double shots and the fish and chips plus a glass of good purified water for 53.00. I'd return.

The ONLY reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because my fries weren't cooked the way I ordered them. But other than that, our experience there was amazing. The house made soup was great. The burger was cooked to perfection. The service was awesome. I would say I'd go back, but the next time I'm in Chicago, I want to go to different places. So, I will HIGHLY RECOMMEND. Keep doing what you're doing !!

Nice bar but the food was average. Meatball sub was served without marinara sauce unlike the menu description in the menu. Meatballs seemed salty. Buffalo chicken in the wrap was over breaded and over cooked. Instead of crunchy it was very hard. Flank steak salad was basic but good. Fish tacos were enjoyable. Service was slow.

My husband and I were in from out of town. One thing I’ve learned about visiting Chicago is to make sure to have dinner reservations. I made a reservation for Weather Mark Tavern because it seemed like a casual place close to our hotel. We got reminders about our upcoming reservation and got there right on time only to find out it’s a seat yourself place and every table was full. Luckily 2 people left the bar so we were able to snag their seats. Food and drinks were good. Our poor bartender was the only one working for the entire place (which was packed). She appeared to make some phone calls and several people show up within the hour to help her. So overall, we enjoyed our time here but please remove the reservations tab on your website.

I visited this place because I heard it was really good but for me it was just ok. I had fish tacos and they were good but they weren't good enough that I'd want to go back for them again. My son didn't like his grilled cheese so I got him a pizza and it was just okay as well. The night we went it was extremely loud. I'm not sure if that happens on a regular basis. They were also very busy and I think only had 2 servers so the service was a bit slow.

Food was a bit scatter shot in quality. My blacked mahi mahi was over cooked, as was my friends burger. But my daughters linguini cant out good. Service and atmosphere were ok, nothing special but nothing bad either. Overall there are better places to go in the area.

Love the vibe of the bar. Good beer selection and specialty cocktails. Waitress was friendly, good service. The Carnitia Tacos were not good. The pulled pork was dry, no cheese, tomatoes, etc on the tacos. Hot sauce provided, nothing else. Worst tacos I've ever had. The bad food ruined the vibe of the bar.

Came here before a concert. The kitchen struggled. Boneless wings came out extremely cold. We requested no tomatoes on our wrap ... tomatoes weren't removed. Requested tater tots instead of fries ... Tator tot delivered 15 mins after meal arrived. Mandatory 20% gratuity applied to a $200+ meal. Meal took 1.5hrs. Plan accordingly. Won't be back. Not picky patrons, just wanted food as requested.

Food is ok, if you get it. After we were seated, the staff forgot about us and we had to remind them that we were seated AND remind them that we put in our orders. There are better options near by. Don’t waste your time here.

My brief experience at this establishment was terrible. The staff is extremely rude and ignored me while trying to pick up a to go order. I stood at the designated pick up spot- no one greeted me. Looked at me, but did not tend to my needs. I navigated to the bar and the bartender stayed at the opposite side of the bar despite looking way several times. I walked toward him, one last effort to be serviced and he said “you’re the to go order right.” If you knew that- why have I been standing here so long. The other waiter was cleaning and did not tend to me either. I will never be back.

I hate to write this review. Weather mark used to be one of my favorite places to take the ladies on initial dates. I knew the food was great the drinks were good and the service was always standard. I haven’t been here since around 2011/2012. Glad to see it survived the times. I am deeply saddened to write that service, food and drinks have completely tanked. The sweet potato fries were almost burned, the wings were disgustingly undercooked and rubbery, if only they put batter on them to enrich the flavor and texture. My date and I stopped eating the wings and I ordered a grilled chicken byob. I added grilled onion and mushrooms to it and when I tell you that there were barely 3 pieces of grilled onion and 5 mushrooms, I mean it. We sat at the bar, our waitress was an older polish woman with glasses, never got her name but she barely checked on us 3/4 times. We had to ask for water and even the water had a strange taste to it. Our bill came out to 108.59, the service is severely lacking, the food is either undercooked or over cooked and the drinks were pre made or too sweet. After I paid the bill, my date noticed the bar tender talking to the server about the tip that I left and began pointing at us, I was unaware of this until my date said she wanted to leave and I thought it was weird because I wanted to stay for jeopardy which was just about to start. As we are walking out my date told me that the bar tender pointing at us made her feel uncomfortable and she didn’t trust any more food or drinks. Again I wanted to rank this place as high as I used to back in the day but with the treatment we got this day I’ll refrain from returning. It really wasn’t that busy.
