Best bar in Chico IMO. If you like cocktail bars, and are looking for something more than the super divey-dive bars and less than the rowdy party-bars, come here.

Really cool place with a great selection of cocktails and drafts. Ultra-high ceilings with a huge patio with a projector screen playing dope flicks and shows. Staff is very welcoming and helpful. A nice gem in the heart of downtown.

Argus is the type of bar I don't want to leave a review on because it means so much to me that to rave might bring bad vibes to it. I moved states away but Argus has been the hub for many a good night simply because the bartenders- inside and out- have to my experience been too notch compared to almost any other place I've been to. The bartenders are knowledgeable and friendly, the TV's have either vintage movies or something obscure but acceptable sure to start a conversation, the happy hour is decent to say the least, it's really just a haven Idk. I just love that place

A wonderful, slightly more upscale bar with pricier drinks than other places. But a great ambiance inside and out. The outside is a truly relaxing oasis as the ivy-clad building which makes up one of the borders is a refreshing sight amongst all of the bare stone or plastered walls in other establishments. Perfect drinking hole for young professionals to gather after work.

Great place downtown to drop in for a nice quality mixed drink. Great atmosphere for visiting. Inside, outside seating. They don't serve food, but allow "take-in", and there are many choices nearby on foot.

The bartenders know what the are doing, and I have personally never had a bad drink. During the colder days, they have outside heating laps that they will light for you. When it is the busy times of the year, they open the back bar so that way the line's are not as bad. It has a very laid back feel to it, and I normally see all different types of age groups in there. It's not so much of a club atmosphere, but rather a "kick back and have a conversation with your friends" deal.

We loved watching dueling pianos on the patio. It could use some additional seating for such a big draw event however.

Look. The bar n patio are lovely and the drink menu nearly as uninspired as gratuitous. However....don't go there if you're not into less than friendly, aloof even, staff who attempt to make themselves appear waaayyy more informed than you when you ask for 2 luxardo marinated cherries and he corrects you by saying TWICE " they're Maraschino Cherries" (Yes. I know.) And I guess don't go there if you want a bartender to recommend libations by promoting their specialties or say... Conversing with the customer... Definitely dont go there if a 10$ tip for 2 drinks is too shabby for even slight eye contact from the bartender. and maybe don't go there if u feel like laughing and don't want to be stared at. I dont know. Maybe just don't go there. I'm likely not as there was nothing impressive about it now 3x, and let's face it. I can't feign disinterest and detachment at that level. Haha They think they know they're better than us. Au re vours Argus

I do like Argus, I just had a very unfortunate experience. Be sure to check your wallet before leaving. Unfortunately my card was left behind at counter and now have two fraud charges from the bar.

They need a better mixologist. the cocktails are always terrible. They have fun themes, but every time I go in and try a new one I'm always disappointed. Also, over the years I've noticed the staff has never been the friendliest. It's sucks, because the atmosphere is nice. I really want to like the place, but I don't think it's going to happen for me.
