Opinions de Chodang Tofu Chino Hills
Food 5/5 - Ordered seafood tofu soondooboo mild spicy. The entrees include a small side salad and fried fish, and you get your standard assorted banchan side dishes (kimchi, cucumber, glass noodles, bean sprouts, tofu skin, mac salad). The fried fish is fresh out of the fryer, and the side salad has a refreshing crunch. Their kimchi isn’t as salty as some of the Korean restaurants in the area, which I prefer, and the rest of the banchan is good. Soup is delicious and the tofu is soft, they don’t skimp on the seafood ingredients (good sized shrimp and multiple mussel pieces). Price $$ - Price is fair for the portions that were served. Banchan refills are bigger after they first serve to you. Service 5/5 - Service is good, they refilled our banchan side dishes and our water pitcher without us having to flag them down, and checked in with us multiple times to make sure everything tasted good. Atmosphere 4/5 - Interior is good with Korean themed decor. Look closer at the lower walls and you’ll see Korean script characters. Overall - Had a pleasant experience and would visit again.
Everything was excellent! I’m surprised this place does not have more reviews! Got the japchae, kimchi tofu, and seafood tofu. Everything hit the spot! Flavors, level of spiciness, and the amount of protein you get. Also so many great sides!!! The service was fantastic! They were really nice and very fast! Will definitely be visiting this restaurant again!
A nice, cozy restaurant located in Chino Hills with tasty food and thoughtful service! We ordered three soondubu (soft tofu soups) and the spicy pork bulgogi, all of which were delicious and came in generous portions. The banchan (side dishes) were also plentiful and the server came around to refill the ones that we liked most. I particularly liked that there was variety in the side dishes that were served, which was unique compared to other places I have been - and especially appreciate the clean taste that Chodang offers compared to some other, comparable restaurants where I've felt the food was tasty in the moment but felt heavy afterwards. In summary, would highly recommend!
New management, taste is much better. Better than Youngdong. I ordered Soontofu and grilled Squid. This restaurant is my favorite now.
This is our favorite Korean restaurant in Chino Hills. It serves authentic Korean dishes including Kalbitang (beef bone soup) and the dumplings. The side dishes are always decent and change often. You won’t be disappointed here if you are hungry for Korean food. The staff has always been super friendly and attentive. Update: we had our lunch here this week and the bibimbob was as good as before. Definitely worth a try if you haven’t already.
Nice Korean restaurant to enjoy a delicious meal. Got the beef tofu soup, and the flavor was spot on. It was missing an egg, but I suspect it was due to the crisis shortage of the egg at this time. Along with the side dishes, the meal was very satisfying and fulfilling. Highly recommended.
Flavor We ordered the kalbitabg and the hotstone bibimbap. Both of them were very delicious, using fresh ingredients, and I would definitely want to come back here again. The kalbitabg had meat on the bone which came off easily and melted in my mouth. The bibimbap had a wide range of different vegetables and came out sizzling with its iconic crispy rice in the bottom. Not only that, there was a wide range of banchan that we could get refills on. Service The restaurant was manned by one nice lady who was very attentive and provided fast and friendly service. Price The menu items were a bit on the pricy side compared to other foods you could get in Chino, but the fresh ingredients and produce used throughout the menu made it worthwhile. We ended up spending about 17$ per meal which includes some food that we took home Vibes The restaurant had a clean and modern interior which was accented by light, loungey jazz music which was a pleasant experience
Went on a Monday night. There's only one person working cashier and tables but she does her best to keep up. I think the prices went up just like everywhere else because I thought I remember most dishes being $15 before, but I also could be remembering lunch prices rather than dinner. I got the kalbitang and it came out boiling, hence the picture. My boyfriend got the kimchi beef soondubu with medium spice (also boiling) and beef bulgogi combo. Both dishes were great, although I'm definitely more in favor of the kalbitang. We both really enjoyed the side dishes too and ended up asking for a refill. Overall, it's still a great place to eat. The kind of good food that you end up finishing when you thought you'd have leftovers. Looking forward to visiting again.
We you can eat out dine in. The food is delicious and generous servings here. Especially, ice corn noodles and meat are the best. The side dishes are excellent, too.! I highly recommend this restaurant. :)
A small but friendly restaurant. They have one of the best tastes of the Korean food. They have good soups and best flavors I’ve tried before.

Super good Korean Food. Also try the lunch special, you will like it!
Good stuff.. I enjoy my #3 spicy seafood tofu soup.
Food was delicious and our server made sure we had everything we needed.
I’ve eaten at many similar Korean restaurants, but this one is definitely worth recommending. The flavors are excellent, the portions are generous, and the ingredients are truly authentic! It’s so much better than some of the chain brands!
Good food and decent price for Korean food. They also gave us purpose sticky rice with our order.
The food was amazing and very authentic Korean food. The owner is very nice and kind always is there to greet customers! Get the spicy soft tofu and spicy pork comb for the best meal. Also the side dishes are very diverse!! 😛🫶🏻😋
The food has always been very good here, and as long it is, we will con't to visit when we can. The atmosphere is very nice also, as it is not a loud place. A small, nice place to have some really good korean food, if that's what you like.
Last Christmas, my whole family got sick with an unknown flu. I canceled Christmas dinner and ordered pork cutlet from a nearby restaurant to feed the kids. They gave me plenty of sides and it was delicious, so the kids ate it with satisfaction. I felt bad for not having Christmas dinner, but I was so grateful.

This is a local Korean restaurant that specializes in tofu soup and always provides a delightful array of side dishes, which is a pleasant surprise when visiting. Recently, the restaurant underwent renovations, giving it a clean and contemporary look that adds to its appeal. During my visit, I ordered the seafood soup noodle, but unfortunately, I was disappointed with the overwhelming flavor of shellfish and clams. It's not a great option for those who prefer a more balanced seafood taste. The price of the dish was a bit expensive considering the portion size, quality, and flavor. Despite this, the restaurant is still a good option for those looking for a satisfying lunch of tofu soup. Server was very attentive and always refills side dishes.
Had a great experience here ordering their spicy pork with the tofu soup. The spicy pork had some real kick to it and they had fried fish among their appetizers.

Was craving soon doobu so I stopped by here. The soondubu was decent. Was lacking a little in taste and spice. I ordered medium and it was a little bland. The kimchi side that was served was spicier. I ordered the mixed soon doobu for dine in and the galbi bap lunch special to go for dinner. I just opened my Togo and it was bulgolgi instead. A bit disappointed but the bulgolgi is tasty. However I didn't want bulgolgi, I wanted galbi so minus 1 star.

Tried this place on a Friday evening. We got in around 9.15 PM and were the only ones there till close. By SoCal standards, this is pretty slow. The service was quick and friendly but the food was mediocre. The spicy chicken was barely marinated, tasted dry and the pieces of chicken were huge. Most chicken pieces were half cooked and appeared stale. The tofu soup tasted bland too. They were nice enough to accommodate our special request to have a shrimp only tofu soup, but we really did not enjoy the food. Hate to be the first one to review the place and leave a negative one, but it is what it is.

This is the worse Tofu soup that I never tried before. Compare to other Korean tofu house, Chodang tofu soup is bland, they said spicy but it’s not spicy. I can tell they use tomatoes paste to make the soup colorful, so the soup tasted a little bit weird, tomato flavor, it’s not like authentic Korean tofu soup. All side dishes are average, the only thing tastes okay is grilled galbi beef ribs. The reason I came here for lunch cause I saw they have a better review than other Korean restaurants around Chino, but I won’t come back again for this food quality. The customer service is average, not nice even they’re not busy at lunch time.
