Opinions de Coffee Cart Chula Vista
A genuinely wonderful spot to come to and have a coffee, do a little work, and feel welcomed. The atmosphere is just as lovely as the coffee, and the staff is even better. They always greet you warmly, and they are themselves, not just automatons bussing out coffee with a practiced smile. You can tell they enjoy doing what they do, and hearing their laughter and being human while they give wonderful service is always a plus. Coming here is of my highlights I look forward to every week.
My morning started with coffee at this cafe. We were greeted with a warm welcome at the coffee shop. I like the atmosphere of the place. There is a lot of space, clean tables and chairs. There are also various accessories and coffee beans for sale. I wanted to drink a matcha latte, but the girl warned me that she couldn't make a drink that wasn't sweet because the matcha powder is already mixed with sugar. This is important to me so that I don't have to redo the drink later. So I had a latte. I liked it very much. The coffee is perfectly prepared. The right temperature, the right foam. I am satisfied 😍 ⬇️ ⬇️ I would like to add that I came here the next day and they made me coffee that was too hot. Another shift of people was working. I even burned my tongue a little 😕
Great coffee, great food, great service. I went in today ans noticed the great atmosphere and the two employees there were working together nicely, they looked super organized and all areas were clean. We ordered the Champ, the Salted Caramel, the breakfast sandwiches and the scone. All in all 10/10. And most importantly the quality of the coffee is superb
This place is great. * Super chill and relaxed vibes. There is plenty of space to sit and be on your laptop. The music isnt over bearing and it seems very chill on a Sunday afternoon. The coffee is smooth and delicious. The staff is friendly and inviting. I thought it was closed, but it is open, guys! Hidden in the corner of 3rd Avenue in Chula Vista. I will definitely come back often! My coffee is the Champ with 2 shots( equals 4).
Cute little shop with you plenty of seating place in Chula Vista downtown. Limited menu but well made coffee and selection of food. Usually crowded over weekend with students and professionals catching up on work. The music is nice for backgrounds and rest rooms well maintained. A definite visit almost every weekend for us over the months!
This is a nice little coffee shop that recently opened up near me. The coffee is good and the Breakfast sandwich a little expensive but it was worth it as it tasted great. Got a Cinnamon Roll which was great but they can't warm up pastries which is a down side. All and all this place is pretty good.
Enjoying some coffee in the new spot in the Chula Vista Village. Dark Horse Coffee Roast is located on the corner of 3rd Ave and F st. Very nice cup of joe here cold or hot in morning or afternoon, come early they close at 4pm. I like the vibe here good music and Wi-Fi. Many People studying here with laptops etc
Need a delicious tea or coffee and a great study/work environment? Dark Horse is the place to go! They are also my husband’s choice for freshly roasted coffee beans!

Nice vibe inside with the friendly, upbeat crew and music. Love the hot Cafe Fed Olla with Almond Milk. The cinnamon is what makes it special, though.
My experience was great, coffee was amazing. Martiza gave me great suggestions as it was my first time. Alex has great customer service skills. He was so stoked that it was my first time. Genuinely loved the honey and bubbles.
Great coffee, with fun seasonal beverages. Recommend the Rosemary bagel with Sun-dried tomato cream cheese!
Staff is great at their job and goes above and beyond for their customers. Come down a coffee then grind a work project here. Or you can have a semi quiet yap sesh with a friend. Cannot go wrong with either. Overall neat gem in a charming neighborhood of Chula
What a great coffee shop. I have gone to another location and have to say that I love this one thus far. The coffee and pastries are delicious. I wish I would have taken pics, but so far both the Champ and their Chai Latte was delicious. The Chai is brewed in house and is super good. Highly recommend it!

I love this place, but this new guy with curly hair needs to work on his customer service skills, same as the guy with the funky mustache. Sometimes it seems like they’re bothered to take your order. But overall, the rest of the staff always give me excellent service that makes you feel welcome.

Nice place to meet friends and talk. Coffee was good, clean restaurant and restrooms. Order at the counter then choose a table inside or outside. Adequate wi-fi. Lots of regulars.
Visited for the first time on Saturday (6/20/25).the espresso drink was pretty tasty and I asked for extra hot and they did it.I didn't like the pricing..It looks like the classic bait and switch here with the eight ounce small cup.I asked for a small drink and the unfriendly Latina behind the counter immediately shows me their small cup size and then attempted to up sale the medium cup for six bucks. Also they allow any and all dogs in their shoppe..Gross
Tried their cinnamon honey coffee. It was good. Their menu was very small which is totally fine but it was ok. Not my go to coffee place. But good in case you’re running late and need somewhere quick to stop by for a coffee.
I just visited Darl Horse in Chula Vista today and I wanted to give it another try. I had been waiting for this location to open a very very long time ago and was super excited. Unfortunately I had the same bad experience again. It's this specific location. Every time I've gone it just feels unwelcoming. The staff doesn't acknowledge you, at least a hi, welcome. I was standing waiting to be helped when finally the cashier comes back and doesn't say oh thanks for waiting, how can I help you. She wasn't rude but also not very nice. She was serious and just looked annoyed. We ordered coffee and conchas and got our stuff to go. It just feels like there is no connection going on between the staff and customers. By far our most favorite and welcoming location is the one on Adams, we love it there and wished we lived closer to it.
I recently visited Dark Horse on Sunday and had mixed feelings about the experience. While the coffee was enjoyable, the atmosphere felt unwelcoming, especially for families. We brought our three kids along, and it seemed like the staff were more focused on watching them than welcoming us. Instead of a friendly greeting, we felt a sense of annoyance from the staff. Overall, the ambience left much to be desired.
Love Dark Horse and was excited they were opening a spot in Chula Vista. Food and drinks are great, pretty large space with plenty of seating. For those looking to work there on their laptops, be warned - wifi goes down often and the staff is really unhelpful about it. I asked them to try restarting the router to see if that would help and they were unwilling to try. Said there was nothing they could do and that it might come back or it might not. I'd love to come to this space more often and support their business, but the wifi issue needs to be fixed. Hopefully they do something about it!

The people working are unprofessional. The guy with the beanie runs back and forth from the back of the coffee shop while the girls giggle and laugh. It is some type of game they are playing. Grab coffee elsewhere.
