This place was easy going they can communicate in English. They don't have a restroom but the food is always great. In the mornings it seems slow not sure in the afternoon but the wait is normal! Try the pupusas!
Wonderful little restaurant with amazing authentic food and even more amazing people! A "hole in the wall" everyone who knows, will be back! Thoughs that don't know, you're missing out on a great Salvadorian escapse from the Valley...
The new owners are so nice. 99 cents pupusas on Tuesday and Thursday are really good. My best is Atol de Elote, delicious !!!!!!😋
the new owners are so friendly! i would highly recommend visiting and supporting this local business!! they have 99 cent pupusas every tuesday and thursday!
This place is really good and on Tuesday and Thursday 1.50 pupusas you can't beat recommend this place
Great food and great service! We just started coming here but my boyfriend and I are both already big fans. I love their bean and cheese pupusas and their pastelitos de carne are SO GOOD! I would definitely recommend and we will definitely be back to order more!
Pupusas were absolutely delicious. Rice, beans also very good. Kids enjoyed it & definitely recommend to dine- in or take out.
I come here regularly and it's amazing, the Papusa's are great, I will say that the wait time is a little longer than expected but fine.
One of the tastiest pupusas I’ve had in years. They have friendly service. The cashier was nice. I got my pupusas in less than 20 minutes, and the short wait was worth every minute. I came here for the first time because I wanted to try their Tuesday/Thursday $1 pupusas (revueltas or with bean only). I am definitely coming back sometime soon.
The service is great I only waited for 10 minutes for my purchase and the food was awesome it was delicious I also got horchata it was soo good I rate it a 5 for its service and food
Best chicken tamales around! The foods great and staff is friendly. I recommend calling ahead only because the parking there is very limited and its easier to just run in and pick up your food.
They have a special that runs on Thursdays with pupusas revueltas 🔥👏😋, which love and appreciate. They dont give tiny pupusas because they're on special. They give you a good portion size one. I also get other pupusas and they're incredible as well, and the salsa is actually pretty impressive compared others. I'd definitely recommend their food. I always order mine to go and they're this sweet cashier who's customer service is top tier. Ill get her name next time 😉.

Small restaurant but food is good.....my daughter praised their pupusas
I have mixed feelings about this restaurant. I used to come here prior to the pandemic. Then I discovered a similar restaurant nearby that had a little bit more of a friendlier nicer atmosphere, but it closed down after the pandemic. I came back recently for the first time in a long time. The menu is very confusing and there are no prices listed anywhere. There really is no way to make a determination if you want to eat there or not since they do not have prices anywhere and basically only photos of menu items on the wall. There is no way to know if the employees are being honest in terms of what they are charging you. I got papusas which is what I came there for. They seemed a bit over priced in my opinion, but the meal was excellent with plenty of the cabbage "coleslaw" (with pepper in it too which I liked!) that is traditional with the meal, and the sauce was rather good too. They should invest in air conditioning instead of fans which sort of blows things away on the tables, such as your napkins, making the meal as challenging as if it was outdoors during Santa Ana winds (California, not El Salvador. Lol). I was slightly disappointed, but I have not ate out much since inflation has hit so maybe the prices are typical. The FOOD WAS GREAT so I guess that is what matters the most. Atmosphere inside was much improved with El Salvador images on the walls. I enjoyed the cultural pride presented inside the restaurant. The language barrier is frustrating to deal with her if you only speak English. Even if you speak Spanish poorly, they still don't seem to understand you.
The food tastes homemade, tried the sopa de pata was a bit salty, but overall good flavor. The plantains were sweet and cooked very well. The pupusas were good too.
It's decent haven't tried the pupusas yet, the tamales de elote are good but expensive. Each one is $2.50 so if you got that cash go for it.

I had high hopes for this restaurant however the bread was unfortunately hard and stale that you couldn't even bite hard enough to eat it. I am glad the service was kind though

Bad service, rude cashier.

This is probably a pretty good place. I've driven past here many times. Stopped for el Pollo loco, big mamas and papas pizza, and the Chinese place next door on Roscoe. Unfortunately, I don't speaka Spanish. Even though I was first in line, in an empty establishment, they told me it would be 45 minutes for my 2 pupusas as I watched 10 other people get their large orders(not pickup) before me. Very disappointing. First time, last time. Bye.(Adios!)

This place has roaches, look up the health report on this place and avoid it at all cost.
I HATE WHEN PLACES DON'T ACCEPT CARDS!!!!!!!!!! food was average
Is take long to serve
Every time I call and make an order they ask me to wait an approximate of 40 min. They either need to hire new people or go bankrupt. Employees are rude as hell.
You order something but they give you whatever they want to. When you get home.. surprise!!! Is not what you wanted to eat
Okay, I wrote a review about a month ago and it wasn't bad but yesterday's experience was HORRIBLE! My pan con pollo was full of skin, my mom's yuca was overcooked and the mojarra frita was so dry! And get this, the worker there refused to give us more napkins because she said she already gave us too many. We spent close to $100 and they complained about napkins, wow! Well the food was horrible. You can definitely say I'm not going back.
Ordered 12 pupusas 11 special bc it was Thursday and one regular priced at 3 dollars(cheese pupusa). The beans where smokey and tasted burnt and the cheese one bearly had any cheese in them . I also got 2 peperechas and they were dry and hard as a rock. Lastly they where rude and we asked for more curtido and where charged another 3 dollars for some more after we order 12 which was suffice for that amount. Anyways no napkins first and last time here.
This was my first time ordering here.. I ordered pupusas and a breakfast plate and let me tell you that, I have never had such a horrible food.. this food is not Salvadorian at all.. The pupusas taste horrible the cheese in it was not even melted.. the pan dulce was super old and hard, that I couldn't even bite on it. I felt that I just wasted my money at this place..I will never come back or order from this place again.
I ordered food and was told to wait an estimated 20 minutes. 30 minutes after, I arrived. I was totally ignored while the employees spread rumors and played music on the back area. I waited and shortly after another customer arrived. They attended her right away, therefore she is a regular, I was noticed, but ignored. I eventually left, and had a random number contact me via text. One of the employees apparently texted me, threating me to not come back, like if I even wanted to. On a call she told my girlfriend it was all my fault, obviously not wanting to own up to her mistake. She told her a different story which I find comic because not once did we exchange any words. Yet she was rapid to blame me and even though she ignored me, knew exactly who I was.I'm not here to talk down on anyone, but please improve your service and learn to take responsibility. Also, mis raices is down a few blocks. Their food is better and cheaper, and they actually pay attention to the customers. Just saying.
First they have that they open at 6am sunday looked through pictures it said 7am went at 7:45am they open until 8am. The atol de elote is bland no flavor whatsoever. They charge $2 for a tamal de pollo which is 1.75 for pure masa and .75cents for uncook potato huge piece of bell pepper and a tiny piece of chicken. The tamale is also so dry and felt old. Then the pan frances is so old the inside cracks when it is cut. I spent $32 for 12 tamales that i wont even eat 9 breads that the birds wont even eat and an atol that i drank only less than half. Its expensive for low quality food dont go there they do not have a salvadorean cooking their food if its this bad.
THEY Are not wearing mask I just stop and order for the first time, but I was chock to see how dirty is the restaurant, cash register, counters, little teas on top, they keep sweet bread on top of the counter, and I just saw a men put his arm on the plastic pack bread and breath with out a mask, I will never come back here, ever. I It is a Dirty restaurant...
