We stayed at the Hyatt Regency and had breakfast at the 1890 restaurant the next morning. Its named after the year the Arcade in Cleveland was first opened. Breakfast was solid and the service was good. They had a nice crowd the morning we visited, the restaurant was busy.
Food was delicious. Had breakfast avocado 🥑 toast, French toast . And coffee.
1890 was absolutely amazing! The food pictured was very good! The coffee was also amazing and I’m very picky about the coffee! I also thought the service was superior, our server, Amber, was very knowledgeable about the vegan options on the menu and was very helpful with everything! I don’t know why this restaurant is rated so low because everything was amazing about it and I’d definitely return!
Came here again in 2023 and still was given the same great service as before, the people remembered me. I’ll always come back here
Great food and service. Nice plate presentation.
A great hotel restaurant. Fast friendly service. The breakfast potatoes are fantastic and my coffee cup was never empty.
I have to say, this was one of our best experiences at a restaurant. The servers, Lexi & Shelly, were amazing! As soon as we were seated, they were so nice. Happy hour was a plus, great prices on wine and appetizers! If you get anything, I’d highly recommend their reuben and fries. It was AMAZING! My girlfriend had the margherita pizza and that was super good too! Overall, great service and even better food! Prices are what you’d expect at a place like this. Highly recommend!!
We stayed at the Hyatt for three days and ate at the 1890 for breakfast. The food was never a disapointment. It was tasteful and filling. The staff was cheerful especially Freddie. He always greeted us with a smile and a kind word. Made our morning.
My husband and I went in 1890 lounge to have a drink and bite to eat before Cavs game! It was my birthday🎉💜🎉💜our bartender Tamara was so nice and kind!!! It's definitely a hidden gem! Thanks again for making my birthday perfect. I would highly recommend.
I absolutely loved this restaurant. I ate here 3 days while staying at the Hyatt. The food was great and the service was impeccable, especially one employee, named Freddie, who's cheerful nature and friendly attitude was contagious and increased the overall experience. It's wonderful to see people that still have such great customer service skills
Excellent service. Really top notch. It felt special. We went for breakfast and got the Challa French toast and it was to die for. So good.
Amazing bagel and lox breakfast in a beautiful setting! We had drinks in the bar one evening and the martinis were delicious too!
Stayed at the Hyatt and had drinks in the lounge. Cheri was the bartender and took great care of us . She made everyone feel welcome and had us all laughing. Hope shes there the next time we stay!!!
Amazing place for breakfast! Cool, classy atmosphere, incredible food, friendly staff. Top notch.
Fantastic breakfast. Little pricey but thoughtful and delicious. (Braised pork shoulder... I substituted scrambled for fried eggs and got fruit instead of potatoes.... Big bowl of fruit done right.) bravo, 1890. You rock
Beautiful café in a beautiful hotel, very relaxing and the food was good.
The French toast was delectable, and it was nice being able to walk down from the hotel straight to breakfast. Also the waitress and host were very friendly.
Amazing service there really nice, amazing food couldn’t say anything negative Amazing atmosphere
Breakfast was included with our stay at the iconic Cleveland Arcade Hyatt Regency. Honestly the best part of our breakfast was meeting Freddie Louis (Lewis😉- ask him to explain this and asked to see the unusual fish he caught!). He has been there for 18 years! The coffee is delicious. The restaurant itself is impeccably, decorated and clean with beautiful windows to the center of the arcade. They also have an attached bar area that we had had a drink at, the night before. The breakfast potatoes are on point! Crispy on the outside with tender potato on the inside. Delicious! Your breakfast burrito was acceptable. Not exceptional. Better out of The flour tortilla. The pancakes look delicious, although we did not get them as well as their waffles which can have fried chicken wings added to for chicken and waffles.
I couldn’t give a 4.5 so I’m giving them a 5 and here’s why - great customer service, great food, reasonable prices, spacious seating, and it’s clean! It isn’t the swankiest or most upscale of hotel bars, but they make up for it in every other way. In the week I spent there, my servers Cheryl and Duane were attentive, polite and engaging. The menu options are pretty bar-typical but I really appreciated the vegan options. Nice job Hyatt team!!
When we arrived at the beautiful restaurant , we were greeted by Freddie who was so personable and knowledgeable of the history of the hotel. Freddie had excellent suggestions for shopping and directions. The food was excellent at breakfast the first day and we mentioned we would be back the next day. I prefer Coke products and was disappointed that only Pepsi products were available. The next morning Freddie had a 12 ounce Diet Coke for me that he had bought on his way home from work the previous evening. This man goes above and beyond the job. You are so very lucky to have him. Thanks again. Freddie.
Thank you so much for the staff! First of all the place has a great setting no matter where you sit especially if you’re by the window to look at the arcade! The food is beyond amazing & reasonably priced & good amount for what you pay for! The staff is friendly, attentive, & helpful! After breakfast, I decided to surprise my gf with a proposal at the arcade, and the staff was able to help me in on my idea and make out moment special and one to remember! Absolutely wonderful! I would highly recommend this restaurant & can’t wait to go back & not only reflect on our magical moment, enjoy some delicious food!
We ordered room delivery, and the food was okay—nothing exceptional, but decent. The service was also fine, though nothing stood out. I did visit the restaurant briefly, and it had a nice ambiance with a pleasant vibe. Might be worth dining in for a better overall experience.
We chose this location for breakfast and while the food was very good the price point was much more in keeping with a lunch or brunch pricing spending easily $35 per person prior to tip ($10 of that was for the coffee and the Diet Coke). That being said it was good and well prepped. Definitely great service for all the staff who hustled all the time. Would suggest this for the business traveler jumping down for a quick breakfast at the hotel prior to meetings, but for the leisure traveler come for the service and the atmosphere.
Friendly service, I really enjoyed my time there. The food was fairly standard, though a little on the pricey side, but the view is fantastic
The Old Arcade in Cleveland, Ohio is a great historic landmark. Currently, it host the Hyatt Hotel with the 1890 Resturant. This restaurant has a killer breakfast menu and a nice space for an after work wine & dine. The entire staff is welcoming but Denisha, my hostess, was pleasant and kind. Great way 2cthecity.
Not many dishes on the menu, but great customer service. My salad was prepared well.
Everyone there was very friendly, but the prices are quite high. The food taste great, but it was still quite expensive for what it was.
Eggs benny at bfast was fantastic. Limited dinner menu.
The restaurant had THE BEST service. Tbh, everyone at the hotel who worked for the hotel were super nice. The breakfast was honestly awesome, they had options for vegan and non vegan, on top of just being seriously accommodating and helpful. The lounge food on the other hand, just wasn't good at all. Wilty lettuce, microwaved chicken etc. Again tho, the staff was always friendly and willing to accommodating. The only reason I'm not giving it five stars is because of the above. AND the fact that the actual restaurant isn't open for dinner. What a bummer. And the atmosphere NEEDS an update. Its crazy dated in there.
The waiters were extremely kind and welcoming. That was the best part of my experience. It's slightly overpriced (buffet).
Had breakfast since staying at hotel. Food was OK, coffee was terrible. Head downstairs to Rising Star for a decent cup.
Went to the lounge for a drink & app. Pretty disappointed overall. Not what we expected. My husband got an Octoberfest on draft because it was on sale for $4 he said it tasted old. Like it had been tapped for months... I ordered a glass of wine that was supposed to be $8 and I was charged $11. It was a really gross wine, Chaser Cab. I love Cabernets but something was majorly off with this one. Maybe it was old too?? The waiter was really nice & the soft pretzels were delicious. The atmosphere in the arcade is cool too, but we won't be coming back.
The waitress was very nice. Didn't like the food. I got a burger and fries. Not their fault. But there was a blonde woman that was loud and annoying . She was killing the atmosphere.
Super underwhelming breakfast for not great prices. Hash browns sucked and were clearly frozen potatoes. 13.50 for 2 eggs potatoes and toast. Mimosas were super small and not great. Service was friendly and amenable.
Dry omlette. Raw hashbrowns. Fruit bowl was good. Mimosas were all orange juice. Server was friendly but hard to get her attention. Overpriced for for the quality.
Highly priced food for small portions. Food took forever to come out as did the check. Wish I could give a better rating since the staff was friendly.
Very good food but poor service and we were told that we could not use restrooms as there was a party that Sunday morning.
We ordered garlic fries, chicken pot stickers, a burger, and a flat iron steak. The food was terrible, and the server couldn’t care less. The only good thing about this place is the atmosphere.
The atmosphere is decent and honestly the only reason we eat here is that its free for hyatt globalists. If you are here on a sunday and they have the buffett, definitely order from the menu. The eggs on the buffett are absolutly inedible and the premade waffles could break a window if thrown at one. From the menu, the standard eggs and poratoes are ok although overcooked. Service is spotty as well. Honestly i would only eat here if you are a hyatt globalist as its included, otherwise go somewhere else.
The wait was unbelievably long. For coffee, for an order, to get the food. Just insane. Then the food came. Cold. Very mid as well. You can see the pics. The omelette was decent. The Benedict was terrible.
I personally would not recommend. Food is okay. Nothing exciting. I would recommend that if the staff wants to have conversations about there personal lives, they do not congregate next to the tables.
If it were possible to give zero stars, that is what I would give. We waited for 25 min. for a table when there were only 3 tables with people at them. Most of the tables were sitting with dirty dishes on them. The food was marginal, at best. The server moved us from our original table so she could have all of her tables in the same area. She took our order and we never saw her again at our table. Our food came out wrong 3 times. And finally, we waited 20 min. to pay our check. I would not recommend this place even to my worst enemy.
The only thing worse than this bar would be the very closely named 1899. My friend had his wedding party stay at the Hyatt hotel so we had the after party at this bar. Unfortunately, despite all the business we brought them and while actively spending money buying drinks at their bar, the staff was rude to myself and many others. The bride and groom ordered food to the lobby of the hotel and they told me and my wife we had to leave their bar because she was eating food in the lobby versus ordering from their kitchen. I hope the owner realizes how many of us left and we’re only looking to continue to have a few drinks last night. It’s a shame that the staff turned away our business, as we would have been eating the food in the lobby the bride and groom had ordered regardless of drinking at this establishment. We gladly took the after party to a location nearby.
We stayed at the hotel on Thanksgiving and everything was closed, after a movie around 10pm we stopped by because my husband was hungry, we asked a guy at the bar if they're still open and we can order some food and he said yes. I didn't order anything but my husband. The guy asked if we want anything to drink or just water and my husband said he wanted some water. He gave a glass of water to my husband, only my husband, not me. Maybe if you didn't order food you can't have water! What a service.
Stayed at the hotel in the arcade and came here for breakfast. The continental breakfast was not good. Soggy oatmeal, lukewarm breakfast meats. My husband ordered off the breakfast menu and was sick afterwards.
Had the grain bowl - over cooked quinoa, raw sweet potato, a few pieces of kale and some mushrooms. Maybe other items are better but it was terrible.
We Sat over 25 minutes without any server even looking at us, while they walked around and filled everyone's water and coffee! Will never recommend or go back. Awful experience
Wish we could taste the food or service but we were there for 30 minutes and received none. Nice ambience of you like sitting and talking
Literally the worst service I’ve ever experienced in a restaurant. Over 1 1/2 hours waiting on our food and the restaurant wasn’t even at half capacity. For simple bar food it’s unimaginable. This place needs some serious staff training.
