Sometimes you find yourself in Cogoleto on a Monday, January 29th. It's sunny and warm. You take a stroll and, for the first time in many years, you decide to stop here not for coffee or an aperitif, but for lunch. We sit down, the very kind young lady shows us where to sit, few people at the tables, more for aperitifs than lunch. Then, suddenly, I don't know what happened, but people started arriving, stopping and sitting down for lunch. A man at the bar, the young lady, and someone in the kitchen—yes! Like a MasterChef stress test. It's in situations like these that you see if you're good at what you do, and here, at the Café del Mar, they handled the situation very well. On the bright side, two mixed fried dishes, but the fish was very fresh. The prawns smelled of the sea, the calamari was tender. The dishes arrived at all the tables fairly quickly. When I paid the bill, the waitress told me, "I called for reinforcements from the evening shift." 👏 Applause, well done and an excellent team. What more can I say? Try it.

While searching for a place open in May in Cogoleto, we came across this charming place. Not just a bar and aperitifs, but also expertly crafted dishes. Among the dishes we tried, the stuffed anchovies deserve a special mention for their well-balanced flavors. The pansotti and trofie were good, but not unforgettable. Pay attention to the service, which needs to be more attentive. The focaccia should also be served at least lukewarm so as not to be "elastic"! The bathroom could also be kept a little tidier and provided with a toilet seat and paper seat covers. How else would the ladies cope?

For an aperitivo, a get-together with friends... but also for a bite to eat. The food pleasantly surprised me: the selection is limited (a couple of appetizers, first courses, and second courses...) but well-executed and tasty. The trofie allo scoglio (seafood pasta) was a pleasant surprise. The stuffed anchovies are excellent, worth the trip!
