Customer Service is great here. Staff is very polite and familiar with the menu. Salsa and chips I had for appetizers while waiting for dinner were very good. The salsa was fresh and spicy. It was very thick and stuck to chips. The chips were fresh and crisp. A great combination. They have breakfast all day. Plus the serve Mexican food, American food, sea food, salads, deserts, and more! The menu is massive. I ordered the fried catfish. It was a very thin fillet. Crisp and tasty. Not as meaty as I would of liked, but still good because the batter reminded me of the Sunday meals my grandfather would cook up when I was a kid. The fries are homemade, but a little too oily for me. Salad was fresh and tasty too. I did not use any dressing. They helped celebrate two birthdays while I was eating and it was nice tof see. A very family friendly stop worth making.

Our server was such a sweet guy...very polite and energetic. Our food came rather quickly and was extremely good. We were pleasantly surprised. Thank you for serving Coleman Texas. You are an asset to the community 😄😄😄😄😜

I pulled into town and asked a couple locals where is the go-to spot for breakfast and both said Hidalgo‘s café . I’m so glad I stopped in I. I ordered the steak and eggs breakfast and I was pleasantly surprised by the spice in the steak as well as their very hot & tasty salsa

Our South Texas bunch stopped in while in the area for an event. Besides calling tacos burritos it's very comparable in Tex-Mex flavors from home. If you are hankering for a glass of sweet tea, they can serve that right up- it's sweet! We rate resturants on tea and chips and they did well on both. The chips were thin and cripsy and salsa had a pleasant kick to it. Only reason why we gave them a 4-star rating is how hot the dining area was when we were there. Albeit was 103° outside that day, it was a humid 83°inside, even though it was set to 72°. Made our tummys churn from the heat. So we packed up our plates and took them to go. The food was very tasty and was even good when we reheated it later. Would be happy to stop in again, when cooler.

First time eating here in a couple of months & we were mildly disappointed. They updated their menu & discontinued the Enchiladas Rancheras (ground beef enchiladas with green sauce & a fried egg on top). I had the same enchiladas with the chile sauce (like tamale gravy). It was good, but not the same. Husband had Chile Rellenos, which were "good" according to him. Smaller peppers than he remembered, but he knows the restaurant doesn't have control over what size peppers are delivered. The hot sauce keeps getting milder every time we come here. The rice was good & the guacamole was fine. Overall our meal was okay & we will eat there again. It just wasn't as good as it has been in the past.

Food was bland, except the salsa. Not thrilled to see waitstaff eat their own food few tables down from us, then return to waiting tables without proper hand hygiene before or after.

Wasn’t really impressed. Had to ask the waitress for a refill on my water, my over medium eggs came out more over easy, after it took a while for the waitress to even take our order, then took another 45 minutes to get our food and when we got there they wasn’t even that busy. And way over priced for what you got. Not a great experience.

Although they’ve got great staff I’m less than pleased. The catfish was small chunks of fish that were mostly from the fry and basically no fish in it and the shrimp were $1 a piece for pretty small shrimp. When they told me they was $1 each I expected something of decent size. The fries tasted like they were older as well. Probably won’t be coming back here, I remember when this place was literally the best place I’d eaten. Their servers are amazing though, super sweet and very helpful

Close to our lease, waited over one hour for food never was served. Payed for drinks and left, the lack of customer service was awful.

If I could rate this place 0 stars, I would!! We waited 1 hour for food and it was cold!!! It was the Worst breakfest experience I've ever had!!! I should have just eaten at the Alsups down the road. Disgusting!!!!

Worst breakfast ever. We waited over an hour for pancakes, 2 eggs with bacon, and it came out ice cold. Terrible service and food. I suggest finding another spot to eat.

So I’m not from Coleman but I travel and work in Coleman. I sometimes stay around 2 weeks. Hidalgo has always been out, go to eating spot. The very best. But we get to Coleman today and stopped by there (first time since about a month). I don’t know what happened but the food was not the same. Kind of gross. Rice looked and tasted like something that came out of the box. I asked for sour cream sauce, like I always do and they don’t even serve it any more!!!!!! The tort around my enchiladas just fell apart. The meat defiantly had a very strange taste. I’m not for sure what happened but something defiantly has changed. The waitress was great, as always. We won’t be going back. So sad to see this change. We have family and friends that comes and see us while we work here and that where we go but not any more until something changes. 😢
