Velvet Taco is honestly one of my favorite spots in town. The food is consistently very good, and what really makes the place stand out is the creativity behind the concept. This isn’t your typical Mexican taco spot. Velvet Taco pulls inspiration from a wide range of cuisines and cultures, which results in some really unique and interesting tacos. The variety of flavors they put into their tacos makes the whole experience fun. You’ll find combinations that you normally wouldn’t expect in a taco, but somehow they work really well. It feels like they’re always experimenting in a good way. Service has always been great whenever I’ve come here, and the overall vibe of the place makes it an easy spot to keep coming back to. Honestly, it’s hard to go wrong with anything on the menu. If you like tacos and enjoy trying creative flavor combinations, this place is definitely worth a visit. I highly recommend it.
Ryane was amazing! she was very knowledgeable with the menu and was very patient while I was trying to figure out my order! She is very accommodating to personal needs and knows how to treat people! I’d give her 10 stars if I could! I don’t know what they are doing there, but whatever it is it’s phenomenal. OH and the food was delicious! Id recommend this place to anyone who is looking for amazing food and and great customer service!!

The food was AMAZING!! So refreshing to eat at a restaurant that serves plant based foods as a complete dish. I had the veggie bowl, tofu tacos and cauliflower tacos. Everything was BEYOND delicious. Will definitely be back!
First time to try them and it was very good! Cant wait to come back! I couldn't wait to eat the shrimp bowl and and mixed it all up before the pic lol
Velvet Taco never disappoints, but this visit was truly outstanding thanks to the manager, Heather. From the moment we walked in, the service was warm, attentive, and incredibly well-run. Heather went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect, and it honestly made the whole experience even better. You can tell she truly cares about both the customers and the team. Amazing gluten free food, amazing atmosphere, and exceptional service — Heather absolutely deserves a raise! We’ll definitely be back.

Velvet taco will forever be one of my favorite places in College station. I absolutely love their elote and queso, I usually try a different taco every time and have yet to get something bad. They have such kind people that work there and I always feel so welcomed. They are super efficient on getting food out quick and getting the tables cleaned and ready to go. I would give them 10 stars if I could:)

I had such a fantastic experience at Velvet Taco in College Station, all thanks to Heather! From the moment I walked in, she greeted me with the warmest smile and made me feel like a regular, even though it was my first visit. She went above and beyond to explain the menu, offer recommendations, and even checked back in to make sure everything was perfect. Heather has the kind of energy that instantly brightens your day! She was friendly, attentive, and genuinely caring. She made the whole meal feel special, not just like another quick stop for food. On top of that, my order was spot-on and delivered with great service. Velvet Taco already has amazing food, but Heather takes the experience to another level. If you’re coming to the College Station location, definitely hope you get Heather, because she’s the definition of excellent service!
We are regulars at this spot and always have great service and food is consistently good. Love the WTF taco menu to keep things different and they have really good Vegetarian options

One of the best places to enjoy Tacos! If you are in the area you must try this place. Angus beef tacos and shrimp tacos are the best! Fast service, charming atmosphere, polite and knowledgeable staff. Enjoyed this visit very much! Will return again when back in the area.
Amazing Tacos and open late! Try the cauliflower taco. It is one of my new favorites and I normally love meat tacos! It was awesome! I hate saying it but the beef chimi was my least favorite due to being a bit tough. Tikka chicken was good but not amazing.

Ordered the SAY WHAT combo to get two tacos, a side and a drink for $14.50 - a great deal! I didn’t get his name, but the guy with the dreads was super helpful and so nice from the moment we walked in. My favorite taco today was the fish n’ chips taco, and friend’s was the salmon. No wait at 3 pm.
This place is great… but… the food is AMAZING!!!! I have NEVER had an experience like this just putting food in my mouth… You ALL need to go here and eat THE WHOLE MENU!
Just needed a quick snack so stopped by the Velvet Taco in Century Square on my way back to the hotel. Was pleasantly surprised by this really cool restaurant and impressed that the Buffalo chicken taco was so incredibly good!!
The food is very tasty, and they offer unique tacos. I liked the presentation of the tacos and the service. I’m not giving five stars because they’re not authentic Mexican tacos—they’re more of a gourmet and expensive version. However, I assure you that the taste is really good. The meat is not dry, and the vegetables are fresh.
Great place for hanging out with friends. This place has lots of seating and food is good. Visited during the weekend for early dinner there is not much wait. Has paid parking and I would recommend this place. Will visit again soon.
Food was good. As you can see from the photos the chicken taco had limited chicken only a fee pieces but overall everything was delicious 😋
I thought everything was bigger (better) in Texas??? Order the birri duo tacos and a bottle of water. Think was like 10 bucks. Waited almost 15 min for 2 tiny, hardly birria filled tacos...that were stuck together and so small and smashed together I had to take a sec to make sure there was actually 2 tacos there. I will say the food that was going out looked decent. So this just a personal experience. If you go here just get one of the bowls. They look better then the tacos going out.
