The Collective Offshore is absolutely wonderful: food, service (thank you Sawyer!!!!!❤️), ambience, everything! For starters we had the Offshore Salad and Bang Bang Oysters. The Offshore Salad was wonderful! We loved the sourdough croutons. We split it ourselves at the table, but that was absolutely perfect. And...the bang bang oysters, we loved them. For drinks, I had the Offshore Painkiller and the hubs had It's a Vibe. Mine was strong but not too strong and the hubs loved his drink as well!!! For dinner, I had the Columbia Catch (grouper) and the hubs had the Kittayamundi (Branzino). Absolutely amazing. On mine the chef contrasted the creamy sauce with an amazing wild rice and for the hubs, his caper/lemony sauce was contrasted by a more risotto style rice! For dessert, as it was a special occasion, we received a cinnamon toast crunch tres leches and ordered the key lime cheesecake. Both were amazing! The sweetness was present without being overpowering. For the view, we looked out over the lake, which was so peaceful. Then the decor was just so calming with dark blues and offset with lighter tones and mixed in ocean colors. We will definitely return!
I had an amazing dinner here! I ordered the fresh catch branzino with green beans and a house side salad. Everything was cooked perfectly and full of flavor. The service was excellent, friendly, attentive, and welcoming from start to finish. The only minor challenge was finding the entrance; it’s tucked away with limited signage, so keep an eye out when you arrive. Once inside, the atmosphere and food make it absolutely worth it. Highly recommend for a great dining experience in Columbia.
Great experience from the time we walked in the door until we left. Hostess acknowledged our anniversary on arrival. Our waiter TyShawn was excellent, attentive and informative. The food was amazing and the carrot cake was melt in your mouth delicious.
A favorite hidden date night, happy hour, location! Beautiful views of the lake, good ambiance, great bartenders and servers! Easy to get to location as well! Highly recommend to try the establishment!
Fantastic experience! Wife and I were randomly looking for something to do Friday and I found a band I never heard before called The Kelly Bell Band and a place I never been before called The Encore. This led to an exciting night of good food, fun and music! The staff super friendly and responsive, the was really especially the Steak and Cheese sub! The band would absolutely incredible! Afterwards I spoke with each band member and could not be more humble and accommodating! The Encore and The Kelly Bell Band have fans for life!
Offshore is a total vibe! The space is clean, beautifully designed, and overlooks the stunning Lake Kittamaqundi. Aryah, our waitress, was super sweet and helpful. We had the burrata bruschetta to start (so fresh!), the Offshore burger (medium rare, perfection), and the lamb chops (tender and full of flavor). Food came out fast and everything hit the spot. Highly recommend if you’re in Columbia and want a great meal with a great view!
Am a seafood" connoisseur. Seattle? Yes? Aruba? Yes! NJ? Yes! San Diego?! Yes! Miami? Yes! Maryland? Yup! Lived here 16 years up until 9-11. Just moved back a month ago. Love this place! Atmosphere. Incredible! Staff. Awesome! Food! Fantastic! Just wish they wouldn't "kill" my asparagus!(picture attached). Can't wait for my female friend to visit from Italy so I can bring her here.
We came here on a Monday evening with our two small children to celebrate our anniversary and had a wonderful experience. Granted, they were not busy, but the service was so attentive and I especially appreciated that our servers treated our girls like princesses. I was disappointed that they were out of the lobster roll, but my rockfish was cooked to perfection and my husband enjoyed the scallops. They even included a champagne toast at the end of the meal for us. Sitting outside with a view of the lake was lovely. We will be back for sure.
Excited to try the long awaited Clyde's replacement. Atmosphere was a inviting and open nautical theme, the complete opposite to the more dark and traditional Clyde's. Service was excellent, front desk was friendly and professional. Server was attentive and engaging. Food was excellent, on taste, portion size and temp. I had the Columbia Halibut which was on point. Could have done with a little more rice, but I can appreciate the size of my fish. Drinks were also pretty solid although not as good as the food. Dessert needs a little work! I'd highly recommend checking out this place.
We had our wedding here in May, and my goodness the service was beautiful and the team was so accommodating and thoughtful! Rhea worked with us months ahead of time to be sure our vision could come to life! A breezy casual cocktail style wedding in the daytime. They sourced high top cocktail tables, a bar, and perfect service during our very special event. The staff were considerate of our non alcoholic guests and provided fun surprises mocktails. Appropriate pricing and fair, the setting of the offshore is beautiful and the Map Room & Lake Room is a great combination for a small intimate event.
Impeccable services and a true culinary delight with amazing views. I chose this restaurant to celebrate a special occasion with my very special guests who traveled from out of town. From the moment we stepped in, we enjoyed the refined ambiance, personal attention and services from Mr. N. Hass. I learned about this place while attending a business Networking luncheon at the collective encore, right next door. The seafood selection was exquisite and delicious. The gorgeous Lakeview from our table was unforgettable.
This was a very pleasant experience. Very nice atmosphere and the staff is pleasant. Very cozy airy feel to the restaurant. The food was amazing. Everything was so good. I highly recommend this place. It’s perfect for wedding events birthdays and celebrations
This is our first time returning to this location after Clyde was closed. We are glad this beautiful location finally got to put for good use. Offshore definitely gave out a beachy vibe. We liked the interior beach color theme , looks refreshing and relaxing. And that full water-view just wonderful. We received great service and delicious foods. Lamb chops were so juicy contender; wagyu burger is a must to try. & their specials were attractive as well, only wished we had 2 stomaches to eat more. They have blue cheese olives to go with dirty martinis, which was definitely a plus. Highly recommend & will return.
I had an incredible dining experience at The Offshore Collection! From the moment I sat down, the service was warm and attentive. The biscuits were perfectly flaky, a great way to start the meal, and my drink was refreshing and well-made. But the real highlight was the fresh crabcake—hands down one of the best I've ever had. It was packed with flavor, light on filler, and tasted so fresh, it felt like it had just come straight from the water. The atmosphere was laid-back yet elegant, and every detail was thoughtfully executed. I can't wait to return and try more from their menu! Highly recommend.
Great food, great service and great ambiance. Love the selection of seasonal items as well as classic ones. Their cocktail selection is also great. The convenient free parking across the street is a great plus and the lake side views make for an enchanting atmosphere. Can’t wait to return!
The food was very good, the menu was filled with combinations of dishes that I hadn't had before. It was my first time here and this is my new favorite spot. Beautiful decor, every inch of The Collective was exactly what every dining experience should be. And although I didn't get a chance to stop in, The Collective Encore which was a moment away had awesome music playing I look forward to enjoying in the future.
Really great food, some a bit in the salty side but still very good. Had the Lamb Chops which were outstanding and enough to satisfy a good appetite. Next time we will need to check out a show next door as the concert hall looked really nice.
Right on the water and great atmosphere inside makes for a great date night spot. Extremely friendly service. Recommend getting any of the appetizers, the crab cake platter, and the salmon.
(Forgot to take photos before we started eating) An excellent spot for dinner! Great atmosphere and food. Everything we ordered was flavorful and prepared very well. The service was also great. The Food: We ordered the peel and eat shrimp to share and three entrees. Bucatini was a good portion size, the Halibut (Columbia Catch) tasted great and while the halibut portion was excellent, it could have used more vegetables on the side. Finally, the scallops were also great and prepared well but overall felt like it could have also had a vegetable side. What I’d loved to see changed: The descriptions on the food - scallops should say “topped with” crispy carrots because the description made it sound like a side. The halibut also sounded like it came with a side of asparagus but it was actually just two pieces. We also ordered a side of scallops which came with three - and we felt that it should have been four at the size that was served (the value for what we paid was off - could have just ordered a fourth entree for a few bucks more) There just needed to be more veggies/stuff in all the entrees. Either raise the price and include a side, or decrease price on a la carte sides. Finally, we hope they add more options on the menu. There’s not enough options to come as a regular, but if we’re in the mood for halibut or scallops we’d come back. Overall, would recommend and will be back!
I enjoy spending time at the lake and decided to try this place out, as it is fairly new. I was very pleased with the service and menu. I was seated immediately at a table of my choosing and the staff were attentive and kind. I tried the Chesapeake Arancini, Salmon Orzo Pasta (I hope they add this dish to the menu permanently!!), and Lemon Bar. It was absolutely delicious!! I can’t wait to return again, it was a great experience :)
The collective offshore is a fun new addition to Columbia's waterfront. Ambiance is fancy/playful, service is wonderful, drink and food options are inspired and well executed. We've gone twice now in the last month and can't wait until the next visit.
Great addition to the Columbia food scene! Lovely space with a great view of the lakefront. Phenomenal staff: friendly, professional, and efficient. Focuses on Maryland's seafood traditions. Calamari appetizer was generous, well seasoned but would have benefited from a lighter spicy tomato-based sauce. The shrimp BLT sandwich was good. The crabcake sandwich was...OK. The crabcake was a little dry and salty-unusual for a MD crabcake. To its credit, it had lots of crabmeat. Add this restaurant to your list of very good places to eat in Columbia!
From the time I was greeted by the hostess and saw how bright and airy the restaurant was, I knew it was going to be a great experience. Lucky for us, it was a nice day and we were able to enjoy lunch outside. Kyra F was our server and she was amazing!!! Very attentive and we never had to ask for anything. The food was fresh (bruschetta) and the food temperature was perfect (scallops & corn). I will definitely be back and will ask for Kyra!!!
New seafood based restaurant in the Old Clydes space. They did a great job making the space brighter and more open while retaining the classic feel (and great bar area). We did a happy hour there for drinks and it was great. Definitely recommend the Kittamaquandi Crush and Hush Puppies. Both were great.
This restaurant just opened about 3 weeks ago. The food was very good. We had the chicken wings and bread basket with the old bay butter. The the Halibut with rice. and Mahi Mahi with a lobster hash. Nice and clean inside. Our waiter, Jordan, was very attentive. Will definitely go back.
Very good food, ambience & service during the Valentine's Day show. However, they may want to consider adding security due to a heckler up front who was continuing to disrupt the performance. The band remained professional despite the heckler's constant attempts to interrupt the show.
Dining at Offshore is always a treat! From the relaxing atmosphere, the gorgeous lake view, comfortable seating, option to eat outdoors, live music on occasion, Offshore delivers a lovely experience. The menu's carefully chosen food is a good fit for any time of day. I especially love their salmon, wings, and later ending happy hour, and on the weekends, Offshore is a great brunch spot, with a bottomless mimosa/bellini/bloody mary option and well-priced ideal brunch options. Friendly, informed staff and reasonable turn around time with food. Encore is adjacent and is a great option for live music events+food.
Sat in the bar area and Jackie was amazing. She made a great manhattan and paper plane which is my fav! So nice and attentive! The food is great here! I have never had a bad experience!
We enjoyed lunch here for the time. The place is beautiful with a nautical theme and everywhere I looked was so clean. We sat right on the lakefront and the view was great and our waiter was as well. He never provided his name so I don’t have that. We had calamari as an appetizer and it was delicious, crispy and plentiful. I had a shrimp wrap and my husband had a chicken mozzarella sandwich of some sort, don’t recall the names, both were tasty. The food took quite a while, and the place was empty. I’m assuming they only have one chef in the late afternoon. The other positive comment is the temperature of the room was perfect. Some restaurants are so cold in summertime. Definitely give the place a try.
The best dining experience I've had! From the atmosphere to the food and the service, everything was impeccable! The buratta is absolutely delicious as an appetizer but all the food was amazing. Highly recommend!
I hosted my daughter's baby shower in the Map and Lake Rooms this last Sunday. Our servers, Jordan and Auria, did a wonderful job making sure everything ran smoothly with appetizers, mimosa bar, and food service, and anything else we needed. The food was great! Rea, the coordinator, also was extremely helpful and knowledgeable with coordinating all aspects of the baby shower. I would definitely recommend having an event here.
Good Experience but WHERE IS EVERYBODY? Our High School happy hour crew decided to check this place out because it was central to our locations. Old Clydes - Nicely decorated for Christmas and great location on the lake. We got there around 4 and had a great table reserved in the bar. THE PLACE (which is ginourmous) was EMPTY. Not one other person - and stayed that way until 6 pm. Very strange. And then only a few folks wandered in. Our server Carmen was great - and the food and drinks were good - nothing amazing but solid. Raw Oysters, Calamari, and some Nacho chips. - all at happy hour prices. This turned out better than if we were at a packed, noisy place - we all had plenty of room and the conversation was key. We would check it out again.
Our group of 13 had a great first visit to The Collective Offshore, now in the space where Clyde’s used to be. The setting by Lake Kittamaquandi is lovely, and the coastal-inspired décor feels bright and welcoming. Our server was fantastic and handled separate checks with ease. A special shout-out to the chef, who went above and beyond to accommodate one of our friends with multiple food allergies—he even met her personally to ensure her meal was safe. Everyone enjoyed their dishes. My crab cake entrée was excellent—mostly lump crab with minimal filler—and the sauces and sides were well thought out. The seasonal Pumpkin Pie Bread Pudding was a delicious finish! Prices are on the higher side, but the food, service, and atmosphere make it worth it. I’d definitely return for a date night or special occasion.
Went last Saturday to The Collective Offshore for a birthday dinner. I hadn’t heard of the restaurant before until a friend recommended it for its convenience and seafood offerings. Located on the waterfront in Columbia, MD, the spot was bustling with energy. Our waiter, I believe his name was Treyshawn, had a great personality and made the evening enjoyable. We started with cocktails, including a pear cocktail with a subtle fall flavor that was delightful. For dinner, we had the cream of crab soup, which was rich and flavorful, followed by a lobster risotto, garlic green beans, and a charred Caesar salad with grilled romaine leaves. The lobster risotto was creamy with generous chunks of lobster claw meat, and although I could have skipped the anchovies, the charred Caesar salad’s smoky flavor paired beautifully with the balsamic dressing, elevating the dish to another level. The music and ambience were enjoyable. They also have a companion restaurant with live music, patio seating for nice weather, and a welcoming bar and dining area, which adds to the overall experience. Would definitely go again perhaps for brunch or happy hour.
Had a meeting nearby and decided to stop by. No reservations needed. Most of the patrons were in the advanced stages of life and I suspect they were the target demographic. I had the crab arancini and fried calamari. The arancini was worth returning for but the calamari was flavorless.
Nice decoration feel like we were at the beach. Our table has beautiful lake views. Sunday menu was limited due to Sunday brunch. I had ahi tuna salad, lots of tuna but very little salad, i was hoping for more salad.
I like the atmosphere here and the food is pretty good. 25years in the food management industry I tend to be a little critical on "steps-of-service" and with every visit here I feel as though there is an area of opportunity for this place. However, I am not knocking them, I overall rather enjoy this place.
15Aug.2023 There was no wait. Seated quickly. Service was smooth and food was delicious. Drinks were great. The Wagyu burger and fries were good. This was an old Clyde’s and it got revamped. The over all dining experience was great for my first time there. Very welcoming. Great music. Me and my friends will be back again. Get your mint out of the bowl before you leave for the evening.
We went for brunch! We got a shrimp scampi, a wagyu burger, and an egg frittata dish. The shrimp Scampi was great. It had a lot of sauce, and the shrimp was perfectly cooked. It was just a bit smaller than we expected. The waguy burger itself was excellent, but the blue cheese might be overwhelming, so be mindful when ordering if you don't like a strong blue cheese. The fries were seasoned well, but we're slightly soggy. The frittatas were just okay, nothing special. The environment was nice, clean, and spacious and was honestly the highlight of the experience. Overall, 4 stars. Took one star for being on the pricy side and for the frittatas, but the other stars are very well deserved.
Where We Bout To Eat At @thecollectiveoffshore 📍Columbia, MD So my homegirl @its_tammyonthetown treated me to dinner for my birthday and boy did we have a time! @thecollectiveoffshore is a whole VIBE and I can already see myself going back, especially when the weather gets warm! It’s a perfect spot to have food and drinks with your friends or just treat yourself to waterside dining! We tasted several items, including a VERY delicious crab dip, scallops, salmon, and more! And the drinks did what needed to be done! The customer service was amazing as well! Thank you @thecollectiveoffshore for your hospitality! We will be back! #columbiarestaurants #columbiamaryland #columbiaseafood #columbiacocktails #watersidedining #baltimorefoodie #itsdgl #danigirlliving #boujiebudgetblogger
Full menu with a wide selection. Al fresco with our dog. The angus burger was excellent, cooked perfectly to order served with onion straws on top and a side of fresh, crisp sweet potato waffle fries. We also had the double crab cake (one went home with us). Decent size, no filler and lots of lump crabmeat. Very tasty as was the vegetable side sauté.
This is a great location for watching events like cover bands and trivia night. Parking is really easy and free, and the location on the lake makes for a great evening. The food at this venue is mediocre, with not a lot of vegetarian options. But if you don't expect a fancy meal, the entertainment you are there for will usually be great.
Came here for my birthday. Danielle was our server and she was very nice and informative! We came on a Wednesday and Wednesday is there wing night! Atmosphere was nice. I will definitely be back.
Had an early Saturday evening dinner with the kids and grandparents and the place was very empty before the dinner rush. We sat in the main dining room, which had great views overlooking the lake. There's also a lake room that's full of windows with more views, and a map room that we didn't see but were told it's more private and secluded. The food we ordered was all fantastic and cooked to perfection. I highly recommend the waygu burger for those that aren't in the seafood mood. The accompanying fries were excellent and devoured by my picky toddler. I'm not usually a fan of calamari but it was crispy without too much breading. I would've rated this visit 5-stars if not for issues on the service side. Our server was very friendly and likable, but he also appeared to be high on weed. He repeatedly forgot to bring drinks that we asked for, and later in the meal he had long stretches of being M.I.A. when the restaurant filled up with other tables. It took over 20-min for us to get the cheesecake dessert at the end of the meal because our server forgot to put the order in until he came back around to check how the dessert was. By the time the dessert order was in, the kitchen was backed up with other orders so it took even longer. We've sitting for 90-min at that point, so my toddler was getting fussy and ready to leave when the cheesecake finally arrived. It was a very small (but delicious) portion that was gone quickly, but we had to desperately wait for our server to walk by again in order to flag him down for the check, which somehow took another 10-min before the card was run through so we could leave. Hopefully the service issues we experienced are not the norm because the food and atmosphere are top-notch.
Overall I give this restaurant 3/5. The food was good and the atmosphere (4.5/5) and service (4/5) were even better. But for the value of the cost, we give it a 2.5/5. The food was not worth the cost. We had a total of 6 people and a 3 year old and our bill included 20% gratuity, with the total cost = $388. This came to over $55 per person for 5 adults and 2 kids. We sat at the window and got to look out over the beautiful lake!
The Collective Offshore atmosphere is great, the decor is very inviting, and it appears to be a great restaurant to celebrate a special occasion based on the decor. The food, on the other hand, is questionable, though we visited once and explored two different 3-course meals based on their restaurant week promotion. We attempted to order the Calamari and Caesar salad for appetizers. We were told the fryer was working, and there were no substitutes, so we went with two Caesars, There was nothing to write home about. It was very basic. For the entre, we went with the Fish and grits and the Shrimp Butternut Stuff Ravioli in a cream sauce; we asked if the Fryer would affect the fish, so we could pivot and move away from the set menu, and we were told no. Unfortunately, that was not true the fish burned to sight and taste, in my opinion, the chef should not have let that leave the kitchen, but again I'm not a chef, I just love food and eat with my eyes first as far as the Ravioli dish, it was okay, not bad, but the I wouldn't recommend based on the flavor paring this kind of sweet and salt is not my preference. For dessert, we ordered the carrot cake and the pumpkin pie. They tasted like store-bought desserts, so nothing I would go back for or recommend. Our server/waiter recognized that we were not satisfied without us expressing it and offered us a 2nd Ravioli dish. There was never praise for the Ravioli dish, and he never sought to find out if it was liked. My opinion is it appears no effort was put into the Restaurant Week menu. Usually, this is when a restaurant puts out its best courses/ dishes in small portions to get new patrons interested in returning. Based on my experience, I didn't get that impression from The Collective Offshore. The goal should be to offer your best or most popular or new dish, and if something fails, be ready to pivot and give the best even in the pivot, meaning plan a substitute in the event something goes wrong on the side of the restaurant, not the patron. If Offshore doesn't plan to give customers their best, my suggestion is to NOT participate in this promotion because it will hurt more than it would help you gain new customers. My family's saying is "How you any is how you do everything" I won't say I will or will not return because everyone has bad days, and that includes business.
Went for a date night on a random Thursday. I got the Painkiller cocktail (rum, juice, coconut)—delicious! Bang bang shrimp was really good. The calamari wasn’t seasoned so was very disappointing; the ones that had salt crystals on it were ok. It NEEDS the sauces it comes with. Scallops dish was amazing. My husband got the crab cake sandwich; very minimal filler but fell apart easily so was required a lot manhandling to eat lol Pumpkin pie bread pudding is a hard pass; it was jellatinized mush that was lacking seasoning in the mix. The maple sauce dressed on top was yummy, and made the dessert partially edible. Service was fine. Maybe whoever was in the kitchen was a little “skimp” on the food seasonings that day.
Atmosphere was very low key. Waiter was attentive but just so. We reserved the brunch. It was awful. Empty chafing dishes. Dried out over warmed food, and over salted food. The crabby mac and cheese had no crab. The deviled egg appeared to be sitting out all morning. Chicken tenders were covered in salt. Salmon was cooked and sat in the warmer drying out. No one was monitoring the buffet and you had to ask to have it replenished and it never was. I was extremely disappointed since my family was so excited to have a buffet close to home. I will not return for the buffet.
Food was fair and below Rockfish was old fishy taste no flavor. Served over risotto that was smashed with butter nut squash . So greasy no taste could not eat it . 14.00 is high for a brownie Sunday that’s cold hard and a teaspoon of ice cream .Was expecting much higher quality food . The guest with me commented the foods not very good Great service and atmosphere. Would not go back or recommend
I have waited a few days to post this. We consider ourselves foodies and dine out quite a lot. I give honest reviews of all places that we try. Reservations for mother's day dinner. We were seated promptly. Server came by to take drink order. Drinks took forever to come to the table. We were told by our server that a party of 23 were just seated and to get our order in to beat that ticket going in. We placed our order promptly. Now the waiting game began again. Thirty minutes and still no apps. We were then told sorry, the other ticket made it in before us. Apologies that it was taking so long. Finally apps came out this was about 40 mins from ordering. The appetizers that we did receive were quite good. Calamari and Crab claws. Sadly it continues to go down hill. No entree's were coming out. Manager comes by to apologize and offer around of drinks. Which we declined. We noticed tables seated after us that their food is coming out in a timely manner. We brought this up with the server again apologies. Finally hour and a half later food came out served by all three mangers on duty. My entree ice cold. My husband's cold , my son's crab cake hot but garnish ice cold. Needless to say I was done at this point. My son and husband ate their entree's (at this point they were starving) I however refused mine. Shameful that whoever was working the pass knew that the food was cold and gave it to the mangers to serve anyway. They comped our ticket but my Mother's day dinner was ruined. We had spent almost two hours at this establishment. We gave our server a tip as it wasn't his fault. Takeaways from this experience are if they can figure out the logistics of serving the rest of the restaurant in a timely manner while attending to a large party it will flourish. It being Columbia and all. Whole experience left a bad first impression. Perhaps we will try again when they have been open longer.
