Wonderful atmosphere coupled with excellent service. Food was cooked to perfection, although I've had better steaks elsewhere. Mac and cheese, mashed potatoes, and the shrimp cocktail are all must-tries. My wife and I went for our anniversary and they went above and beyond to provide a special dinner for us. I've been back several times with groups since and it's always just as good.
Delicious offerings to be sure. We had the Salmon and the Toasted Chicken that was simply superb. Fully enjoyed a fantastic dinner. Kelly was our server and was extra ordinary.
WOW! I had the most incredible dining experience at Mitchells Steakhouse! The sushi shrimp tempura was TO DIE FOR and the sirloin steak was cooked to perfection, smothered in a rich creamy sauce and topped with succulent shrimp! Paired with a glass of amazing red blend wine, it was the perfect match. And the service? IMPECCABLE! If you're looking for a top-notch dining experience, look no further! Highly, highly recommended!
This was me and girlfriend first steak house experience! It was our 7 year anniversary and the table was set with rose petals and menus saying happy anniversary! The food was fantastic. Our server, Nicole, was the sweetest and gave amazing service! We will definitely go back to this amazing place!
First time eating at a fine dining restaurant and I’m glad we chose Mitchell’s! The food was very good. Cooked perfectly and well seasoned. The service was great! Alexys was very good to us and helpful with the menus. Yes it’s expensive for the “everyday folk” but we enjoyed our nice lunch!
I tried this restaurant because it’s only found in Ohio. The flavor of the food was average. Had to send the crab cake back. The drinks were good. Not laundry’s best restaurant. The Apple pie is not what you think. See images.
Came here for lunch. They got a great lunch menu with a few steak and sandwich options. The lunch price was cheaper than dinner. The steak tasted decent with classic mash potatoes and well cooked broccoli. The free bread was a little sour and baked hot. The service and vibe were amazing. I feel I was eating in a splendid cathedral.
Stopped in for drinks and Alayna took excellent care of us. Her recommendations were perfection and the drinks were incredible. Love the vibes here and service is VIP all around! Give Alayna employee of the month. She was truly a gem!
I did return to this location on June 3, 2023 because of the food and service on my last visit. This visit wasn't even close. After being seated based on my reservations, I didn't even get water until 15 minutes. The reason was they didn't know I was here. Really? Did order drinks before ordering my meal, and it didn't arrive until I asked after 15 minutes after ordering. Then I decided to order, the meal. I did ask for the manager and he did compensate my first order of drinks. Throughout the night, I had to ask to refill the water. When the food was finally brought out, it was a different server and I let them know I wanted another drink. This is rather unusual for a Mitchell's Steakhouse. Made me thing after spending all this money for the great experience, it was absolutely terrible. The food of course was amazing, but the service was terrible. In my opinion, my comp should have been greater. BTW: When I got there, it really wasn't that busy. Even folks that arrived after I got there, was served their food and their service appeared to be head and shoulders above to what I experience this night. Put a damper on the evening. Just disappointed this time. Hopefully, I will be reached out to so it can be made right.
Delicious restaurant & cozy bar. Visited Columbus for business, and stayed at the hotel across the street. Popped in for a drink & dinner, and Mitchell’s did not disappoint. The bar tender was friendly, helpful and attentive. We grabbed a Pepper Pot Calamari and Mango Moscato Sangria on the Happy Hour menu. Both were creative and delicious. The calamari was a feisty blend of peppers, onions, and jalapeño with siracha aioli over crunchy calamari. Flavorful with subtle heat and great textures. The Sangria was a fresh and summery blend of citrus and sweet. I ordered the Ora King Salmon, which was pan seared & served with mustard beurre blanc sauce and shaved Brussel sprouts with bacon. The salmon was cooked to perfection, with an amazing crisp on the edges. The combination of flavors and textures was delicious. The hint of mustard with the sprouts and bacon was such a great compliment to the flavor of the salmon. Truly a great dish! My friend ordered the Tenderloin Duet, filet medallions topped Oscar and scampi style, and paired with asparagus. The steak was cooked as requested, and the meal was reportedly very delicious. I will stop here again when I travel to Columbus, and try other items.
Amazing prompt service. GREAT FOOD and Drinks. I had a Caramel Apple Mule 😋😋😋😋 For food, I selected the 3 course meal with a wedge salad to start. I loved the Gouda Stuffed Chicken and the Creme Brulee was delicious 😋. My husband got the Cowboy Ribeye and he loved it, the steak was cooked perfectly medium rare. It was a good experience that I wouldn't mind repeating again.
Wonderful food in a very beautiful building. Our service was top notch and the meal was excellent. It's a little more on the pricey side as all items are ordered a la carte.
My son and daughter in law brought me to Mitchell’s Steakhouse today for lunch, my steak was cooked to perfection, the food was wonderful and our server Rose was top notch. She was absolutely fantastic and knowledgeable. Enjoyed the experience.
Stopped in for desert! They had some really good cheesecake. And the inside was really neat
We stopped in for lunch lunch today with my mother-in-law. The lunch and dinner menu selection was great. Food was phenomenal && Our waitress “Rose” was very accommodating, and took very great care of us. The historic environment was a great atmosphere to dine. Overall a very great experience.
One of the best evenings I’ve had in a long time! A beautiful restaurant and a warm and delightful staff. The manager came to our table and was genuine and funny. The food was simply amazing.
Came with a big party. Kelly and Braden were fantastic servers. They were so attentive and had great recommendations. The drinks we so good. It was an amazing experience!
The food was fantastic and our service was spectacular. The cocktails were flavorful and strong.
1st time visiting Mitchell's and it did not disappoint. Stopped in for dinner before a show at the Ohio Theater. Everyone on staff was extremely friendly. Service was very good and the food was delicious. The Petit Fillet Duet was perfectly prepared, I added a lobster tail and a loaded baked potato and it was a fantastic dinner. Highly recommend.
We had such a great time at Mitchell’s Steakhouse downtown. The food was amazing and cooked perfectly, and the restaurant itself is really beautiful. The downtown location is also super convenient and adds to the vibe. Our server, Nicole, was great—gave great recommendations, was very attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed. Overall a great experience and definitely a place I’d visit again!
MITCHELL'S is consistently excellent. We had dinner at the bar. Our bartender was attentive. Always checking in at the right time. Food was great. It was a nice evening. Thanks to the staff for making it an easy night out.
This place was wonderful! I went for my wife and I’s anniversary. They had the table ready to go for us with a nice decoration and an anniversary card! The food and service was also fantastic. I will be definitely coming back!
Dined at Mitchell’s Steakhouse last night with my husband and had an incredible experience! We ordered the Surf & Turf for Two and it was delicious. Our server, Nicole, was amazing, and even the chef stopped by to check on our meal. Beautiful location in downtown Columbus. 10/10 — highly recommend for a great meal and excellent service!
This location is stunning. It gives high end steak house. The service is professional. The food is great, my only complaint was that our huge baked potato was not hot enough. (And we didn’t say anything to ask this be rectified) Other than that this is definitely in my top 3 steakhouses in Columbus.
Pretty solid place. Expensive for what it is though. They don't have any dry aged(at least they don't specify it) or waygu. It's just prime options that are practically as expensive as american waygu. I had the 22oz ribeye maxwell style which is basically oscar style but with lobster. They put maybe a tablespoon of bearnaise sauce on my steak which was disappointing. I asked if the brussel sprouts were crispy and they mentioned they were, but take a look at my picture of them. They weren't crispy at all. In fact cooked like this is the reason why brussel spouts catch a bad wrap, they sucked. The lobster mac n cheese was really good. My wife had the surf and turf and it came with a tiny little tail like you'd buy at the grocery store. The soups were amazing, the french onion had so much flavor. The lobster bisque was really good as well, but it was barely luke warm. I had the millionaire spiked coffee which was really good and the stick todde cake or something, which wasn't even sticky at all. It just had some liquidy sauce on top. Service was pretty dang good except for the drink refills. One of our co-workers wives put her old serving skills to work while she refilled everyone's water. Spent over 3k only to have a couple servers and us having to have one of our guests fill everyone's water. Thanks
Stopped by because I wanted to try out one of the more raved spots here in Columbus for steak. Was greeted right away and had a great spot by the window. Our waiter came by and took our order very quickly. I had the short rib from the prix fixe menu, salad, truffle fries, creme bruele. Also ordered the round ribeye, brussell sprouts, and oysters. Oysters were great and were pinkladys from Boston. msalad was mediocre ans had too much slices of large croutons. strak was cooked well but was a bit burnt and salty but was tender flavorful. The short rib was a bit overcooked and didn't melt in my mouth. A bit tough IMO. I also did not care for the cheese tortilini. I think it would have been better with linguine. I hardly ate the fries. They came out soggy and too oily. The creme bruele waa great. I would say come here doe ambience but I would say the food is just average.
The filet mignon and Onion soup were top notch! Service was excellent and very personable. We noted we were on a date and they sprinkled hearts on the table. What a nice and unexpected touch! An extensive wine menu that covers Italians French, American and all of the classics and exclusives. Expect to pay "steakhouse prices" for a glass but know it is a good quality and perfect for a special occasion. We both ordered the Prix Fixe option and were very satisfied with the quality, portion and price. With the exception of the desserts everything was perfect. Filets were tender and I added the bone marrow butter. It was well flavored but would likely go with another option as the marrow flavor was overpowered by the butter. Steakhouse corn side was very sweet and one is plenty to share. The corn did not need the cream as it seemed more soupy and did not add anything to the dish. The Butter Cake and Crème Brule desserts were a let down so it would be a pass for next time. The cake was dry and seemed more like a bunt cake than a traditional Butter Cake. The Crème Brule was good consistency but the overall flavor seemed pale. Overall still deserving of a 4 star review and we would go again!
The atmosphere was great, the service was great as well! The food is not up to par for a $60 filet mignon. For the value I've had better steak for around the same price.
The service and atmosphere were great. Calamari was good but not a style I prefer, French fry style cuts with a pepper relish and it enough sauce. My ribeye was solid even if thicker than I prefer, but had too much of an outside char, leaving that to be the dominant taste. I'm not one to dip my steak in anything, but felt the need to get the butter trio which saved it from the char.
This place is over hyped, for starters I ordered the Jumbo onion rings thinking g they are gourmet and must be really good. The onion rings tasted like they were either frozen or plain flour batter, need less to say there is nothing jumbo about them and taste is very mid. The Sour dough bread is amazing but without the salty butter. Service was very good. I had the lobster bisque soup the taste is there but very water down. The consistency i would compare to a water based soup. I ordered the surf and turf, let's see if they make this any better than the onion rings. Final verdict the petiet filet is good the lobster not so much. Lobster was over done and too salty. Portions are very very small.
I can’t believe I’m writing this about a Cameron Mitchell restaurant, but I have to. This was not a very satisfactory experience. We arrive 10 minutes prior to our reservation, we seated near the restroom. I requested that we move away from the restroom in the same area. Luckily the buster was very swift and got us our beverages quickly. However, after requesting to get moved, our server didn’t come till about 12 to 15 minutes later which was very disappointing. We expressed to our server dissatisfaction, and his response was, “ no worries. I’m here now.” Too bad it wasn’t about him. We ordered off of the Prix-Fixe Christmas menu and the regular menu: chop salad, Caesar salad, wedge salad, calamari, lobster bites, Seabass, salmon, mac & cheese,, and prime rib. The salmon and asparagus did not have a touch of salt, which was terrible. We also got dessert, crème brûlée, butter, cake, and cheesecake. Not to mention, we had a huge dust bunny on the lighting at our table which for this fine dining restaurant is unacceptable. I know I will not be back to this location. Only if I get a gift card, actually.
I don't typically do a review for a place we visited just one time, when we've not had a good experience, but today I feel compelled to. We went there to celebrate my husband's birthday. The bar was crowded when we arrived but quickly became sparsely populated, so we sat near the end to stay away from people (because of covid). We sat there for quite some time with dirty plates next to us, then the bartender came up and said sorry we're so busy tonight, very backed up. We asked if we could at least get some water. We waited quite a while to order a drink and when it arrived it was a very good one, then we ordered some shrimp cocktail. We sat there so long waiting for the shrimp cocktail we had to remind the bartender that we were still waiting for it. It arrived and was good quality, huge shrimp, but very salty. We decided to forgo big heavy dinner, so we next ordered a cup of soup each. Again, we had to wait a very long time for soup and ask the bartender where it was. He asked if we wanted another drink, and we ordered one, thinking our food would be there soon. The soup finally arrived, and it was very good. So then we ordered the twin filet medallion entree to split. Again, it took forever to get there, and all this while the restaurant is gradually emptying out. My Medallion was not very warm, but we had waited so long I didn't want to send it back. A piece of it became lodged in my throat and would not budge, so I had to go into the restroom because when this happens to me my mouth waters a lot. I won't go into detail about my time in the restroom, but it was completely unpleasant. My husband texted me to see if I was okay, and I told him to have that steak removed from my place setting because there was no way I was going to eat any more of it. The bartender took one of the drinks off our bill, but at that point my husband's entire birthday celebration was ruined. All I could do was come back to our hotel and pass out. I'm sure that was not a typical night at mitchell's, but my husband only has one birthday, and I don't think we'll return there in the future to celebrate. Edit: I was contacted by corporate headquarters and received a phone call from the GM of the restaurant, offering an apology and offer to come back for a dinner on them. Unfortunately, we are not going to be able to take them up on the offer, but appreciate they care enough to reach out.
Server was a bit overwhelmed and didnt refill often, sides were good but Luke warm, the steak was bland and not cooked properly. I would not recommend this restaurant. Far over hyped and expensive for what you get.
Alright, is a Sam’s Club steak better than a $70 steak? Yes. Was the sea bass and the Asian flavors good together? Not really. Was the art beautiful? Please hire an interior designer PLEASE! I’m begging. The colors are horrible but the space is gorgeous and I do love the lightening. 🫢
My wife and I sort of made Mitchell's Steakhouse a Valentine's Day tradition. The first few times we were there everything was perfect. We haven't been in a few years and decided to go back and continue the tradition. Unfortunately, this may be the last time. We were seated prior to our 6:30 reservation. After we were seated, though, it became very clear that they did not schedule an appropriate amount of staff. It took a good while to see our waiter, then another good while to get bread and drinks. Our waiter had even told us they were very busy that night, which is to be expected, as Valentine's day fell on a Saturday this year, which is what made us believe they were ill prepared. We both ordered the Australian Wagyu New York Strip. We both ordered our steaks medium rare. My wife's steak came out OK, however mine was on the medium well side. The waiter offered to remake it, which they did, and even the new steak came out medium/medium rare. I decided to just eat it anyway. Both steaks were horrible. No flavor, extremely hard to chew. At this point we had been waiting on our second round of drinks for about 30 minutes. The waiter again apologized and stated that the bartender was incredibly backed up. One bartender, Valentine's day, Saturday night. The drinks were very good, it was just unfortunate that they consistently took so long to arrive to the table. On the menu, the wagyu is $79. Upon receiving our check, they had put 3 wagyu steaks on the bill, at $85 a piece. After speaking with the waiter, again, he corrected both issues and brought us the correct bill. We used to LOVE coming to Mitchell's for a nice night out, but the quality has just gone down overall. Our waiter was great, we could tell he was being overworked. The drinks were great. The rest, not so much. This experience was a 2/5 stars, but I gave a 3/5 rating due to past experiences.
Went there Saturday night 11/22/25. Right off the bat, my water glass was dirty. When ordering dinner, I was informed that they were out of baked potatoes. A steakhouse out of baked potatoes at 6:30 pm on Saturday? Surely you jest! The place is loud, but that is to be expected with the high ceilings. Service was above average but not quite as attentive as I would expect for a place with their high prices. My wife almost found a piece of lobster in the lobster bisque. Almost. Steaks were excellent. Cooked perfectly and awesome. I just do not care for a great steak with mashed potatoes for a side dish. Overall, you can tell that this is no longer a Cameron Mitchell property. We will not be back anytime soon.
I was excited to try this steakhouse but was so upset with the steak. I ordered medium and only the center of the steak was medium. The top of the steak was so charred I could barely eat it. It tasted completely burnt. My asparagus came out over cooked almost mushy. Our server was amazing and the restaurant was beautiful.
Came here for the first time yesterday with my girlfriend for Valentine’s Day and it was awful, but the atmosphere is fantastic. I wanted to like this place so much. We got seated in a dark corner where they had glasses, plates and silverware stacked up ready to be put away. I asked if we could be moved to any of the other open tables that looked available so workers wouldn’t be pushing behind us to get things they needed and so we could be out in the main area, and was told we’d have to wait an additional hour to be seated there. So we take what we got, sit down (most of the tables were never occupied while we were eating). Our waitress never introduced herself or any kind of greeting. We order our food and wait for an hour before we get our food. We were never checked up on or anything in this time. I got the surf and turf and my girlfriend got the filet. Our steaks were pretty good, but my steak was maybe 3 oz. The lobster tail was crying for help with how overcooked it was, and my girlfriend’s shrimp scampi that she got with her steak came with 3 shrimp that were like chew toys. For $180 I expected a lot better overall. We won’t be returning here and I recommend you don’t waste your time either.
We went as a group of 6 for valentines day. We had reservations for 5:15 and we were seated as soon as we stepped inside. Our waiter was kind and did a typical job. Our food wasn't brought out until 6:40 and my steak was sub par. Over cooked and a very poor cut for a filet....We had to be to our next reservation at 7:30. We finally made it out the door at 7:20 and had to take our dessert to go. Over all I expected much better. I can not recommend Mitchell's downtown and I will not return. There are much better options for downtown dinner.
I never leave reviews but I took my husband here for his birthday and it’s the most disappointed he’s ever been. It takes a lot for us to complain because we’ve both worked in the service industry and understand what it’s like. It took 20 minutes to get greeted and get our water. Our server brought the bread out and it had a long hair on it. He got a Caesar salad that tasted genuinely like dirt. His steak was supposed to be medium and it came out rare so he sent it back and when they brought him a new one it was still rare. We enjoyed the mashed potatoes and the French onion soup was good. The atmosphere was nice, but we will not be returning as the price was not worth it.
Visiting on business and wanted a nice steak for dinner. Atmosphere was excellent, service was good, menu limited. Prices high for serving sizes. This was the toughest ribeye I’ve ever gotten at a restaurant! Hardly any grill flavor and just came on a plate without any garnishing. Very disappointing because it looked like a wonderful place. Maybe next time.
The best part of the meal was the bread… $150 for bad steak and bad fries. I promise I could have went to Kroger and picked a bad cut of steak and make it turn out better than whatever that was. The cheesecake was half way decent but nothing special by any means. No wonder the restaurant was completely empty… no surprise there. The service is great but the cooks might want to look on YouTube on how to make a steak honestly considering this is a steak house.
I am beyond disappointed with my experience at Mitchell’s Steakhouse. From start to finish, it was a complete mess. The service was absolutely horrible. Our server was incompetent and unprofessional. He forgot multiple items we ordered, didn’t bring all the food out at the same time, and somehow still managed to mess things up even though he “wrote it down.” We had to remind him THREE times to bring bread. I’m still waiting for it to this day. The food was just as bad as the service. It came out cold, lacked flavor, and was honestly terrible. For a steakhouse, that’s embarrassing. On top of that, the menu was extremely limited, and to make matters worse, they were out of several menu items AND most of the drinks. How are you out of basic drinks and staple dishes? The entire experience felt disorganized and careless. No urgency, no accountability, no effort to fix anything. It’s frustrating to spend your money somewhere expecting a good meal and decent service, only to leave feeling annoyed and disappointed. I would not recommend Mitchell’s Steakhouse to anyone. There are far better places to spend your time and money.
This was unfortunately one of the worse dining experiences we’ve had in Columbus. Our server was lovely and did everything they could however we arrived at 9:00 for a 9:15 reservation and was not sat until 9:45! Even after being sat we weren’t able to get our food to 11:30 and the food we did receive was genuinely horrible. We asked for medium rare and was given well done cold and hard food. We did not receive our dessert until 11:50. This was all extremely unfortunate especially considering that was supposed to be a lovely night and our server genuinely was sweet. The price was also very overpriced at 200. :(
This was the worst dining experience! We arrived early for our reservation early and were told it would be no problem. Service was very slow even though they were not busy. Took about an hour to get any bread. We had a couple of drinks while relaxing and enjoying the atmosphere. Would have been nice to have some bread with our drinks. When we finally ordered our food it came out cold and not very good. The manager finally stopped at our table and asked how it was going. When we told him the truth, he got upset and made it seem like it was our fault. Very unprofessional! If you want a fine dining experience, go to Hyde Park. It is about the same price and the service and food are exceptional!
We made reservations for Christmas day dinner. My mom recently passed away, and we wanted to do something different this year since she's no longer with us. We chose Mitchell's. It was our 1st time here and 1st time eating out for Christmas. I ordered a filet mignon medium well. The 1st one they brought out was very well done. They offered to make mine again. I said ok. It took over 20 minutes for the 2nd steak. By then my husband and son were already done eating. My husband ordered the Australian New York strip. His was supposed to be medium it was more like medium rare in spots. He ate the medium parts the rest went to waste. When they brought my 2nd steak out it was just as bad as the 1st steak. We had poor service throughout. They even brought over a 2nd waiter since ours was over seated. I didn't get to eat dinner. So we left Mitchell's with a very bad experience. I found a McDonald's that was open. I ended my Christmas dinner with nuggets and fries. We will not return!
I am beyond disappointed and frankly angry about my recent visit to Mitchell’s Steakhouse. What should have been an enjoyable dining experience turned into a frustrating and unacceptable mess. The service was completely incompetent. Our server was inattentive, disorganized, and clearly unprepared. Orders were forgotten, and we had to constantly remind staff about basic items including bread, which we repeatedly asked for and never received. No guest should have to beg for something that simple. To make matters worse, our meals were brought out at completely different times. Some of us were sitting there with no food while others were already halfway done eating. That is unacceptable at any restaurant, especially one that presents itself as a steakhouse with standards. The menu was extremely limited, and there were barely any drink options available. Between the poor food, the lack of coordination, and the overall disorganization, this experience did not come close to meeting even basic expectations. We left feeling frustrated, ignored, and extremely dissatisfied. This was not just a minor inconvenience it was a complete failure in service and quality. I expect this to be taken seriously.
The place smells like a sewer - literally. It slaps you in the face when you walk in the door and makes it impossible for anyone to enjoy a meal in there because the air makes you nauseous. Not that it takes much away from the food that is just not remotely worth the exorbitant prices. Aesthetics are wonderful and staff is friendly - that's it. Such a shame, too. It's got such amazing potential. We can't bring ourselves to return - the backed up toilet smell made us sick.
Very unpleasant experience waitress Kelly very rude and unprofessional. Gave my fiance money to pay the bill Kelly ask if she was a stripper. And wanted to know if we were taking their food back to the hotel room. Fast forward so now I get emails from someone that's supposed to be the owner saying someone will contact me today is February 22nd and I have not had anybody contact me even though I gave them my phone number to contact me. The person handing the reviews and responding back doesn't care about anybody. And if they don't do something I will take the emails that they sent me and post them on the photos
Our experience at this establishment was deeply unsatisfactory and offensive. The total cost was $260 for two people, with no justification in terms of food quality. The steak was overcooked and dry, and the ingredients, particularly the lettuce, were clearly in poor condition. However, the most serious issue was the treatment we received from the server identified as Kelly. Throughout the service, she made unnecessary personal inquiries and inappropriate comments. At the end of the meal, she insinuated that we would be taking the leftovers back to a hotel, and later asked me directly if I was a stripper, while also questioning my partner about whether he was in town on business. These insinuations were disrespectful, discriminatory, and absolutely unacceptable. I am a middle-aged woman and a mother, and this treatment was humiliating. Management was informed of the incident and offered no resolution or compensation. I consider this experience a serious lack of professionalism and ethical conduct, and I would not recommend this establishment under any circumstances.
