Opinions de Luca Osteria Coral Gables
One of our favorite Italian restaurants in the Gables! The service was amazing, each person was very friendly and offered their recommendations. The food was mouth watering! Each time we go, we try new dishes because each one is incredible. We got the foccacia, baby tomato panzanella, tuna caprese, pasta alla nina, and the special of the night, truffle pasta. Highly recommend them all.
5 stars! A birthday to remember at Osteria Luca From the moment we stepped in, our experience at Osteria Luca was exceptional. We were a party of four celebrating my wife's birthday, and were treated by our son and his fiance. The staff, especially Francesco, were outstanding: friendly, efficient, and genuinely happy to be there, which created a delightful ambiance. Sharing is caring: One of the things we loved most was that the portions were ideal for sharing, perfectly aligning with Osteria Luca's philosophy. This allowed us to try a wider variety of dishes and really get a taste of their culinary expertise. Food: Starters: We shared the Patate Fritte, a decadent treat with black truffles, parmesan, and egg yolk. The grilled wild mushrooms were also delicious. Main Courses: We opted for a variety of dishes, all expertly prepared. My truffle pasta was bursting with flavor, while my wife loved the rich and savory short rib bolognese. My son enjoyed the flavorful chicken al mattone, and his fiance raved about the ricotta gnocchi. Dessert: We finished with a perfect sweet ending: the pistachio semifreddo and the affogato with pistachio ice cream were both divine. A touch of personal connection: What truly elevated our experience was the opportunity to meet the chef and owner, Giorgio. He was readily available, happy to chat about his restaurant and his dishes with genuine passion and pride. This personal touch added a special layer to our evening and showed how much he pours his heart and soul into creating a memorable experience for his guests. Overall: If you're looking for a special occasion restaurant in Coral Gables where you can share delicious food, create lasting memories with loved ones, and experience the passion of a dedicated chef, Osteria Luca is a must-try. The delicious food, attentive service, and warm atmosphere make it a truly unforgettable experience.
The food of this restaurant is excellent. We really enjoyed the stracciatella was a outstanding, make sure to order the truffle honey with it, the potatoes dish was also a good appetizer, the ricotta gnocchi is a must have and the truffle parpadelle was amazing! I Highly recommend this restaurant. Don’t forget to order dessert, we tried two desserts: the panna cotta and the pistachio semifreddo and they didn’t disappoint.
Easily my favorite Italian restaurant in Miami for many reasons. First, the service is always amazing, the staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Second and most importantly, the food is beyond incredible. Everything is so flavorful and the Cacio e pepe is the best I have ever had in my life. I love it here so much and it has become a regular spot for me
Luca Osteria is the Italian restaurant that will not disappoint you. The service is 10/10, the atmosphere is casual yet elevated, and the food? Superb. If you come here you have to try their patatte fritte (might be misspelling that) and if you love mushrooms, try their grilled mushrooms (they are the best grilled mushrooms I have ever had). We had the chicken as our protein and it was juicy, tender, and yet crunchy at the top. The pistacchio dessert is to die for by the way! If you love pistacchio you must try this . What’s not to love? I can’t wait to come back.
Wow my first time here, I had been wanting to come here for the longest and it did not disappoint . Everything was outstanding, and I must say our server Claudio was amazing. He did not hesitate to explain the WHOLE menu, and give us suggestions and recommendations. And he did it with joy. The patata frittes are AMAZING! Like nothing I have ever tried. Carne crudo was great too. We had tons of things but I recommend the shrimp scampi, short rib bolognese and the lemon pasta (ask for Parmesan and a little chili on the side) Claudio recommended this and it changed the whole dish! Drinks were amazing and the pistachio dessert was great. I truly recommend this place, and our waiter really out did himself and had the best energy. The busboys/girls were also great. Kind and attentive. WILL RECOMMEND TO EVERYONE! Book in advance so you can get inside.
My favorite Italian in all of Miami and best meal I’ve had in awhile. Service was attentive, timely, and thoughtful. We got everything our server recommended - risotto, truffle papardelle (off menu item), and the fried potatoes. The risotto was passable but everything else was truly excellent and satisfying. My favorite part is how they do not skimp on the truffle :) super excited to come back and try the rest of the menu!
Had a work layover and I stayed at my best friend's house she took us out to luca I am from Miami but this was our first time we were in love the potatoes with the egg yolk and truffle sauce were amazing and the short rib pasta was to die for. One of my favorite Italian places so far!
Was such a great experience and honestly some really amazing food. Danny was our bartender/server and he was so informative about the menu and also was friendly and sweet! He made the experience even better. The truffle pasta was incredible the chef has an exquisite taste on the flavors. If you’re thinking of coming here do it! The staff is all sweet and attentive and the food is just out of this world
Love that the food is served family style here because it means you get to try a little bit of everything! We started off with the foccacia and patate fritte, both were very good. Then we had the cacio e pepe, shortrib bolognese, and rock shrimp scampi. We also ordered the halibut al forno and the ribeye. Everything was delicious and the ribeye was cooked perfectly (medium rare). We tried all of the desserts too, and my favorites were the tiramisu and the pistachio semifreddo 😋
Exceptionally unique Italian dishes. We enjoyed everything from the house cheese with honey truffle drizzle, pastas, grilled mushroom (Wow, our favorite!) to the tiramisu dessert and espresso finish. Great service and dining experience. Be prepared to spend $$$ and order several items to share.
We had a reservation issue for my daughter’s 18th bday (a very busy Saturday night in coral gables). The manager at Luna was so great to figure things out and squeeze my daughter and her friends in! The food was amazing, staff accommodating! Thank you all again for a great night!
Fantastic experience both food and service. Anita & the whole bar team were fantastic. We sat at the bar and what a great decision. The team of 4 bartenders including Anita, were phenomenal. Their conversation, food recommendations and just overall friendliness was so refreshing. Thank you all for making our experience amazing. Food was also 10/10.
Impeccable in all areas… Where do I begin? We have been enjoying Luca for a long time and we’ve yet to try something we didn’t love. Last night, for the first time we had the Halibut and the lemon pasta, my goodness what a spectacular meal. The halibut was perfectly cooked with a lemon and herb crust, the pasta was also perfectly cooked and the sauce was creamy and fresh with the most extraordinary combination of cheese and lemon. We usually sit at the bar and are cared for by the spectacular staff Jose, Oliver, Anita, Daniel and Claudio, what a phenomenal team. Just the best crew hands down of any restaurant we visit. Thank you for making our evenings unforgettable.
My wife and I had dinner at Luca on Valentine's night. Nothing short of absolutely amazing. The 7-course meal was spectacular and the service was 20/10. Hands down, it jumped into my top 3 favorite restaurants. Thank you for an amazing dinner experience!!
Waiter was great. Food was delicious. We had the local stracciatella with the truffle honey. It was amazing! Highly recommended in tiktok. We also had the truffle pasta and short rib bolognese. Tiramisu was good.
What an incredible meal! Claudio was our server and made the whole night for us. Great food recommendations, and opened us to a whole new world of wine. Food and service were top notch, couldn’t have asked for more. Will definitely be back!
This place is spectacular. Each dish is perfectly complimented and made to appeal to each sense. Andres our waiter was so incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about each dish and wine. We came for the valentines pre set menu and it was one of best meals we have ever had. A must try in coral gables!!!!
I had an absolutely outstanding dining experience at Luca Osteria, and I have to give a special thank-you to Anthony, who delivered some of the most attentive, and genuinely warm service. He elevated the entire evening with his knowledge, timing, and hospitality. Truly exceptional. We started with the carne crudo, and it was perfection…follow by truffle pasta special rich, fragrant, and beautifully balanced without ever feeling heavy. One of those dishes you keep thinking about long after the last bite. The halibut was another highlight, perfectly cooked, and full of flavor. You can tell the kitchen puts real care into technique and presentation. For drinks, the espresso martini was one of the best I’ve had. And the pistachio dessert was the perfect finale: unforgettable. From the ambiance to the service to the food, Luca Osteria exceeded every expectation. Anthony made us feel genuinely welcomed and taken care of, and every dish was executed with excellence. Highly recommend. Can’t wait to come back!!!
I love eating here; this is the second time my husband and I have chosen this place for a special occasion, and it always lives up to expectations. Reservations are a must, and the food is exceptional. Don't leave without trying the patate fritte. You’re welcome. ☺️
Great food, recommend trying Patates frittas, which is mushed potatoes in panco crust and fried, it comes with very rich truffle sause , probably a million calories but it's worth it. Lamb shanks and Cacio E Pepe were great too, also recommended. Ambiance is simple but cozy, with indoor and outdoor options.
Had dinner here with my family this past weekend and I can see why it’s one of my mom’s favorites. Everything was incredible. Highlights for me were the patate fritte, truffle risotto, and pistachio ice cream affogato. The atmosphere was warm and lively, perfect for sharing good food and conversation. Definitely one of my new favorite restaurants.
I've been to this Italian restaurant before, and it never disappoints! This visit was just as fantastic as the last. We were lucky to have Michell (hope I'm spelling that right!) as our server. Even though she mentioned she recently started working at the restaurant, you'd never know it-her service was phenomenal, and her recommendations were spot on. Big thanks to Michell and the whole team for making it a special night.
Amazing place — it truly feels like sitting on a terrace somewhere in Italy, enjoying a perfect bowl of pasta. Make sure to order the patate fritte — they’re a must. The black truffle pasta(special ) was incredible. A spot we will definitely return to
Parmesan truffle potatoes: an immediate yes. Crispy, soft, salty, perfect. The pastas always taste homemade, comforting in the way only real Italian food can. The panna cotta melts into perfection, and the pistachio dessert… unreal. Everything here feels intentional, warm, and made with so much heart. Luca Osteria is one of those classics I keep coming back to. it just never misses!
Sat on the patio and there was a great ambiance. The service was good and the food was excellent. Great date spot and we'll definitely return.
A must stop in Coral Gables ! A great selection of appetizers and entrees, the patte frito is a must order ! Everything tastes amazing, freshly made, rich and good portions ! Service was excellent and informative.
This place is now going to be a monthly staple in my life. The food here is incredible. Everything we tasted left us wanting seconds. The appetizers are amazing, so many options that we almost didn’t have room for the main course. The truffle pasta was great not too heavy on the truffle taste but definitely a generous portion. The dessert was pretty good but if you love eating skip dessert and get more appetizers! 😄
Hostesses were not great but otherwise a great meal. Food and drinks were all on point. Waitress was great with recommendations and overall service
Luca Osteria is an eclectic Italian restaurant with a minimalist design, and a very cool atmosphere. Our waiter Alejandro was of great help, giving us honest and thoughtful recommendations on what to try. We started with the carne cruda and the local stracciatella with honey & truffle, then moved on to the short rib Bolognese and the pesto. Both were absolutely incredible. For dessert, the pistachio semifreddo was outstanding and, in my opinion, a must. Definitely a place I’ll be coming back to.

We showed up without a reservation and the hostess was fairly accommodating. Everything we’ve had today was tasty. Lots of big flavors yet a very nice blend!! I am impressed with the carne crudo, tuna caprese and the lamb shank.

Lucas on Giralda pedestrian street in Coral Gables has been in the list to visit for some time. We were able to get reservations for a special milestones to celebrate with family. Decided to order different appetizers and pastas so we could all share and taste different options. All the plates were delicious, truly amazing Italian food with a twist. Small indoor seating that is a must for the summer making it harder to get a spot for dinner. We were expecting a more formal setting but it was more casual with no table cloths and settings. Service was fair and not comparable with other top notch h Italian restaurants services. Indoors it was noisy, has a bar making it a chic place. Definitely a must try as the food is amazing even with some of the things lacking. Local Stracciattella Pasta Al Pomodoro Pasta Al Limone Bucatini All'amatriciana Cacio e Pepe Cacio e pepe Cesar Salad Sullivan Street Bakery Focaccia, we have bought before at bakery and it was ok nothing to order or buy again.
I unfortunately had to deduct a star. We were charged for two items that we should not have been. Please take time to review your bill to avoid overpaying. Off the charts! 5 stars is the very least I could do! As we were without reservations, we were seated at the bar. What a turn of events and absolute treat this turned out to be! This was quite literally a chef's table experience! The staff here is just so kind, warm and inviting - they most certainly hotel right here. We were literally showered in warm hospitality! Non-alcoholic drinks were made to my imagination and the pasta was so, so comforting and good! As a finer dining sister restaurant to the wonderful Eating House, we should have expected nothing less! Chef, Anna, Danny, Oliver and Alex we can't thank you all enough! We are grateful for this experience and will be back for a repeat!
I had a lovely time on Saturday at Luca Osteria. Honestly from the service at the hostess table (they got us in even though we didn't have a reservation) to the amazing attention at the bar I think it was great. To be honest I think the food is a bit overpriced for what it is. We had 2 pasta dishes, a drink each and a dessert and it was $90 per person. The pasta dishes are $40 each. I think they were good but not completely out of this world (for the price). That's my only reason for giving 4 stars. Thank you.
This was our first time visiting Lucca — used to live in Chicago so we’re always looking for closer foodie places that fit the same vibe. We went the day after Valentine’s so we were able to get a reservation a few days before with no problem, and were able to take advantage of the special V-day menu options. We were seated way in the back in a section that felt a little separate from the rest of the restaurant decor wise and was way quieter (I’m super loud so I was self conscious about it, but ended up being fine). Drinks and food were great so I didn’t mind paying city prices for it (although needed a bit more seasoning). Service was wonderful — Bianca was amazing, she was super sweet, attentive and fixed our wobbly table right away which we really appreciated. The couple next to us was being pretty nasty and she handled that with grace as well. Overall, I enjoyed the experience and would come back!
The atmosphere was great. This is definitely my kind of place and energy. But the food I had was below average. The prosciutto was just a prosciutto with nothing else on it and the pasta dish was very sour. You could count the number of shrimps in the plate. Even the dessert was very average. Overall the restaurant is very expensive for the quality of food they serve.
Decided to sit outside on a warm evening in January. Very good service (server tried to oversell the wine options) and decent pasta - we had the lemon pasta and pesto pasta. Question value for money
A Mixed Experience: Good Food and Service, but Room for Improvement. I'd like to start from the beginning. I called the restaurant on the same day to make a dinner reservation, but the lady who answered told me they were fully booked. When I asked about seating at the bar, she informed me that I'd need to make a reservation and be put on the waitlist in person. Since I live just a few blocks away, I was skeptical about the availability. To my surprise, when I arrived, there were indeed tables available, including at the bar. FOOD The pasta parpadelle with short rib was rich and heavy, making it a good option to share. Unfortunately, the pasta Caccio e Pepe was overly salty and too cheesy. The main dishes arrived at different times, which meant the pasta had gone cold by the time the second dish arrived. This was disappointing. The beef tartare appetizer was delicious. The wine selection was impressive. AMBIENCE AND SERVICE The atmosphere was great, with both indoor and outdoor seating options. I preferred the outdoor tables, which were more romantic and cozy. Alejandro, our waiter, provided exceptional service. Two Areas for Improvement: Customer service over the phone: I was told there were no tables available, only to find a few tables upon arrival. Food timing: Main dishes arrived at different times, resulting in cold food.

Located in the heart of Coral Gables We started our dinner with an Allegrini Amarone della Valpolicella Classico 2018. Before even finishing up the first bottle; we ordered the second one 🤣 New gentleman server was a bit confused but I think he was confused as apparent he was new and our regular server was shadowing him all the way through (he needs to be guided a little more and also teach him how to properly open a wine bottle - he was struggling up a bit!) Love their style; we order everything and dishes start coming out the moment they’re ready. Typically how you will have them served at almost every restaurant in Europe. For dinner we had a little bit of everything…. • Local Stracciatella with a side of Honey Truffle. It’s a must order! So good and ask for extra bread! • Patate Fritte; sooooo delicious every single bite has an explosive of different flavors! Can’t miss it! Ask for shaved truffle’s makes it even better! If you’re a truffle lover! • Pasta al Limone is always made with love and perfectly Al dente. Never disappoints! • Cacio e Pepe it’s always a must have! This time around wasn’t impressed by it. • Short Rib Bolognese was okay. Nothing out of this world; don’t bother ordering. • Risotto ‘al Mare’ is a must order! So so good! Risotto made perfectly! • Free Range Chicken ‘al Mattone’ ordered half and trust me is enough to serve a table of 5 hungry humans! Make sure you squeeze that lemon on top! Their little gem Caesar Salad is divine! • Anto’s Tiramisu was okay; missing more of that Kahlua or espresso infusion to it. Highly Recommended! But make sure you make that reservation because they’re always very very packed! Unless it’s a rainy day that people tend to cancel reservation last minute! Yesterday was the emptiest I’ve ever seen it. •••••••••• August 8/23 visit update Be aware when ordering wine. I had ordered their bottle of Tommasi Amarone which they had on their wine list and waitress came out with a Bussola Amarone. I was told it was the same thing. NOT REALLY. Kept the bottle since I haven’t tried it but if you don’t have the bottle available then just heads up to your customer not just bring another bottle just because you might assume it’s okay. Be up front about the situation. It’s okay you run out of a bottle but certainly not okay to assume your customer will be okay if you change the bottle without any heads up! Ps. I wish they would train a little more the servers on how to pour wine because the many times I’ve visited waiter and waitresses that I won’t put their names always tend to drop wine either on table or water or one time on my cousin’s shirt
1/3/2026 Luca Osteria I have eaten in some of the most prestigious and recognized Italian restaurants in New York City and the country including Carbone, Cipriani and Marea. Always a great experience, good food, great service and atmosphere. Wanted to share that before reviewing a restaurant that is highly praised for the food and the ambiance and that won a MICHELIN Plate 2022 award for good cooking. The Place: We tried to get a reservation in the “Open Table” app and we were placed on the waiting list. Next day got a notification that there was a table available at 7:30 PM and we booked it. It was a Saturday night and the place was not that busy however, the servers made it look like it was very fast pace, vibrant and busy atmosphere. Perhaps that is why we felt like if we were being rush to order, to eat and to leave. We asked for recommendations from our server Alejandro and for an appetizer, he recommended the “Local Stracciattella with Honey” and when the food was delivered, it came with Prosciutto to which I said that I did not order that however, he forgot to mention that it was extra and not part of the appetizer. Did not find out until he brought me the bill and I saw the appetizer was $44.00, not a good business practice. Tried to reach the restaurant a few times, during different days however, nobody picked up the phone. When I finally spoke to the host, she told me that the manager was not available and that she was going to see if assistant manager was available. After a while, the host came back and got my information and said that they were going to refund the extra charges. Manager never came to find out what happened or to apologize for the confusion. Still waiting. Also, when we asked about dishes, he was speaking very fast and hard to understand, like if he needed to leave to tend to other guests. The Food: “Local Stracciattella with Honey” and additional Prosciutto, it was okay. The “Pomodoro,” if you don’t like a lot of sauce, let them know to go light on it. Also, it was undercooked. The second pasta, “Pesto,” was also disappointing, undercooked and heavy on the pistachios. The “ Halibut,” too much herb lemon crust. We also ordered a drink, “The Greta,” had it better somewhere else. Very disappointed of the whole experience. Not planning to go back. “Eat deliciously”

Atmosphere is okay, servers are outstanding, and the food is genuinely delicious, very fresh with balanced flavor combinations and thoughtful recipes. The biggest downside is how rushed the whole experience feels. About 10 minutes after sitting down they asked for our full order, and roughly 45 minutes later we were told we had to switch tables for another reservation, even though we hadn’t even received our main course yet. The food and service are great, but the constant sense of hurry makes it hard to enjoy the meal. A slower pace and more customer consideration would make a huge difference.

Hostess was kind to accommodate us as we were over 10 minutes late. Pasta was cold before we finished the meal. Was promised and told food was served the moment it came up which is not likely, however flavor was good. We were seated outside and I think having the food served on heated plates would help maintain the temperature best. Service was uneven and one of the only times we ordered a bottle of wine and I had to refill it myself throughout the meal. The potential for so much more with better training for the staff.
You would think that a restaurant in the Gables that charges close to $40 for pasta would have a pristine service but no. Worse service I've had in Miami. Waitress appeared to be annoyed by our table so she decided to turn her attention somewhere else. Food was ok. I didn't get the concept (if it was hand made pasta from scratch I'd never know) as our server neglected to ask if we were first timers there nor care to introduce the place. I expect an italian restaurant to have olive oil, salt and pepper at every table after guest are seated or with first food service, especially for the cost it would be nice to have some bread at least. I had high expectation but "al dente" does not mean uncooked and unfortunately they don't know the difference.
I came in with high expectations because the food looked amazing and several friends had recommended this place. Unfortunately, the experience fell apart as soon as we tried to get a table. We were told the wait would be about 45 minutes with only 4–5 people ahead of us. We were also told we couldn’t get drinks at their bar because it was reserved for a private event, so we went to their sister bar nearby to pass the time. After waiting over an hour, we came back—only to be told that we were still four parties away from being seated. No update. No explanation. Just the same answer as when we arrived. We essentially wasted an entire hour for nothing. At that point, we left and went to another great restaurant nearby that seated us quickly and treated us well. If this restaurant doesn’t actually have availability for the night, they should be honest about it. Giving unrealistic wait times and making customers sit around with false expectations is frustrating and disrespectful. A little transparency and better communication would go a long way. Sadly, what could have been a great night turned into an unnecessary waste of time.
I went to this Italian restaurant for my birthday dinner and it ended up being a really disappointing experience. The prices are extremely high, but the portions are surprisingly small, which already made it feel like poor value for the money. On top of that, the service was terrible. I repeatedly asked for a straw for my drink and never got one, so my drink just sat there getting warm while I waited and waited. For something so simple, it shouldn’t have been that hard. The staff had a rude attitude and seemed completely uninterested in helping or even checking on the table. They weren’t attentive at all and acted like they didn’t want to be there. For the prices they charge, you’d expect much better food portions and at least decent customer service. To make things worse, the seating was uncomfortable and cheap. The chairs outside were just hard plastic with no cushions, which is ridiculous for a restaurant charging such high prices. The black chairs even left stains on my white pants, which was honestly shocking. Really disappointing, especially since I chose this place for my birthday dinner. Definitely not worth the money and I wouldn’t recommend it. 👎🍝
