Great spot for upscale ish seafood in Coronado. We came here because out visitor wanted some seafood. We went on a Saturday with no reservations and was able to get a seat. They have parking in the back alley. Drinks: I ordered the Yuzu Citrus Martini and enjoyed it, reminds me of a lemon drop shot, quite tasty. Food: we tried their oysters, it was great but a bit overpriced. We got 1 dozen. Appetizers: we didn't get apps but I did try a cup of the chowder and it was so delicious, I'd def recommend that if you're a chowder girlie. Entrees: My partner enjoyed the lobster tacos. It comes with 2 tacos, a side of veggies and a side of fries Our friend got the wok seared tuna and he had a clean plate, probably the best bang for your buck. It comsauce. White rice and topped with sauce. I got the tiger shrimp and grits and I throughly enjoyed it. They have great serving so I didn't have any leftovers. The grits were topped with bacon bits and cheese, and the shrimp were pretty large. See pics
Ate here eight years ago when I visited San Diego. Awesome both times. Great food, great service, great ambiance. Visited on Grandparents weekend at the University of San Diego.
It was happy hour time. Besides the place being packed and not a lot of options for seating, we were able to squeeze in at the bar area. Servers were attentive and always checking in. Food was good and not bad for $7 prices. We came by a couple more times, sat outside patio. Overall, warm sunny weather, Hotel Coronado and street view to add, it was a nice day at Brigantine in Coronado. Great experience Recommend👍🏼
Lump cab cake big recommend. Has Lounge with bar seating for those traveling single or smaller groups.
It is not possible to express the full scope of our gratitude for the outstanding experience we had with The Brigantine in Coronado. Choosing to host our reception here was the best decision we made for so many reasons. First of all, working with Abigail, Melanie and their team to figure out the details (floor plan, menu, etc.) was delightful and easy!! Second, and most importantly- the event as a whole was WOW, 12/10 on every level. The food was absolutely delicious (kind of a given and why we wanted to have our event here) and they kept everything hot, organized and restocked. The service was truly unbelievable! No one in an our large party had to ask or want for ANYTHING. Everyone so kind and attentive- we cannot think of a time when we’ve experienced service like this at an event of this size. Communication during the event was also amazing. I asked for recommendations regarding ordering more food or keeping touch about the minimum and they did just that! We’ve always been fond of The Brigantine but our recent experience has solidified our loyalty!!
We had wonderful service tonight. Riley provided excellent service and treated us with such kindness and care. Thank you, Riley, for your professionalism, warmth, and for making us feel so welcome. It truly made our evening special.
The Brigantine is an old place and an old-fashioned place. You don’t expect trendy, on-point cuisine and you don’t get it. But they have maintained their quality. We had decent clam chowder and ceasar salad and a good crab cake. The service was relaxed and pleasant, not forced or stiff.
Our waiter William really helped make my father’s birthday dinner special, he was extremely attentive, helpful and overall provided a comfortable experience! Then when the food comes out we’re equally as impressed, the swordfish was meaty and flavorful and the shrimp and scallops were cooked and seasoned perfectly! They even gave my father a desert to celebrate (made in house) , please make a reservation here if you want a guaranteed good meal.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A Perfect Evening at The Seafood Bar We visited The Seafood Bar today, and everything from start to finish was absolutely outstanding. The atmosphere was relaxed yet vibrant, filled with great energy, soft lighting, and the inviting aroma of freshly prepared seafood. The staff greeted us with warm smiles and genuine hospitality, setting the tone for a truly enjoyable experience. The oysters were phenomenal — fresh, perfectly chilled, and bursting with flavor. Each one tasted like the ocean itself. They were beautifully served with classic sauces and lemon wedges, making them the perfect start to our meal. Easily among the best oysters we’ve had anywhere. Every dish that followed was just as impressive. The seafood was tender, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The standout item of the night was the fish burger — crispy on the outside, juicy inside, and layered with flavors that blended perfectly. It was honestly one of the best fish burgers we’ve ever tasted. Service was exceptional throughout the meal. The team was attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely kind without ever being intrusive. The drinks were excellent, and the presentation of each plate showed true care and attention to detail. Overall, The Seafood Bar offers a flawless dining experience — great food, friendly service, and a relaxed, upscale atmosphere. We left happy, full, and already planning to come back soon. Highly recommended!
I thought this place was really good. We ordered a bottle of wine to get things rolling with a dozen of pink lady oysters coming in right behind. The ladies didn’t last long as I polished off my than my fair share, per the usual. Main course was the swordfish and broccolini. All of the food was great and the wine really tied the whole meal together. Atmosphere was bustling and energetic for a beach front Saturday night. Overall pleasant experience. Would definitely do again!
Food is delicious! The calamari, Seafood Cobb, Parmesan Crusted San Dabbs, Blackened Salmon fantastic!!! Service from beginning to end is wonderful. The ambience is so familiar, casual and sea faring classic. Brigantine is a nice restaurant for families, dates, friends to enjoy. Don’t forget classic cocktails.
My server was great! I sat outside during Happy Hour and she was busy with 5 tables but never missed a beat. I ordered from the main menu and she told me the calamari was on the Happy hour menu. I also ordered the sangria which was one of the best I've had in the region. They give you 10 shrimp in the cocktail; I have never had that many anywhere but they were huge size and a good taste. Others need to follow suit. The calamari was a huge serving and I gave never seen strips cut in this fashion but I'm definitely not complaining; Well seasoned and cooked. They were extremely soft and tender.
What a great seafood spot! We ordered the clam chowder and the panko-crusted dabs, which came with broccolini and a creamy lemon risotto. The clam chowder was definitely a favorite — rich, comforting, and full of flavor. I was pleasantly surprised by the dabs; it was my first time trying them, and they were absolutely delicious — crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and paired perfectly with the sides. We sat outside near the beach, soaking in the beautiful weather, which made the whole experience even better. The service was great too — friendly, attentive, and made us feel right at home. Great food, relaxing atmosphere, and lovely weather.
I had such a relaxing, beautiful dining experience here. The food, the setting, the sunlight — everything felt like a quiet vacation in a plate. I ordered the seared ahi tuna, which was fresh, flavorful, and presented like art. The grilled fish taco was simple but perfect — crisp cabbage, tender fish, and just the right balance of texture. I also had a mango margarita with chili rim that was bold and refreshing without being too sweet. And the real surprise? The crème brûlée. Light, creamy, with a perfect crackling top — topped with fresh strawberries and mint. It ended the meal on the most elegant note. The ambiance was sunny and calm, and the service made me feel taken care of without being rushed. Definitely one of the highlights of my San Diego visit.
On a recent trip to California, I had the pleasure of visiting a taco spot known for its San Diego-style offerings. My experience there left me with plenty to rave about, but also a couple of small points for improvement. Here’s the breakdown: The Food (5/5) I tried two tacos during my visit: a swordfish taco and a spicy chicken taco, both prepared in authentic San Diego style. These were nothing short of amazing. The swordfish taco was fresh and flavorful, with a perfect balance of seasoning that highlighted the fish without overpowering it. The spicy chicken taco had just the right amount of kick, with bold flavors that made each bite exciting. What set these tacos apart was the addition of ranch dressing. While it might sound unconventional, the ranch complemented and enhanced the flavors beautifully, adding a creamy texture that tied everything together. Each taco felt thoughtfully constructed, with high-quality ingredients and a mastery of flavor balance. The Service (4/5) The service, while decent, could have been a bit more polished. When we arrived, the hostess informed us there would be a 30-minute wait for outdoor seating. However, after some inquiry, I learned there was another outdoor section that she could open for us right away. While this oversight didn’t ruin the experience, it’s something that could have been avoided if the hostess had proactively offered all available seating options upfront. The Atmosphere (4/5) The atmosphere was laid-back and inviting, perfect for a casual taco outing. While it didn’t quite reach the same “wow factor” as the food, it was enjoyable overall. The outdoor seating area we eventually moved to had a great vibe, with a pleasant California breeze that made the experience all the more enjoyable. Additional Perks One standout feature of this place is their Taco Tuesday discounts. It’s a great incentive for taco lovers to indulge midweek without breaking the bank. If the quality remains consistent with what I experienced, this deal is worth planning your visit around. Final Verdict This taco spot is a must-visit for anyone craving bold, flavorful San Diego-style tacos. The food is the star of the show, and I’ll absolutely be back to try more of their menu. While the service and atmosphere had room for minor improvement, they didn’t detract significantly from the overall experience. Final Rating: Food: 5/5 Service: 4/5 Atmosphere: 4/5 Overall: 4.5/5 If you’re in the area, make it a point to stop by—especially on a Tuesday!
So I had taken the train from LA Union Station to Oceanside, and rode my bicycle with Coronado as the final destination. I knew I wanted to try anything seafood. I asked the flower lady at the Rotary Park for any suggestions. She said Brigantine, and off I went. I'm not really into eating at 'sit down waiter take your order type of establishment' But when i saw the outside, it seemed like a perfect atmosphere and I was able to sit outside and have my bike right in front of me. The waiter who attended to my table, was very easygoing, informed and made the whole experience super relaxed, casual and fun. Her name is Aubrey, and it is with people like her, and the personal service she provided in this setting, that makes me feel good and relaxed about eating at restaurants again. Regularly I'm the coffee shop type who just like to order by the counter, pay and just sit and not be tended to. But as mentioned, Aubrey made it way cool. And of course, the food was great, and I can highly recommend anyone visiting Coronado to stop by and say hi and enjoy good food and a chill eating environment. Thank you Sincerely Toby
We thought of enjoying some Brigantine's for Happy Hour before heading to an event at the Hotel Del Coronado across the street. There was a table available for the three of us on arrival which was nice. Alyssa was out waitress and was very attentive. It seems like the restaurant is a bit understaffed as we had several different staff members delivering us food and drinks which also meant getting an additional bowl for the clam chowder became a bit more of an inquiry. Margaritas were as always very nice but we're spoiled with other restaurants pouring these and us drinking them at home. Fish tacos were satisfactory, more because of the fish than the other parts of the dish. Clam chowder nice and creamy and the nachos had potato chips, not tortilla chips to our surprise. I did not check the menu to see if this is mentioned more in detail, but it may help to emphasize on this bit. Lastly, the ahi poke to start with was nice and fresh. All in all, 8/10 which is a decent score for a decent experience.
This location was okay if you need a quick bite to eat. The burger and oysters we had were pretty good, but definitely could have been better. I would recommend doing a few of the wagyu sliders instead of the full burger. The staff was friendly and the location is nice for sitting outside.
The restaurant is definitely one of the best in Coronado, me and my boyfriend enjoyed every single moment we spent in that place. Try to order appetizers before the main dish since the main one is just a small portion. We ordered CRISPY BRUSSELS SPROUTS - which is absolutely fantastic and the main dishes were BLACKENED SALMON and JUMBO DAY BOAT SCALLOPS. Both very delicious and well made! Highly recommended. The environment of the whole place is great and very charming. They have live music on weekends and the singer was Amazing! The drinks are also very good! My four stars goes, unfortunately, to the service that was not good. It took us a while to receive our dishes and more than 15 minutes to get the check (the restaurant was a little busy not not full).
