Great little place price seems high but food was amazing. Little small on the inside but food was great. Ran more like an old small town restaurant. I saw the other review complaining this wasn't down home country food but they must not be from the country cause my food was cooked perfectly. It's not like traditional modern restaurants. The lady's are cooking in the back and taking care of the front. I travel for work and I'm from central Texas and of all the restaurants I've been to this one is definitely getting put on my list of must return to. I'm a fat boy by heart and nature. This place makes you feel like your going over to your grandmas and she just whipped you up a fresh meal. The beef tips weren't over salted like most places and the corn bread is ACTUAL cornbread none of that bs sweet corn bread that's sticky to try and make it taste better. This place is good and has better food and nicer staff. If you can't enjoy yourself here you need help.

First time coming here and my husband and I tried the catfish, burger, and chicken fried steak. Everything was so good plus you can taste so much flavor. The service was above and beyond. 100% recommend.

This place is amazing. We stopped here on a long road trip. The food was delicious. The staff was friendly. My husband and I have agreed to make a point to stop here if we are in a 25 mile radius. I can not express how happy I am to have found this place.

Stopped by Ms. Arlene's for a late lunch today and I'm very glad I did. The service was great and the food was even better. I had the fried catfish, which may have been the best I've ever had, with greens, black-eyed peas, fried okra and cornbread. All delicious. Can't wait to get back and try more!

If you get a chance, stop in and see Miss Arlene she’s a wonderful kind sweet lady with delicious food. I did receive an egg messed up and I explained that it was more than OK and she just wouldn’t have it. She didn’t want me walking away hungry or unsatisfied what a wonderful lady.

I was in the mood for something homey and not a fast food chain. We found this gem of a spot. The food delivered on another level. I had the spare ribs and the meat was falling off the bone. The corn was sweet and tasted amazing. The mashed potatoes were the best I have ever had. The staff was friendly and makes you feel at home. I will definitely be back when I can.

There is a sign on the register, that says "good food takes a while to make, so if you can't wait, come back when you can." For those who can wait are definitely treated to an amazing homestyle meal. I ordered a chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and brown gravy, and words cannot describe the amount of joy I felt while eating this. It was like taking a step back into the past, and tasting food that i had thought my taste buds had forgotten. The staff is super friendly, the food is super delicious, and the price is adjusted well to the proportions. 20/10, will definitely eat here again

The best restaurant food we have eaten. The fried Catfish was perfect. Thats saying a lot I’m very picky on my catfish. The collard greens, mac & cheese were delicious. My husband had the chicken fried steak. He was like homemade. The cornbread was so good. We will definitely be stopping in here when we come through town.

THE BEST homecoming I’ve had in a long time. They don’t make places like this anymore. We had chicken spaghetti and chicken and dressing with broccoli and cheese, green beans, and okra and tomatoes. All the food came out hot and fresh and you could feel the love cooked into it. We have found our new favorite place fit REAL soul food and homecooking. Ms Arlenne met us with a smile. What a blessing she and her family are to this community.

We had our 1st Ms Arlene’s experience when the restaurant was in the downtown section. Apparently she had move due to the COVID Pandemic.? This new spot is a bit difficult to find, DO NOT GET ON THE SERVICE RD😎 Look for the tiny road that looks like a driveway, beside the service road. I had the Hamburger(Allow up to 20 minutes to prepare)…it was GREAT, fried also nice and crispy. I did ask for LOTS of Jalapeños and lots of mustard….guess I needed to be more specific 😎 Wifey had the Okrie/Tomatoes, pinto beans and collard greens. All were yummy! Paid CASH to save a bit of $$$

I had the chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes, and collard greens. (I always order my cream gravy on the side so I can get a better taste of the seasoning that goes into the batter and mashed potatoes.) Everything was seasoned to absolute perfection, you could genuinely feel the love she puts into her home cooking. The chicken fried steak was absolutely phenomenal. I would put this up there in my top 3 chicken fried steaks I've had in Texas, and I've had A LOT of chicken fried steaks. The batter was crisp, delicately seasoned. The steak was tender and cooked absolutely spot on. The mashed potatoes were perfect, just like my mother's. The green were so, so damn good. And let's not forget the gravy, freshly made and (not surprisingly) perfectly seasoned. The menu changes daily but it does have consistent items. I can't wait to try the chicken and dumplings the next time I am in the area. Ms. Arlene as well will visit with you after your meal, and if you're open to the opportunity, she asks to take your photo so she can post it on their Facebook page that highlights first time visitors. Portion sizes are great and you can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. Ms. Arlene is such a great person as well and will make sure you’re taken care of and feel right at home. Will come back any time I pass through Corsicana in the future!

I had the burger, I wished I had ordered the catfish afterwards. The burger was excellent, large, juicy, with large strips of bacon. Fries were hot and crispy. I will probably be going back multiple times to try other dishes.

This was our first visit to Ms. Arlene's. I had the catfish which was wonderful! My husband had the smothered porkchops and loved it. Our favorite part was the friendliness of Ms. Arlene. It was truly a great meal and we're so glad we stopped.

You need to stop here if you love, or just want to try soul food. I've had soul food from all over the South, and also grew up with Southern Folk for most of my life. Ms. Arlene has to be one of the best tasting soul food plates I've had in a very long time. It felt nostalgic, like I was eating at a friend's place for the first time. I had the catfish, collard greens, mac, and cornbread. All were phenomenal, and each had their own unique blends of seasonings, methods of preparation, and love that you know had been developed over time. I came into the restaurant and Ms. Arlene was working the front. After she handled the orders, she went to the back and I imagine did what she felt needed to be done back there. After, she then came out and made sure everything came out right with her guests, and if it didn't, if she could rectify the issue. I've worked in the restaurant industry as well, and Ms. Arlene reminds me of the managers that I loved to work for. Ms. Arlene and her restaurant are the definition of Southern Hospitality. Thank y'all for bringing this 32 year old kid back to his childhood, playing with his friends 'till the sun went down, and eating dinner with their families. :')

I knew Ms. Arlene when she used to cook off of West 3rd Avenue in the downtown area. I used to put my quarters and dimes together, run over there, and buy some of her crispy fries for lunch (along with a Dr. Pepper) when I was 11 yrs old. On special occasions I would get (what should be) her world famous burger or fried catfish…. Mmmm Mmmm!! 😋 I visited her new location today and man o’ man… you might as well go ahead and slap yo momma because the food is delicious. 🤤 And the environment is still as homey, kind, and loving as I remember as a child. Hungry for soul food? Make no mistake, this is the best stop in Corsicana.

You walk in and you immediately feel at home. Mrs Arlene was so friendly. She came out and spoke with us for a while. In fact, she pulled up a chair. The food was amazing. Tasted like home cooking! I had beef tips and rice, collard greens and mashed potatoes and gravy…. Absolutely amazing! If you want a home cooked meal with good, friendly service… i recommend Arlene’s! A buddy of mine found this place on Google so we decided to try it out. I tell you what I am the fullest I have been in a long time after cleaning my plate. (3 piece fried catfish, collard greens, broccoli and cheese, cornbread and a sweet tea). Full flavor being just right. Will be back again and again.

She sat at the next table and had her lunch while we were dining. I wish her all the best. My wife ordered the fried pork chops, greens and mac-n-cheese. I had the hamburger steaks with gravy and onions. Mashed potatoes and green beans. All of it was prepared fresh and arrived piping hot! It was nice to see the care put into the food since so many places are now opting for frozen entrees and canned veggies. So give Ms. Arlene’s a try!!!

Not overdone. Crispy outside, flaky and tender inside. Great seasoning. My family were all pleased with it too. And the sides were good as well. If my dad were still alive, I would have already returned. I don’t have any reason to go to Corsicana, but I know before long, we’ll be going for a Sunday drive, to return to Ms. Arlene’s. Update - I was able to return today. Spoke to owner and cook, I assume named Arlene. She’s super friendly. Catfish was excellent. But my DIL had the meatloaf, and I tried it. Now I’ll have to return again to get it. 😄 Oh, but, fyi, no high chairs or booster seats.

Tiny chicken fried steak, slow /poor service, waitress yelling across the restaurant because she doesn't know where the food goes. Extra charge for credit card.

I’ve never had a steak served frozen in the middle. Absolute garbage experience. I will never come back to this place.

I drove 2 hrs cuz this place was recommended. Needless to say it was what you would expect at night in oblock, nasty , dirty, and worst service. Its was like being promised Marilyn Monroe and getting cardi b’s bbl.

Cajun shrimp pasta looks and tasted like it came from walmart!! Almost 20 dollars for the smallest portion of food I have ever tried.
