Opinions de Breakfast Republic Costa Mesa Costa Mesa
I really enjoyed Breakfast Republic in Costa Mesa. I drove by one day and saw how packed it was, so I made sure to go the next day. The food is high quality and the service is great. The environment is very casual and laid back, but very clean and cool. Our waitress was extremely attentive and the food was delicious. I really like their style and branding.
The employees are so friendly. The waiter had a smile on his face at all times. The food was delicious. They have a lunch and breakfast menu. We ordered the yogurt bowl and the breakfast burrito. The yogurt bowl had fruits, a glazed banana, chia seeds and granola. The burrito was delicious and very filling. There was enough of the burrito to take home the next day. The environment and decorations are a modern farm house decor. I would go back if I was in a beach city again.
If I could give a higher rating I would, everything about this place was great, the service was fast and nice, the food was absolutely delicious, I had the french toast plater, even the inside of the the restaurant was nice, on top of the practically being no one here. In total we have 5 people and spent a little over 60, which for the quality of the food was great. I recommend this place to anyone who wants a great time and I will be coming back again
Breakfast Republic is my favorite breakfast place in Orange County! The café de olla and protein lover scrambler is my go to order. The only downside is that they’re always super busy on weekend afternoons, I recommend going earlier in the day than later (the parking lot is small so it gets tricky finding a spot).
A Damn Good Bloody Mary! I've always said, if they can make a good bloody Mary they can make any drink. Then paired with the Breakfast Jambalaya... very good. Flavor and seasoning was on point. Buttermilk pancakes were moist and light with a subtle sweetness to it. Butter and the pancake was enough for me. The coffee cake paired with their house coffee 🥰. Lastly, the service was great! Hospitable and very knowledgeable.
Sunday funday, great food at this place. I had French toast sampler, banana nut, strawberry, and peanut butter, this looks like a giant boat. So flavorful. My friends had the chilaquiles which are crunchy and protein lover which included eggs, bacon, ham and cheese. My top off to this place.
This was my first time coming to this establishment and it was overall a great experience. There was a bit of a wait, about 20 minutes, when we got there. The breakfast burrito and flight of three pancakes are great options. Each can easily fill a single adult up. Additionally the prices are fair and the service was good. I'd highly recommend this place to anyone.
It was a beautiful day and we ran across this restaurant and we are so glad we did! The menu has a lot to offer anyone. We couldn't choose between the pineapple and coconut pancakes so we each picked one and shared. By far the coconut ones were the best. I was expecting the pineapple pancake to have the pineapple baked inside but was disappointed that it was just a spoonful of pineapple chunks set on top so the second pancake was plain. Either way it was still good. Had it with the bacon jalapeno cheddar sausage omelet with house potatoes. Very yummy! The best was the coffee! I think I drove our server crazy about refilling my coffee cup all the time but it was so good!! Ox coffee from Philly! I'm ordering it online to have it at home!
This was a perfect place to celebrate my son's birthday this morning. The food selection was innovative and delicious. Everyone enjoyed the specialty coffee drinks and one of our party had a very hearty bloody Mary. I will definitely be back to try that one myself! Special recognition for the comedy bit playing in the women's bathroom 😂
Fantastic place for Sunday brunch. The staff are friendly and helpful. Fun vibe indoors and outdoors. The omelette was delicious. Various mimosa options
I don't even know where to start since I liked so many things here. I'll start with the merch: amazing design, very positive. There is a cool coffee bar with very tasty coffee!!! My breakfast was lunch, everything was very delicious, the sausages were perfectly cooked, the potatoes and sauces were super! Thank you!!! 🤩
Great spot for breakfast. I enjoyed a beautiful jalapeño bacon and sausage omlete. It was full of meat and cheese! I also added spinach for my greens. Fluffy omlete and great portions of both eggs and home fries. The service was excellent. Our server had a couple of jokes and a great personality that made our first time a great experience. Parking is a little limited, but if you don't come at prime times in the morning, you should be fine finding a spot around the building. We ate on their side patio, and it was beautiful and not too noisy from the street traffic. Thanks for the great first-time in!
The coffee alone was worth the visit! Also a winner was the San Diego Benedict. Just a note for my next visit: remember to order the eggs cooked with no runny whites. (Just a personal preference.)
I love this place! The service and food quality never disappoint, and the atmosphere is just a perk! I don’t recall my bartender/waitress’s name but she was wonderful, I was there Sunday morning at 9:30 am 10/19 I asked for hot sauce from another employee and they were sweet, love the vibe here! This is the spot in Costa Mesa! Come bye, you won’t be disappointed!
I once made a mistake of coming in and leaving without eating cuz I got an urgent call to be somewhere. I had no idea I would miss out on so much! And so, I came back and oh man, what an amazing treat! When they say you first eat with your eyes, it's so true! From the first site of my plate I was in love and got hungrier. Taking a bite of my veggie tostada, I was in love! The food was hot, fresh and deeeeeeelicious! The server was super kind and he offered us a cupper to go when we where leaving. If you come in full, hungry or with just a little bit to munch, you will leave fuller, happier and will plan your next visit, guaranteed! They have outdoor, indoor, bar, low and high top sitting. Perfect for all group sizes!
Absolutely phenomenal breakfast experience. Every dish we ordered was next level! We started with the Chilaquiles with steak, which were perfectly balanced, flavorful, and hearty without feeling heavy. The Bae Mac was pure comfort food done right, rich, savory, and incredibly satisfying. The Shrimp & Ricotta Frittata was light yet indulgent, beautifully cooked, and packed with fresh flavor. For something fun and shareable, we ordered the Rooster Flight, a trio of French toasts including the Mr. Presley, Banana Split, and the limited time Golden Harvest French Toast. Each one was creative, unique, and honestly hard to choose a favorite. The textures and flavors were spot on across all three. And then there were the Milk & Cereal Pancakes… omg. Easily one of the most memorable pancakes I’ve ever had! Fun, nostalgic, and insanely delicious. Everything came out fresh, hot, and plated so thoughtfully. You can tell there’s real care put into both presentation and execution. Coffee was hot and freshly brewed, and the iced ube latte deserves a special shoutout, hands down the best ube latte I’ve had anywhere! On top of the food, the service was excellent. The staff was incredibly accommodating, friendly, and efficient without ever feeling rushed. The space itself is cozy, welcoming, and has such a great vibe. Breakfast Republic is a truly unique spot in Costa Mesa and works for all kinds of diners, whether you’re there for a classic breakfast or something more creative. Highly recommend and already looking forward to coming back.
First time here, the food is good, the service is fast, and staff is friendly. This place is good for breakfast, lunch, or late lunch. Indoor and outdoor seating area, good for small or big groups I loved the chilaquiles, will come back to try the rest of the menu items. And anyone who knows to Alec Baldwin is, his doppelgänger works here
I really liked the service. It took about 15 minutes to pass. The waiters are all super attentive. The eggs Benedict are the tastiest I've tried in other restaurants. 😋 Highly recommended to go with your family or friends to have a delicious breakfast. They are also pet friendly.
Had brunch here this morning. Food was amazing! Had the protein scramble and it hit the spot. One of my daughters had eggs Benedict and it was delish. My other daughter had the oreo pancakes and they were delish! 10/10 recommend!
What a great place and an unexpected surprise. I was here in town getting my motorcycle serviced at the local dealer and I asked for a breakfast recommendation. Quickly he said to come to breakfast Republic. The atmosphere was great the decor very nice, and everything was light and friendly. The bloody Mary’s were great. Alejandra was our server and she greeted us with a smile, even made a great recommendation on the Chilaquiles. Would definitely come again.
Easily some of the best French toast I’ve had in a long time. Mr Presley, Smores and Strawberry Mascapone in the sampler were amazing picks but they all sounded great. Guava Mimosa was fresh and delicious!! 10/10 will come back next time we’re in the area. (The motivational quotes on the wall and the adorable syrup dispensers were the cherry on top. 🍒)
The upgraded potatoes were delicious. They add onions, parmesan cheese, roasted Brussel sprouts and bacon. I asked for it without bacon and they accommodated. The vegan fritata was pretty good but a little watery and not very "egg-y" but the vegan eggs Benedict was super delicious. The service was fantastic. Comped the kombucha flight when the waitress forgot to put in the order. Ample outdoor seating at 2pm 1 hour before closing.

Loved my entree. Tasty and portion size was not bad.

Wow, this is my new favorite breakfast spot in Orange County. The brussel sprout potatoes were fantastic! As was the service. Obviously well managed and a talented kitchen staff. No biscuits & gravy option, but otherwise perfect. I can’t wait to return to try the French Toast.
Food had me off my rocker goodness sakes it was tasty! Vibes are high did I mention how absolutely scrumptious everything is here? James was a fantastic friend today! Not only was he our host but was also our server!! Attentive, personable, totally killing it!
I've been wanting to check out this place for breakfast for a while. Always a line when I drove by on the weekend. We went during the week shortly after they opened, no lines and less than 10 people dining. The vibe was cool and the food was great! I had the scramble with Portuguese sausage and it was seasoned well and very tasty! Will definitely go back to try something else!

Good breakfast. The Portuguese sausage scramble is great. The Jalapeno sausage omelette is good. The cinnamon roll pancake was average with literally a powdered sugar and water blended icing. The banana sundae French toast was not that great, rather dry bread. The chilequiles were great with an over medium egg on top. The Jurassic Pork Benedict was good but the bacon is way too thick. The house ketchup is not good as it has a weird Tabasco flavor to it.
Came here for brunch on. Sunday. No wait. Nice atmosphere. Both indoor and outdoor seating. Great menu selection. Unfortunately the steak in my steak n eggs order was very tough even at medium rare. Maybe I just got a bad one. Server was friendly and attentive. Above average over all.
This was our first ever visit to this restaurant. If you decide to eat here, be prepared to fight for parking spots because there are a limited few available. Also, it isn't a big place, so it can feel crowded while eating here. The service was good. We had to wait for about 10 minutes for a table to become available, which isn't bad. We were actually offered drinks of our choice while we waited to be seated. I thought that was cool. The atmosphere wasn't anything fancy. Just your typical mom and pop style breakfast place. The food was okay. We had the Protein Pancakes, which were good, but had a little too much chai pudding on top. We also had the Brioche French toast, which was good. And the Frittata, which my wife did not like. Apparently, it just wasn't prepared properly. Overall, it was just an okay experience, and we will probably look at another option to have breakfast the next time we are in the Costa Mesa area.
Seems like a very popular place. We came on a weekday after the breakfast rush with only 1 waitress - it was kind of slow. The menu options were great. The was very tasty and fresh + but it came out kind of cold. The waitress does not bring the food which is confusing sometimes since the person delivering doesn't know who ordered what. Other than that everything was awesome.
This is a wonderful place with good food and fine service. I came with a friend and we enjoyed breakfast. Everything was tasty and the prices are moderate.

When they get to breakfast right, It's really good. My wife tried a basic bacon and egg breakfast there and she was disappointed that some of the bacon was a little bit under done. My ham and eggs were really good and the pancakes came across perfectly. The price is just fine, especially on the senior menu.
Free parking but can be full on the weekend. The service is good. Two restrooms with hand washing area outside of the restroom. The food is good but Canadian beacon is a liitle chewy. Small outside seating area. Gluten free and vegetarian options. Not too noisy indoor. Walk ins only. Part of a chain.

Great menu, very pleasant and attentive server, delicious coffee and delicious food. The reason I give it three stars is because I’m very sensitive about seeing any employee wearing an apron, not removing it prior to using the restroom and during our time there we noticed two male employees doing that. Hope they correct this problem.
This breakfast spot offers a decent but unremarkable dining experience. While the food is satisfactory, it lacks any distinctive flavors or stand-out dishes. Additionally, the prices are relatively high considering the portion sizes, especially when compared to other breakfast establishments in the area. Locals might find it an acceptable option in a pinch, but tourists seeking a memorable breakfast experience will likely be disappointed. Overall, this restaurant is just okay, earning a 3-star rating for its average food and inflated prices.
Unfortunately I personally didn't have a good experience. The food looks very delicious. However, everything came out cold. Not sure when the pancakes were cooked. The bacon was flimsy. I must say that I enjoyed the coffee. I don't remember the name of our server, but she was very patient and kind. Once is enough for me.

I love the food here but the service at this location just always disappoints. Severs and workers behind the bar just seem completely uninterested in working and generally have an attitude. I’d recommend the Irvine location over this one if you’re in the area because their service is top notch for the same quality food.
Food was bland. I ordered chilaquiles. Rice and beans had no flavor. Partner order toast and hot only one slice cut in two and were dry and over toasted. Service was slow they were out of the tequila for the bloody marias. They give you one thin paper napkin for your entire meal. Waitress never checked up on us. After we left we saw kitchen staff in uniforms smoking. Was somewhat awkward.
Food was 5 stars... likewise for presentation. Unfortunately, the service was awful. I went on a Tuesday around 10:AM. The place was only about 50% of capacity, plenty of servers / buss personnel wandering around... after waiting for 5 or so minuets, I caught a busboy and asked for coffee (w/cream) and water... he brought both- with a side of almost no cream. Finally a server brought a menu (coffee gone at this point) When the server finally came back, I ordered my meal and "more coffee please" then waited, and waited, and waited for more coffee... nothing. Finally, the meal arrived (which was delicious & expertly prepared) At this time I re-requested more coffee & cream... coffee came pretty quickly... no cream. I again requested more cream, but it never arrived. No "check-back" from the server, & no refill on the water either, which was all gone, and no bill... for exactly 9 minuets after I had finished eating, and just sat there. So disappointed... & I had heard good things about the place.
Despite being very excited to try out this place, our server, James, took our order with the most monotone, straight-to-the-point voice and uninterested face. At first I didn't pay much mind to it, as the restaurant was busy (and on a Sunday) and I assumed he was just tired from the rush. He never checked back on how our food was until we were basically finished and ready to pay. Only as we were paying did he ask how our day was and truly smiled. Every time we requested something for the table (i.e. sugar for coffee) he would drop it off and instantly turn away without a word. Additionally, we had 5 party members and they sat our 5th at the end of the table in the middle of the walkway. Everytime someone would pass by, they would accidentally bump into him. The food was alright, but I believe there are better brunch places. Overall, the atmosphere wasn't very welcoming and I would not return.
Very disappointing experience. The customer service was poor—staff were inattentive and unhelpful. The food was bland, not worth the price. Definitely wouldn’t recommend or return.
