Opinions de China Village Cotati
I can’t say enough good things about this place!!!! Our server, Allen is GREAT! I’d come here just for him! The whole staff was exceptional! customer service was 5 star! Food was perfect, not over salted or heavy! Everything tasted fresh and clean! Very clean inside also! Everything looks fresh and new! I live in Santa Rosa but I’m driving to Cotati for now on when I want Chinese food!
Food is really good. Would come here very often, however, service is terrible. Left a 15% tip and the waitress didn't let me and my family leave until we tipped 25%. This is the worst. Will not be coming back here.
Good service. Food is very good. There water doesn’t taste good.
Visiting the area and told my husband to find a Chinese restaurant that had high reviews but was inexpensive and we landed on this place. It does not disappoint! Even number of crab rangoons for the appetizer. I always hate when it's a odd number and it's supposed to be shared. huge serving sizes and it tastes great! Definitely will be back next time I'm down here.
Great food had Mongolian beef and hot sour soup. A little bit more expensive but you get HUGE portions.
Food is amazing, not sweet, not super american style. If you like sugar fried chicken maybe this place isn't for you! If you want thinly sliced medium rare stir fried lamb or saucy soft creamy egglplant in a savory spicy gravy then you'll be thrilled. Even the white rice is fab. omg and the portions are huge. Literally got 6 meals out of 3 dishes.
Very satisfied with what we ordered here. Orange chicken was amazing. Staff were very friendly and very helpful.
Small parking lot but mostly empty, so parking wasn't difficult.
Our favorite Chinese food place in this area. We dine in and pick up depending on mood. Service is very friendly and fun when dining in. Phone etiquette and people skills are lacking when calling in to order. Food is amazing, love their pot stickers, green beans, fried rice, chow mein, walnut shrimp, pot stickers, egg rolls (Our usual order).
Ever since we discovered this eatery it has been pretty hard for any other chinese cuisine to compare. The food is delicious, affordable with huge portions. The customer service is friendly and fast! They make the only orange chicken that my kids will eat and the Mongolian Chicken is amazing.
Everything was amazing! Will definitely be back
uring our visit, we seized the opportunity to dine at China Village. Our selections included Kung Pao, vegetable fried rice, and green bean chicken. The appetizers comprised pot stickers, accompanied by complimentary war won ton soup. The cuisine was exceptionally delicious. We appreciated the prompt service and attentive staff. I intend to return in the future.
My favorite Chines food place around town. The servers are super nice, Jessica is our favorite, and Allen is a close second. The food is always fresh and consistent. Love their lunch special, rice or chow mein, and one item, including soup and appetizers, for about 12$. My personal favorite is the princess chicken with fried rice. My wife loves the spicy green beans and chow mein. The spring rolls are a must have as well, and don't forget to order the spicy mustard, a great way to clean out your sinuses.
Did take out and it was phenomenal. So delicious and hot! Great portion sizes and super friendly service
If I could give this place more stars I would. I cannot recall a restaurant with more attentive and speedy staff and the food was amazing. I ordered the lamb chow mein lunch portion and it was perfectly filling.

The food is always great here and the service is top notch. Large selection of dishes and beverages.

We made the seven hour drive from Northern California specifically to come dine at this restaurant. We visited in the summer and fell in love with the food and staff then. We drove down, met up with my sister and brother in law and indulged in what was once again a most amazing meal! Everything was perfect. Hot and fresh food and our waitress was very accommodating. We were a table of six and ordered the dinner for 6. We added in a couple extra sides as well. Once again, this place outdid itself with quality and quantity! The portions are big and we took so much with us to go after having our fill there. The fried eggplant is delicious and my kids have fallen in love with it! Everything is very delicious. We will be making this drive again soon to enjoy your offerings. Thank you for having such fantastic foods!
There are only two Chinese restaurant I'll eat at this one and another I'm from San Francisco so finding Chinese food equally as good is difficult out here in the North Bay but I'm happy this place is around
We come with a large group every time we visit China Village and they are always very accommodating and flexible! All the food comes out hot and delicious and the servings are extremely generous. Thank you China Village for hosting us!
Good service, good food and short wait time. You can call your order in and have it waiting when you get there. My brother has severe food restrictions and they were able to accommodate us easily.
This place is amazing It's gorgeous inside, the music is lovely, the staff is attentive and kind. I got the sesame beef, kung pao chicken, egg rolls, hot sour soup and won ton soup. The egg rolls were perfectly crispy, the chicken and beef melted in my mouth and had the perfect amount of sauce Every bite i took i was just blown away by the quality and flavor This is my new spot for sure!
The staff are amazing. You can tell through their cooking, the choices of flavors they use, blend so well it's an art form. I'd recommend this to anyone who asks me where to go for some great food.

Food is very good. The vegetables are fresh and not overcooked. The meat is tender and their sauces are not overwhelming. Service here is smooth.
This is my go to Chinese restaurant when I want to eat something quick and tasty. The service was quick and friendly and the food delicious.
This restaurant has really good food. The prices are ok if you're 3 or more people. Average price per dish is $16-$18. Not bad for 3 people. However, if you have leftovers, be sure to check that you are given everything in your order! I ordered 3 dishes. $56 in total and they forgot to give me my shrimp fried rice. Since I'm a trucker, I probably won't be back for a very long time, if ever. I feel like I was ripped off even though I should have checked. So 50/50 on who's at fault for not double checking the order.
Good food, good service. I wish they would use Tamari sauce in their gluten free dishes instead of making it with no soy sauce. Even without it, some of the best king pao chicken I’ve had.
Crispy noodle house chow mein. Great Crispy fried noodles, just served in a too small a plate. I am not a fan of the overly sweet brown sauce used on this dish, I grew up with a more clean clear or wine based sauce. The vegetables were fresh crisp and tasty. Meats of shrimp, chicken, beef were tender and made this a repeating thing to eat. I just need a lighter healthier sauce.

We did take out. Usually we are always pleased with whatever we order. Sorry to say tonight we ordered chicken chow main, our usual. Really disappointed. Portion much smaller. Absolutely no vegetables, very little chicken. In other words, mainly just noodles Really disappointed. Will not go back. .
It is an average Chinese restaurant. The food is good but it's "nothing to write home about". Service is good. The food gets 4 stars compared to a lot of Chinese restaurants where the food lacks flavor.
Went there for lunch. Big restaurant, nice interior with nice Chinese decore. Service was ok. However, the quality of food was middle of the road. We ordered General Tso's chicken and Orange beef lunch special with Chow Mein noodles. I advise against General Tso's chicken as its nothing but deep-fried dough balls with a tiny sliver of meat. The Orange Beef was ok but on the soggy and doughy side (it seemed as if they tried to fry it in moderately hot oil). I am hoping that the kitchen was having a bad day. For now, just three stars.
I’ve given this place 3 tries. Once I dined inside and twice to go. The restaurant is expansive in size & welcoming with tasteful decor. The food however on each occasion was mediocre. The chow fun was tasty with plenty of veggies yet quite oily. The fried egg rolls were not good at all. I have never tasted any like this before- it was 3 times the amount of dough and they were rubbery and not crispy. The portion size is decent yet a tad on the pricier side. On my way out I saw the cook smoking in the parking lot- hoping we washes his hands. It looks like many others love this restaurant. Perhaps there are some specialty items?

Hello! We love the food at this restaurant. I am giving 1 star for service because of the two ladies who worked on Sunday evening September 14. Both of them had the worst customer service (the two other gentlemen were amazing). 1—When we ordered a small soup, our waitress asked how many people were there, and I said 4. She probably wanted me to order a bigger soup, but I said that we liked a small soup because we were going to order other food items. She was clearly upset. 2- We ordered water for everyone, my 4-year-old daughter put her hand inside my water……. So I asked the waiter if she could please give me another glass of water and she got upset. I understand that we wasted a glass of water but I would be happy to pay for it since we love the food at this restaurant. 3- When I pay using Apple Pay the lady at the register had a bad attitude as well and she entered the tip by herself, she left the %18 of the bill which was okay but she had no right to enter a tip on behalf of a customer.

They tried to scam me on my receipt and when I told them they acted like they didn’t understand me. Also they try to pressure you to order more things and bring you food to your table that you never ordered so they can charge you more. Really bad service.
The food is good. Service is horrible. Ladies are very rude.
Food is great but service is bad. What's worse is that the waitress literally held us hostage until we gave her tip. We gave her to start $10 tip she actually threw them on the table and said now a days you have to leave minimum of 18% tips so 10 dollars is not enough and literally won't let us leave until my husband paid her $22 tip.
An XMAS eve to forget! Waited 40 minutes in line for a takeout order placed online three hours earlier. 40 minutes to learn it would take an additional hour for the order to be ready! The restaurant was horribly unprepared. All of the staff looked stressed, overwhelmed, and in various states of panic. I felt so bad for all of them, especially for the one hostess who had to put up with all of the inpatient and upset patrons. Pro tip for the management: a little planning goes a long way! Needless to say, I canceled the order. Panda Express saved the evening!
I don't understand all the raves. Because of them I gave this place a try and ordered takeout (Wor Wonton Soup and Triple Crown). No complaints about service, but I was there only about five minutes to pick up my order. Not only was my food so-so, but it gave me food poisoning. So it seems I paid almost $50 for mediocre food and a very ugly night. I wish I'd looked at their health violations before I ordered.
If I could rate this restraunt at 0 stars I would. My family always ordered the same things. I always put in the comments that there be no egg in the vegetable fried rice and that the spicy greenbeans not be so spicy. I have a family member who is allergic to eggs and she is a vegetarian. I have an ulcer and can’t eat spicy foods. The frustrating part is that sometimes they read the comments and sometimes they don’t. So either my daughter doesn’t eat because of her egg allergy and I don’t eat because the green beans are too spicy. When we order food, the bill is always over $70.00. For that price, I could go buy my family in n out and ice cream from cold stone. I am tired of having to check the food. It should be right ALL THE TIME! Your restraunt needs better oversight on quality control of your food, especially when using the food apps. I will find another Chinese food restraunt. YOU HAVE LOST A CONSISTINT CUSTOMER.
I walked in around 7:45pm. Was ignored by the staff for about 10 minutes while I stood at the front entryway with a menu in my hands and only one other customer present. When the woman finally took note of me she said "what do you want" very rudely. I said I wanted takeout and I ordered the shu mai and the chow mein. When I handed her my card she tossed it back on the desk after paying without saying a word, and then tossed my receipt down, again without saying anything and without even looking in my direction. I then realized she wanted me to sign. So I signed. Then the woman began to walk away and I asked "how long will it take" and she said "you ordered the shu mai, so 18 minutes". I left for 18 minutes and when I returned the woman looked at me and said "what do you want, you want takeout, sit down, what?" And I had to remind her that I had just ordered 20 minutes ago. She said "not ready yet". So I sat down. They then went to the back and I heard them tell the others to start cooking. Then a boy came out and told me that it would still be another 10 minutes to cook. There were very few other orders being taken at this time. Around 8:30 they finally brought out my food, takeout, but the guy who brought it out was the person literally mopping the floor and he did not wash his hands between using the mop, and carrying my food. I ordered takeout, but I was not given any utensils, napkins, or anything to eat my food with. Would not recommend this place to anyone else, and I understand why there were so few people there. The food tasted good though. Cold by the time I walked to the store from my hotel and bought a fork to eat it with. But tasted good.
I normally order from Amy's but decided to try a different spot tonight...and I really wish I hadn't!!! By FAR the worst Chinese food I've ever had! Horrible quality, oily and the waaay over cooked. The crab puffs were hard, dry and had almost no filling in them.
Our family has enjoyed coming here for many years but have taken a break because the server named Jessica has gotten too familiar and unprofessional with our family. Tonight we have colletivly decided we will never eat here again. She somehow thought commenting on my mother's weight was appropriate. She went on about how my mother gained weight in her face. Not only was this incredibly rude and pretty cruel, but I was informed by other family it has happened before and that's why they hadn't dined there for more than 6 months. The owner is a great man but there is no way we can support this establishment ever again.
We went to China Village last night because a family member came to visit from out of town. It was my husband, our 5-year-old, our relative, and myself. From the moment we sat down, we felt rushed. The server (a shorter lady with glasses) came up right away asking if we were ready to order when we had just been seated. We hadn’t even looked at the menu yet. We ordered drinks, and while we were still deciding, she stood there and kept suggesting appetizers, even after we politely said no multiple times. I finally had to firmly say, “Ma’am, we’re okay for now.” A few minutes later, two more servers came by asking if we were ready to order, which added to the pressure. We placed our order quickly, just to avoid feeling rushed. Our appetizer and meals came out at the same time, but our drinks were forgotten — we had to ask the busboy for them, and he was actually very kind and attentive (he deserves recognition). When we were nearly done, the server came over asking how many boxes we needed — even though our relative was still eating. She stopped mid-meal and said she’d just take her food to go because of how rushed we felt. The check came to about $115, and we left an $8 tip, which we felt was fair considering the poor service, the forgotten drinks, and the overall pressure we experienced. The shocking part came when the server counted our money right in front of us and said, “You realize this is for your food and this is my tip?” She pointed out the suggested tip amount and asked multiple times if we were sure we didn’t want to leave more. I told her yes, that’s what we’re leaving. She then said she’d “go talk to the cashier.” It was incredibly uncomfortable and embarrassing, especially in front of our visiting family member. The food at China Village is amazing — we’ve always loved it — but this experience left us very disappointed. The busboy and other staff were great, but the service from this particular server and the way she handled the tip situation was completely unprofessional. Sadly, we’ll probably just do takeout or DoorDash from now on instead of dining in.
This place stinks and will never go back. Lost our reservation and the guy behind us too. Got seated though and had to wait 30 minutes to order. Brought out our food 1 plate at a time over the course of 2 hours and completely missed my order while others that arrived an hour after us got all their food at once. Everything was cold and the service was horrible. Don’t waste your time or money on this place.
Poor service. Don’t go to this restaurant and don’t place your order on Uber Eats and DoorDash. No one is listening here. Totally unprofessional. I waited 25 minutes and cancelled my order but no one concerned. Poor atmosphere, unprofessional staff. All are use less. 0 star
The pot stickers were very burnt. The first time I got the Beef Chow Fun the dish was very good. The second time the noodles and beef had no flavor like they forgot to add the sauce. Clearly the better chef was off today. Maybe don't go on Tuesdays.
