Dinner was amazing, every bite more delicious if that’s possible. The atmosphere was perfect and the music was superb. We will definitely eat at Marcello’s again and plan to often.

Intimate Italian at its best. I ordered the pork cheek and my wife got the veal Molli. It was superb. For dessert, we ordered the Tiramisu. The waiter said, “the best Tiramisu of your life” and he was right! My wife doesn’t usually care for tiramisu but it was divine. We can’t recommend Marcello’s enough

The food was presented like fine dining: like there was a contest to see how beautifully it could be presented. And it was delicious. I was outside, where the atmosphere was wonderful, but I think I was forgotten a few times as I had to flag down a server every now and then.

Two couples dined last evening out on the deck on an unseasonably warm evening. The food and service could not have been better. I recommend up the chicken Molli. My friend enjoyed the Lasagna. We had appetizers of calamari and mini meatballs in this delicious sauce. Finished with a light chocolate dessert with a cannoli. Two thumbs up for Marcellos!

Daniel is a wonderful server. He knows the menu and aims to make your experience enjoyable. Tables (for 4) are somewhat small. Food is delicious and served hot. Prices are reasonable IMO.

Probably the best outdoor ambiance there on the patio and pretty good food though it's not inexpensive even without wine. The meatballs are good and medium sized. Good service though it wasn't terribly busy.

My fiancé and I went here on 2/21 for a nice dinner date. The inside was very cozy and inviting. The tables were a little small and close together, but that's not a major issue. The service was very good, our waitress was very knowledgeable about the menu listing off their specials for the night. All of the wait staff seemed to be super friendly, and very professional. I ordered the lasagna and it was amazing! Super fresh and the perfect portion size. The prices really weren't that bad compared to how good the overall experience was for us. I would highly recommend giving Marcello's a try if you are in the mood for a nice romantic evening out and are craving some homemade Italian food.

a true testament to the value of keeping some things “old school”. Dining at Marcello’s is like stepping back into your nonna’s kitchen, like pastina for the soul. You really can’t go wrong with any of their dishes, I’ve enjoyed every last morsel of food I’ve had the pleasure of tasting (and I feast there quite often, at least weekly) On top of a consistently delicious menu, their cozy yet professional table service really makes for a great experience no matter the party size. I also just found out they offer buy-outs for parties, so the birthday planning starts now!

Excellent experience for our anniversary dinner. Comfortable atmosphere. Courteous and attentive service. The food was excellent. My wife had the veal Palermo and I had the spaghetti bolenese with meatballs. The Tiramisu for dessert was among the best we have ever had.

The food at Marcello’s is outstanding. The Old Fashions were better than most. The wine list was unbelievable. BUT our waiter Brenden was truly an outstanding young man that took care of our group like we were family. Will definitely go back the next time we are in town.

This was our first time eating at Marcello’s, we’d been hearing great things, they were all true, awesome atmosphere, great service (Derin was a great waiter), and the food did not disappoint, we will definitely be back!

Absolutely our favorite Italian restaurant. Chicken Parmesan is amazing.

Charming ambiance renovated home turned restaurant. The only negative is the bar area which is a little weird and right next to the front entry door. But the bartender was awesome and friendly. I love their wall of wine- you can walk around and browse their wines by the bottle. Food wise- Every single dish we had was spectacular. Meatball dish and crab appetizers were delicious. I love the fried eggplant squares that replace normal croutons on their Caesar salad. The special king ora salmon that night was very fresh and extremely tender. Husband’s steak was cooked perfectly. Definitely going again!

This was the last date night of 2023 for us. I made online reservations, which was easy, but the parking is kind of wild. The hostess said they had been experiencing some parking issues because of Dakota's. So keep that in mind when heading over. Our waiter was really nice and highly attentive. The food was delicious. I had the chicken molli and my husband has the ossobuco. Everything was really tasty. The service delivery was really swift. I will say the only thing that we didn't enjoy was the cheesecake. It wasn't bad but just meh in relation to the other dishes. I did really enjoy the tiramisu, though. Overall, it was a great dinner.

Wow the place to eat. We eat there at least once a month. Service is great. Food is excellent. Atmosphere great. Live this place. See you in May.

We have seen several restaurants come and go in this location so we were curious what the new kid on the block was going to be. After dining for the first time last night we don’t think there will be a change in this location again because we are hoping Marcello’s is here to stay. The prices are a little pricey especially for just lasagna but it won’t keep us from going back. ($100 for the two of us for two entrees and a $27 bottle of wine) I had the braised tender pork cheeks over creamy polenta and it was absolutely amazing!! I would order that again and again. My husband ordered the lasagna. While it wasn’t the most amazing thing in the world, it didn’t disappoint either. One thing to note is it is blazing hot!! I almost never finish eating before my husband but it took him so long to eat because it was so hot that I ended up waiting on him. He was down to the last 1/4 of his meal and it was still too hot. The bread that came out before our meal was maybe a sourdough French bread and so good. It was perfectly crispy on the outside and soft and chewy on the inside. I do wish our dinner came with a small Italian salad though. Not because there wasn’t enough food for sure but just because I love Italian salad. I definitely couldn’t finish my entire meal and had some wonderful leftovers for lunch today. My husband ate every last bite of his. There were so many dishes that I wanted to try off the menu it was hard to choose one. So, we will definitely be back to sample more. One thing I will mention though. This was our first time here and we had no idea we should have had reservations. Plus, it was a Wednesday night. We sensed an attitude from the hostess for not having any reservations instead of being welcomed into a new restaurant. Now we know for next time but it would have been nicer if the hostess had been welcoming no matter what.

Great experience last night at Marcello's in Covington. This might just become our favorite new restaurant! The staff was very welcoming, from hostess, to bartender, to waiter. They worked together very well. We loved the cozy atmosphere - (including bottles of wine everywhere), soft lighting (including the candle on the table), soft music, and good acoustics, which all made for a romantic dining event. The bread was very tasty. My eggplant parmesan and my wife's tuna were excellent. We will definitely be back soon.

Our server, Sydney, truly made the night special. She was amazing: humorous, warm, and refreshingly honest with her recommendations, which we really appreciated. She went above and beyond to accommodate our needs and was more than willing to make adjustments without hesitation, making us feel genuinely welcomed and cared for. Great food, outstanding service, and a comfortable atmosphere. We would definitely dine here again and highly recommend asking for Sydney if you visit!

Everything about the restaurant was perfect, the service, food,and cozy atmosphere. I recommend the eggplant pasta dish 😉(forgot the name) Tiramisu was perfect light and yummy/not too strong in sugar or coffee. Me and my boyfriend went for the first time and will definitely be back to try more!

My husband and I had a rare date night and we do not venture out to different restaurants much. I am a big fan of lasagna and decided to try an Italian restaurant we haven’t been to yet. Marcello’s did not disappoint. The lasagna was amazing! My husband ordered the chicken Parmesan, again, it was amazing! Zero leftovers came home with us. The red sauce for each plate had the best taste and there is no such thing as too much cheese! Our server was a young lady, unfortunately I cannot remember her name, but she has long brown hair and this is only her 2nd week. She did phenomenal! She was extremely personable and made us laugh. (We had a conversation about how we both love the corner pieces of brownies.) I hope we have her again when we come back because we will be back!

Very good food, but quite expensive! Love the atmosphere too. Wr looking for a family type place we could eat at at least once a week but just can't handle the prices. They need a birthday club too. Or specials, would bring in more customers.

It was okay. The pasta needed a little more flavor. The atmosphere and the staff were nice. It's hard to beat the current competition in downtown Covington. Not my favorite, buy not bad.

Great formal dine place. Service was excellent. Very friendly and polite servers. Place was crowded when we showed up without reservation after a long day of driving, However staff went out of the way to accommodate us.

My wife and I gave Macello’s a try and we were not disappointed! We had the Eggplant Parmigiana and the veal parmigiana, which were really good! The veal was tender enough to cut with a fork, no knife needed! Generous servings too. Love the wine set up and the ability to pick out your own wine. Service was good, the place was packed. It was very loud inside, which would be the only hang up if you’re looking for a quiet dinner. We loved the energy of the place and we will definitely be back!

The food was delicious. Our group of 6 sampled lots of items and everything was delicious and got two thumbs up from everyone. The atmosphere is cozy and familial. The wine options are vast but not listed and not very organized. Requiring you to walk the racks and take time away from the table and impact the atmosphere of the evening. Please make a wine list. The service need more support role. Back wait, bus, or something. The server left us for long stretches of time with empty glasses and limited interactions. Their knowledge of the menu was basic and their knowledge of the wine and spirits was when less than that. There was effort and a warm attitude so nothing terrible. They just need the proper amount of wait staff to create something closer to fine dining and they need to take more time to educate the staff. We will be back.

Food was excellent, however our waiter was not. He only came to our table to take our order and to deliver our bill. He never once asked how we were, how our meal was, or if we needed anything. He depended on the other staff to deliver our courses, refill our waters, etc. This was our first time at Marcello's and I expected better from such a nice restaurant serving such delicious food.

Was not a fan of them yelling at their waiter in front of customers. We were excited to go but then not happy at the experience.

Great lasagna. Service was a little slow/overworked but who isn't these days. They did fumble in one area: I called in a birthday reservation and asked if they do a complimentary dessert (for my wife). They said yes and made note of it. Well it never came out, so I had to speak up and blow the surprise. They brought it out soon enough so no big deal. Then I look at the bill later... They charged for it! Granted, it was Tiramisu, but there was definitely a communication problem.

Went to Marcellos for lunch with another couple around 1:30 p.m. Friday afternoon. The service was not good. One young man waiting on all the tables, slow service. Ordered drinks, took forever to get them. The food was ok, nothing to write mom about. Maybe when they get more servers, it might be better. Good luck!

Everything is amazing here! One of the best Italian places on the northshore! Our server was outstanding! There seafood pasta, calamari, tiramisu are divine!! Chocolate Espresso martinis are not to be missed if you still have room :) 3rd visit food is delicious. Service is terrible. We sat for 15 min before we even got water. Another 10 just to get our wine order. Disappointing. Waiter seemed very bothered to serve us.

I had heard so many good things about his restaurant, so I decided to make a reservation, if they had any tables left in Mid week, and was told they are not open on Easter Sunday. This is the second busiest day for a restaurant, besides Mother’s Day, and they are not open. Help me out here, please!! Can someone please explain to me how a restaurant does not open its’ doors on Easter Sunday. I guess they are closed on a Mother’s Day too! The lady I talked to said they are always closed on Sunday & Monday. So are a lot of nice restaurant, but they open up for Easter & Mother’s Day. Unbelievable!!

Stepped in with our kids without reservation the waitress and waiter were nice. The manager(a bald guy with glasses on at the bar, not sure if it’s manager or owner or whatever) was extremely rude. I never know for a restaurant with this price range and set up is considered “high end”. Yeah we didn’t dress up and this place might not kids friendly (my kids are best behaved ones that grow up with fine dines), we got that so I wasn’t upset at all. We just simply didn’t feel cook and found a random restaurant to eat at an ordinary day as always. But the food… come on, below average. I don’t quite understand those good reviews about the food, I guess we’re just spoiled by the excellent food and top bar restaurants around the world. Seriously unless you can bring the best food on the table or there’s no reason to be arrogant and narcissistic think you are luxurious. Thousands choices around the Northshore area or just drive further to go New Orleans. If you have to go, apparently, don’t bring the kids!

We were greeted nonchalantly by a young man with a rag in his back pocket. He ushered us to our table and left. He did not seat me. A young man of few words. Our waitress was very soft spoken and robotic. We asked the runner who brought my salad to take a picture of us because it was my birthday and she said, “well I guess I have a moment.” There were only 2 other tables with patrons. My husband did not eat his lasagna. It looked over done and he said it was too cheesy and very little meat. My chicken molli was acceptable but surely not worth the price. We eat out often and we felt quite awkward there. It is not our idea of fine dining! We do not recommend it so all!

Went to have a drink friday at 9:15pm with my wife at the bar and the bartender told us they were closed, and didn't say anything else. The look I got was it was time to go home. I’ve been wanting to go here for a while because it looked nice and quaint, but this experience just ruined it forever. A very unwelcoming experience. We immediately went Del Porte and it was extremely nice. Will never go back to Marcello’s!

Owner, Blakley, refused to honor my gift card and was very ugly about it. Food was mediocre. Didn't even finish cheesecake because it tasted like nothing.

Horrible experience at MARCELLOS, first and last time for our visit….no second chance for us. Being in the service industry I feel the owner (Blakely Kymen) should be aware of what’s happening at her restaurant by her staff while not being present during a very busy Holiday Season, I certainly would want to be aware. The waiter, (no name due to never be introduced) very inexperienced, having to ask for everything ‘needed’ for a meal as simple as forks, small plates, reminding of drinks ordered, cold coffee, creamer, the list goes on and on. After multiple mishaps our party of six finally decided to ask for management to help guide our time to a smoother and enjoyable Holiday celebration, surprisingly no manager nor owner on site, we were given a ‘card’ to contact owners after multiple requests. The unknown named waiter (possibly Jordan-noted from another employee) became very rude after bringing the wrong bill (including wrong prices) to us ‘multiple’ times (4+ ), he was offended to be called out. This was a bit shocking to hear as all the mistakes were on him/restaurant not the paying customers. While we had no manager/owner to express our experience a very young man, Austin (only a name was given, no position to restaurant, I assume a bartender as he was seen only behind the bar) ‘attempted’ to help. This was not very helpful at all, he was pretty clueless as the waiter to be totally honest. Both Austin and unknown waiter became very rude and no doubt inconveniencing our table (family) including our 80 year old parents which wasn’t taken lightly. They were very much affected by this unpleasant experience at this so called family restaurant, We will pass this experience on to others so they can be aware of the establishment they may or ‘HOPEFULLY NOT’ visit that is quite expensive and definitely not worth the disappointment. So many other restaurants in our area that reflect our wants and needs…excellent service, delicious food, and great staff, sorry MARCELLOS…this isn’t you. Disappointed patrons

Was one of my favorite place to go until last night. I ordered a drink that I thought I may like and didn't. Appeared that they were going replace it and when the manager came and asked about how our meal was my husband was honest that it wasn't his favorite. Didn't ask to have it paid for, he ate it. He just gave her his opinion and then we got yelled at. Told that we were the "kind of people" that wanted to get things for free! The manager and bartender attacked us and we were told not to come back. We go there at least twice a month and gladly spend good money there. It was an awful discriminating experience.
