In a small mountain town, it's nice to have quality Mexican food close to home. Toni's has always been our go-to place for dine-in or take-out. The staff is friendly and welcoming, the price is right, and the food is always delicious.
This place was amazing, the food was delicious, the service was amazing but most of all the view while enjoying your meal was phenomenal
Not just amazing food but even better atmosphere, out side seating (no worries they have outdoor heating), Indoor seating where you can open a window and enjoy the view of the lake. Or sit in the warmth near the kitchen. The service and the people that work here treat you like family. Absolutely my favorite place up here!
Toni's is one of the best restaurants in the area. Don't expect anything too fancy, usually you can just sit wherever you like. The chips and salsa served with your meal are great. Their iced tea tastes good and doesn't have that metallic taste you get some places. The California Burrito is my favorite. It's HUGE and reasonably priced. Can't imagine leaving this place still hungry. I've had friends try to order multiple dishes only to discover they couldn't even finish a single one.
Such a fun place to visit. Everytime were in the mountain we always make it a point to stop here. We love eating outside with a view! food is delicious staff is so friendly. The owner even goes table to table to check on you. Definitely would recommend. Didn't have time to take a picture of the food lol but it was such a beautiful day when we went.
Perfect location across the street from the lake with great view, great food, and good drinks. It's rare to find good restaurants up in the mountains. Definitely won't regret giving this place a try. FYI, if you want more lemons, there's an extra fee, but to their credit, they give you a generous amount. Goes well with their well sized oysters 👌👍🤙😎
🌟 My Review of This Restaurant 🌟 As a frequent traveler who enjoys experiencing different cultures and cuisines, I must say this restaurant is a hidden gem. It offers a stunning view of the lake, making dining here a memorable experience. The atmosphere feels Mexican or Latin-inspired, with delicious and beautifully presented dishes. I ordered the fish with rice, and it was absolutely delicious—beyond expectations. The portion was generous, enough for one person, and the food was served hot and fresh. The staff were friendly, efficient, and welcoming, enhancing the overall experience. I also appreciated how the menu was simple and easy to understand, with clear photos of each dish to make ordering easy. 🌟 I highly recommend this restaurant for its scenic views, excellent food, and outstanding service. 🌟
Service and atmosphere were not great. Couldn't get a lot of help and wanted to place our group outside in the cold after we spent hours on a hike in the cold and requested and indoor area. One of the other guests opened the window so it was cold anyways defeats the purpose of eating indoors to be warm. The food was pretty good though would maybe give it another chance. Update: Gave it another chance they definitely redeemed themselves. Service was pretty good they were not busy at that time so seating was immediate. Food portions, quality and prices are decent.
We booked a room next door and were hungry for good food. Horchata tasted homemade with cinnamon in it. Food was amazingly good, like homemade. I asked for a Michelada and it was perfect. And the staff were so welcoming. We sat outside where you can view the lake while eating and listening to music music being played. We'll be back.
On behalf of Troop 468 from South Gate, CA. We would like to thank Miguel and his team for their continuing support on feeding us every year when we go and come back from summer camp. The food and service is EXCELLENT. The food is alway on time and warm. The staff always finds room for us with little to no waiting time. The place is clean and has a great view of Lake Gregory. You MUST eat here and try their California Wet Burrito or the must have desert for our troop the Ice Cream Nachos. Than you Miguel and staff.
A very extensive menu... On a first visit to any Mexican restaurant, I order a pork tamal, cheese enchilada, and chili relleno with rice and beans. I want to get a taste of the general basics. Their #51 combination plate was just that. To start, I actually liked the rice. That's rare for me. The beans were very average. The enchilada was rather tasteless. The tamal, equally so. The Relleno, on the other hand, was very good. I read somewhere, I believe on this site, that their margaritas were wine based. It's not my cup of tea, so I didn't order one. Instead, I ordered a Modelo. It was cold and refreshing. Then, I found out that they did, indeed, have tequila margaritas, and I ordered a "Pamarita". That's a margarita with an additional shot of pomegranate liquor - very, very good!! Service; It was dinner time on a Friday night and moderately busy. I was a single diner, with my dog, on their outdoor patio. It seemed like an eternity to even be acknowledged. Once the server arrived, she was pleasant and helpful. Although, in the course of the meal, she was rather non-existent. I even had to flag her down to get the check. Atmosphere was typical Mexican decor, quaint, but appropriate. "Live" music on the patio. It was a bit quirky, but nevertheless, somewhat entertaining. Because of the size of my combination plate, the beer and large margarita, my bill was $55, including a 20% gratuity. (I felt generous in spite of the mediocre service) The relleno, rice, and beverages saved this dining experience!!!
Good food, great service, decent view of lake, perfect location for city and lake days. Got the hot wings app. They were really good and hot 🔥not skimpy at all. Definitely filled me up. Main chorus I got the Aguachiles. It was amazing, but idk it it was just mine it wasn't spicy at all. My mother got the non-alcoholic mango drink thing. Lol sorry forgot the name. It hit the spot. So followed that with the chillie Verde tostada. The meat was tender & juicy. The chips are fresh & crispy.
The mocajete is delicious and a ton of food for 2 people. The new lake view counter seating is great too. The service is reliably slow and inattentive. Review update - on every table they advertise a free shot in return for reviews but the shots were never delivered, even though I showed it to them and reminded our waitress twice.
I ordered fish tacos and chili rellanos. Fish was pieces of small fish, not Baja style! Chili rellanos had scant amount of cheese in it and the sauce on it was not good. I have been going there for years but their prices have doubled and food was just ok this trip. Hubby got a Cadillac Margareta and said flavor was not good 😐
Every single time i order birria tacos i always ask for consume on the side. They always reassure me it comes with it and i never recieve it !!! The food is normally good but they are constantly messing orders up. Yesterday i got tacos and there was so much cheese that wasnt even fully metled. Majority of the meat was all fat and there were even tomatoes in it ? 😭
I ordered the sopes and I saw an awesome picture on the menu. When I got them they were soggy, and the carne asada was disgusting. I finished one sope and felt like throwing up. Praying I don’t get sick.
We were a large group for a pre wedding celebration. It's understandable that groups can be challenging for several reasons (splitting checks, multiple tables, a lot of food at one time for kitchen staff, and keeping up on drinks, etc.) It took 45 for staff to take our food order, after two separate people went into the main restaurant area (from the patio we were sat at) to request orders be taken. Then at the two hour mark, every single person was finished eating and waiting for checks, we had to ask for them because we hadn't seen staff in at least the last 10 minutes. Over all disappointed. Small groups probably would fare better.
I do not even know where to start. I got there at 1pm and I did not get my food until 3pm, the service was terrible the woman who served us was very rude by talking to me with a tone or rolling her eyes at me. Then the food had came and it was disgusting. The soup had no flavor and it was a entirely different soup from what I had ordered and when I brought it up to her she was upset because I wanted a refund ALTHOUGH I did not even eat the soup. I’m entirely sure she over charged me as well. Needless to say the experience was horrible do not waste your time here.
