We were happy to find this place, as Google had us zigzagging across the state from Yosemite to Monterey. The food was great, and the service was fast and friendly. Best of all, we are from a small dairy farming town in north Texas (Windthorst), so it was interesting to compare the life and farming practices with what we are familiar with. This cozy restaurant with it's cowboy theme would fit right into our hometown.

The best breakfast I have had in a long time. It tastes like home. I am originally from the deep South and the atmosphere here made me feel like eating at my grandma's house. Really a great place to eat and the waitress made me feel at home. The coffee makes me want to come back for more.

This is one of the most original cowboy country theme restaurant I have ever seen. Beautiful Western decorations and paintings hanging on the walls. The food in this restaurant is some of the greatest food I have ever eaten. The food was fresh tasty and very likable. The waitress was very friendly and gave excellent customer service. I highly recommend this restaurant to everyone to experience the great atmosphere and fantastic food.

The breakfast was delicious! It was so hard to choose what to eat, everything sounded so good. The menu was not overwhelming large, it had the perfect amount of options. This is one of my favorite Country Style breakfast places, most folks don't know about because it's out in the country for real. Meals are made to have leftovers, very filling to the belly. A must go! I would call in because it gets busy.

The eggs were a great consistency, and the Chile Verde was full of pork, and had just enough heat / spiciness to be noticeable and pleasant to someone like me who loves spicy food, but not so hot that it should be unpleasant to somebody that may not like a lot of heat in their dishes. It came with a side of country potatoes with bell peppers and onions, and everything was cooked to perfection, as well as the pancakes that came as another side. They were simple, but nice and fluffy, and not dried out. The iced tea was decent but tasted a little bit watered down, and I think my only real complaint would be the biscuit that I ordered on the side with the biscuit and gravy. The gravy had good flavor, but the biscuit was unfortunately kind of like a hockey puck. I picked at it anyway, and ate the softest parts of it. Also the parking situation is rough, but there's not much to do about that haha. I'm not sure if I was supposed to park where I did, but I was in and out pretty fast and no one complained and my car wasn't towed away😅 My server was also wonderful! I didn't catch her name, but she had her hair up in a clip and was tall. Her service was amazing, she checked on me consistently, and offered me things like sauces and containers before I even had a chance to ask for them, which I absorbed l actually really appreciate, so that way I don't end up forgetting or feeling like I'm pestering when I ask. She greeted me as soon as I came in the door and let me sit wherever I wanted, constant smile on her face, and eager to answer any questions that anybody had! Overall, I would give this place a solid 9 out of 10! May have to come back on a Thursday night when they open for dinner - prime rib and rib eyes on the barbecue at 5:00 p.m! Fantastic service, fantastic food overall. Can't wait to come back again and try some other items😁

7-1-25 I really enjoyed the Farmers Den Burger today! I am all about their breakfast and now I am on board with their lunch! The Farmers Den Burger has all the juicy flavors that you would expect a good burger to have. It comes with two patties, cheese, and bacon. I will let the pictures speak for itself. I upgraded to chili fries which are a must if you are ordering fries because the chili is made from scratch in house. For my beverage I had root beer. I had a really nice conversation with Evelyn Costa. She and her daughter Monique are the owners. The service here is always great and the food never disappoints. 12-27-2024 I enjoyed another well executed breakfast at Farmers Den. This morning I had Pork Chops and Scrambled Eggs with Hash Browns. The flavors were on point! For my bread option I had a biscuit with gravy. Along with many other menu items here, the biscuits are made in house. For my beverages, I enjoyed a delicious cup of hot cocoa, black coffee and ice water. I love the service here and every food experience has been top notch. 9-12-24 Today I had The Diced Linguica Scramble at Farmers Den. It was amazing! I also had their “made in house”biscuit with gravy. For my beverages I had Orange Juice, black coffee, and ice water. Farmers Den never disappoints! I want to try their Prime Rib Thursday Dinner Special sometime. 8-13-24 I had the Texas Chili Bean Omelette and it was delicious beyond my expectations! They make the chili in house. Their biscuits and gravy are also made in house. The service is always great here. Wow! I finally found a good breakfast place that actually knows how to do breakfast right! The service here was excellent! The portion sizes are huge! I had the chicken fried steak with gravy, two eggs scrambled, and country potatoes. It also comes with biscuits and gravy or your choice of side. I will definitely say that the gravy had flavor the biscuit was thick and not thin. Every bite I savored had lots of flavor. I will definitely be back for another visit in the near future. Places like this are hard to come by. So do yourself a favor and take a drive out to Farmer’s Den and enjoy yourself a great delicious breakfast. The Portuguese Rice is amazing.

What a cute place! Good chicken salad - the chicken itself was marinated and had a great flavor. People mostly come for the big country-style breakfasts. Good place to rub elbows with farmers. :-) Must-try: onion rings!!

Farmers Den used to be packed out a lot. I hadn't been there in a few years, and I was looking forward to enjoying a good meal. We were seated right away. Though there was almost nobody there. We got drinks quickly. Checked out the menu. I ordered Biscuits and Gravy with Eggs and Sausage. My brother got an ortega omelet with Hash browns. My biscuits and gravy looked hopeful. The biscuit was big and fluffy. The gravy looked good, but lacked flavor. It had chunks of sausage in it but the sausage was lacking much flavor. The two sausages with the meal were plump and fat, but not flavorful. The eggs were fine. My brother's Ortega was very small. It had a big slab of Ortega Chile on top of it. He said it tasted okay. The hashbrowns were a nice color, but it was a VERY thin slab of spuds. The server was on her phone on earbuds and not really checking up. Overall, it will be awhile before we go back. Over the years this place lost their way. They need to try other places to see how to make good food with normal portions.

My family and I went here for breakfast the day after Christmas. First, they were out of hash browns, which was a bummer. The portions of eggs were pretty skimpy, and the house potatoes were pretty bland. Overall, a pretty average place.

My only complaint about this place is the cost! It's ridiculously expensive. A glass of orange juice alone is $4!! You can get a whole jug at the store for that price! I payed $52 for 2 breakfasts and 1 of my breakfasts was only 2 over easy eggs, toast and 2 links. Other then that, the place is clean, the staff is great and overall experience is usually good.

I ordered the Texas chili omelet. , with sourdough toast and they gave me margarine, not butter, they do not use butter, that's why I give the rating I gave.. they cook and use margarine, which is not good for you.

Went here today for brkfst/lunch.philly cheese steak was not worth what they charge and had no taste.Seveice sucked had to get up and get my own soda refill and to remind u only 3 tables had people not bisy at all.The 2 waitresses disapoeared.We have been here plenty of times at one point weekly.Not sure when i will go bk

Used to be my favorite, brought my kids in table of 3 waited over hour figured we'd have a small wait, we were patient kept getting ignored, when I flagged down a waitress she blames another for putting our tab in late. While 3 other tables who arrived after us got their meals. We could hear the staff trying to find our order, not an apology or explanation they just didn't even acknowledge my children and I so we walked out with our empty stomachs. Pure disappointment. I wish I could zero star you.

Wanted to take my mom out for breakfast today and an older waitress approached us, served us coffee, btw she seemed to have shaky hands because she spilled coffee both times she filled my cup and no apology was given. No biggie, I cleaned up her spills twice. My Mother and I waited over an hour…one person who came after us was served, another big group that also came after us was served. I thought maybe our food was next. Well, it wasnt. After the third person I honestly was upset that everyone was getting served but my Mom and I. I waved someone and explained to them the situation and my original waiter approached and said my tag was lost which was why our food had not been started. I said I understood that things happen, but what I did not understand was her seeing us sitting there over an hour and not even check on us nor explain the situation after her serving everyone. Not sure if the owner was the one who I waved down, but she did not seem to care of the experience we had at their establishment. It honestly felt they werent too fond of our presence there since everyone who was dining at the time seemed to be white and we were not. Not a pleasant experience at all. Will definitely not consider this place again to ever bring anyone I know.

It was just ok, mostly cause I asked for a grilled chicken, the chicken I got was equivalent to 1 piece of small chicken, if I would of got the whole piece that would of been nice but it seems like I recieved half of that small piece pulled apart, so really no chicken on my grilled chicken salad. So about $18 for just lettuce.

$42.37 for a meat omelette with extra hash browns. $7.99 for an order of hash browns. A very small three egg omelette. I think they were parakeet eggs. Toast was cold with the butter not melted and had to ask for jam. Best of all the bread was stale. Nope never going back. It’s just a ripoff.

When the server finally returned (mind you there were only 3 other families in there besides us) we let her know and she took the plate and never returned. Left the ticket. The cost of food was outrageous but to be expected with the inflation but not justified when your food is rotten. When we went up to pay the owner said we were lying that she has 2 other customers eating it (one was the guy in our party that didn’t even eat his scrambled eggs and ham) she said since we ate the potatoes that she will only take $10 off.
