Opinions de Simonette Culver City
Had a great time here last night for happy hour. The courtyard seating and bar is all open air, and it's so lovely. Our server was fantastic. One of the things that most impressed me: my friend asked if they have mocktails, and our server asked for some flavors she likes in drinks. Then she had the bar make a custom mocktail based on my friend's preferences. Quite a service differentiator! When my friend ordered a second one, they offered to make a new custom one. She loved both. The fries were served piping hot and they were deliciously seasoned. My American burger was HUGE and mouth-watering good. I'd skip the tapenade next time--I prefer a chunkier tapenade where I can control the portion. All in all, a great spot for happy hour.
A really enjoyable French dinner on the ground floor of the Palihotel. It’s really bright and open inside and the whole ambience is really great. A really beautiful bar as well as seating inside and outside complete with a tree in the middle of the outdoor dining area. Our server was very polite and attentive and did a great job. They offer valet parking at the hotel but it’s easier to just find street parking or park at the Culver Steps. We were able to find metered parking a block away for a 7 PM Saturday dinner. We started off with the Seasonal Salad, which was a champagne vinaigrette and arugula salad with goat cheese. It was a great start, very light, and very good. We followed that up with the Steak Tartare, and it too was very good. For our entrées, we chose the Filet de Boeuf and Roasted Bass. I especially enjoyed the sauce that covered the filet and the fish was very buttery and cooked perfectly. We were to full after our meal to do dessert, but would definitely try that next time. Overall a great French dinner in Culver City. I would recommend to anyone searching for a great casual dinner spot. I hear their brunch and lunch is also very good as well.
Love this spot. Went for happy hour and got the Parisienne soooo delish! Prepare to be in a food coma after haha
Not sure why such a low rating. The stand-outs of this restaurant are the ambiance and how nice/chill the waiters are. The food is a solid 4/5 stars ; not inventive but very fresh and healthy and not overfilling/gross. I had the nicoíse salad which was fresh , crunchy , delicious and not over-dressed. The oysters were very fresh and clean. The drinks were good and complimented the food well. The vibes though, very nice Parisian little bistro with lights arranged around a tree in a smaller place. The vibes are wonderful for dinner or happy hour with a loved one or friends. Will definitely stop by again !
Beautiful spot! Spectacular really. Great happy hour, although only until 6 and best part is they don’t force you to sit at bar! You can sit anywhere and make reservations. We had an absolutely horrid bartender ERIC - he literally ignored us when we spoke directly to him - twice, when he was done he said, ok what is it u wanted. He could have acknowledged our presence but no- ignored us until he decided to. When I asked him what the cocktail of the day, he said “high noon” so I asked “what is a high noon” and he literally took a box of premade cans of high noon out of fridge - plonked it down in front of us - the entire box - and left it there! Thank goodness another bartender RUBIN showed up and he was courteous, pleasant, funny and friendly. OVERALL, besides for Eric, we had a wonderful experience. Ohh the happy hour food is well priced and tasty.
Went to this hidden gem in Downtown Culver City for their happy hour from 3pm to 6pm. $10 for a sizeable, high quality burger is an amazing deal these days! I got the Parisienne burger, but they have 3 on the happy hour menu. Lagers are $4. The atmosphere of the interior is really awesome. The walls are painted a really beautiful blue, and there are guitar amps hanging from the ceiling acting as speakers. All in all, this happy hour is a must try.
Simonette is beautiful inside, and I delayed my lunch to coincide with their Happy Hour starting at 3:00. I was motivated by their great burgers. Today I tried a Parisienne burger. It’s July 4, 2025, but there aren’t cookouts in my social calendar. I thought I’d celebrate the (French) people who crafted and gave us the Statue of Liberty.
Simonette is located inside the Pali Hotel. I enjoy the typical Pali hotel crowd. This location, being in Culver City tends to have more of an after office tech worker crowd. The happy hour is a great deal! I had the Burger Americain. Just the classic American style burger .. 2 thick patties, the mayo sauce, the cheese, the onion. It was very satisfying. It was 1/2 price of regular menu. $9 only for happy hour! Fries was $5! On menu are also a $7 wine, $8 cocktail of the day - a margarita that day. Fabulous offering! I will certainly come back! One more thing. Parking is a beotchh on the streets around it. Unless you valet. Best is to park in the mall parking or the parking behind Trader Joe’s - 1st hour free.
Had the Parisienne Burger at Simonette during happy hour ($10). Juicy, flavorful, and perfectly messy in the best way. It’s everything you want in a burger. The sesame bun was soft yet sturdy, and the sauce-to-meat ratio was spot on. Great vibes on the patio too. Highly recommend stopping by for this deal. it’s a steal for the quality
We had a truly delightful experience at this charming French restaurant. Despite a couple of minor imperfections — a stained napkin and a small hair found in one of the dishes — the overall quality and atmosphere were exceptional. The food was simply outstanding. Our server was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, recommending a dish that turned out to be absolutely delicious. And the French onion soup? That was a 10 out of 5. I was genuinely blown away. The taste instantly brought me back to my trip to Paris — the last time I was there, I was 14 years old, and it’s been 14 years since. That familiar, authentic flavor was exactly as I remembered it. It was a nostalgic and emotional culinary moment I didn’t expect — and won’t forget. Highly recommend this place if you’re looking for real, soul-touching French cuisine and warm, welcoming service.

Last minute celebration of our 31 anniversary. Made a reservation for 2. Never dined here before but have walked by in the past. Simonette accommodated us by adding a third seat for us when our daughter joined us. It was a packed Monday, and the restaurant told us there was all evening happy hour. The food was fantastic. Mussels were great, oysters, happy hour hamburger as well as the nicoise salad were all fabulous. They humored us by giving us a little candled creme brulee for our anniversary. Thanks Simonette! We will be back.
Went for happy hour on half priced bottled Wednesday. The restaurant is super cute and nailed the bistro patio vibe. Sadly they were out of oysters, but I guess we’ll just have to go back. We shared a couple different burgers and oh wow were they good. We preferred the Parisienne style over the American one which was almost like an upgraded In n Out burger. A few people at surrounding tables ordered the French Onion soup which looked yummy. It was pretty busy by 6:30pm on a weekday, so make that Open Table reservation! Simonette is on the ground level of the PaliHotel which is behind the movie theater in downtown Culver City. There’s valet parking or if you walk a block you can park at the public walk but the Culver Hotel.

It is right in downtown QRO. It has cool vibes inside the restaurant. The staff was very friendly and supportive. The language was an issue but somehow managed it. Guacamole was the best part of everything. The overall food quality is good but it’s little bland. There is no parking next to the restaurant however nearby street parking is available.
Taking place at Palihotel, Simonette clearly delivered that classic elegant brunch vibe. Bit of feeling teleported into a French cafe, making it perfect spot for chillin' weekend brunch with my friends. Scoring more wins, the foods were also palatable. Some of us went for their Americaine burger which came in pretty filling portions, especially as it's also served with generous fries (you could open for salad substitution as well!). My friends who opted for it said the patty was juicy and the sauce was flavorful. I was more of the dainty side, picking their Steak Tartare Crostone, which was surprisingly not as light as I thought. Abundantly served steak tartare on top of a slice of sourdough with a hint of truffle. Simple yet doubtlessly delicate choice! More speedy service could make it deserve the fifth star :)
5 stars to the gentleman who gave my dog a tennis ball. Our server seemed irritable and didn’t check on us. The host was also super nice. The oysters were truly divine but we were not wowed with the salad and the clams. Awesome coffee though and dog friendly! Decent free street parking nearby. + love love the ambiance. For the price I paid I hoped for more.
I went there for Happy Hour on a friday and I was able to find a seat at the bar. It was fairly busy. The place is super cute, there's a garden patio like area where the tables where with a huge tree in the center. The Happy Hour red wine was $8 a glass and a decent pour. The oysters were good. Nothing special about them, they were fresh. The croquettes were delish! You can't really go wrong with fried battered potatoes balls, and the aoli complimented the croquettes well. Now for the newer dish, that was tuna tartar and the server asked for my feedback and I was honest, also he kind of warned me about the presentation. It tasted good, or fine. I think that's scrambled eggs on top? Anywho, it looked like canned tuna, it obviously isn't and didn't taste like that. I recommended adding some microgreens for some color and texture. I did love the idea of shrimp chips vs the typical wontons so that was impressive. I'll have to come back for lunch or try their HH burger, it's worth it since it's only $12. Fries sold separately.
Petite. Not even have a lobby, but I love this type of French style. I loved my seating. No body bothered one another. Sometimes through arranging the seats, you can tell a waitress’s intelligence. I loved my blue corner especially when the sun was out. Simple breakfast to start a great day. Nothing could be better than this. It is not 5 star, but really satisfied me. Like this place!

Food was not as warm as I would like it.... apple dessert tasted burned :(. Service was great. The valet was easy ... No credit cards outside just cash :). $17 for parking plus tips :). More to say?
Had lunch there on a Saturday afternoon. Valet parking was already full, and it took us a while to find street parking, because the majority of streets in this neighborhood are permit parking only. We had the croquettes, gem salad, moules frites and the Parisian burger. Overall ok, but nothing exceptional. Recommend stopping by if in the area, but wouldn’t make a special trip for it.
Very cute spot inside the Culver City location of the always vibey Palihotels. The interior decorator did a great job with this cute little French bistro because we all know ambience mattersss. I did feel as though the food is a bit overpriced for what you get. I’m certainly not one to shy away from an expensive meal, but I couldn’t help feel that we were being overcharged for kid’s sized portions on some of the items. For example, we ordered a $17 appetitizer of Mozzarella & Bottarga (crustinis and mozarella), and they brought us two small pieces of toast. Um… that price is a NO for me. Taste wise - no complaints - maybe because it cost so much, I had to convince myself that it was delicious. We also ordered the mussels and burger and a nice bottle of Sauvignon Blanc to celebrate Mother’s Day. We definitely left this meal feeling underwhelmed solely because of the food value to cost which is why it’s a 3 stars for me. Service, ambiance and taste were all good though! 4 stars for this! Just maybe steer clear of that appetizer or ask about portions before ordering!
Food selection was good but some items were too salty and others were small portions. Service was good but they did miss one dish and we had them cancel it. We got lattes and they were okay.

We were excited to try this place out because it's french cuisine. I made reservations for my husband's birthday because he is a huge francophile. The restaurant is kinda tucked away behind the main strip in downtown Culver City. The atmosphere was nice but it only gets a 3 because everything else about this place was so bad. We sat down, ordered drinks, a small appetizer to share, and our entrees. I noticed that something was wrong when it took between 10 to 15 minutes to get our drinks. But I decided to ignore that as just being a busy day for them. 30 minutes later and our appetizer hasn't arrived. So we asked the waitress who said it would be out "shortly". 45 minutes pass and still no appetizer. We ask the waitress again and this time, she's a bit defensive. "It's coming soon. If I could make it myself I would." Thats really not the way to respond to a customer. I had noticed that the waitress was not attentive, she wouldn't check on us, she would ignore us as if we were an inconvenience to her. We would have to wave our arms to grab her attention. My husband even asked "Can you at least get us some bread?" She said that the order for bread would take just as long as the appetizer. So no bread. After 45 minutes, my husband doesn't want to stay and he gets up and leaves. I stay behind so I can pay for the drinks when the appetizer finally arrives along with the manager. I speak to the manager and tell her about the delays and the subpar service and the fact that my husband's birthday is ruined. My husband returned looking for me and the manager convinces him to sit down and she says that she will ensure the rest of the evening goes as planned. We eat the appetizer which were vegan croquettes with an aioli. The croquettes were alright, not bad but also not great. The aioli was basically just a pile of mayo. As we finish the appetizer, we notice that the table next to us who arrived later than us and is a larger party gets all their food. At this point my husband has had enough and he just wants to leave. I waved my arms again so the waitress wouldn't ignore me and told her to cancel the order and bring our check because we wanted to leave. To their credit they didn't charge us for the drinks or the subpar appetizer. But that doesn't make up for the ruined birthday celebration. I was very surprised at how bad the experience was at this restaurant. Los Angeles can be a very competitive restaurant market. I have seen much better restaurants than Simonette go under especially since COVID. And the fact that they are tucked away behind the main strip doesn't give them sufficient foot traffic, so word of mouth should be important to them. But I wouldn't recommend this french restaurant to anyone. There are better options all over the city, including Meet In Paris which is literally down the street from this place and has good service and yummy food. Stay away from here.
