Aqui in Cupertino is a popular spot known for fresh, healthy Mexican and Californian fusion dishes with vegan options. The Aqui Swirls (frozen margaritas with sangria) are a customer favorite. It can get busy, especially during dinner, but the lively atmosphere and large portions make it worthwhile.

Really enjoyed my last visit to Aqui Cupertino! They have a new strawberry coconut soju swirl and it was delicious! Always enjoy the chips and guacamole and ordered the Vaquero Fries with chicken. Delicious! Saw some new drinks that had coffee and matcha too but haven’t tried them yet.
Me and my friends and family truly love the menu it’s always fresh and flavorful. And love the verity of the condiments salsas.
This restaurant is beyond amazing and makes some of the best food I have ever had! I wish we had a restaurant like this in Utah. I was so impressed with the quality, flavor, and presentation of the entree's we ordered. The margaritas were to die for. I will defiantly visit Aqui Cupertino when I get back to San Jose. Highly recommended!
Great food and nice atmosphere, would have been better if they took order from table
Its self serve. The food is good and plentiful. The staff is friendly. The prices are reasonable.
I had a Supreme bowl of grass fed beef which had slow cooked tri-tip, avocado, beans, etc. The meat was well cooked and tender. The avocado and salsa was fresh. The food got delivered pretty fast, almost within 5 minutes. I also had a Paradise Patrón Swirl to drink which had a decent kick to it.
Fun and unique Mexican restaurant. Good food at a reasonable price in a relaxed atmosphere. Daily specials and a nice salsa bar.
Aquis has really great and well priced food! The quesadilla and chips were filling and the Mai Tain was a well blended mix of fruity/tropical and alcohol. The burrito/bowl was also appetizing and came with extra salsa and sauces. I also had the chocolate cake which melted seamlessly into my mouth and was absolutely delicious! Overall really great experience!
Came here with my brother one night and got seated right away! There’s a ton of seating so it’s never really an issue. Food: I got the crab cake entree and really loved the portion size and how it was truly a mix of so many different flavors! From the cake itself to the veggies and the sauce, it was an overall combo of different textures and good size. Service: The food came in 20 minutes or so which was a bit slower than expected but we got buzzers that let us know when our food was ready! Ambiance: It was a really casual place and diner type vibe. Great for catch ups and it was dimly lit inside. Overall loved the food and the price was great for dinner and would come again! Feels healthy too.
I really appreciate the menu options! Thw food is fresh and delicious! The swirls are fantastic and I hope that the "painkiller swirl" becomes a permanent menu item someday soon!
I had the Chef's Special. Slow cooked pork birrea. It was soooo good! I also had a sangria Swirl. My first, but not my last!
Although I have always enjoyed eating on the patio at Aqui, there is nothing like eating an amazing Weekly Special entree with an equally amazing Weekly Swirl at home. I look forward to checking their website every Wednesday and seeing what interesting combinations of food and alcohol they come up with.
My first time trying Cal-Mex and they had great vegetarian options. The 5 star rating is for the different dips/salsas self serve counter they have fr you. Nearly 10 varieties of dips apart from the hummus, guac, pico de gallo, and the beans in the chips sampler. The cojito taquitos were a little too sweet for me and the sangria swirl was too strong for me but other than that i would totally recommend this place. Also the crowd was decent for a Wednesday dinner so we didn't really have much of a wait time.
Great spot to gather. The fact that you walk up leaves no confusion on the tab etc. Yummy salsa bar too!
The menu is superb with options to please anyone from meat lovers to vegans. Fish, poultry, main dishes, salads, awesome desserts... The margaritas are awesome. Always go for the industrial strength option or the Hornitos. But really, they are all good. Just love this place, especially on weekends before concerts. Before main dishes get the hummus, bean dip, guacamole sampler. Pictured here.
Vibrant atmosphere, we went around 6pm on a Saturday night and it was crowded. The avocado salsa dip was awesome. Big portion of avocado (ice cream scoop size) with fresh chips. The West Coast Salmon was delicious, especially with the papayas. The Tilapia Taco was also good but a bit messy to eat. The fish was moist and the pankco crust was perfect.
We loved everything about this place! This place has good vegetarian options and the portions are wholesome. The devil is in the details. - Service: The items are self serve, you carry them to the table of your choice. -Ambiance: They have both indoor and outdoor sitting. We chose the outdoor seating and the whole place had such a breezy vibe. - Food: We ordered the Californian enchiladas and the thai tofu bowl. The thai bowl was a little dry, and we generally prefer bowls that have a good amount of dressing in them. The Californian enchiladas were perfect for us, and we devoured every bit of it. - Details: We prefer getting hot water with our food and never personally a fan of water with ice. They had a dispenser to get hot drinking water. This was a huge plus. They had a salsa bar with various kinds of salsas and hot sauces. We like a bit of heat in our food, so we ended up trying most of the items in the bar and tbh, they were pretty good. They also had mocktails and special drinks for the day, so if you avoid alcohol, it is worth trying.
I’ve been going here for years and I’ve never had a meal I didn’t like. The service is quick, and the menu features lots of yummy vegetarian and vegan options! Reasonably priced for the quality of food too! Highly recommend. Only thing is that the restaurant can get a bit loud during peak hours.
Great Mexican food even for vegetarians. We loved everything about this place. They have a salsa bar too and everything is eggless except the obvious ranch. You can have unlimited dips from here. We liked the mango habanero dip the most. Price is very reasonable, less than $15 per person. Hand made drinks are also good and refreshing.
My favorite place for Mex in the entire Bay Area! Too much praise for this place. Healthy, delicious, and extremely well priced. Aqui is truly unique and a fantastic recipe for success I wish I saw more. Not to mention plenty of parking and always friendly service. Living in Cupertino, I love sitting here to work or grab grub.
Aqui Cupertino offers fresh, flavorful Californian cuisine with a creative twist. The food is healthy, portions are generous, and the atmosphere is casual and inviting. Great spot for a relaxed meal with friends or family!
A casual Mexican dining in Cupertino. Food is awesome and not pricey. Ambience is nice. It's like a self service restaurant where you go up to the counter, pay and order and pick up the food when the buzzer goes off. It can get crowded on weekends. There is decent parking available.
This place is truly amazing. Their prices are incredibly reasonable and their food is very flavorful and delicious. All organic and healthy. I don't get sick when I eat here it's truly a great place.
I make it a tradition to visit Aqui whenever I am in the area. I SWEARRRR by this place. The swirls will make you feel soo amazing! They are so flavorful and the team always has special flavors to add to their original on the menu. The food is always so fulfilling at a great price. So refreshing and makes me feel like I’m eating real healthy and clean, so i don’t feel so guilty downing two swirls. The outside seating is so nice during a summer day or evening. I cannot emphasize how much I love Aqui!!
The food is delicious every time I try something new. The margarita swirls are delicious and love trying the new favors they come up with every month. The staff are great when ordering at the counter and not very busy when I stopped by around 6:30pm. There was plenty of sitting inside and outside when trying to find a table. The facility is clean, and staff make rounds to clean the tables and pick up the dishes often.
Still my go to restaurant. I keep going back! Not sure if it's the delicious swirls or the cops and beans and Chipotle sour cream or the staff and fun people at the bar. The food is consistently delicious and I feel healthy. The pozole is worth getting when they have it. Usually the specials are also a great option. Or you can count on some of the great gluten free or dairy free or vegan or peanut free options. They accommodate without an extra charge. My favorite on the menu is their salmon salad. Just the perfect rate of tart dressing to go with the grains and lettuce mix.
Excellent Mexican/Californian (think TexMex but California Styled) health oriented casual restaurant chain serving a variety of plates, salads, soups, and Mexican offerings. They have unique cocktails as well as liquor! The food comes out extremely fast. Counter order and not table service, FYI. Everything here is organic, they use fibrous ingredients in everything (i.e whole wheat tortillas, brown rice, etc. Definitely come here if you’re looking to eat good food and not feel terrible afterwards. Plenty of seating indoors and outdoors! They have clean restrooms, parking, and even a hot salsa bar! 10/10 recommended trying this place out if you’re health focused and want a good meal.
Amazing place! I have been coming to this place since last 10 years. The taste & quality of food is never compromised. The service is excellent. The atmosphere is trustworthy - clean surroundings, clutter free ambience & nice music.
Recently had lunch at this expansive restaurant, which has both indoors and outdoors seating. Restaurant has a self-service format with wide range of delectable Mexican food available. Ordered the firecracker shrimp, which was really good. Ample parking is available near the restaurant.
Acqui in Cupertino remains a go-to for consistently delicious Cal-Mex. The lively, fast-casual spot is perfect for a quick and satisfying meal. Highlights from our visit: • Chicken Chili Verde: A standout dish with incredibly tender chicken in a bright, tangy tomatillo sauce. • Baja Mahi: Perfectly crispy battered fish complemented by a fresh, zesty slaw. • Asada Fries: A savory and generous portion loaded with flavorful steak—ideal for sharing. • Tomato Fennel Soup: A creamy, comforting soup elevated by a subtle hint of fennel. • Agua Swirl: The legendary frozen margarita lived up to its reputation—strong, smooth, and a must-try. • Agua Fresca: Light, refreshing, and not too sweet. Acqui consistently delivers bold flavors with fresh ingredients. Highly recommended for a reliable and tasty meal.
Really lovely and lively place. Menu has lots of options and they all sound really yummy. I tried on of the beef dishes and my spouse did the adobo. Both were fantastic! I loaded up on the billions of different salsa in little cups and I think I could have just made a meal out of those with a few Tortilla! They were all good! Fantastic place to go with a bunch of friends!
Reasonable prices and consistently good food and drinks. The Adobo Chicken Fajitas and salsa bar especially stand out. We'd prefer their chips were thinner and crispier, but that's a small issue and a personal preference.
First time dined here. Had been a bunch of ladies for a dinner party. And the items on the menu were awesome. The taste of each and every item was excellent. There was wide range of fusion dishes from different cuisines with a good number of vegetarian/vegan options. The Black bean dip and avacado dip were very tasty. The cauliflower cracker was yummylicious.
I had the special: jerked chicken. It was absolutely delicious with fresh ingredients and moist chicken. The outside eating patio is wonderful. They even provide space heaters. The food is good and a lot more healthy than what you'd find at lot of other places.
Food:healthy, organic, and delicious. Each dish is beautifully presented. Aesthetically pleasing. Price: Great deal. Reasonable. Atmosphere: Gives you a Hawaiian vacation vibe if you sit outdoors. The inside ambiance is not as nice. Cold metallic chairs are uncomfortable.
Love the food here. You order at the counter and pick up when it's ready. Eclectic fare that leans Mexican, but combines various cuisines: enchiladas, bowls, salads, stews, etc. Not cheap, but reasonable prices. Atmosphere is casual, but nicer than fast food. They have a nice patio on lovely days.
I’m blown away every time I eat at Aqui. The food, the service, the atmosphere remain high quality and unchanged even after so many years. They’re doing all the right things, and I’ll keep coming back as long as they keep the same standards!
Really amazing food. The vegetarian menu was very flavorful and the portions were large. I took mine to go, but the inside looked like a nice place to dine. It can get pretty busy around dinner time.
I recently tried Aqui and was impressed with their vegan-friendly menu. I ordered the tofu fajitas and they were excellent - perfectly seasoned with just the right amount of spice. The dish came with guac, beans, and rice, making it a complete and filling meal at a reasonable price point. The restaurant has a welcoming atmosphere with plenty of indoor seating, so it can easily accommodate groups of any size. It’s nice to find a Mexican spot in Cupertino that offers quality vegan options alongside their regular menu. They can accommodate all diets with their fresh ingredients. Would definitely come back when I’m in the area.
Everything we ordered was delicious! From the chicken taquitos to the salmon, the dip sampler, definitely will be back. This place is like a mexi-cali fusion with healthy options. Great for vegans and non vegans. I requested all sauces on the side, staff accommodated my request. Staff and service were exceptional.
Great spot for groups but you'll have to show up early to get enough seating, despite how large the restaurant is since Aqui is popular!!! And you'll quickly discover why: large variety of dishes so one could come multiple times a week without getting bored and it's relatively affordable. Portions are smaller than they were a year ago, but enough for one person. The bowls are great if you want more veggies in your meal. Pork loin plate (special of the day) shown in the photo.
Aqui in Cupertino is amazing! They have such fresh and healthy food options. We ordered the grilled chicken burrito and the Thai burrito, and everything was so, so, so good! If you're a fan of peanut sauce like we are, I recommend asking for extra because we couldn’t taste it as much as we would have liked, but that’s just a small tweak. One thing I didn’t take a picture of was the variety of unique sauces it came with. We had like 7-8 different choices of freshly made dips. They were incredible. I also got a margarita to go, and it was absolutely delicious! Highly recommend this spot for great food and drinks. We’ll definitely be back!
First time. Glad we found this hidden spot in what seems to be China town. The atmosphere was clean, friendly staff. Enchiladas and crab cake meal had soooo much flavor and came out scorching hot for a caferteria type pick up style. Like the fact I can get my healthy alternatives in. My meal included zucchini and cherry tomatoes, soft and flavorful. Brown rice was cooked perfectly. The portions were fulfilling. Couldn't finish the appetizer black bean dip (delicious). We tried half of the salsa bar sauces, all were delicious. The ghost sauce will creep up on you, oh and the drinks as well. Mai Tai and Carribean slushy premade drinks had a punch with lots of flavor. Did the job 🙌.
I recently visited this restaurant again, and it was such a fantastic experience, never disappoints! vibe is great—lively, modern, and welcoming. As always, the food was amazing, with flavors that never disappoint. But the real standout for me was their industrial-grade drink totally unforgettable! Highly recommend Aqui for anyone looking for great food, drinks, and a wonderful atmosphere.
Very fresh and organically grown vegetables and herbs. I had free range chicken with a side of delicious salad with mango and dried cranberry. Absolutely delicious. Everything on our table was a rave by each person. The only problem was that, never having been to this restaurant, we had difficulty sharing a single menu with everyone in line. We didn't get a chance to explore all of the options. Would highly recommend and will definitely return. Be sure to look at the menu on their site before you go! Great variety.
It is a good fusion mexican food place. Decent veg options with sizable serving size and very attractive plating. Loved the food and defenitely a place would love to visit again many more times.
First time lunched here. They offer wide range of fusion dishes from different cuisines with a good number of vegetarian / vegan options. Loved the outdoor sitting area. You are entering the restaurant and almost standing in line to place the order. Clients have to come go back to pick-up when the order is ready. Didn't expect that type of service. Tried Fire Cauliflower, base includes rice, black beans, tortilla strips with sauces and topped with deep fried cauliflower florets and scoop of gaucamole. It was very filling and tasty. Also it seems pretty reasonably priced. Will go back again try other ... especially the pumpkin dessert looks very attractive.
Food was cold or lukewarm, it could be pre-made because they were served quite fast, although quality was good. Seabass enchiladas was small and I can't taste seabass in it as it was mixed with other ingredients. Lemongrass mahi mahi was ok with green theme but mahi was cold, not grilled to order. It was quite a creative arrangement with a variety of veggies and fruits decorating around and the colorful sauces, making the dish fun and exciting to eat. I enjoyed the food, perhaps I was intoxicated. Accidentally ordered a swirl "guava paloma", not knowing it's an alcoholic drink, silly me and boy was it so strong that it knocked my socks off. Now I discovered paloma is tequila-based cocktail, so much for someone who doesn't drink. Burritoes were made with fresh ingredients and tasted different from other burritos we'd had in the past. Served with salad, it's healthier with wheat grain wrap and packed with right amount of fresh veggies, proteins and carbs. Reasonable price. They are highly recommended. Cozy and warm vibe. Service was friendly. A male cashier/busboy was super nice to us, his kindness was much appreciated.
I have added to my original review below. The food is really good here and that 4 star review is easily 4.5 now. Just had the Chicken and shrimp cake on mashed sweet potatoes a braised beef salad. Very very tasty. We came on a Sunday after Cinco de Mayo, and it is packed. Mrs. Even had a margarita this early! I will admit, I thought this was a fancy place based on the logo. But it was good, all organic. Id like to try more of the menu. Supposed to be known for their margaritas. Came here a second time. Ordered the artichoke tortilla lasagna and chicken ranch bowl. Still very good with good flavors. I think free chips to go with salsa bar would make it 5 star. Great options for vegetarians.
Food is good and fresh here. Its a Californian Baja style Mexican. Not authentic mexican cuisine but a fusion. With menu options like falafel tacos, thai curry tofu and lentil bowls, there is option for everyone. Lots of vegetarian options to choose from. Their salsas are pretty good too.
Place is great for groups. Love the outdoor seating. Vibe is lively. Staff are friendly and helpful. They have a lot of vegetarian options. We tried the Thai peanut tofu - 3/5, cauliflower bites side 4/5 and veggie quesadillas- 2/5 (it was burnt a little. The food felt healthy but didn’t taste as good as I expected. Priced reasonably. Will be back to try the chicken and pork options and the swirl.
I walked into this place with high hopes, and it didn't disappoint. The Thai burrito was a delightful fusion of flavors, and the mango swirl was both refreshing and potent. The outdoor seating area, complete with heaters, provided a cozy atmosphere for our meal. Ordering at the counter was efficient, and our food arrived promptly. However, the lack of table service made it feel less personal, and the indoor seating area was a bit noisy during peak hours. Despite these minor drawbacks, the quality of the food and the vibrant ambiance made it a worthwhile experience
It wasn't crowded on Friday afternoon. We have to order at the reception and select our tables. When food is ready, the pager rings and we have to go and carry our food. The food was ready within a few minutes. The portions were not too big but enough for one person. The entire food was too cold. The fried chicken was good. Enchiladas were not so great.
vibes were pretty great at this place. huge menu with lots of options for vegetarians! its lowkey giving corporate brunch/ happy hour type deal tbh. the hot sauces were good and helped make up for the mid food. i ordered the oaxcan roast pork. for the most part it was pretty bland, but adding a little salt helped. HOWEVER, the drinks here are very good. almost cover for the bland food. they are strong and sweet. highly recommend.
I have mix feelings about this restaurant. It was our first. Ordering was simple. Everything was ala carte. You pay at the counter and they give you a beeper when your food is ready. We had to pickup our food when it became available so there are no servers really. Food presented well and tasted good. Pico salsa was tasty but chips weren't exactly my favorite. Seemed like a popular place visited by locals. It's an upscale taqueria located at nice area, easily accessible, with adequate parking. Maybe worth a second visit.
The tortilla soup is not described as spicy anywhere, but it was so spicy it was burning my lips . it was so uncomfortable. Both of us were miserable eating it.
Food sadly just tastes almost like pre-made microwaved food. People were nice and polite, attentive, etc. The physical space is clean and tidy, the food is just a bit of a letdown in terms of taste.
I do not recommend this place. The food tastes bad. Cold, same ingredients for different orders, maybe it was the exact same sauce that ruined the dish so much. I was hoping it was supposed to taste good, it looked like it at first, but after the first try I couldn’t eat it because it didn’t taste good. I’m disappointed.
Place has good reviews but food just tastes bad, my tacos had BBQ sauce and other miscellaneous sauces. Chips and salsa is just pico de gallo. I asked for a margarita and got a sangria margarita mixer. I caught it but margarita isn’t really on the menu on the rocks. Not sure what the appeal is 10/10 don’t recommend if looking for Mexican food.
