This location has the same or similar menu with the one in Mountain View. However, it seems that they may use the same recipes but some differences in way of cooking. We like them both ways. We started with a garlic green salad, and it's such a tasty salad! The dressing is so flavorful and the crispy garlic chip gives such a good kick to it. We ordered a today special of toro sashimi and it just melted in your mouth. We also had a pan saute black cod and that is also amazing! For the dessert, both lava cake and the green tea creme brule were worth the calories.

My partner and I were really missing Japan, so we chose to eat at gochi for dinner. This restaurant is one of the most “Japan” vibes place I know, so excitedly we arrived. Even at 7:00 on a Wednesday night the whole restaurant was filled so I am glad we had a reservation. We ended up getting Salmon Aburi, Mentai Kinoko Pizza and Unagi Meshi. All of these items were delicious and definitely more than enough for the two of us. Service was a bit slow, but it was a pretty chaotic night and the food was delicious.

Charming restaurant in Cupertino, serving classic Japanese tapas, as well as some innovative new-world Californian cuisine. The sashimi quality was excellent, and the grilled meat items were perfectly seasoned. Interior is nicely decorated and there are a couple of private rooms with tatami mats. Friendly and efficient service. Medium-sized free parking lot.

My friend and i I had a great experience at Gochi. Everything was perfect- good and ambiance! Everything we ordered was so tasty! I can't wait to come back. I also would like to mention our server Taichi - he was very attentive, caring, brought food and drinks right away, and took really good care of us!!! Thank you!!

A delightful Japanese fusion tapas spot that truly exceeded my expectations. The food was excellent, with fresh, high-quality ingredients and thoughtful preparation. We tried the sashimi salad, hamachi (yellowtail) carpaccio, and salmon clay pot rice. While all were fantastic, the hamachi carpaccio was particularly delicate, flavorful, and beautifully balanced. The service was also very good, attentive without being intrusive, which made the experience even more enjoyable. We’ll definitely be back to explore more of the menu!

Came here for a celebratory meal and it did not disappoint. We got the shimeji tempura, agedashidōfu, gyutan shioyaki, mentaiko pizza, yaki onigiri chazuke, and persimmon ice cream. My favorites were the gyutan and pizza. The chazuke was a great way to end the savory part of the meal. The restaurant does a great job of taking traditional Japanese izakaya food and fusing it with other cuisines like Italian and Spanish foods. I would definitely come back for another occasion meal!

The food was delicious. The dishes build on familiar bases (pizza dough, rice, noodles) and with the Japanese flavors, still manages to be a unique culinary experience. I really enjoyed the baked oysters. No one else in my party really liked them so I ate three myself. I don't normally eat oysters (as I don't like raw oysters). What an experience! This was my husband and I’s first time here and didn’t know too much what to expect. The standout plates for us were the braised ribs and pizzas! We ordered 5 dishes, 1 dessert and a sake. We came in on a Saturday for dinner with no reservation. We initially were told we were going to be seated at the bar but ended up getting a regular table, which was great. It was pretty busy so we’ll do a reservation next time. Most of the seating is traditional where you take your shoes off. There were also a few private rooms. Staff was attentive and made great recommendations. The manager(possibly) came to check on us a few times, she was really sweet! Sure this place is a little pricey but you also get a fun experience. Would be a great place for celebrations and groups of friends. We can’t wait to come back and try more plates!

One of the popular Japanese fusion restaurant. I think it is a tapas place, because of the size of the dishes :) Almost all the dishes we tried are great. Name some below: Assorted Sashimi: about 8 different fishes, 2 piece of each fish. All of them are fresh and delicious 😋 Clay pot rice: must try. Just stick with the small pot, I think it is enough for 4 people 🍲 Fresh oysters: this is seasonal, ask the staff Make sure to make a reservation in advance. The front door is kind of low profile, easy to miss.

An elevated dining experience with thoughtful execution throughout. The pizza was a standout—perfectly balanced with exceptional texture and flavor. We also ordered the oysters, hamachi, unagi claypot rice, and beef tenderloin, all of which were beautifully prepared and deeply satisfying. The only miss was the broiled amberjack, which lacked the same refined taste and quality as the other dishes. Service was polished and attentive without being intrusive, and the hot sake complemented the meal wonderfully. While it leans toward the expensive side, the ingredient quality and overall experience justify the price. A strong choice for a night out.

Everything is good but pricey. We ordered salt water eel, healthier but hard to be compared with other restaurants.

This place is always crowded, especially during the weekend. We came early during the week night and there was no wait! Service is great. They have plenty of waiters/waitresses working. Once we ordered, the food came out fast. Out of all the dishes we ordered, the Hamachi Carpaccio, Asari Sakamushi, Yaki Onigiri, Unagi Pizza and the Grilled Duck Breasts dishes are delicious and stand out. The fried oysters is so-so since the crust is too thick and not light enough. The sea bass special isn't as good as other places as they pan-fried the outside first rather than directly grilling it. The coating is so much that we couldn't taste the fish. IMHO, Tanto's fried oysters and fish (black cod) dishes are better. They have an extensive menu and will come back to try other dishes.

We had lunch in here, their lunch special menu price is okay, three of us all order different chirashi, sashimi rice bowl, I feel surprised the number of Sashimi is too little inside the bowl, however, the quality of sashimi are fine. Waiter is nice. Service is good.

The food is great and comes out fast! The seating is mostly floor seating with leg space and no back support so that could be uncomfortable for some people. Our service was okay - I felt like they were annoyed at my group (of mostly older seniors) and so we're taking a long time to get to us. Sorry! The good food was the black miso cod, the salmon claypot (medium is not that big...), The miso pizza was awesome, and the beef tongue and hamachi carpaccio were good. The pork belly was great but the pork ribs were okay. Overall yum! Might not come here for a while since the hostess annoyed me (yes I acknowledge my group was mostly grumpy old people....)

Visited this popular Japanese restaurant on a friend’s recommendation. The interior settings have an authentic Japanese feel with guests sitting on the floor and being served on low height tables. For food, we ordered items from appetizers all the way to desserts and the taste of some of the dishes are indeed top notch. Big kudos to the dry fish and cod roe clay pot although the price for a clay pot dish is a bit on the high side. My next best recommendations are the dessert items in which the sweet potato ice cream dessert is my new favorite. In general, the cost of the main dinner items are a bit pricey for me but as mentioned, it is a popular restaurant for people of all age groups.

It's good, but a bit pricey for the quality of food you get. Lots of Japanese tapas and salad/sashimis are pretty good. Very fun environment, especially for dinner. You can sit on the regular tables or try the tatami mats. We spent about $400-500 for 5 of us, including a large bottle of Sake.

Do NOT order any sashimi, size is so tiny but costs a lot. Okonomiyaki style Gochi pizza, Gyutan and chazuke are worth trying. Dessert (sweet potato custard) is definitely a plus and I would highly recommend.

One of the dishes was really good, but the others were just average. Overall, it was okay, but not something I’d rush back for.

I don't know why this place is so popular. The food tastes average but looks above average. The prices are very expensive. Best to make a reservation. Otherwise, you will get a seat with limited seating time

Honestly, this place has really good atmosphere and ambiance which is perfect for a dinner date. They have both regular seating area and the Japanese style with tatami floor dining area. However, that’s pretty much it.. Food wise - presentation was 4 out of 5 and taste was pretty mediocre in my opinion (3/5). They also never pick up their phone, so you need to do reservations vis Yelp. Once you’re there, a couple servers will keep reminding you about your time limit (for us it was 1.5 hr, which wasn’t too bad for my party).
