I went a while ago, but the chicken was really good. they even offered extra seasoning in a cup. The lady in the window was friendly (it was late on a Saturday night). Fries were hot and crispy and the price was cool. I would definitely go again when I'm in the neighborhood

Food was great. The hottest wings are no joke, those will test anyone even with the the highest level of tolerances for spicy food. Flavor could be better, more of just hot then Flavorful. But that aside all the other foods we tried tasted great and cooked well. Definitely a great place for some chicken!!

I haven't tried the chicken. It's hard to find good chicken livers, so ordered that everytime I went. It was SO good. The lady who always took my order was sweet and wasn't long before she new what I came for each time. It's a good deal for the price. I really like them pickled carrots and peppers they add. The food was always hot.

So once again this place is a local race and everybody love them. It is located in the "hood" but ive never had an issue day or night. Staff as always been extremely friendly... lines can be long.. So listen I don't care for the chicken... but chicken and waffle together was good it was my first time. The catfish or catfish nuggets a bit high but I love them very good. Worth the trip YES.. I am a regular but they keep missing my pepper and still charging me .75 cents.

The chicken is always fresh and hot when those brown bags are placed in your hands! You probably can't drive a mile without peeking in the bag for a fry or a taste of the golden fried chicken!!! The aroma makes you want to pull over and eat what you ordered before you can make it home. 😉 The area is a little sketchy, but you'll be fine. GO! Thank me later!

First time trying out Big Mama's Chicken and Waffles and I must say it hit the Spot. The seasoning was perfect definitely enjoyed my lunch.

Catfish was nicely seasoned for the breading and I loved the seasoning on the fries too. Pork chop was decent but could've been more tender and wish it was seasoned as a meat piece but the breading was well seasoned. 8/10 per my standards I didnt even want ketchup or tartar sauce its great as it is.

Was craving chicken and waffles and decided to try this place out. Although the line of cars was around the building they cleared it quick and took my order in no time at all. Ordered 2 tenders, a waffle, and fries plus it came with a good piece of toast all for under $10. The chicken was perfectly seasoned and the waffle was delicious. Can’t recommend this place enough!!

This place is okay, I think it is overhyped in the streets a bit. The fries were all limp and not fresh. But the pepper and carrots are a nice touch and the bread is pretty good too not cheap wonder bread like you get sometimes at other places. Prices are pretty reasonable.

I'm very disappointed. I pulled up and ordered 2 3 piece wings with fries 1 with no pepper, 4 wings with fries, and extra fries. We order our food at 330pm. We were told to pull and park it would be about 15 minutes. We sat and sat and sat and nothing. After seeing at least 2 people get their food and leave, who ordered after me. Others pulled up and parked, too, waiting on their order. After waiting 15 minutes, I walked up to the window and still no food. The lady who took our order, she was very friendly and nice, asked me what I ordered and I told her. I stood and waited and waited and waited. Two cars got their orders before us, and looking at their bags, their order was bigger. 10 to 15 minutes, the same lady came back and asked me again what I ordered. I told her again and showed my receipt. 2 people walked up and placed their order, and I am still waiting. 30 minutes go by, and we still don't have our order. Another 5 minutes and finally our order came out. When I looked in the bag, it wasn't what I ordered. 2 3 piece wings with fries, 4 wings with fries, and extra fries. I got food I didn't order and more. Truly disappointed. It will be a while before we go back there. Unbelievable! Update. I learned you can order online and have no problems with waiting.

Ordered a 3 piece catfish and two piece wing. They charged me for a two piece catfish, I wasn’t worried about it. However, the fish was AMAZING! I really wish I would’ve gotten the third piece. Wings were OK. Ordered a side of peppers and they were the perfect addition. I had to wait for my order but all of the food was hot, so it was worth it!

I love the chicken. Next time, I'll pay for extra seasoning because it seemed like it wasn't enough. I've been eating here for years, even through the name change. I'm glad it's still up and running. I ordered 2 wings, fries, and extra pickles – can't resist those! 😄

I had a serious craving for chicken livers (because I'm definitely a country girl), so I stopped by while on this side of town. I miss living close to Big Mama's, but it's better that I don't. They'd see my face weekly! The delicious offerings are plentiful (MUCH more than chicken and waffles); you can read the whole menu before driving up (there are 2 drive-thrus), or walk up to the front window. Be prepared to wait, because your food is cooked when you order. (Trust me, you'll be pleased...) Add the jalapeno pepper and pickles to your meal! 😋

All glory be to God! The customer service is top tier! They treated me like royalty and everything that I ordered was made fresh, hot, crispy and tasty! I actually liked the catfish more than the friend chicken, but that’s just my personal preference. Definitely worth the wait! For the overall experience, I rate it 9.5 out of 10. 💐🤍

We made the drive( hour and 10 min)because we saw that big dawgtv posted that they serve the best fried chicken. I had the dark. My husband had the white meat lol!!! Mine was the best. It was very crispy very fresh. Only note to self: for the next trip, tell them easy on the seasoning. But it was finger licken good. Other than that it was just as big dawgtv said said-crispy, juicy!

I’ve tried this place a few times with different foods. So far the food is mediocre and so are the prices. It’s not the worst that I’ve had. The chicken is crispy but seasoned after fried. The gizzards were extra hard, and the fish has that murky flavor. I just stick to the wings.

I love coming here, the food is excellent, but I was disappointed because I ordered 2 chicken baskets, they only had legs and wings. We got 2 of the 3 leg basket(a total of $10 and some change). I thought the food felt light , we receive the smallest drumsticks on this earth , both baskets of 3 drumsticks were the smallest, tiniest pieces of chicken I have ever seen. I love coming here but I would have love to receive some regular size chicken 😔

1st experience at big mamas and ordered gizzards and chicken wing combo with a side of okra.. Everything seasoned pretty much perfectly, but ordered an 8 pc gizzards and only found 6 when I got home, and the gizzards were either cooked too long or just wasn't fresh. Most importantly Customer service was good so I'll probably try again sometime 👌🏾

I would like to say that Mama's chicken is delicious when it is fresh. and the past few times I would say that it is generally fresh. the food is generally well seasoned; the chicken breast is juice especially when it is FRESH. the French fries are decent but it's typical fries. the feedback that i would say is that this family come up with system that could decrease the wait time by 3 min. I'll be coming back because the food. I want to see this business do better.

Now listen I love the chicken and orka real bad. But today was one of the worst trips. Went and got a family order of chicken and tenders basket. That 4 piece tenders basket was 9.50 and I promise it's like a kids meal. My son don't eat chicken with bones and he is going be pissed when he see how small them tenders are. The family meal fries was so NOT FAMILY and I did not get my bread for my family meal. Yea very disappointed in today's trip. Plus the wait in the line was 15 minutes before I got to order then another 20 waiting on my order.

This was our first time visiting here. We've heard good & bad reviews for years from family members. So we followed their advise & stated out with patients. The entire order took 25 min. The fish was really good, but the chicken was average at best. They cook thre chicken, but use thre seasoning heavy afterwards. I'd suggest you ask for light seasoning. The fries were cold & old. The service was polite. We're enjoyed it, but it's only s place to come if you're on that part of town!

First time trying this, and I ordered a 4 wing basket w pickles and peppers, 2 breast basket, two tender basket, and two lemonades for $28.00. Now I'm all for supporting black owned businesses, but this is just constructive criticism. First, let's start with the wait, about 20-25mins now the food was hot. Second, the fries were hot and soggy, just ridiculous. Third, every piece of chicken ordered was just as bland. Now, to each it's own, but I've never been to a black own business with unseasoned food. Let's stop the hype there. The chicken is just fried and the fries have some type of seasoning on them but the pickles and peppers give it some flavor but not enough it just was a waste of $28.00 because it went to the trash and a waste of time all together. I've tried it, and it's a no for me! Two stars because the lemonade is good and the guy at the window has a good sense of humor.

Food is good however I’ve been here since 8:50pm it’s 9:44pm (still no food) I had 1 basket. Was given a koolaid for the the inconvenience. I don’t drink koolaid. The manager asked me why didn’t I let them know they forgot about me :/ Oh and initially they brought the wrong food out….oh was promised pickles and peppers guess what no pickles nor peppers!! Took about an hour and ten minutes to receive food….:((

Seasoned well but having to wait 30 min for four dark pieces that came out completely cold it made no sense. The lady at the window over charged me and I let her know the prices on menu was different than what she was saying. I paid $10 for a 4 piece dark chicken only thighs and more for the shrimp like they went up. She comes off very rude at the window at times the lack of customer service does not make it better and she is too old to be that way. I love almost 20 minutes away or I would have took it back.

This wasn't as good as expected it looks like a whole in the wall restaurant so I thought the food would be amazing lol...but, the chicken was definitely dry and lacked flavor, you could tell there was maybe this kind of rub or glaze on the chicken but it wasn't a consistent covering. The meal comes with fries and the fries are quite soggy and tasteless and well. Now the star of the show was the fried okra it was fried to perfection and delicious. It wasn't a bad wait time and they had good customer service.

Disappointing. I was told at the window they were out of dark meat and it works be 15 minute wait. That’s fine, based on other reviews, I expected to wait. That’s not the disappointment. I paid for the white meat and wasn’t offered a different rate which I’m accustomed to at other chicken locations when they are out of dark (I pay the dark price). Ok who cares, I’m there’s inflation. I asked for extra seasoning thinking it would be .99 as displayed. Nope. My receipt said $1.50. For the toddler size 😮 yep I got git. Still not upset the foods got to be good. Nope again. Breast and wings were dry and not seasoned. Fries were old. Seasoning was good though. Used my 30 minutes of waiting to study. 🤷🏽‍♀️

I don’t know if I went at the wrong time or what, but I was highly disappointed with this food considering how much hype it gets! I got a full order with four chicken tenders. Everything was dry and the chicken didn’t have much seasoning. The fries and the bread were good but honestly kinda average. They don’t tell you how long the wait is. Waited 40 min. FORTY min, and the fries were soggy, and thick, just not good. I had wings, and the chicken was cooked really good, but it honestly taste like they just season on top of the already cooked food with just some seasoning salt. With out that, it would be bland. It’s also very disorganized here. If you have an hour to kill, and like soggy fries, this is your place.

I give 5 stars to morning shift... there is absolutely a difference... never will I ever come in the evening again... fries, cold, chicken, terrible, okra, terrible... very much a difference between morning and evening... I’ve been here twice. The second time was 12/02/2025. Got two 3 piece regular with two waffles and two drinks. It was $35. Very expensive. They charge extra for peppers and pickles. The chicken was soggy and the fries were not crispy. The waffles were good and the drinks were too. I wouldn’t come back for the chicken tho. Guy at the window kept slamming the window closed while I was still talking.

The first time I came, everything was perfect. Food and customer service was amazing. I drove a long way to go back and there was a lady at the window, customer service not that great and they didn’t get my order right, fries were cold. I don’t mind overpaying for quality but this was terrible. I won’t be going out of my way again. Consistency means a lot when you’re spending money.

I had heard good things about Big Mama's chicken, so we thought we would give it a try. We ordered 2-10 piece Family meals which consisted of legs and thighs, french fries, sliced bread, pickles and jalapenos. We also ordered 8 piece chicken livers and a side of okra. The chicken was not good. I could forgive the small pieces, but the chicken itself was severely over salted and tasted like it had been fried in old oil, leaving an almost burnt flavor. The french fries and okra also had this same old oil flavor, unfortunately. The chicken livers were rubbery and very bitter...I only ate one liver due to the odd taste I became concerned that liver was spoiled. Out of the four of us we each only ate one piece of chicken. I threw out the 16 remaining pieces of chicken, fries, okra as well as the remaining 7 livers. I do not believe in wasting food but no choice when it is inedible. Would not recommend ☹️

Not so nice this time, poor customer service. To the owner: We ordered this evening and the lady who's your cashier was not very nice as usual, although she seems like shes faking to be nice. Before we could even get up to the window to pick up our food she sends a girl out with our meals without ketchup and without a bag. One of the meals had extra small pieces as though it was purposely done. She just sent us on our way without making sure if everything was fine. We were never treated so cold. You have good food, but her attitude was nasty this time.

This place, once had some good chicken.... My last visit, was the last. Chicken taste like and looked as though it had been cooked the night before. The fries, seems like they were put in the microwave. They also had wheat bread, instead of the white, which they normally have. Order two pork chops and fries with two pieces of bread. Got home to see that my pork chop was overly seasoned and I only had one piece of bread. Call the restaurant back and the manager told me they over season their food because their customer like it that way. Never ago will I eat this mess!

Fed it to my dog! Old chicken! It was so greasy and a deep dark brown color like they cooked it the day before and then just dropped it in grease again the next day. The fries were so old and mushy that they almost turned to mashed potatoes when you touch them. I hate to leave a bad review for a black owned business but I’m pissed about all the money I wasted. Very disappointed with my first experience. I drove 45 minutes to try this place. I’m pretty sure I was overcharged. They charged for pickles and a pepper without telling you, the pickles are thrown on the meat, making it very soggy. Flavor? The chicken is fried crispy but has NO seasoning. Fries are wilted and wet, they don’t put the food in containers to maintain warmth. The catfish was fair. The only items I enjoyed was the potato salad and the kool aid. I waited more than 30 minutes for my food and they literally forgot to give me the biggest part of my order.They forgot I was sitting in my car parked where they told me to wait, sad. If I had gotten home before checking my bag, there would have been a problem. Watching an employee stand outside for a smoke break, comes back in and proceeded to work without washing their hands was the straw that broke the camel’s back. I won’t visit this place again. They were friendly and apologetic but lack in making the experience worthwhile enough to come back. Good luck. I don’t recommend.

The girl at the window was extremely ghetto and unprofessional the was not fresh at all and to top it off they have you go wait by a funky dumpster while you wait for your old food to reheated. SMH when I first came to Dallas my food from here was excellent now its like junkies run the place.

I would like to post about something that happened on 05/19/24 I came threw the Drive threw and ordered a 2 piece fish basket lady gave me the total and I gave her a $10 bill that was brand new and not tape on it or nothing and a 5.00 bill this lady gives back a counterfeit 10 bill and said this is the 10 I gave her . Which was a lie because I had just made a ATM withdrawal from the machine before I went there to place a order and ATM machines don’t give counterfeit $10 bills. So everyone if you go to this place take a picture of your money before paying these people because they are not honest people working in that place I guess she pocket the real $10 bill I gave her every body is not honest that works in that drive threw because that was shady what that young lady did

They wouldn’t serve me , window was open when I pulled up. I greeted them, they didn’t greet me back and closed the window, I waited 5 minutes and no 1 took my order so I left, I can’t give a review on the food but the service was shity, I will never go there’s again

This place use to be it however, I went today and the fries were trash! They charge .75 cent for a pepper and 3 or 4 shriveled up pickles. Where is the seasoning that use to make the chicken pop, cause I didnt taste any. I'm so disappointed with the inconsistencies and don't take kindly to spending $20 for a 6 PC wing and a kool-aid. I wanted to take it back but just decided to longer patronize the business going forward.

Big Mamas needs people that actually cook like big mama to save the name. Soft fried fish after standing for 20 minutes is unacceptable especially when everything sold there is deep fried. I’d have respected if the guy at the window just gave me the raw meat for me to fry correctly if they’re gonna be there and not know how to work a deep fryer. Name should be changed to “Fries Only.”

I ordered 2 thighs and 2 legs, fries and a waffle for $16. I trusted them and went home. I opened my bag and, voila, 4 measly chicken wings. Cold fries and a waffle. The wings tasted terrible. No meat on them. When I called about the mistake, nothing was done. No one working there could nor did help. Do yourself a favor. Take left at Forest Lane, go 1.5 miles to Churches Chicken. They are tastier and cheaper than Big Momma's chicken. And they get the order right.

I eat here often but it has changed sooo much and not worth it I paid 10 dollars for 2 pieces of chicken and a drink ! The lady then proceeds to tell me I gotta pay for pickles and peppers when they’ve ALWAYS came with chicken .. then they FORGOT the pickles and peppers after making me pay extra . They was rude it’s nothing like it used to be save your money and time I drove 30 minutes just to come get some and it’s a waste of time gas and money

I have been eating big mamas for years and when you order through different apps, you would think that the food will be fresh for pick up, but unfortunately, the last few times that I have ordered through the app the food has not been fresh and hot. Big Mama’s is going downhill when it comes to their chicken being hot and fresh food!! It’s a sad case when you’re hungry and ready to dig in🤬
