Good fried chicken that’s tender, juicy with a flavorful crunchy exterior. I got the green beans with bacon and mashed potatoes with gravy, all delicious. Dining room was clean and so was restroom. Outside seating options available. Inside does smell like a deep fryer so don’t wear that dry clean only outfit. Staff were friendly and accommodating.

Wasn't sure what to expect when we got there. The drive thru was several blocks long and a long line to order inside. Their phone was ringing nonstop. The food was so good. The Staff was so friendly. It was clean inside. When Braylen R found out we were traveling and it was our 1st time there, he gave us a free Banana Pudding. So very kind. I highly recommend this establishment

We had the chicken and fish, along with coleslaw and the cabbage. Everything was flavored so wonderfully, and oh my the rolls!! Thank you to the friendly staff, and the manager. She greeted us as we walked in, just like she knew us, and checked on us several time to make sure we were happy. She was a delight, and we'll definitely be going back.

Stepped in for a quick breakfast and dining room was filled with a birthday party. Not only does Bubbas serve some of the best food but the staff was extremely accommodating! Quick to find us a spot to sit and eat even with a full dining room. I have visited before and will keep coming for the food and great service! Bubba’s is the best chicken I’ve had in Dallas outside of homemade. The seasoning and crust are to die for. They have honey on the table which elevated the chicken. Near SMU campus Got 2 drumsticks and a breast which is a kings order. Sweet potatoes were the best thing i got 💯 Sweet tea was herby and not too sweet 👌🏽 I had one yeast roll and 1 cornbread, my opinion stick with the roll. Roll compliments everything the sides, your chicken with honey, by itself. Lemon pepper is such a iconic pairing with chicken and they have a really flavorful blend. In my opinion Hunts ketchup is really salty. I use whataburger ketchup at home from central market. The manager walked me through the experience outstanding woman by the name of Deborah. So so kind. The chicken and dumplings were basically poutine. Fried okra is crunchy and tasty. The apricot fried pie is basically a toaster strudel but not prepackaged a worthy finishing treat. Will be back.

The parking lot is smalll and challenging, and Bubba's is popular so it tends to be busy. Not being a fan of crowds, I regretfully admit I let the crowds and parking chase me away twice before I made it through the door to try Bubba's. My loss!!! Once I got through the door our visit was fantastic. Starting with Jonathon the young man who patiently and professionally walked us through the menu and the array of choices. The location was clean and cheery. The chicken was tremendous, crispy, mildly seasoned chicken that was moist and delicious. The yeast roll was big and fluffy, while the cornbread went perfect with the meal. The mashed potatoes and gravy were good, but the baked beans were perfection. I'll definitely be back and highly recommend Bubba's to anyone looking for great fried chicken.

A bit of a hassle, but the food and service was well worth the trouble. I ordered a 2 piece fried chicken with beans and ambrosia. The yeast role was fantastic, the chicken was just right, the beans were tasty, and the ambrosia was as good as Mom's Sunday Meals. Bubba’s packs a one-two punch delivering the knock out blow to your craving for comfort food. First, the fried chicken is crispy, tender, and juicy (add hot sauce and/or honey to go next level). Second, the sides are excellent. From the mashed potatoes and gravy, to the fried okra and corn bread or roll, you can’t miss. The service is friendly and they keep the dining room clean. Bubba’s has been there a long time so it feels like it needs a refresh and the restrooms need a complete overhaul.

This place is one of my favorites because it is consistently good! My favorite is the fried fish and mashed potatoes. It can be a bit pricey but I don’t mind it because I know my food will be hot, fresh and delicious!

A retro Art Deco space with Southern comfort food standards. Great fried chicken and mud cat here. Sides are good and rolls doughy and sweet like mamma used to make. Strap the feed bag on here y’all.

After my visit to The George W. Bush Presidential Library, we decided to try some local cuisine. It is Southern style comfort food. I 3 pieces of chicken 2 thighs and 1 leg with mashed potatoes and coleslaw. I couldn't eat the other green vegetables because they were cooked with pork. The rolls ans mashed potatoes were OUTSTANDING! I wouldn't get the coleslaw again. The service was excellent.

This is likely one of the best dinning experiences I have ever . The food was great and made other chicken places taste like fast food. We got the chicken fried steak and it came with two steaks and green beans and mashed potatoes and two roles. It was more than enough food and it was SO good and came out in maybe 5 minutes or so, but none of that is even the best part. The service was the BEST I have ever seen much less experienced. I Came in after a Dr Appt with my elderly mother. I was walking her in and they met us at the door. They politely took her arm and walked her in and explained how they work and that we can just sit and they would take care of everything. We sat and they went over the menu and just chit chatted a bit (im sure if you arent in to that kind of thing they would also accommodate). All of this and the bill was under $50. You cant even get chicken E for that!! I could go on and on about how great they were in every way but check them out for yourselves. The ONLY bad thing was its not too easy to find a parking spot close (I was with my elderly mother).

Selected this location for "great fried chicken" before a show at Fair Park and we were not disappointed. I preferred the white meat chicken breast because of the excellent crispy crust on their large breast pieces. For me it was definitely worth the upcharge. Sides: mashed potatoes and gravy - awesome; tomatoes and okra - awesome; green beans - good; Cole slaw - good. Arrived Sunday, 5:10 PM and it took 20 minutes to order. You wait in line and then it only takes a minute to get your order. The drive through line looked pretty busy too. We'll certainly come back when we are in this part of Dallas and hungry for some great fried chicken!

Best fried chicken in Dallas, mashed potatoes n gravy were really good, yeast rolls were amazing and tasted like the homemade rolls they are! Baked beans were like a family cookout, hubs ate all his blackened peas too! Banana pudding is legit homemade on the stove with beautiful meringue. Apricot fried pie was sweet with a little tartness n the filling, fried flaky with a lovely vanilla glaze. We are so full and will be back so soon!!!

This might be the best service I have ever had at a counter service restaurant. The staff were incredibly kind, courteous, friendly, efficient and professional. The food was very good- simple and well executed in perfect portion sizes. I had the catfish and would absolutely recommend it. I can't say enough about how great the staff were- so welcoming. My only complaint is that there is no place to add a tip when paying with a card, because they certainly deserve it!

Bubba’s is an absolute gem in University Park. Their consistency is unmatched—the fried chicken is always perfectly crispy, and the mashed potatoes with gravy are outstanding (just two of my faves ). Everything from the food to the service was just the best. Arguably the best chicken tenders in Dallas. The mashed potatoes reminded me of my mom’s which is priceless to me. My sister frequents this restaurant every month when she visits Dallas and raves about the down home flavors. I had a chance to visit with her and had an overall pleasant experience. My only critique is that although the chicken fried steak, fried chicken and catfish were fried to perfection, they were significantly over salted on this particular day. The sides were tasty and delicious and the service was excellent! Our order was served hot, with professionalism, courtesy and a warm smile! I look forward to visiting the next time I'm in Dallas!

The chicken is salty and moist with a fresh fried crispy skin. This place is a must do for anyone new in the area, because Texas isn't only known for BBQ- we've got the best fried chicken and Bubba's is the place to get it. I recommend against getting a breast only because it's huge. Get drumsticks thighs and wings and you'll be more than satisfied. Oh, and do NOT forget to get an extra side of gravy.

Aug 10, 2025 Our first time here we drove from rockwall TX for date night. My husband read about this place somewhere. The chicken was delicious moist not dry great job! Mash potatoes without gravy was really tasty. I’m not a fan of white gravy but it taste good I still prefer brown gravy. The biscuit was soft, buttery and sweet but aliitle too moist/wet. The cornbread and cherry cobbler were horrible, avoid. The service was excellent! Atmosphere underwhelming. Might I return, possibly but only for the chicken.

She hovers around the tables like a vulture and will take your trays without asking if she assumes you’re done eating. She also makes snarky remarks sometimes. The breakfast here is just “okay”. The sausage patties were severely overcooked. They tasted like they were cooked a couple of days before and reheated. The biscuits are just biscuits…nothing special. The bacon is a better option than the sausage (I only got to taste it because they gave me bacon when I ordered sausage). I asked for the sausage I ordered, but shouldn’t have. I ordered over medium eggs. They were done right. The sausage gravy tasted like it was prepackaged and simply heated up. The breakfast potatoes were the best part of the meal. I’ve had the chicken here before and it doesn’t disappoint and the service is always good.

I have been going to Bubba‘s for years the past year. It’s been so inconsistent mostly with the service in the drive-through. I consistently go home without something it’s gravy whether it’s a salad it’s ambrosia whether it’s coleslaw they’re always missing something. They’re not checking their orders before they hand them off to the customer. The food is always been so consistent and it’s been a blessing to have them in Snyder Plaza, but this is an ongoing problem that needs to be addressed. It’s all about customer service and paying attention and then calling and being put on hold and then not picking up, just doesn’t set a good presidents for a business that’s been there for forever and everybody does enjoy it, but they each pay attention.thank you

A petite fast-casual country restaurant serving up big mouth-watering biscuits and other fixings. There’s a lunch menu also but we only went there for the breakfast. A little odd for the washroom to be located outside of the main dining area, and doesn’t have a door knob to get out. I find it disappointing because of the neighborhood that is in. Ordered 3pc dinner. Green beans, mashed potatoes, rolls All were excellent!!!! I'm a Chicken lover! However this was not very good chicken. My drumstick was OK, larger piece than the thign. Wing, ok but that thigh was dark underneath the crust. Looked molded. Banana Pudding was on. Will probably not go back. I'll go to the Real Bubba's Chicken.

Good simple home-cooked options. You order upon entrance, tried country fried steak and chicken tenders with our party of 3. Breading had a nice crisp to it, yet not really seasoned. The country fried steaks were a bit on the smaller side. Ordered following sides: fried okra, kernel corn, greenbeans, mashed potatoes and french fries. Would recommend the mashed potatoes and okra as they had a nice fresh flavor. May consider going back if in area for breakfast items.

My family and I decided to try Bubba’s tonight and it was a total let down. My husband got the chicken fried steak and mash potatoes and green beans. . The streak had nothing but batter the sides are canned no flavor and potatoes are instant. I had the chicken strips they were ok and my son had the same with sweet potatoes and green beans big let down. I will not be returning. Left my plate there didn’t even take pics

I grew up getting fantastic chicken and sides from here. Haven’t had it in a couple of years and got some while I’m in town. Was really disappointed. The chicken strips were underseasoned. The mashed potatoes taste like “tater flakes”, and don’t have that decadent creamy taste and texture, the green beans no longer have bacon, it’s just canned green beans with some pepper and butter, and the banana pudding was not nearly as flavorful as it used to be. Definitely not worth what they charge anymore. Should’ve just gone to a chain place. I would’ve saved at least $25 and gotten similar quality of food. So very sad.

Bubba’s is not the same as it used to be. The last few times I’ve been there over the last few years have not been good. My chicken fried steak today was wayyyyyyyyyyyyyy too salty. This was strike three for me. I have two stars as a nod to their glory days. I really wanted the food to be right today and drove thirty minutes for what used to be one of the best spots for chicken fried steak in Dallas. 😩 It was a good run y’all! ♥️

I’m in utter disbelief, the reviews I got about the chicken fried steak was great. Yet I got a really tough chewy one;( I even traveled further just to have this meal.

I think the thing which disappointed me more than the counter lady who took my order who struggles with English and had no warmth or personality; the plain grits. I cant think of something worse with a restaurant that serves their patrons plain grits. Theres no love in thst, it just shows no appreciation or care toward a person as a guest. I enjoyed the pancakes in spite of not having sugar free syrup available. I wanted to like the food better but it seems there's nothing put into it, no special touches that would set this place apart from anywhere else.

Please do yourself a favor and bypass this place. Don't be fooled by the pictures and your hunger. Also, don't be deluded by the line outside of the door. This Ain't What You Want. Now if you're into BLAND‼️You're Golden and this is where you should be. If you want flavor and wonderful customer service keep going. Believe me when I tell you. One good thing is the grits were hot...FLAVORLESS and tasted like the water they boiled them in...nonetheless Hot. That's all. Needless to say, I won't be returning. Fool me ONCE‼️

Waiter was nicer to the white guy leaving the restaurant. Poor customer service no smiles and very un personable. I noticed the cashier adding more strips to my call in order which appeared to have already been ready. Food was ready for me upon arrival but I was not ready for what was inside. I ordered chicken tenders and French fries which I thought was pretty easy. Who could mess that up? Bubbas that’s who. The chicken tenders were terribly overcooked and they tasted as if they had been sitting under a heat lamp for hours. I work in the Hilltop Plaza shopping center and the line for Bubbas is always wrapped around the building so I wanted to see what all the hype was about. Turns out the food was terrible, like warm, and not fresh. Totally over-hyped. The food here is not cheap so I expected to get my money’s worth. It was a waste of money and time and a very unpleasant experience. I will not be eating here again nor encouraging anyone else to do so. Next time, I’ll take my chances and my 20 bucks somewhere else.

This was my first visit. Dining in was nice. However, we experienced rude service on returning our to go order. To discover 40 minutes later, the #3 order had a roll and two sides left off the order, I was dumbfounded. The short Hispanic manager who said he did not have a name was so rude. His offer was to give our group two sides and get our group member out. Looks like my first visit will be my last.

The staff is more interested in gossiping about customers rather than completing orders and are so loud you can actually hear them even in the drive-thru. On my last trip, the order taker wrote down the wrong order creating further delays and mistakes seem to be commonplace. The managers appear to be aware of these issues but seem afraid to do anything about it. My advice to Bubba management would be make some changes with their staff and until then I'd recommend people go elsewhere if you value your time and money. There are other good chicken places in Dallas without these hassles.

If I could give ZERO stars, I absolutely would🤢 The lack of basic hygiene and the complete disregard for customer safety here are huge red flags 🚩 First, I was served a cup of ice that had a frozen roach inside one of the cubes!! I was so shocked and disgusted that I didn't even think to take a picture. When I brought it to the manager's attention, she didn't apologize or show any concern. Nothing. I asked for a cup without ice, and instead she kept insisting on giving me more ice..like I didn't just pull a roach out of my drink. When she finally handed me a cup with no ice, there was a facial or pubic hair stuck on the side! Having to request multiple clean cups and still getting no apology is honestly unbelievable. As for the food, the cinnamon roll was the only thing worth finishing. Everything else was forgettable. This establishment seriously needs to reevaluate its cleanliness standards and staff training, because this wasn't just a bad experience... it was a health concern.

We’ve lived in UP for 35 years and have been loyal customers to Bubbas that entire time. I waited in line for an hour and a half, starting at 6:15, only to be told they were out of food when it was time to order.. That is what they said, “We are out of food”. Look, their food is really good. I get it, but why not post a sign or let people waiting in cars know that they were out of food and not make us wait that long to leave empty handed? .i was stuck in line and waited another 20 minutes to exit. I asked the guys at the window and they told me they had been out of food a long time. They said their manager would never let them tell people not to wait in line. Thinking they exaggerated, I called the manager to ask him to please let people know when they are out of food. Oh my. Was he full of himself. Told me they had people waiting two hours just to get dides and he had zero empathy for my meager hour and 45 minutes. He stated he was not going to ever let people know they were out of food. People can just wait. He hung up on me. I called him back. “Mam, I’m not going to tell you what you want to hear. I am not going to apologize to you. You aren’t special in any way.” After waiting so long I lost it. I admit I let a string of “F” bombs out. I had no issue with their food being so good that they ran out, i have no issue that I waited far to long in line or that they are never going to let people know when they are out of food. I do have issue with the manager’s unbelievably ugly attitude. So, if you are in line, know that if they run out of food, not only will they not tell you, but they will give you crap if you even try to suggest that is not nice or kind. The old Bubbas I knew and loved for decades is dead! As long as this manager works there, you’ll get home cooking with side of snarky, rude and zero empathy. Look at my other reviews. Almost all 5 stars. It takes a lot to rile me up!
