Pulled up at closing time with minimal expectations of actually leaving with food based on previous experiences with chicken joints. Was not only mildly surprised, but I dare say IMPRESSED! I love their rolls! The chicken strips at this location come out nice and crispy! The dirty rice is to die for, especially when you save some of it and let the seasoning absorb overnight! I'm glad this place isn't losing quality like any other chains that are growing.

Our food was excellent! Myra and Lupita made sure we got the best deal, and both were so kind...guess it is because we are old! We love the gizzards and CE has the best in town...all of their chicken is good!

The wait was not very bad with a few cars before me. I opted for a 3 piece all breasts and was quite pleased. The chicken was plump and juicy and the coating was light and very tasty without being too salty.

The wings are great I always tell em to give me the spicy seasoning to sprinkle on my wings. I like a lil spicy food so that is a great way for me to control how m7ch spice I want to sprinkle on my wings. The tea used to be extremely sweet but it seems as tho they have changed it.

Returning once again to this location! Only downfall was the waiting for my fish to fry. And, even that isn't a bad thing because it was fresh fish. It talked fresh. The chicken tenders are better than Wicked Wings.

I have been visiting here for several years now. I thought it deserved an update. During the recent Era of the Pestilence, this location remained open providing drive-thru service when many a sit-down joint was closed. The employees and the nice ladies who manage this chicken shack worked hard to keep the place running under strained economic circumstances. I wish to thank them for always being there when I needed them. I LOVE Chicken Express and I love this location. They take good care of the customers here and they create a friendly environment that keeps me coming back year after year. Love this place. The food is always cooked right. The people are super friendly to me. Been to other Chicken Express restaurants in town and they always seem off. Really miss the sauce tossed tenders. Please bring that back!!

As usual with this location's drive thru you better know what you want and speak clearly. They don't offer much time to make changes or ask questions. The food is most always as ordered but I must say the leg and thigh I ordered must have come from a sparrow. Tiny doesn't begin to explain it. Oh well it's Sunday afternoon and I was hungry. The okra and corn puffs were outstanding. My biscuit that was to be a roll will survive until I can toast it tomorrow. I hope management reads comments and addresses concerns with staff.

Who ever was taking drive thru orders yesterday, 06/21 @5pm, can not hear good. She upgraded my drink when I specifically said I wanted a medium drink, the drink size that come with the meal. Of course I noticed after they ran my card and the cashier pretty much looked confused as hell. I hope she doesnt always upgrade customers drinks JUST to get a few more cents per transaction. SMH. Also please fill your mash potatoes cups. Not enough food for the amount of $ you pay

You might as well place order there instead of online. I placed order online and it said the order was ready. When I walked into the restaurant, my order was taped to the line. They started my order when I asked for it at the counter.

I'm making this review after about 3 years and it's very honest and I've posted many reviews. Spend a few more cents of gas money and go to Midway and Frankford location. It's the absolute best customer service and freshest chicken and livers I've had. This location here off Royal and North Central is not great. It's close to me so I go to it. Recently after a couple of years I happened to be on Midway and stopped by the Midway Frankford location and instantly remembered why I loved Chicken Express in the first place. Totally different experience. I stopped going to the Frankfort location because I changed jobs. I had no idea how different each location is. I now take the extra time to drive well out of my way to get the delicious chicken and Frankford and Midway where the customer service is always on point and the food is always good.

I have been going to this place for the past 5 years and have always been excited to go they have good seasoned tenders and my favorite their fried orca all of that is good but recently the prices have changed drastically the reason I really liked this place before is because the quality and the price made sense but now their prices skyrocket other than that I would choose this place over any other chicken tender place.

I like their tenders and live dipping them in hot cream gravy versus the cold sauce at Caine's but the mash potatoes were put into containers ahead of time and were not hot. Thankfully gravy was hot enough to help. The rolls as always were fantastic.

The cashier rang up our food wrong, so they had to throw some of it away. We only wanted a few spicy strips. And the tea I really wanted but was sour in the machine. So I told the lady it was sour and she got mad. She didn't fully understand what i was saying. She got a jug of tea out of the fridge for us and nd opened it to fill our cups up. And then when we started drinking it, we realized it was sour too. They need to clean the machines that make the tea. But the food was good.

I called the manager (woman) who had no apology at all and simply said I can come back and order more!! Really!! Open your order EVERY time at this place. Do not trust them - no apology or offer to correct it from this horrible manager.

*CHECK YOUR ORDER* This is two times in a row I’ve been here in the drive through ordering for my family. Both times they’ve forgotten to put fries in every box with my combo order. And this time the drive thru lady was waving me through when she didn’t even hand me our drinks this place has just gotten weird.

This one doesn't have the sweet tea that lm use too, the tea was barely sweet. The chicken express off of 75 and royal sweet tea is very sweet, which l wasn't close to that one at the time, so that's why l went to this one for the first time and didn't enjoy the tea.

So, Chicken Express originally started out with seasoning packs hot or regular that could be requested when you received your order. Now I’ve been to several and they say we don’t have them anymore. Excuse Me? I’m sorry there’s no reason we just don’t have them anymore. Look (African Americans love seasoned food if your not offering seasoning then you have stopped us demographically from coming through here to purchase). We got 2 of their tenders combo. Half regular half spicy. One order has cheese sticks and the other was with mashed potatoes and gravy. The food was not good. We got our food around 10:45am, they opened at 10am. No one was in line. But our chicken tenders were extremely dry. To make it worse the combo didn’t come with any sauce. If it was suppose to, they didn’t ask us what sauce we wanted. It was our first time there so not sure if sauce comes with the combo. Luckily I had ranch at home, but even with the ranch the chicken was terribly dry and bland. Even their Dr. Pepper tasted off. It was flat and just tasted like sugar water. Also, their gravy is bad. All you taste is black pepper and water. No depth of flavor. I have never tossed out mashed potatoes before because I love them, but I literally could not finish it after 2 bites. The only saving grace is their cheese sticks. That was good. Wouldn’t recommend this place for chicken tenders.

I will NOT come back to this establishment ever again! I only asked for a #1 Regular with mashed potatoes and a roll. I was dinning-in and instead of being given a tray, I was given a to-go box with no napkins and no plastic silverware. I had nothing to wipe/clean my hands with and nothing to eat my mashed potatoes with. They did not have any napkins nor silverware out in the open for customers to take when necessary, so I had to speak to a cashier. Unfortunately, there was a group of construction workers that came in to order right as soon as I was making my way to the cashier. So it was either wait for several minutes for these guys to place their orders or bite the bullet and leave. So I took pics and left. Don't expect me to come back after this crap!

This location is not sanitary. One employee was sweeping the extremely dirty floor of the kitchen right next to uncovered food. Looks like she was trying to add in extra seasoning to the food with dirt from the floor. They handed me a drink that was filled too much, causing the entire lid to be covered. She threw the food down in a very rude manner and walked away. She may not like her job but she chose to work there and needs to adjust the attitude. Won't be back to this location.

I like chicken express but the CHILDREN they have working here could care less about customer service. The girl working just shoved my food in my hand but was already on to the next order. I couldn't even ask for condiments before she slammed the door on me. And the other workers were too busy horse playing to look out and realize I still needed to be helped. An establishments customer service can set them a part or drive them to the ground. Where's your manager on duty? As a retail manager, if my staff acted like that I would be EMBARRASSED.

Last night was the first time I’ve had chicken express within a few years and sadly, based on the performance of this location, it will probably be my last visit ever. I stopped on my way home from work and after sitting at the window waiting for my food for almost 20 minutes after my payment was taken I finally waved down the drive thru worker by the name of Kevin to see why it was taking so long since there was no communication. he told me that they were cooking the fries. I expressed the fact that I was unhappy to wait 20 mins for fast food and he rolled his eyes at me. I asked for the manager and spoke with a lady named Ingrid who offered nothing but excuses taking no accountability as to why her employee was so poorly trained in customer service and not showing any herself. By then my order was ready and everything was cold aside from the fried pickles which were burnt to a crisp. This experience was sad and I won’t be back. Canes is a million times better.

I dont like this location or new manager. I asked for the special 3 wings, fries, and drink for $5. The special is from 2-5, but I was 30 minutes early and still was allowed to get the special. I understand it wasnt time, but she stated I'm the only one who comes and asked for the wings. Well, if I'm the only one give then to me! Maybe it's me, but I think good customer service would have given them to me.

The chicken was too greasy. The frying oild hasn't been change in a long time. They charged me twice for the same item. Also very rude employees.

We had to wait 40 minutes for an 8 piece dark box! And we ordered biscuits with it and got rolls instead! Was told it would be another 16 minutes for biscuits! Yes it was Super Bowl Sunday but you would think they would be prepared for that! Nothing “Express” about it!

10/28/2018 The drive thru staff advised us it would be 8 to 10 minutes on fish so we left then came back to get our order , to find out it was incomplete. Then she had the nerve to deny us a complimentary soda. After I told her about herself she politely gave me a comp soda. She should had done that the FIRST time I asked.

The last time I was here they messed up my order and I went back today and complained about missing items on my orders, the service was awful and the server ignored me. The food I ordered today was so bad, the worse experience ever. The corn was old and tasteless. The green beans was bland. I called them and the supervisor hung up the phone on me without acknowledging or apologizing for the errors. Bad food. Poor customer service. I won’t eat here again.

Pros: good sides, great rolls, good gravy.... Cons: like others they have increased prices and reduced portions; got 2 of the smallest tenders I've ever seen anywhere. They rush you inside ordering and in the drive through. They rush you so much to the point they don’t even get any orders right. This location need to be shut down for poor service so par food quality on top it all as well. I stop by this store sometimes, maybe once per two or three month whenever I feel like I want to eat a delicios chicken. Wow, they changed a lot. it's pretty bad here now. Chickens smell awful and got too dry. Their rolls were one of my favorites, but now they make the worst rolls I've ever eaten. The roll I got was not soft at all. It was kinda hard..wow, I won't come back later.

There was a fake eyelash on my chicken that’s ridiculous and then they take forever and are so rude

The lady w/the headset taking the orders is very Rude! There was no greeting & she was only able to force "anything else," out of her mouth as if there was a limit on what could be ordered. It irritates me to no end to be rushed while I'm placing an order. When I'm done I always say "That'll be it!" A person w/zero Customer Service skills should not be on the window or front counter! Won't be back to this location!!
