Opinions de Commissary Dallas
Breakfast was amazing! It was so fresh and flavorful.
Super yummy food. Card only- no cash. Busy.
One of the best cafes in Dallas. Service is great. Their food and baked goods are delicious. Their pb chocolate chip cookie is the best I’ve ever had. Great spot!
Unique drink choices! I got a cold brew with lemonade in it. Weird, but it had a wonderful sweet and smoky flavor. Line was very long but the baristas got through everyone quickly. I waited less than a minute after getting my receipt for my drink to show up on the counter. The barista also had the wifi password memorized and gladly gave it to me so that I could do some remote work. I was very impressed with the service! Would definitely come back.
Tried their breakfast tacos this morning and was seriously impressed. Quality tortillas and a great value for very filling tacos! After two of them I was full. And the breakfast burrito my husband got was huge. Really good food and a super cute store. Looking forward to trying the coffee next visit!
My husband and I got breakfast here a couple times during our visit in Dallas. I had the Pistachio Oat Latte, Bagel sandwich and avocado toast with salmon during my visits and all were phenomenal. The Avocado toast has a slight heat to it with the chili oil addition, which was a great surprise and the salmon add on was a large cut, definitely worth the price. The bagels were SO GOOD! Soft yet crisp on the outside. Would definitely recommend
I had my first order from Commissary on 9/5 and it was so good!! I tried the egg sandwich with the chicken sausage and egg whites. Best chicken sausage I have ever tasted!!! Then, I also ordered the oatmeal and will tell you the banana is a new experience that’s such an amazing combo! I work downtown and am preparing to have Sunday breakfast at Commissary before church!! Can’t wait to bring my friends!! I’ll post pics next time
I had the pleasure of visiting Commissary at 1217 Main Street in Dallas, and it was nothing short of exceptional. I ordered the coconut banana oatmeal, and let me tell you—it was delicious. Creamy, perfectly balanced in flavor, and so satisfying that I could have stopped right there. But I couldn’t resist trying more. The breakfast potatoes were a standout—well-seasoned, tender on the inside, and cooked to perfection. The portion size is generous—easily enough to share with a friend (trust me, you’ll want to). The bacon came out beautifully curly, adding a touch of fun to the plate, and both the potatoes and bacon were served in a charming cardboard box with a see-through top. The presentation? Spot on. The atmosphere of the restaurant is cozy, inviting, and stylish—perfect for a relaxed breakfast or brunch. At a price point of $22 for everything I ordered, it was well worth it, though I probably could have just enjoyed the oatmeal and been completely satisfied. But everything looked so good, I wanted to taste it all—and I’m glad I did. If you’re looking for great food, excellent presentation, and a welcoming atmosphere in downtown Dallas, Commissary is the place to go. Five stars all the way! Highly recommend.
My wife & I had breakfast at Commissary at 10:30am on a Sunday. It was pretty busy but we were able to share a table with another couple. My wife enjoyed her Smoked Salmon Bagel, & I had the Breakfast Burrito which was delicious and perfectly prepared. I especially loved the chipotle salsa that came with it. The food was of great quality & decently priced. My only criticism would be that the dining area was a little messy & the floors and tables could be wiped down & swept more frequently, but we would 100% eat here again.
A gem for breakfast/lunch meals. They serve a wide selection of all-day breakfast favorites, plus some of the best baked goods in downtown. Their sandwiches, salads, and drinks are just as impressive, and the service is outstanding. The only downside? Portion sizes shrink after lunch 😢, but the quality remains top-notch.
The coffee here is quite good, and I really appreciate the variety of milk alternatives available, especially the unsweetened options, which are hard to find. However, the additional $1 charge for the alternatives feels a bit overpriced. Another downside is that there’s no restroom, which can be inconvenient for customers. Overall, a decent spot for coffee.
A couple of vegan options here. I like the hot sandwich Veggie BÁNH Mi, which consists of crispy tofu, enoki mushrooms, pickled carrots, daikon, cilantro, jalapeno, crispy shallots, soy-sesame sauce. They also have a veggie bowl and burger. The staff is always nice and polite. The have my favorite potato chips, Torres and some vegan chocolate bars to choose from if you have a sweet tooth.
This place makes a great breakfast, the egg and bacon bagel was amazing and the breakfast burrito with eggs, chicken, etc, was soo good. I really enjoyed the atmosphere as well! The only thing was the price, which, for breakfast, was extremely pricey. I would recommend overall though.
Employee who took my order was nice and food was fresh. I got the coconut oatmeal and an oatmeal raisin cookie. The old sweetness you get from the oatmeal is from the coconut and almond butter. Wish it added a lil brown sugar but it was still good. The cookie was soft and fresh as well.
Cute spot, but they're robbing you blind. Most places are now so it is what it is. I know I've ordered a mimosa here in the past so I was excited but what I got today is dangerously close to being my 13th reason. Also, you can tell by the color that I got a whisper of champagne. Disappointed isn't the word. I ordered "breakfast potatoes" and got a box of whole baby potatoes. I actually ordered several à la carte breakfast items to sit down and eat and they all came to me in boxes rather than on a plate. Just ridiculous for the price.
The only reason I am giving 3 stars is because, today, my coworker and I came into eat. We both ordered similar things. I asked for the arugula and tomatoes to be left off. Instead, I ended up not only with them on anyway but seemed like extra. I know the young lady at the counter put no arugula and no tomatoes on the ticket. I watched her do it on the computer and she even repeated to me. We also both asked for ice water to drink. We didn't even get it. I had to ask for it. They did apologize for not giving us our drinks. Whoever was working in the kitchen clearly doesn't know how to read an order ticket very well. They weren't even busy at the time. SMH. Other than those mishaps, the Salmon Bagel was delicious. And one other thing. They need to learn how to check tables for cleaning and learn table touch. It's more effective. I watched a guy cleaning everything but the tables. We had to clean our own table off, and so did some other customers that came in while we were eating. It's a very beautiful restaurant, bright and colorful (eye catching). Just fix a few things and this would a #1 restaurant. I'm posting some of the more positive pictures I took. Even my bagel before I took the stuff that should of been left off at my request. Oh, one more thing the olive mixture was Excellent!!!! This downtown Dallas.
Food was good, tasted very fresh and had good flavor. Service however was awful. First time here and coming from out of town, looked for a breakfast place with family and as I was reading the menu the tall lady taking our order was incredibly impatient and had so much attitude when we were ordering and kept asking “is that it?” in the most rude tone and flipping the screen (3 times) for us to pay as we added things to our order. I didn’t even order anything for myself because I had questions about some items I was debating on but didn’t want to ask because the lady seemed incredibly annoyed by our order (which wasn’t long it was 4 items and a coffee). I would NOT recommend coming here - there are other places nearby with food just as good at the same price with better service and cleanliness.
