Opinions de Crossroads Diner Dallas
Crossroads diner is a fantastic place for breakfast and lunch and comfort food. Chef tom is fantastic. He used to be the head chef of a restaurant at a Dallas hotel called Central 214 that I was a part of ownership. He’s a great guy and very personable. Tom knows his stuff and is great with recipes and preparing great meals. His “sticky buns“ are well known and fantastic! Even though we live close to downtown Dallas, we make it up to crossroads a couple of times a month. GREAT FOOD!
Thank you, Ali! You were such a rock star and explained the menu for us. Had recommendations and we had a great first experience at Crossroads. Everyone from every staff was nice and helpful. The food was the bomb and a must try as they only serve on Sat/Sun: carmalized pecan cinnamon roll. We shared this with 3 people and it was delicious. I don't think you will leave with an empty stomach but a smile on your face. 😁
This place rocks. I'm usually skeptical of most breakfast spots (usually OK food for $$$), but my wife and I decided to go on a whim a few months ago. I couldn't have been more pleasantly surprised! Every single dish we have tried since then has been phenomenal, especially the specials. On top of that, the prices aren't outrageous like other breakfast places. The wait staff are always friendly and knowledgeable of the menu (shoutout to our usual server, Megan). 11/10 breakfast spot. Highly recommend!
New'ish breakfast place next to Rodeo goat 🐐. Its a bit noisy but the food selection and quality is excellent. I've been on a diet and ordering avcacodo toast at many places. By far this was the best and best price, with more included: soft toast easy to cut (this has been a problem) with avcacodo, 2 tomatoes, and 2 eggs. The small little salad 🥗 on the side, was a nice touch. I also had there "style of grits" .. They didn't need anything extra - No butter, sugar, or syrup needed ... perfect and savory. Can't wait to come back for brunch and try the Waygu burger that the owner mentioned. Great place ...
We found this hole in the wall diner and it was absolutely delicious! Our server was so sweet and attentive, and gave us good food suggestions. (Don’t forget to ask about their specials!) Our food was spectacular. My husband had the Chicken Fried Steak which came with eggs, grits, and pancakes. I had the small platter of waffle and bacon (but it was all so delicious and crispy) My husband also said: “I’ve never had good grits until now”. They were absolutely flavorful. As we were walking out I believe the owner/manager thanked us for stopping by. We absolutely loved our experience and will return for the sticky bun 🍞😉When planning a visit we were told the earlier the better! For context we were dining at @7-8am on a Friday and it was empty, No wait or line. Definitely a must go!
Great spot! Friendly service, clean casual vibe, and really good food! Sticky bun and French toaster were fantastic, bacon think and crispy, even the regular ol pancakes that came as a side were exceptional!
The Crossroads Diner re-opened! And it's in Plano now! This was hands down one of our favorite places to go to breakfast until they closed a few years ago. The food is always incredible, and the breakfast tostada seen in this picture is so good that it's very hard for me to order anything else when I come here. I recommend getting your eggs over medium with this dish. The pancakes are great. In one of the pics you can see I flipped one over so you can see all the blueberries tucked in there. And I really like the small touches like hot maple syrup by default, the ability to get real cream with your coffee, and their coffee just seems to taste better than typical diner coffee. And they have the largest selection of sweeteners I have seen. You should definitely consider coming down here if you haven't been. As for us, we will be coming here pretty regularly. 😋
Nice restaurant- food made from scratch- finally an alternative to FirstWatch - I gave it five stars out of fairness and because of so many good reviews and the attentive service I received. BUT I have to say my food (PowerBowl) has not seen any spices nor salt and pepper- it was completely tasteless. Yes I know - there is salt and pepper on the table - that saved it somewhat - look at the picture, try to season your food with the two eggs on top..?! Portion size is rather small- a side of toast equals in one thin slide - but hey that helps to watch you weight 😉
Stopped in for a wonderful meal today. Service was top notch. I asked for help to order the best way as I wanted to try a good cross-section of their menu, e.g. eggs, biscuit, whole wheat blueberry pancakes and chicken sausage. My server made a great recommendation to do the egg combo, choose a biscuit as one side and upgrade to whole wheat blueberry pancakes as another. That was much appreciated. It feels like some restaurants try to squeeze you for every dollar but not here. I felt like I received tremendous value for an elevated diner experience. The biscuit was amazing in its simplicity, punched up by the preserves offered. And it just continued on from there each dish luring you in for more. Over easy eggs with a nice warm cream center and soft outside. Chicken sausage came as two large links with a twist, I.e. a sweet sort of char. The he pancakes had a vanilla, blueberry flavor with maybe a hint of citrus and warm syrup. I came as a single and waited on promptly. My waiter took a genuine interest in my order and made excellent recommendations. I noticed a few of the wait staff were older, which was nice because I’m older and felt like I received genuine care. I was neither ignored, or helicoptered, which was good. The food was prepared with care, as opposed to some of the more fast-paced corporate restaurants. Care is the one thing that I’ve been paying particular attention to lately and this place has it. Maybe it’s due to homesickness or being away from loved ones but places like this ar certainly comforting.
Wonderful food and service. This place served THE BEST corned beef hash I’ve ever had, and I’ve had my fair share of corned beef hash. Also had the power bowl which had tons of flavor and was cooked perfectly. My only suggestion to the restaurant would be for the host staff. On multiple times, they tried sitting tables directly beside other occupied tables when the entire rest of the restaurant was empty. Spread people out. People don’t like being right next to others if they don’t have to be.
Oh, my word! We used to frequent Crossroads at Preston and Campbell and were crushed to see it go. By total CHANCE we saw it reopened when we discovered a Flying Fish near our neighborhood. It's tucked away along a creek at Alma and Plano Parkway. Lots of parking, beautiful setting, and one of the best breakfasts you'll get. They do really well on the basics, but have some really fabulous others like frittatta... mine this morning with sausage and caramelized onions topped with a creamy boursin cheese, or eggs Benedict Florentine that is to die for. House made everything including their yummy syrup. Top your breakfast with their stellar coffee or their famous cinnamon roll and I guarantee you'll be back. Service (Hey, Courtney!) is fabulous and you'll see the chef running around checking on things. Find it and GO!

I’m so happy that Crossroads Diner is back! The atmosphere makes you feel at home, the service was incredible (thanks to Christina, I can’t give enough praise!), and the food was just as I remembered - delicious, hot, and well-crafted recipes made with love. I enjoyed the fluffy pancakes with butter, maple syrup, and a touch of whipped cream, as well as scrambled eggs, bacon, and grits. Everything was delicious and dining here is such a lovely experience. I can’t wait to dine in again soon!
Welcome back Crossroads! Long time customer that was very sad to see them close during covid. Super excited that they are back. Great new location between Rodeo Goat and Flying Fish. Beautiful back patio! I strongly recommend the breakfast tostada and blueberry pancakes!
We’re so happy to see Crossroads Diner back and open again! This place truly feels like home. The food is always delicious, the service is welcoming, and you can tell it’s run with care. One of the best family-owned restaurants in the area. Highly recommend supporting them!
Absolutely wonderful place!! This was my first time here (my parents' second time) and the food was absolutely delicious!! Our server Megan was very accommodating, professional and friendly! And it was nice to see the owner there coming to greet the diners. I had the pancakes & bacon which were mouth-watering good (they are SO GOOD) and the french toast!! - my mom had the Crossroads breakfast (including the chohrizo which I tried and omg) and dad had fritatta 👍🏼👍🏼🍽 Let me tell you all, this place is so great, please visit them for breakfast or lunch (their coffee is great too). And I love that it has a unique and welcoming vibe, very much a local, family vibe with a fun atmosphere, and delicious food
Holy crap!!! What an absolute gem!!!! We came here for a private party, and it was amazing! The drinks were excellent; we would recommend the mango margaritas. For dinner we had caesar salad and steak. It was the best we’ve ever had! Everything was super flavorful and cooked to perfection. There isn’t a single dish on the menu that isn’t absolutely delicious. We will definitely be coming back to enjoy this wonderful food again!!! Not to mention the staff were all super friendly and attentive. We could tell the front and back of house staff were working so hard to make sure everything was perfect!!! Make sure you stop by for a wonderful time!

You should come to here! Pork schnitzel eggs benedict with grits is the special today. They also have a pumpkin waffle today. They always have the BEST.PANCAKES.EVER! My husband loves their corned beef hash. The lunch options are on point too! The crispy chicken sandwich is amazing.
Wish I had taken pictures of our food but we couldn’t wait to get started! We have been eyeballing this place for a bit and WOW! The atmosphere is awesome, we were greeted by friendly faces, and our server Courtney was so sweet and attentive. She gave me a stellar recommendation (sausage, onion, Boursin frittata) and was always there when we needed her but didn’t hover. My husband is still raving about the food and we are back home. He got the corned beef dish and was so happy with the homemade hash! For real going to make this a staple and bring our parents, it was way better than expected!

A friendly neighborhood diner that overdelivers where it counts, with comfort food done right and a vibe that feels easy and welcoming from the moment you sit down. Most everything worked, but the pancakes, tostadas, and coffee punch well above their weight class and are the clear reasons to come. Service was warm and responsive, parking was straightforward with a nearby lot, and the overall experience felt relaxed and unpretentious in the best way. This lands around a 4.3 to 4.4 for me, rounding down to a solid four. I do recommend it and would happily return, especially for a casual late-morning coffee and pancakes. Expect about $20 to $25 per person, which feels fair for the quality. Stick with the core menu and you’ll leave very happy.
The French Toast was classic textbook with all the hallmarks of experience - thick Brioche, not soggy and the telltale browned edges. Accustomed to family sharing of Frittata, the Spinach, Mushroom and Artichoke variation here was innovative with the use of egg whites but didn't expect wartime ration quantities of the ingredients on a four inch diameter, albeit thick, of egg whites. Mercifully, the hash browns were marginally overdone but passed my personal standards (since the place was not busy at all?). Not catering to a more diverse set of vegetarian (not necessarily Vegan) is a point of contention when we need all the help we need (egg whites, eh?) these days in our pursuit of healthy options.
Tom Fleming has opened a great location in Plano Tx. This relocation has everything to offer. His signature dishes fill the menu with choices for whatever you’re craving. My choice was breakfast today The over easy eggs paired with crispy bacon and hash browns were delicious. Adding the biscuits and pepper gravy enhanced the meal. The atmosphere is nice and the service was exceptional. If you’re looking for breakfast or lunch with upscale quality, this is where the quest ends. Visit soon and see it first hand.
The food quality was decent, portions are average (leaning more towards below average especially considering the price), service was good, atmosphere was fine. My only issue is the price we are paying for a side of grits, look at my photo… this isn’t even a side. It’s more like a small bowl for a side of sauce. And to charge $3.25- $3.99 for a “side” of grits, this portion size is ridiculous.

It’s so nice to find a high quality and well priced breakfast open before 9 am! Airy and clean space with lots of seating options and good menu. We had the sticky bun, chicken fried steak and corned beef hash. Both dishes came with eggs and 2 pancakes so enough to share with kids and still take home leftovers. Can’t want to try more things on the menu and will order the corned beef hash again :)
I’ve been going here regularly for a while. I’m hooked on the Power bowl, and sometimes indulge in the brioche french toast. And LaVazza coffee is always a win. The staff has been really good in my experience. The only downside to the atmosphere is the noise level. Too many hard surfaces. Makes it hard for folks with hearing challenges to chat when they have a full house. Aside from that, it’s nice: seating is comfortable, lighting is good, menus are readable, etc.
I see a lot of great reviews and I'm sure they are all true. I have been going to Crossroads for a long time. The first time they were on Walnut Hill/75 in an old Bennigan's, then we followed them to the Preston/Campbell location, the food was always top notch, the service great. However, I just went to their new location on Alma and Plano Pkwy in Plano Texas. My first observation - Where are all the people? I arrived around 8 am and the place was practically empty, I have always had to wait at the other two locations. The coffee I was served was warm not hot I asked for another cup. I order what I always ordered the caramelized onion Frittata, it was not how I remembered it, it was fine but not the same. Actually I was disappointed nothing stood out. When I entered the restaurant it still had the lunch menu displayed when I walked in, even though not very many people were there I had to wait to be seated - employees were all talking near the kitchen, and I was not told of any specials for the day. I will go back again, maybe they're just trying to get back on their feet. I hope it's better next time, I would still recommend it, but it does not feel or taste the same.
