Opinions de Oak Lawn Coffee Dallas
I haven’t had one disappointing visit to any of the Merit coffee locations! This was the first time I tried their Pistachio Dream Matcha Latte. highly recommend!
Fantastic coffee. For years I have purchased their beans and have always been impressed with the quality of them. Their coffee drinks in the store are just as good. We recently got an iced vanilla latte and loved it. We have tried other drinks like the strawberry matcha and were not quite as impressed. The quality of their coffee warrants them an easy 5 star review.
This place is small but super cute! Love the little bench nooks set into the wall to study at. The strawberry matcha was amazing! They have lots of unique flavors and coffee here. The barista's were awesome! Very patient in answering our many questions. The merchandise sold here was super cute.
Merit stays one of the more consistent and delicious coffees in DFW. Good place for working (over 50/50 speeds). Chairs are cushy. Parking in the front and back just fine. The matcha strawberry drink was quite tasty, the strawberries light and very freshly done as far as I can tell. Not artificial tasting. Props to the matcha for not being super chalky. Oat milk is $1 upcharge, same goes for other alternative milks. Total being $8 and change after tip. Their drip coffee is actually one of the better ones out there for sure, I normally do not go for drip, but it did a good job. I can't describe it much tho. Pop Tart was AMAZING. FLAKY warm and perfectly sweet. $4. Their maple pecan is well balanced! I believe the rest rooms are in the outside of the building so you may need to ask for access codes fyi.
I love Merit. I’ve been to this Highland location and Deep Ellum and they’re both great shops. Always seamless check out process. Great options on coffee (beans and to drink), merch, coffee tools and delicious food! The fact that they source and roast their own beans makes them so much better than a lot of coffee shops imo. They are easily one of my favorites. So, if you’re new in town or wanting to try local — go to Merit Coffee Co. P.s I usually spend over $50 because I get coffee beans, drinks and usually pastries. If you get 1-2 coffees you’re looking at anywhere from $5-10.
Such a great place! I asked the barista for her recommendation and she recommended the strawberry matcha. I’m pretty picky with my matcha drinks but this one was amazing! The matcha was fresh and high quality. The strawberries were sweet but didn’t taste super artificial. The price was good for the size of the drink as well! I believe I got a 16 oz for a little over $6 which seems like an average price but larger size so I’m happy with it! I’m very excited to come back here!
My personal #1 coffee shop based on the coffee. That first sip brings me such pleasure that other good coffee feels pedestrian. I buy the beans for home use but I never quite replicate the shop’s brew.

Had a very wonderful but peaceful time! Wish I was a little bit more on edge here but can’t say I met my expectations. I came here because I don’t usually have anxiety but I thought with the view from the place it might get my nerves on edge for a little bit in order for me to get anxiety so I can write my new novel.
My wife had an appointment at Drybar a couple of doors down, so I stopped into Merit Coffee while I was waiting for her. I arrived not long before they were getting ready to close, but the staff was still very welcoming and friendly. I really enjoyed the atmosphere inside. It had a relaxed feel that made it easy to slow down and enjoy the moment with a good cup of coffee. Speaking of the coffee, it was fantastic. Rich flavor, smooth, and clearly made with care. If you are in the area and looking for a great coffee shop to stop into, Merit is absolutely worth the visit.
I'm a daily here and absolutely love this place! Best coffee in all of Dallas. The staff is very easy to talk to, super friendly, and always quick to make your orders. Be sure to say hi to Nick when you visit!
This local coffee shop is a hidden gem and one of my favorite places to relax or get a little work done. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, with a mix of comfy chairs and work-friendly tables. Whether you’re meeting a friend, reading a book, or getting through emails, it’s the perfect spot.
I would agree with the sentiment here that the drinks here are not as good as they look. They are definitely pretty visually, but the actual taste is just.. boring? I had to add a packet of the sugar because their "features" matcha strawberry drink was pretty bitter , and honestly undrinkable until i added sugar. Now, I'm sure some people do genuinely enjoy it that way, but I would think for a featured drink it would be more mass appealing. The price itself is high, but no higher than Starbucks or any other coffee shop being around $5-7 a drink depending on what you get and what size.
Great spot to chat and work. Amazing flavors. Great place to feel cozy.
Coffee 5 stars Croissant 3 stars But hey, it’s a coffee shop not a French bakery for crying out loud! The coffee was perfect. The croissant wasn’t very flaky and underbaked (is that a word). If you’re coming here for the bitter sweet nectar Waaqa provides mortal man you won’t be disappointed. Take the coffee, leave the croissant.
Merit coffee was amazing! Their matcha is a must try- absolutely impressed with its flavor and the service. Cherry Blossom Matcha was amazing and better than the Strawberry Matcha
Smaller outpost of Merit, with no inside bathroom and a line that turns down the middle of the room. But, quick, fresh coffee service, and every table was active for business meetings, telework, or enjoying a sip.

Busy location on a weekday afternoon. Perhaps the line seemed long because the service was slow. Did not look to be understaffed but I saw many customers waiting a long time for their drinks. I had a latte there. No complaints but I would say it was just average.

Merit Coffee has good coffee across their chain, in this location is no exception, but this location is also consistently the weakest location in Dallas. The service is sub-par on a regular basis. There has been more than one occasion that I have seen three people behind the counter deep in conversation when customers are waiting or when online orders are pending. The employees of this location are clearly there to socialize and collect a paycheck. Customer service is a distant afterthought. Corporate needs to implement a change of management to turn this location around quickly.

This is one of, if not the slowest coffee shops in Dallas. If the blond man is working, your can guarantee your order will be wrong or he will leave something off of it. I got them at 6:30a when it opened. I didn’t get my order until 6:55a. He let a girl come in and skip the line because she said she had a doctor’s appointment. I’d already been waiting 10 mins for a kolache, when I checked on it he said the forgot to put mine in. I would advise not coming here if you’re ordering to go and value customer service.
Worst expresso coffee i had in my entire life. The coffee tasted like burnt and dirty water. It seemed the machine had not been cleaned in a very long time. Barista also gave me attitude and was not polite. Never coming back again. 0/5
I hate to write a negative review about this place because I’ve loved Merit for years, but if I’m going to pay over $6 for a matcha latte (before tip!) I expect it to be made “correctly”. That does not mean putting matcha powder in a blender with water to make your concentrate and then storing it in a plastic squeeze bottle 🤮 Can we all say “BPA” together? It means whisking the matcha together for each drink, truly making a handcrafted matcha. That’s what I’m paying for, after all. I can easily do the blender trick at home and save $6. What’s even more shocking about this is I was literally the only customer in the store when I ordered this drink and when I asked the barista about it she told me that it was “direction from corporate” and all of their cafes are making matcha like this now. Insane. Merit, you’ve downgraded yourself to offering fast food matcha. So disappointed in you.
Used to frequent Merit since I started working on the strip, but honestly every interaction I have in here is something left to be desired. Customer service is okay. Coffee isn’t the best. It’s pretty much always busy, great for them, but it definitely shows in their quality. I’ve really stopped going after my prior interaction after I was left waiting on a peppermint tea for ten or so minutes while the baristas talked to other customers instead of making my drink, not a big deal but annoying. However I decided to give them one last shot and I got a completely wrong order for a coffee that tasted like they hadn’t cleaned the machine in a few days. Definitely won’t be spending anymore of my hard earned coin here.

This spot is usually our go-to for great matcha and coffee, but today was a miss. We ordered a 16oz London Fog and a matcha latte, and both tasted like sugary milk no real coffee or matcha flavor coming through. We’ve had amazing drinks here before, so this was unexpected. Still hoping it was just an off day, because we really do love this place.
