3.8 deserves a 4 though with service. Let's face it Mexican Buffet is hard to find. Use to be a staple growing up. They even bring you your refilled plates, very thorough. Check around the Dallas area for other locations..

Pancho's Mexican Buffet is definitely a place to go for the nostalgia. The food isn't like super amazing, there are some items that were a lot better than others, especially the Chile rellenos, those never disappoint! Enchiladas were dry and didn't seem like they cooked long enough. Sopapillas are still pretty good, they don't have real honey, it's like a honey flavored syrup. They used to have some amazing chocolate chip cookies, but sadly those and the ice cream machine are gone. I had a good time with friends and we will probably go back just to make more good memories.

Had a great meal and time with my dad. Food was good and was the sweetest and most attentive waitress. Definitely recommend this place in Mesquite TX.

Ponchos is either a place you love or you hate. I personally grew up with ponchos and think it's wonderful. There's plenty of food that's fresh and good service

Nostalgia X3. The food is what I remember. It's not fantastic, it's not bad, there's just plenty of it. Certain dishes stood out to me like the tamales, the yellow battered Chile rellenos, and the hot buttered cinnamon and sugar + honey sopapillas. The service was "just raise the flag" as expected. The inside is kinda run down, it's in a sketchy strip mall, and the bathrooms were pretty bad. You could smell the restroom all the way out in the dining area. But we didn't get sick, and the whole Panchos buffet thing was a memory we wanted to experience again.

You know Poncho's right? Inexpensive but decent buffet style Mexican food. It's a bit bland but still pretty good. The waiting support lady that was servicing the dining area was a very "Johnny on the Spot" kind of waitress so the service was good. Atmosphere, was clean and enjoyable. They could invest a bit in their dining area to upgrade it, clean it up and make it a bit more customer friendly. It's definitely dated and a product of much use over the years!

Somewhat bland. Pancho use to be fun years ago. The atmosphere was a lonely feeling and staff seemed distant. The did was a combination. Just no one was smiling just bland. Not enough flavor. This was a total nostalgia trip. I hadn’t been to a Pancho’s since I was a teenager, some 30 plus years ago. The food was as I remembered. It isn’t stuffy food but comfort food in a flash. We did not get the wait person’s name but he was on it, very kind and answered my numerous questions about the business. I was a bit disappointed that there wasn’t a flag on the table. That was a piece of nostalgia I was really looking forward to. We both had the buffet and had the staples of my youth: flauta , chili releno , cheese and sour cream enchiladas and sopapillas. It’s not the best meal for a discerning palette but it is good comfort food. I am happy to know Pancho’s still exists and we will be back.

I was so sad when they closed the location on Wheatland rd. However, the food at this location was good too. Service wasn’t the best, but I had absolutely no problem doing some things on my own. I did like how the sopaipillas were freshly made upon request. There were plenty of tables/seats and room to eat and chat comfortably.

It’s Pancho’s. It’s just like it was 30 years ago. It ain’t bad, but it ain’t grand. If you wanna fill up on cheap Tex Mex, go for it. It’s a clean place and the ladies that work there are very good at keeping you took care of.

We were excited to visit Pancho’s for the first time in years. Our local Poncho’s Mexican Buffet in Waco closed years ago. Our visit to this location was a pleasant surprise. Same as I remembered it without the iconic little flag on the table. Our waitress was kind and attentive. Good food, not great but with all the right feels of nostalgia and charm. The best part was the sopa pillas, puffy, warm, and melt in your mouth goodness. We enjoyed it.

This was a nostalgia visit as I realized there were still a few open. The food was average at best. The meat enchiladas ate good as well as the chili relleno. Chips are great and the fresh, hot sopapillas were excellent!

The food was bland or just inedible.. the Only thing fairly worth speak8bg well of is our waitress was attentive, even though she was one of only 2 waitress... wotk8ng the dining room today! For spending almost $45 for 2 people, it was a BIG Disappointment. We won't be back!! 🤢 🤮

Don't come here for take out if you don't like standing and waiting on servers/cashier's who will clearly see you yet totally ignore the fact they you even exist. A simple "hello, one minute please" is enough to make up for the extended amount of time you will be standing at take out while waiting on service. And this also occurs when the place is almost empty. Avg wait until leave: 30 mins. As a bonus, the food is always cool to lukewarm once you get it.

I placed a pickup order and asked for no beans. I live over an hour away and when I arrived home my enchiladas were swimming in a sea of beans. I called the restaurant and they told me in order to get a refund I would need to return it. Driving an hour back is insane when they will be closed! Management and customer service is the worse.

The food tastes like it's been there since the opened today and the chicken enchiladas tasted like crap and the employees acted like they didn't want to be a work today there was one family here besides me but there was 4 tables that had dirty plates on them when I walked in and it took them 20 minutes after I seat down at my table before anyone clean those 4 tables and the floor still had trash on it when I left 40 minutes later the bathroom had dryed toilet paper on the floor from where the toilet overflowed at some time this place used to be really good now it's gone down hill really bad it's not worth no $18.38 I will not come back they just need to close the door.

After 30 years..well, I'll just say the only good things are the chicken Flautas and the sopapillas. Sorry but this doesn't come close to Authentic Mexican Cuisine, It has been how I say Cheaply done the "American food Almost copy way. It fails to hold a Standard taste,texture or For the most part..not cooked with Mexican Pride. The recipes are old and outdated , Nothing New, Flavors are wrong, either too much or too little spices..mostly too little. No..nope Never Again, there are way too many True Mexican Cuisine Buffet places opening now to Even consider this place a location for lunch or dinner unless you want Heartburn.
