Opinions de The Melting Pot Dallas
The view outside wasn’t that pleasant. Nothing they can do about that. However, Adrian (our server) was beyond wonderful! She explained everything as we were 1st time goers. She’s super sweet and has speedy service. The food was excellent! Super fun and great tasting. This is a wonderful place for date night.
It’s on the second floor of the white building furthest to the west and in front of Thai Orchid. Staff is extremely knowledgeable and very kind. It is pretty expensive, so be surprised for a $200+ check for 3 or 4 people. However it’s worth it just for the experience. They also offer packages like rose petals and candlelight setups. They offer what’s called an Ultimate Romance which offers rose petals, candles, a bubbly toast, the 4 course dinner, and a vase of 12 fresh roses.
This establishment offers a fantastic escape. The ambiance is consistently delightful, and the team members are always ready with a smile and efficient service. It's the perfect destination for a memorable outing.
Alex, our server, was absolutely AMAZING! I've been to multiple locations and the food is always good, but I haven't had service quite this great before. He explained everything perfectly, helped us with recommendations, and made both my boyfriend and brother-in-laws first experience wonderful. I will be asking for him as our server for any future visits here. Truly one of the best experiences we've had in a very long time. You guys hire good people. 11/10.
What a great place for a celebration! I went here for a birthday party, and so many things went well! The food was delicious. We had two pots of cheese spinach artichoke and Quattro formaggio. I preferred the Quattro formaggio. It had alcohol in it and a smoother cheese. The dippers were fun, but not all of them were good for dipping. Cheese didn’t stick to the tomatoes easily. For the chocolate fondue, there weren’t as many dippers compared to the cheese. I liked the fresh fruit the best. We had the flaming turtle and the marshmallow one. I liked the turtle one because it was a lighter, milk chocolate. It was cool that they had coated marshmallows, but I wish they had normal marshmallows too. The service was great. The server answered all of our questions and was so nice! Because it was my birthday, we got a special birthday cake AND more bunny/Easter-themed cake and cupcakes.
Went on Sunday of last week with a friend. Made a reservation last minute on the website on the drive to The Melting Pot; oddly, the restaurant didn't show up for me on the OpenTable app for Android at all, but the other locations did. We were taken care of by Beth, working with another gentleman whose name I can not remember, was just wonderful. She made great suggestions, knowledgable, was timely without rushing, and a great conversationalist. The restaurant was pretty busy as well, so service was beyond amazing. The only thing I didn't love 100% was maybe the atmosphere. Very minor thing, but the light fixtures over some of the tables have a bit of a distracting glare and the bar by the entrance looks in need of a bit of a facelify, but those are minor things. Regarding the food, I was blown away. I have been to this place a couple of times the past few years, so it wasn't my first time. My friend and I shared the The Complete Experience For Two with the added charcuterie board with the cheese. We, two grown men who tend to eat more than we should, were a bit concerned, coming in, that the portions would not be filling, but we were wrong. We chose the Quattro Formaggio for our first course, followed by a Caesar Salad for my friend and a Caprese Salad for myself. Note, in case anyone else was wondering, they do not have anchovies available as a possible addition to Caesar Salads. So far, everything was amazing, though we did wish we could have had more of the cheese fondue. For the third course, we decided on the Pacific Rim and, for a little bit extra cost, Steak Lovers cooked Coq Au Vin. We devoured the Pacific Rim and loved everything about it. The fish, steak, duck, and shrimp were delicious, and the potstickers weren't far behind. My personal favorites were the Ahi Tuna and Duck. Regarding the Steak Lovers, we did very much like the Teriyaki-Marinated Steak, also part of the Pacific Rim, but felt the two other offerings were a bit over seasoned as well as less tender, though not by much. It's still great, however. My friend did love the Teriyaki so much that he joked he would order a custom entree next time of just that. There were also some broccoli and mushroom caps with the order. The entree course was accompanied by an array of sauces, which were each fine, but I enjoyed the items as is. For dessert, we ordered the Flaming Turtle. We were stuffed by this point but managed to consume most of it with its accompanying sweets and fruits. Beth was also sweet enough to bring out a plate with a sweet and Happy Thanksgiving written on it. Would definitely come back, the experience was great. Just noticed I have no pictures of the third course. I guess I was just so excited and the food so good that I forgot.
I had never been to the Melting Pot but a couple of the people I was with had. Our server, Sharene, was one of the best servers I have had in a long time. She was more than happy to explain everything to me and even answered my millions of questions while I was like a kid in a candy store. We also had Stephanie the GM stop by our table and she was so sweet to stop and chat with us. Overall, the service completely made the whole experience out of this world! Ask for Sharene when you go, you won’t be disappointed!!!
Tonight we celebrated a big anniversary, Laura K provided hands down the best service we have had in the years of coming to Melting Pot in Addison. Laura truly provided a special evening for our anniversary, her attention to detail, our preferences always taken into account, drinks never empty and pacing was on point to accommodate a wonderful evening spent with my husband. Her recommendations were delicious and the whole evening equated to be memorable and wonderful. 10/10!!!
The melting pot offers such fun, unique dining experience! Not something you do every day, but it is fun every once in a while! I loved the cheese fondue, and the tomato dipped in it was amazing! The chocolate fondue was very rich, but sooo good. I got rocky road and flaming turtle but with dark instead of milk chocolate, and the flaming turtle was definitely my favorite! Our waitress was so knowledgeable and really attentive also!
My first time to try. It was awesome! The cheese coarse was wonderful. The salad was great. The entrée was absolutely delicious. But the chocolate coarse was AMAZING! fruit and other treats dipped in dark chocolate! I was in heaven. Isabell was our server, and she was outstanding. This could be a twice a year place, but it is worth it.
Upscale food, top notch service, but the location is in need of a facelift. I took my wife to the Melting Pot to celebrate Mother's Day, and we had a pretty awesome time! Our waitress, McKenna, was absolutely wonderful. Very responsive, good recommendations. We ordered the Mother's Day special, which was absolutely wonderful. I included pictures of the menu for details. We picked the loaded potato cheese course - amazing. The apple dipped in cheese was so good we asked for a little more! Main course was also great. Having done the wine base before we opted for the classic broth, and it was a good choice for everything from fish and steak to broccoli and mushrooms. Dessert course was hard to enjoy. It was delicious, but by then we were way too full. We ordered a couple of mixed drinks, server's suggestions based on what we told her we liked, and they were great. The whole meal was fantastic from start to finish. The only complaint, and this is a small one, is that the place seems a little run down. The bathroom was basically falling apart, and little details in the restaurant seemed dated or in disrepair. I wouldn't think twice if this was a budget option, but our check was $220 (with tip and tax), which strikes me as "upscale" for two people having a meal and two drinks. At that price, I guess I expect a clean bathroom, but perhaps I'm unreasonable in this regard. If they update the location a bit, this would be an amazing place for a fancy date. As is, it's still really good, just know that you're getting a fancy meal at an okay location and maybe avoid the men's room.
Overall this was a cool concept. I had a partying of 4. Reservation are highly recommended. We Had one cooking burner, in my opinion, wasn't enough. I believe they were short staffed. We were seated at 5:30 pm. It took 20 minutes for the server to get our order. Salads took another 30 minutes. By 7:20 we were given our uncooked proteins. We were finally done cooking the food at 9:15pm. We all ordered The classic, one order was missing, however, the manager quickly gave us the 4th order. The drinks were good. The staff was friendly. The meat was seasoned well, the pork was a bit too salty. The cheese, bread and veggies were nice. I would probably go back, but I would only have max two people. The cooking space is to small, even with two cooking burners.
I’ve been coming to this location at least once a year for like 15 years or so, and last night’s visit was the first dining experience that left me disappointed. Usually we come once at year for NYE but had plans this year so went about a week late. Occasionally we pop in another find in the year for other special occasions. 1. The food is still good but it’s notable how much everything has shrunk. They replaced apples with grapes in the cheese course which is fine but I missed the apples. The dessert has less and less dippers each year we come. Meat course I think has an appropriate amount of meat. I think we notice the difference with dessert the most. There was so much chocolate left in the pot because there just wasn’t enough things to dip in there. I remember when it came with a whole slice of cheesecake. 2. This was the first time that I’ve been disappointed in our service. I never got the lemon I asked for in my water. My sisters water wasn’t filled for like an hour after she finished it, and she had to ask for a refill. Our server forgot to bring us the garlic seasoning stuff we asked for with our salad so we had to flag someone else down (which was hard to do since they had us behind that wine room so we were tucked out of sight). We waited about 30 minutes after salads before the broth was even brought to our table to start boiling. I immediately knew it wasn’t the mojo we asked for because I’ve gotten that for 15 years and it didn’t have the right color or smell… but then we waited another 30 minutes before our server came back. I was going to ask her about it, but instead she said some weird comment about another server taking our food on accident and she grabbed the broth saying “I’m not sure if this is good anymore so I’m just going to remake it too”. My sister and I had a good laugh because boiling broth doesn’t go bad. And of course she returns with the correct broth, so I know she realized her mistake and instead of just saying that she realized she had the wrong broth she made up something weird. So at this point we had waited about an hour after our cheese and salad course to get started on entree which was wild to me and we were getting very impatient. Then had to wait even longer for the new broth to boil. Dessert thankfully came out mostly on time. We were there over 3 hours because of the extreme delay in the main course, usually I’d say we are in and out after 2 hours. Leaving after 10 pm from a 6:45 reservation was crazy work. Our server did not periodically check in on us, was only there when she brought the new courses so when there were mistakes or things she forgot, it went unnoticed for long periods of time. 3. You have got to get some vent fans installed if you’re going to continue to offer the skillet option for entree cooking. As we were in our main course and dessert another table near us started using the skillet which completely smoked up the entire half of the restaurant we were in, which triggered my asthma and made us rush through dessert to get out of there. We both stunk afterwards from it. Made us incredibly uncomfortable and kind of ruined the dessert course for us. Had our entrees not been so delayed, we wouldn’t have had to deal with the smoke, at least not for very long. So that added to the frustration. Perhaps the temperature needed to be lowered to help with this, but nobody took any sort of action and our server basically told us to suck it up. Overall we are glad we went and we will probably go again next NYE as our usual occasion. While the quality has gone down over the years (which I get… prices of the food stayed pretty similar so they need to save money somewhere to stay profitable) we still found the actual food to be tasty. But if we have poor service again I think we will find another fondue restaurant to take our business to.
This was our 2nd visit. Our first was amazing. Sever was enthusiastic and had great customer service and we were celebrating a birthday. She made the visit special and fun and we got a dessert for the birthday guest. This visit our server was not very attentive, and did not provide the atmosphere for our celebration that we were expecting. There was no dessert provided for the birthday, which was fine, but then why ask about a special event when reserving, and we were left with cheese/dessert on the table without drinks or dipping items. We will likely return, as the food is always delightful, but likely not for a special event as it was not made to be special for us this evening.
Reservation at 3pm Sunday for my daughter’s 18th birthday. When I made the reservation, I added on $20 for 6 chocolate dipped strawberries (never received because they don’t have them). Apparently, the 3 other families made their reservation for 3pm as well, as we were seated last (waiting 7-10min) Our table burner was acting up, so the cheese course took 10 minutes to start melting, being empty unsure why he didn’t move us to another table. The waiter was under-attentive.** I need to note we came to this location a year ago, for her 17th birthday and the waiter was amazing, the service was amazing, everything was amazing.** Unsure what happened this go around, but I am sure we won’t be returning to this location.
this was our second time going to the melting pot. the first time was amazing, the best service, everything was great. this go around, we had awful service. our cheese just wasn’t good like the last time even though we ordered the same thing. we also told our waitress that maybe the oil was too hot for our meat because it kept popping up and when we tried to use the timers that we’re told to use it would burn the food on the outside within 30 seconds. she told us that it was just because we had to “batter the meat”. even trying that we kept getting popped really bad and burnt food on the outside but raw on the inside. she even made comments like “oh wow that’s crispy” and she couldn’t even pick up the pot because it was too hot. i even explained to her that we couldn’t cook the meat without the outside burning. we asked multiple times for it to just be turned down so we could eat our food we spent the money on. she also only came to our table 5 times in our hour and half dinner, while other waiters had been to their tables plenty of times. just an overall bad experience this time, so we were very disappointed after making the drive there and paying the money.
We have dined here multiple times over the years, and unfortunately every single visit has resulted in the same issues. At this point, it’s clear this location is not allergy-aware, despite repeatedly assuring us that they are. We clearly explain our nut allergy and gluten allergy at the beginning of each visit. Each time we are told, “No problem.” There is even a gluten-free sign on the door, which gives a false sense of confidence. Yet on every occasion, we are served gluten bread and the cheese course prepared with beer—both of which are unsafe for us. This is not a one-off mistake; it has happened every single time we’ve visited. For a restaurant that markets itself as accommodating dietary needs, this level of carelessness is unacceptable and potentially dangerous. Allergies are not preferences—they are medical issues. We also came to celebrate two birthdays, as we always do for two of our children each year. Despite letting the staff know, neither child received their birthday dessert, which was extremely disappointing—especially given that this is supposed to be a celebratory, special-occasion restaurant. To make matters worse, the bar drinks were poorly made and incorrect, adding yet another layer of frustration to an already subpar experience. In addition to all of this, the service has consistently been poor—slow responses, lack of attention to detail, and an overall sense that staff are not properly trained, particularly when it comes to allergy protocols. We truly wanted this to be a place we could enjoy and return to for family celebrations, but after repeated experiences like this, we will not be returning. I would strongly caution anyone with food allergies or celiac disease to dine here.
Very disappointing experience. I visited on a Sunday afternoon and the front desk attendant was unwelcoming from the start, immediately asking if we had a reservation. We did not. He asked us to wait for about 10 minutes, saying, “Let me see what I can do,” then returned and said he could only seat us three hours later because he had several reservations coming after an hour. We explained that we were only there for dessert and would not need more than an hour. At that point, his reason for denying us service suddenly changed to “we don’t have enough staff.” This felt inconsistent and dishonest, especially since there were only one or two tables occupied, the restaurant was essentially empty. The interaction felt less about reservations or staffing and more about not wanting to serve us, which made the experience feel discriminatory and extremely uncomfortable. I would have understood being told politely to make a reservation for next time, but this was handled very poorly. Terrible customer service, never coming back.
We have been eating here for over 10 years, but we will never go back: - the waiter was sweaty and looked sick - the cheese was clumpy - the table and fondue forks were sticky - we smelled like burnt food when we left the restaurant because the empty fondue pots were left too long on the table the the food left over fondue burnt while it was sitting there - the wait staff was unprofessional and seemed under trained over $ Most of off, we clearly stated that our son had a tree nut allergy and asked that the pine nuts not be put on his salad. After he had eaten a portion of the salad, he found pine nuts buried hidden under the lettuce. What should have been a relaxing and slow-paced meal became an anxious waiting game to make sure that we would not have to give him his Epi-pin and take him to the ER. Thankfully, since he did not actually eat any of the pine nuts, he did not have a reaction. However, in spite of this - we were not offered any kind of compensation from the manger. So our over $400 dollar meal was not only unpleasant, but decidedly stressful and almost life-threatening. We will never eat here again and I would not recommend it to anyone who has food allergies.
We showed up at 8:30 (ok 30 minutes before close is a little annoying i can admit) but we walked up and the hostess (Madison I think) literally told us that we wouldn’t be served because the people in the back “had a hard day” (basically we were turned down because they were lazy). The place was DEAD. It was just me and my sister and we ONLY wanted dessert- Last time I checked, you're supposed to serve people who come in. Not turn them away for so good reason. We were pretty understanding, but very disappointed and definitely are not gonna come back.
Literally the WORST and MOST EXPENSIVE dining experience ever! Early birthday dinner at The Melting Pot - Addison - I'm so embarrassed I recommended it to my friends! Reservation was for 5:30, Saturday night. When we arrived, the bartender was bartending and hosting. Little wait to be seated. Didn't think anything of it. She mentioned she was getting off in 20 minutes. IT TOOK 45 MINUTES FOR EACH ROUND OF DRINKS! IT WAS OVER AN HOUR WAITING BETWEEN EACH COURSE! THE MANAGER WAS HOSTING AND BARTENDING AND RUNNING! (We were literally eating heated fondue before we even received just a damn tea) It's $100+/person. I've had better service at Chili's...... A server brought food, asked if anything else - we said our drinks we ordered 45 minutes ago (we had been timing it at that point). She snapped at me they had 4 people walk out (including the bar tender who had literally just said her shift was ending) and 2 people get fired, so they're short staffed. Well ma'am, that sounds like a toxic work environment and also YOUR PROBLEM not mine (and a lie, because her shift ended - lying to my damn face - I'm paying you to treat me like an idiot and talk down to me). My meal price didn't decrease because you can't offer proper service (in fact, my friend returned her meat because it was discolored). If anything, when I made the reservation, they should have said they couldn't accommodate it. We ordered drinks for with our dessert. 45 minutes later I went to check on the CUP OF COFFEE.... "We don't even make coffee" WOULDN'T THAT HAVE BEEN NICE TO KNOW 45 MINUTES AGO?! They gave us our bill. Full cost. I'm never one to ask for anything free, BUT I WAS NOT PAYING $750 + tip FOR THE WORST DINING EXPERIENCE I'VE EVER HAD. I went back to the manager, she told me she was told not to discount it (she's the manager, who's telling her?!) I told her that experience was unacceptable. SHE ARGUED WITH ME! Our server literally had to tell her to stop arguing with us about their staffing issues. Here's the deal The Melting Pot - if you want quality employees, pay for quality employees. You want people to have a pleasant dining experience? Don't create a toxic work environment for good staff! How dare you ask people to spend hundreds on a meal with less service than fast food! I'm so embarrassed I took my friends their (their first visit). I will never return. That was literally my worst dining experience ever (and for my birthday)! Our server was wonderful. We tipped her thru zelle & told her not to tip share with people that ruined the experience. She apologized profusely. She's only been there 2 weeks and was so embarrassed. Lord.....
It’s the first time we’ve ever left a restaurant before dessert! We got there early for our reservation, but was still seated 15 minutes late, even though the restaurant wasn’t close to full. The bartop we waited at was sticky and it was the poor bartenders first night working there and was very lost. We overheard one table that it took an hour to get their drinks. The first round of food was just “okay”, as it didn’t seem very fresh. Then my fiancée found a hair in her salad. The manager took it away and said we would be comped for it. Then we are more than half way through our entree and I found a BUG on a potsticker. We call the manager over again to show her. She quietly goes “OMG”, takes the plate and walks away. She comes back and says she will comp our whole meal. We told them we were leaving and wasn’t going to stay for our dessert 😬 Only good thing we can say was our waitress was nice, so we made sure to give her a tip.
