1st timers, for early dinner before 6pm. Starters of Deviled Eggs, and Pimento Cheese with seasoned crackers; both very good. Chose The Hot Dang sandwich, The Aristocrat, and Whistle Britches. Side of 3 Mac-N-Cheese. The Hot Dang is named appropriately! All very good, well seasoned. We will return.
Whistlebritches! I was skeptical at first, but one bite of a chicken tender made me a believer. Whistlebritches clearly uses both buttermilk and honey butter for the breading. The skillet cornbread is sweet yet spicy, and the Chicken Benedict was presented beautifully. The pancakes are truly underrated; they only appear on the menu in one combo plate. That's a shame because they are so good I didn't feel like I even needed to add syrup. Whistlebritches offers a full bar, and our carafe of White Cranberry mimosas was a classy touch of crisp sweetness. The building itself was adorable, offered easy parking, and is handicap accessible (although it was very crowded).
Chef Omar Flores is dishing out comfort food with a Southern spin and making some seriously crispy fried chicken at Whistle Britches. The Hot Dang is their Nashville-style hot chicken served on thick Texas toast, with cool dill ranch and house-made pickles. Their chicken and waffles are served with a drizzle of jalapeno hot honey, house-made sausage gravy and a wedge of watermelon. “That’s wrong in so many ways that it makes it right,” Guy said of the dish
We decided to try a new restaurant for lunch the other day while in the area visiting a client. We quickly searched Google to see what was nearby and came upon this restaurant called Whistle Britches. We are so glad we decided to give them a chance, as the restaurant's exterior didnt seem very exciting. However, once inside the Atmosphere was fun and very inviting. My wife decided to order based upon photos of a chicken sandwich that she she saw online, the Don Chingon, while I went with our waiter Rodolfo's recommendation, their Ma's Meatloaf. It came out within 5 minutes of out ordering we recieved our food, and my photos below cannot describe how great it all was; and how large the portions were. We immediately had to split both of our meals into to-go boxes to take home for a later meal.
The Whistle Britches sandwich has great flavor - the chicken and biscuit have a great combined flavor together. The regular side of chips was substituted for macaroni and cheese and it was fantastic! There was so much cheese! I’ve been here for brunch before and it’s absolutely great, the waiters are very knowledgeable and great at their jobs, and the food makes for great brunch!
We loved the food so much. Very much made with southern charm & love. The food was so good, cannot emphasize it. They also give pretty big portions. Our server was so sweet & came with our food very quick. The place is very open & has a lot of natural sunlight, and has a little patio area as well. Decorated with a lot of southern charm.
This place is something special. Maybe the best chicken fried steak I've ever had. The drink menu is very unique and flavorful and the deviled eggs are just incredible. The staff is top notch. We took a party of 10 on a Monday evening around 7pm. We we're enjoying the food, drink and atmosphere so much we didn't realize it was 930pm. The amazing thing is they close at 9pm and hadn't said a thing to us about leaving. If I could give 10 🌟 I would.
Brunch: 11 AM to 3 PM Sat and Sun The brunch options on this menu are astronomical. From tacos to waffles to toast to fried chicken... I need to come back and try it all! I picked the chicken benny, which has an open-faced biscuit, fried chicken, pimento cheese, soft poached eggs, and a Hollandaise- ALL MY FAVORITE THINGS. The portion and aesthetic was fantastic. The food came in so fast yet it was warm and fresh, and the mimosas were 💯. This location went above and beyond my brunch expectations! Other recommendations: Garlic butter fries is a great side to split with company! Bonus: Especially LOVE how COVID friendly they are with outdoor patio dining options and a QR code menu.
Firstly, our server, Big T, was excellent and I would recommend asking for her by name. She was extremely friendly and accommodating. The atmosphere was inviting and had a hipster vibe. There was live music as well. The chicken oysters were crispy and succulent. The Don Chingon had an absolutely massive piece of crispy chicken and tasted perfectly creamy with the guac contrasting the caramelized onion to make a great dish. The Love Me Tender chicken tenders aren't anything special but the biscuit it comes with is silky and decadent. The hot dang is the perfect balance of sweet and sour with just the tiniest amount of heat to give it a great zing. Last but not least of the main dishes the chicken and waffles is worth it in every way, an absolute must order. Any of the sides you pick you will not be disappointed. Both the Mac and the fries are delicious! Finally the biggest standout here are their varieties of sauces. From 4 different hot sauces to their whipped butter and apricot jam or their mixture of syrups and dips. Overall this place is amazing!!
Whistle britches Nashville hot sandwich was not what I was expecting... It was better than I thought! First off, it didn't have a top bun, which forced me to grab the knife and fork and go to town. You have to try the biscuits, they're perfectly fluffy and warm, and the mango jam and homemade butter is an exceptional topping. This is not your nickel-and-dime chicken place, you're looking at $50- $80 for 2 people including an appetizer.
Came in around 11 and it wasn’t busy at all. Decided to sit on the covered patio, which felt really good considering how hot Dallas has been. I got the pitcher of strawberry basil mimosas to drink and ordered the Hot Cakes & Tenders. Both were very appetizing!! Server was great as well
Everything I expected. I visited the Plano location a couple weeks ago and the Dallas location was just as good. I took my mom and niece to brunch here and we were treated well. The food was delicious and service was good. We arrived about 20 minutes before our reservation time and they were nice enough to get us a table immediately. I ordered the chicken and waffle and mom ordered the hotcakes and chicken. We had the biscuits with jam as an appetizer and OMG. Absolutely wonderful and very filling. Can't wait to go back
Our server Jasmin was pleasant and attentive...The food was great and to order! The bar was well stocked! They had Blantons and Four Roses in their arsenal....The atmosphere was cozy and inviting! But again, the food did not disappoint at all! Neither did the White Cranberry Mimosa with Vodka!
LarderRoom...Whistle Britches in Dallas, TX. First time here and couldn't decide on one thing, so we ordered them all! -Chicken N Waffles: Belgium Waffle, 4 crispy chicken Tenders, jalapeño cane syrup and honey Butter. -Pickled Jalapeño Pimento Cheese: with pepper jelly, southern pecans and seasoned saltines. -Fried green tomatoes: cornmeal battered, with remoulade and bread n butter okra. -White Corn Homestead Mills Grits: Roasted poblano Chile, white Cheddar and Cilantro. It was so freaking awesome. We will be back. Thx Lou!
Wow where to start? I seldom write reviews but I just had to the minute I arrived home after such a delicious meal. The service was impeccable, from the moment we arrived we were warmly greeted and seated. Our waiter got our drinks expeditiously and had great suggestions. The Sir Mix A Lot chicken is not to be missed but man those grits were legit. The tenders, smashed burger, all were 10/10. Sadly we had to leave early but not without taking dessert home with us. It’s the only picture I took so I’ll let you be the judge. Tres leches cheesecake and s’mores pie, amazing. Great ambiance, lots of parking, clean restrooms, we’ll be coming back for more.
The food was amazing! The appetizer called Ho' Cakes was really really good. We have never tasted something like that. Definitely an interesting taste to say the least. And the chicken and waffles were spectacular. The place is very clean and the service is on point. They have a wide variety of beers and overall it was an excellent experience. Looking forward to revisiting this place!
Whistle Britches is always great for brunch. The portions are huge so you may want to share. My wife and I usually share the chicken and waffles but this time we each got the whistle britches sandwich with a side loaded potatoes and mac & cheese, bacon (extra crispy), and 2 eggs. I also recommend the hazy IPA or mimosa / frozé.
This place has blown my mind. I mean the food was absolutely tremendous. I kept asking myself why I haven't heard of this place. I will gladly tip my hat to the kitchen staff because the food was delicious and the atmosphere was just absolutely welcoming. Thank you guys, I will be back soon to try every item on your menu. BTW, I had the tender and hot cakes and oh my gosh, that plate had my taste buds tingling. 😋
Basically I love this place. The chicken is absolutely amazing....but the biscuits.....oh Lordy the biscuits. Better than my dead grandmas....sorry gma! The honey options on point, the butter wonderful, and the jams just off the charts!!! I really enjoy the chicken tenders...hard to get away from them. The sides, while a la carte, are totally with it! The porch is like sitting out on an old country porch, really like to relax and take my time at a place like this. The service was excellent, the place was clean. Don’t forget the parking in the back. My daughter likes this place so much she’s gonna make whistle britches all over the country when she becomes president. She’s going to visit everyone to make sure they are in order...if not she’s gonna get Gordon Ramsey on the line because they have to be perfect. And this location is!!!!
It was such a great experience, the food not only appeared looking great, it tasted very good. My wife had the Chicken & Waffles, I chose the Whistle Britches, we had the Pickled Jalapeño Pimento Cheese and as a side we had the KungPao Brussels Sprouts. The server was pleasant, kind and had good suggestions. Great ambiance!
This was my first time coming to a restaurant known for its fried chicken in Dallas. I came here with a group of friends because we wanted to find a good brunch spot after our hike. We had a dog so we grabbed a table on the patio which was really spacious. Fortunately, it wasn’t too cold and the sun was out so it was a decent day. The waitress provided a dog bowl for water, and after asking what menu items would be available for the dog (she) was provided a grilled chicken breast. I ordered buttermilk biscuits for the table that was accompanied by honey + butter. Our table also ordered a few drinks - Frozen Caramel Apple Sangria and Long Island Iced Coffee. I split my meal with a member of our group and we got Challah French Toast and a Chicken Benny. The Buttermilk Biscuits were served pretty quickly, and you could tell that the biscuits were very fresh. It was very buttery, dense, and went along really well with the honey + butter. Everyone at the table enjoyed it. I had the Caramel Apple Sangria. It probably wasn’t the best idea to get a frozen drink with it being cold, but I still enjoyed it. Honestly, I couldn’t taste the caramel or apple, which was a little disappointing. Maybe the dried apple ring and cinnamon stick were supposed to help with that. The sangria in itself was good though. The Challah French Toast was thick. It was topped with pecan streusel, syrup, powdered sugar, and fresh berries (strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, and blackberries). The French Toast was quite sweet, which was expected. There was some vanilla whipped cream on the side, but that wasn’t necessary. The Chicken Benny was perfect. I loved the crispy chicken and it was juicy. The batter was amazing and provided a slight sweetness. The pimento cheese was added on top of the biscuit and went great with it. Before I ate it, I cut the soft poached egg and let the yolk drip down. The mixture of flavors was quite amazing. If anything, I recommend getting the Chicken Benny and Buttermilk Biscuits. The other members of my table ordered the Tacos Por Favor and enjoyed it too.
We went to Whistle Britches on a Friday night and to our surprise it wasn't as busy as we thought. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, Whistle Britches is always on point. The drinks are always good, our server Osvaldo was very attentive and the food 🤌🏾. Give them a chance, they're at the corner of Frankford and Preston, you can't miss them. Don't park next door, they have signs everywhere letting you know not to park there.
I started with the biscuits, honey butter, and jam, and they were incredible. Flaky and fluffy, but still dense, in the best way. The honey butter was also fluffy and the jam was fresh and delicious The chicken and waffle were even better. The chicken was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside and the waffle was cooked perfectly. Service was great and I will definitely be back
Every time I try something new at this place, I fall more in love. Today, on impulse after working all night I tried their chicken & waffles with jalapeño syrup as a to-go order. I had kind of a bad work night and this actually lifted my spirits and helped me relax. What an amazing meal that was. More people should know about this place, and there should be 100 of them, I hope it exists for the rest of my life.
We went on a Sunday around 2pm and left around 4:30pm. That’s a testament to how great the atmosphere is because we were able to eat and vibe and not feel rushed! There wasn’t high traffic that day at that time (it was also memorial day weekend- so maybe people were at cookouts) and the food was great. My table had Chrissy who made sure we were informed and taken care of. It was a happy brunch. I had the French Toast and loved the pecan drizzle as well as their HUGE biscuits, and amazing honey sauce.
This is such a fun place with great food and drinks! Had the fried chicken with potato salad. The chicken is crispy, juicy, and tasty! Even the wing was huge! The triple mac and cheese is creamy with a mild heat topped with crunchy panko. And the biscuits, amazing with the pureed strawberries on top! Great place to eat and hang out.
This place has great food at a good price! We had the whole chicken and it was great! They make two hot sauces and they both add a lot of flavor to the already good fried chicken! Then the biscuits are the best I've ever had! The fried green tomatoes were a good appetizer and they have a lot of cool drinks! I highly recommend this restaurant
This place has delicious offerings. It's been consistently high quality every time I've gone. This time in particular, I tried the “Deviled” Farm Eggs, Homestead Mills Grits with Gouda Cheese and Hatch Chile, and the restaurant's titular Whistle Britches plate. The servers are also very cheerful!
First time here, dined at lunch time on a Friday. The place has a great atmosphere and was about half full during our visit. We ate at the bar and the bartender provided us awesome service. We had the fried green tomatoes, the bacon cheeseburger with fries, and the chicken fried steak with whipped potatoes and green beans. Everything was cooked perfectly and seasoned very well. Food was definitely scratch cooked, no canned green beans, frozen hamburger patties, or instant mashed potatoes here. We will definitely be back. Next visit we will try the chicken pot pie and the chicken and waffles!
The biscuits were to die for!! It was served with homemade peach jam and honey butter. I’m always satisfied with honey only but the jam was a game changer and so delicious. The chicken and waffles were great and it was a big portion. If we come back to Dallas we will definitely come back! Nice atmosphere too.
Went on a Friday around lunch time with friends and had a nice first visit! The service was pretty quick for lunch and got our food sooner than we expected. The portions for food were great and we left feeling full long after. Just a minor thing is that the background music was just a tad too loud and made conversation a bit difficult 😅
First time and we loved it. The name WHISTLE BRITCHES Made me want to go try this restaurant out. It's too hot right now but they have a DJ when the weather is cooler they have lots of outside seating..... Love the diner look inside. Next time I'm going to buy me a tee shirt they sale there. Give them a try. The chicken tacos were great. Ohh and the street corn is totally awesome The best I had yet. My husband had chicken and waffles... There was nothing left on his plate. He said it was all delicious. They have a really good batter on their chicken. Also I love their plates serving plates. Very pretty. We will definitely be back. Thanks whistle britches.... Keep up the good work
This is a fairly good restaurant. The wait staff is always friendly, and the food is always hot and fresh. The restaurant has a nice and chill atmosphere for dinner. Of course, their chicken sandwiches and chicken and waffles are delicious. They also have a few other dishes that are not what you would usually get at a regular chicken restaurant. Definitely recommend.
Some of the best chicken I have tasted. This place lives up to expectations. We tried to go on a Sunday 2+ hr wait so reservations are highly recommended. We decided to wait to go on Monday during their happy hour. Still a lot of traffic but no wait. Servers were very friendly and accommodating. Would highly recommend.
Whistle Britches is located on Frankfurt and Preston, next to one of my favorite places to go for weekend coffee and breakfast. I would always see it and say it looked interesting. It definitely was! Came for dinner and instead just ordered a lot of appetizers and side plates as they all sounded so great. And they did not disappoint. The coleslaw, hush puppies, pimento cheese tray, grits, fried green tomatoes, and potato salad were all so, so good. Tried them all - craving them today. I’ll be back soon. Oh yes, did I mention they have a great patio?
Had a nice dinner. The Hot Dang (spicy chicken) sandwich was recommended and it was good. The cornbread was also tasty. I thought the coconut cream pie was just OK and wouldn't recommend it. Thickest crust I've ever seen on a pie and it wasn't a great crust. Overall, I enjoyed dinner and was glad I tried it. It's a bit heavy for me to eat regularly but tasty enough to add to the list of hot spots.
Whistle Britches is awesome! Excellent food, great service and the atmosphere at this Dallas location is incredible! Now, they are known for their chicken dishes - the tacos are simply the best…and so are those chicken and pancakes - but I also tried the smash burger and that was great too! Very good sweet tea and biscuits too.
Casual setting, friendly staff, ample seating in booths, at tables, at the bar and outdoors when it's not blazing hot. It's chicken-based southern comfort reimagined with large servings. Definitely be mindful because although everything looks good, you most likely won't be able to finish more than one dish for sure. It's very good and we were absolutely happy with everything that came out for us. If you request a side of fries, the amount is enough for a group of 3-4 people comfortably, so unless you're in a food competition, share. I'll be back to try more!
Came here for a friends birthday dinner. I had never really heard of this place and honestly I’m upset that I didn’t come here sooner. The pickled jalapeño pimento cheese was amazing! 10/10 - I also ordered the love me tender and this was a huge portion and honestly really good, the biscuit was huge and good. The potato salad was ok not my favorite. Waitress was very nice and attentive. Friends ordered the chicken and waffles and the hot dang, they both loved their food also.
This is a solid brunch pick, you can’t go wrong with the Chicken N’ Waffles and the Three Cheese Mac. 🤤 The Pickled Jalapeño Pimento Cheese is pretty good, and the deviled eggs are decent but you could probably do with them. I feel like we all liked the Buffalo cauliflower and corn fritters, but my minds a little fuzzy on those. Overall, a great pick, service has been good at each visit and the foods always hot and fresh.
I was visiting from out of town. They did not disappoint. Pablo was a great waiter. He was attentive to our table. We enjoyed sharing appetizers. You can share each one: buffalo cauliflower, deviled eggs, and jalapeno cornbread. Eggs were slightly harder than I am used to. Biscuits were dry. I ate it later after eating it up at home with honey butter and their jam. Yummy.
I am definitely coming back! I appreciated the customer service. The buffalo cauliflower was delicious! And the Mexican street corn 🤤🤤🤤🤤 The chicken and biscuit was alright. I LOVE fried chicken and to me, the batter wasn’t as flavorful. The biscuit was a bit hard. The mashed potatoes taste like butter (which was not all the way bad but could use seasoning.) Otherwise, it was good nonetheless.
It's a shame this place seems to be overlooked. The C.F.S. was beautifully seasoned and put together. Make sure you order some extra gravy though. The beans are seasoned with rosemary&thyme. The Happy Hour is Monday to Friday from 3-6pm. I can only recommend the Killer Bee. It has a nice strawberry puree flavor and quite a kick. I love sitting on the patio, there's plenty of shade under the scorching sun. The servers are always friendly and helpful. Such a treat to go here!
I’ve come back to say I’ve been coming here every weekend for months now and I love this place and the staff. Super reliable always. Reviews are definitely trustworthy! The inside looks like a modern diner really nice lit and nice atmosphere nice staff. We had the Hot dang & chicken fried steak and it was delicious. Really great surprising restaurant! Highly recommend!!
OMG! I came here for the first for Saturday Brunch . From the time I walked into the door, the service was AWESOME! Our waiter Ryan was AMAZING! He was attentive and funny! Great sense of humor! The food was DELICIOUS! I had the Chicken Tenders with pancakes! I had them dip the tenders in the hot sauce they use and it was AMAZING (thank me later)! Y’all gotta try this place!
We had a wonderful experience at this quaint location! Our server was friendly, attentive, and provided excellent suggestions. He ensured our orders were correct and fulfilled all our requests. The dishes, as shown in the photos, were visually appealing, and the flavors were outstanding. We look forward to returning to this restaurant for lunch again.

Ordered the chicken fried chicken, which was not listed on the menu but suggested by the server. It came with green beans but switched them for the brussel sprouts. Chicken fried chicken was good. The brussel sprouts were good but had a strange aftertaste. Portions were very large, and I took home about 1/2 of the meal. The strangest thing was that the brussel sprouts tasted much better at home, which made me wonder if the aftertaste was related to the cast iron dish they were cooked in? The staff were fantastic. We ate at an off peak time about 2pm. A few other patrons in the restaurant at that time. The temperature inside the restaurant was too cold while the A/C was running. It had such force that a plant inside the restaurant looked like it was sitting in front of a fan. I noticed other patrons getting cold while the AC was running. Almost every meal on the menu was $20+ which seemed high, but the portions were very large, so considering I had enough leftover for dinner. I would not eat here if you were trying to lose weight. It's the perfect place for people who like strong A/C and a lot of good food.
Very cute and clean restaurant. Service was amazing. Very friendly and fast Service. Food was fresh. My husband loved his breakfast sandwich. ( came with egg, sausage, arugula, and some kind of sauce). I ordered the 4 chicken strips with potato salad. All very good. Not a fan of their jelly of the day, or their bbq sauce and honey mustard. It was just very different. Tea was amazing. Fruit bowl was great as well.. but you cant go wrong with fresh fruit.
Enjoyed the outdoors seating/patio dining. First time at this location. Most of the meal options are chicken but this time I tried the meatloaf. It’s served with mashed potatoes, green beans, and onions. Overall flavor good although the sauce was almost too sweet for me. Like the flavor of the meatloaf itself better than the glaze.
Whistle Britches has a fun, eclectic atmosphere with a unique menu and great service. I had The Whistle Britches sandwich. The chicken had a good flavor and a nice, crispy batter. However, the biscuit wasn't soft and slightly dry. The fries also were soggy. Although I was not completely satisfied by my dish, I will return and try it out again.
If you love chicken you will love this place. My girlfriend had the chicken & waffles and I had the Don Chingon with a side of the Mac n Chess. It was very delicious and they give you a pretty good serving I was full by just the burger. My apologies about the pictures forgot to take them till mid way. They also have a pretty good selection of draft beer.
This was my first time and I really liked it. But this place does mainly focus on chicken so if you come expecting another choice of meat then you’ll be disappointed. I did come here expecting to have brunch but their menu wasn’t very diverse and served more lunch style meals. They serve very big portions (definitely couldn’t finish our meals and could’ve just shared) and have many side options which you can choose from for an up charge. We tried their happy hour Moscow mules which was really nice and light. For food, we tried the hot dang with garlic butter fries and the pit master with the honey soy brussel sprouts, these were the best Brussels we’ve ever eaten! Our friends tried the chicken tacos and the whistle britches sandwich and they liked their meals too.
Had dinner at Whistle Britches tonight and the food was very good. Everyone really enjoyed all the appetizers and entrees. The biscuits were really good, not the best I've had but really good. I thought they were under baked personally. As for critiques; the mac and cheese was way too thin for cheese sauce, it was more like a gravy. Didn't stick to the noodles which were the spiral kind and just doesn't work for me. I also thought the shabby chic design was way over done, so you have to be into that. Our server was good, but not great. I thought it was a way too stressed and rushed and they all looked a little frazzled. The fried chicken was mixed for me. The batter was great as far as taste and texture but it started to come off as dinner went on. Also some of the white meat was way too over cooked. It was hard and dry on some pieces I had. Great flavor and good sauces, particularly the Korean sauce.
I liked this place a lot. It was very southern-cute and our waitress was amazing. The cocktails were tasty and very strong. I got the watermelon margarita and my friends got another drink with blackberries (it was named a something something mule). I got a sandwich called the Aristocrat, which was quite good and my boyfriend got the Whistle Britches sandwich, which was waaaay tastier. We also all had a delicious biscuit for the table to share that came with a delicious butter and peach jam, I believe it was. Anyway, I recommend it overall. But it is pricey, at like $13 a sandwich and their menu is small (though very interesting).
This place is super aesthetic and the portions are GENEROUS!! They've been on my bucket list for months so we decided to stop by for brunch on Sunday. I'm not sure if their regular menu is any different, but they offer a nice selection for brunch. The host said the wait time for a table would be 15 mins, so we opted for bar seating. The bartender was very nice and got us drinks right away. It took a while to look at the menu since there was the only one available, so I let my friends go first. The interior is super cute, I love the decors and rustic vibe, and it looks like they have outdoor seating in the back as well. The menu was a little pricey. I was expecting $20 but some dishes went for $40. I had my eyes set on the chicken & waffles, and my friends decided to split the whole chicken. Sides are an extra add-on which brought my meal to $30 and theirs to $50. A little too pricey for my liking. I was looking if they had any tables to switch over since the bar smelled like Clorox and it was giving me a headache. Sadly, more guests came and the empty tables got taken. It took about 20 mins for the food to come out, and I was surprised at the portion size! The biscuits came first, and THEY'RE HUGE. Then come the side of garlic fries, 3-cheese mac n cheese, my chicken and waffle, and the whole fried chicken. Every plate was FILLING! The chicken tender had a good crunch and was VERY juicy. I love the syrup that came along-- it was sweet and light, so much better than your typical maple syrup. They had some hot sauce available, but none was spicy enough for my taste. The portion came with 4 big tenders and a normal size waffle, which isn't bad for the price. The waffle was soggy after a couple of photos and syrup, but I didn't mind. I also got their 3-cheese mac n cheese ($8), and that was super cheesy. I would say it's good if you're a fan of mac n cheese, but I probably wouldn't get it again. The garlic fries were okay, nothing special. It was soaked in oil which made it soggy. My boyfriend liked their biscuits, he said it was hard on the outside but soft and flaky on the inside. I really like the jam that they offer. I couldn't tell the flavor, it tasted like orange for me, but it was pretty damn good. Their whole chicken was quite big, and it was hot and crispy, even after 20 mins. My friends' fingers were getting burnt just holding the pieces up. The service was good as the bartender constantly checked in on us and refilled our water. When we asked for some jam and butter to go, he brought back 3 small containers of each, which is PLENTIFUL. Overall, I enjoyed the food, ambiance, and service here. It's a good place to take out-of-town friends for brunch, or if you're craving some juicy fried chickens.
I’m happy this place is close and available for some tasty food and drinks. They have some interesting cocktails, good local beers, and more on the drink menu. Food wise there is a brunch/lunch menu and a dinner menu. For starters, the corn fritters are so good. Crispy and full of corn with a nicely spiced sauce. I didn’t try the skillet cornbread on this visit but have in the past and it’s delicious. Perfect with honey butter and the honey available at the table. For lunch I couldn’t pass up the Love Me Tender with four good sized, crispy tenders, a giant biscuit, and potato salad or slaw. I was torn as I love them both but went with the potato salad. Good choice. It was creamy and mustardy with nice chunks of potato. The biscuit wasn’t as tender as usual but still good. Especially with some butter and honey mixed with their in house hot sauce. Service was good. She was friendly and food came out hot. Drinks were refilled as needed. It’s a good restaurant with many delicious items on the menu. Enjoy! 🍗 🍺
Discovered this place about 2 years ago. Always pleased with the quality of food and the service. The cornbread was good but a bit dense and a tad overcooked. Still very eatable and good flavor. The chicken was fresh as always and nice and crunchy crust. The biscuits are amazing. The potato salad is better than average. First time ever having visible grease on my plate. Not sure if it wasn't drained well before plating but it wasn't great presentation. My waitress was very attentive and courteous. The hostess was also very friendly. I did notice that other employees tend to avoid eye contact. In the past I experienced more of a teamwork environment. I'll visit again to confirm if it was an off night or if this is the new normal.
I’m happy this place is close and available for some tasty food and drinks. They have some interesting cocktails, good local beers, and more on the drink menu. Food wise there is a brunch/lunch menu …

Although a little on the higher end, this restaurant is great for it’s fried chicken and sides. They also have a lot of alcohol options and variety. It’s a little pricey but I think it’s nice to at…
Half a chicken and half a bottle of Wycliffe 3.99 champagne is not worth $50 very friendly staff though and no parking
Food is always delicious! I felt the 2 dollar upcharge for fries that tasted like frozen fries was a bit much. Especially with the plethora of jams and things that they give that I don't even eat. The tall skinny white female with short black hair was very rude, and acted as if she couldn't be bothered with me because I had a take out order, which is why I only tipped 5 dollars.
Meh, they have high quality components. The meals just don’t quite hit the mark. The colonel - good fried chicken, doesn’t come with enough gravy. The ham slice was super thin, not sure why they bothered there. I just wanted fried chicken with biscuits and gravy anyway so it was fine. Was a little sad that the Over easy Eggs were over cooked. And It comes with a side of potato chips (chips? Really?) or you can pay $2 for a normal side. cheesy grits are ok, they come with a white cheese on top. Not enough jalapeno and cheddar would have been better visually and for flavor. Last time I was here I tried the Benedict and that wasn’t to my taste either. The mustard and pimento cheese combo didn’t fit well together but it’s been a few years so maybe that’s changed. The killa bee was tasty! Would order that again. They do have a jalapeño syrup that no one would share so maybe that’s worth trying, and the fried chicken is good, I just haven’t found a setup I like.
Whristle Britches Dallas is a solid choice for brunch. A small mis-communication situation happened about the reservation, was resolved shortly. Parking here is not the greatest because there are only so many available slots for the restaurant. The food prices are very reasonable. Great service by the wait staff. They offer an outdoor and indoor experience. We originally had a table outdoors but opted for an indoor table because of the flies and bees. The chicken tenders were just okay. Don't expect well seasoned chicken here. The brunch options were kind of basic. We expected the shrimp and grits to be offered as a brunch option, but was actually on the dinner menu. The cocktails and mocktails were decent.
Everything was chicken based, but they do offer meatloaf and fried catfish! Food was decent, our waiter was great! Very patient guy. Fun first time experience, not sure if I would go back. I placed my order with the table and didn’t receive it till 15 minutes into everyone already having there’s. Which wasn’t a major issue because the table was willing to share.

Wanted it to be better - sandwich (fried green tomato BLT) was prepared correctly but the flavors ran together. Biscuits were dry. (Of all things!) and Mac & cheese was runny and tasteless. Really…
Some average to good fried chicken. The pancakes were huge and there are 3 of those, the tender came with it were good. Although the fried chicken on the chicken benny came warm-cold, which I don’t understand, did we got a dish someone canceled? Also the booth I sat in was so unstable, that I was interrupted by the people sat on the other side all the time, which was 100% not their fault. The dinning experience was just very not good.
