GoGogiri is a popular spot for Japanese cuisine, especially their large and flavorful onigiri. Customers rave about the friendly staff and quick service. Some find the sauces overpowering or experience inconsistencies, but overall, it's a highly recommended place.

Opinions de GoGogiri Dallas
The staff are amazing and very kind and patient it was our first time there and they were so patient and helpful. We went to celebrate my husband birthday and drove like an hour to get there and it was totally worth it ! We tried a good assortment of all the onigiri from the spam to the beef, fired shrimp and we even had a few of their specialty ones listed under the executive area It was all so good! We also had to tried their bao buns they were so soft and fluffy! And don't even get me started on they're dumplings they were so flavorful we regretted not getting more to quote my husband " these are the best dumplings I've had in my entire life!" We definitely recommend making the trip we loved all the decorations and the private booths overall 10/10 recommend and will most definitely return!
Food was great and held to my expectations! Jasmine and Diana were great! It was my first time definitely won’t be my last time! They helped breaker down the menu and told me some good recommendations. I got the president’s and shrimp with their beef dumpling. The katsu was juicy and crispy. Definitely recommend!!
My mom and I have been there twice so far and we've loved it both times, I've had the spam, shrimp, tuna, and beef onigiri so far and the karage nuggets and they were all excellent! Customer service is good as well, very friendly and willing to explain what the dishes are. I also had an incident where I accidentally made an online order on a day they were closed and when I called the owner answered was very friendly apologized and refunded me. The only complaint I really have is that I wish they were closer to where I live lol (North Dallas is kinda far for me) but it's definitely worth the drive! Highly recommend!
I've been coming to this place for a while now and the food is always super tasty. The staff are friendly and engaging. The restaurant itself is cute and quaint and most definitely a vibe. Made only better by the fact it's super close to where I live. Definitely a go to comfort food spot for me!
My first visit to this place was amazing, I forgot the guy's name that helped me navigate the menu as a first timer, but he was very helpful and patient with me as I took my sweet time to decide what to get ultimately I got one chicken one tuna onigiri and a spam musubi, and it was honestly the best and freshest food I have ever had. I can't wait to come back and try more items on the menu
First time here and really like it. Very filling an soo good! The wagu rice triangle and president one Oh my!! Yum. Will come again!! * update!! Yuuuummm I am so tired and this pepted me up. I paired it with ice cold diet coke! Done ready to shower and sleep. I have been moving all my stuff from one storage to another.
First time visiting GoGogiri - so good! BBQ pork bao filling was sweet and flavorful, bao bun was fluffy, scallion pancake was crispy and still warm when I got home, and the president onigiri (chicken katsu & wagyu bulgogi) was spicy, savory, and my favorite. So filling and delicious. Did I mention how big the bao was?
Everything was delicious and freshly made. My only critique is that the BBQ chicken bao didn't have enough filling to balance it from needing an additional condiment. However, the sauce that gave me for my onigiri ended up on everything besides my purple sweet bao because it was so good. I'm not a big sauce person at all, but this one really worked for me.
So delicious, deff new fave go-to place. Got the shrimp tempura onigiri, veggie dumplings and purple sweet bao bun😋😋 Felt a little rushed to order... it was my first time here so I wasn't sure what to get but other than that was pretty nice. Smelled amazing walking in. They had avatar playing on their tv💜
Best place for Onigiri, hands down. Heck, best place for a quick bite, hands down! Affordable prices, large portions, and the staff are incredible friendly (all fraternity brothers). Rice: so first of all, they use sushi rice for their onigiri, which is rice seasoned with a mix of sugar, vinegar and salt. Very lightly seasoned, which is perfect to accentuate the fillings of the rice balls! I'd eat a bowl of the rice itself! President Onigiri: a mix of Wagyu and Chicken Katsu; the fried chicken is one of the crunchiest I've ever had, and paired with the juicy ground beef and spicy mayo it was utterly transfixing. I usually try everything on my plate at least once before diving in, but I ended up finishing the President onigiri first, it was THAT good! Sweet, salty, crunchy, spicy, and oh so savory! Wagyu Onigiri: very juicy ground beef with a very slightly spicy mayo sauce. Extremely savory and flavorful on its own~ Beef Dumplings: I cant think of a way to improve these, otherwise I would put it here. They're the penultimate fried beef dumping, meaning it's all up to whether you like them or not. I prefer steamed, but the good news is that they told me they're looking at adding steamed dumplings soon! Reccommendations: For your first time, absolutely get the President or the Chicken Katsu Onigiri. When you do order, if you get a large onigiri (the mixed onigiri automatically are), make sure to grab chopstics because it absolutely will fall apart! Also, the large is deceptively large, so dont order too much! I'm a big guy, and I could barely finish my smaller onigiri after the big one! Overall, GoGoGiri is now in my rotations of places I will come back to as a regular patron. Cheap prices, great food, great service; the trifecta of amazingness! NOTE: I put 4 stars for atmosphere, but they told me that they are going to upgrade the place, so keep an eye out!
Our first visit to this location was fantastic! At first I was afraid the prices for each item were too high, but after tasting each flavor we got we were more than impressed with the meats and flavor profiles of each onigiri we ordered! The Hot Cheeto K-Dog was delicious and a great hybrid of different flavors! I would have only liked wider and deeper sauce containers and maybe a wider selection of dipping sauces. I would hope that the next step for this place is to also widen their drink options, maybe having a fountain soda? We were thirstier than the canned drink selection provided. Anyways, a fantastic find and we look forward to more
I've been wanting to try this place for weeks and finally got to try today ❤️❤️ 10/10 would recommend. Everything is super filling and worth the price 100%. Can't wait to come back! We tried the chicken and pork bao (pork is the big one) and the katau and wagyu onigiri! Got the sweet one too but haven't tried yet but I'm sure it's amazing as well ❤️❤️
I’ve seen the instagram ads, of which I fall for many. I go inside, the store is very clean! The booths are cutely decorated, and they have a couch with a tv for use also. Ordering was easy, with all the prices and sizes easily seen. I placed for 4 small rice balls and a scallion pancake. Gentleman taking my order was great at recommending! I didn’t wait long at all, watching them cook was very nice. I left the store giggling cause I was so excited! I spent 20 bucks, and am full and very satisfied. Great job!!
Oh man great place, very clean and nicely decorated inside. The staff were very kind and informative of what they have. They even sell pocky here which is a plus! Sweet bao bun and pork onigiri are my favorite! The dumplings and chefs onigiri are yummy aswell! Any time I come near here I shall be visiting! A huge recommendation to try it out!
It’s absolutely wild that we found yall on instagram and it ended up being some of the best food I’ve had in a while. We got the Fried shrimp onigiri, tuna onigiri, beef dumplings, and the kimchi mayo sando meal with some sweet and savory sauce on the side. They LOADED this food. All of the portions are amazing. The onigiri were MASSIVE, and packed with just as much flavor. The beef dumplings were high quality, crispy, and juicy. The fries, while a bit soft, were seasoned to the gods and the chicken katsu sandwich is phenomenal. When I say I have NEVER had chicken as soft and juicy as this before in my life. The flavors were all explosive but they never clashed, and with portions like this it’s worth the price. Will 100% be coming here again.
I've been putting off this place cause I misread the hour posting and thought they closed at 4. Finally caught the time and the money, and it was worth a wait. Wanna bring my other half here so she can see. The place is cute, well cleaned, and a great atmosphere. The large portion is incredible!!! Staff puts great care and effort into their work, and it shows.
Although the menu is a little confusing in the place, if you check the online menu it is explained for those of us who are new to this style of food. The service is very good, kind and friendly. We order and when they start cooking the place smells delicious and when you already have the food on your table it honors what we perceive through smell. We tried several things on the menu and everything was very tasty. See you soon!
If you're in Dallas and craving some island flavor, Gogogiri is the place to be! From their flavorful onigiri to the fluffy baos and hearty plate lunches, everything on the menu is an absolute delight. The onigiri is perfectly packed and bursting with flavor, while the baos are light, airy, and filled with deliciousness. Their plate lunches are satisfying and hit the spot. Whether you’re a fan of onigiri or looking for a new favorite dish, you gotta try out Gogogiri.
I can’t stop going to GoGogiri when I’m in the area now. They never seem to have the all I, there rice cooker was broken the last time I went, but I will likely return just for the chicken katsu bcuz it is so. . . Crispy and delicious. I have tried their onigiri, chicken katsu, mandu/potsticker/whatever, Mac salad, n some purple bao (idk what it was-I stole it off of somebody’s plate :) ), all was good.
Update 02/02/24 I came to try out the new Katsu Chicken sandwich, and I'm here to say it was amazing! The chicken had a delicious flavor, a satisfying crunch, and the wonderful topics of pimento cheese and coleslaw brought the chicken sandwich together 😄. The wagyu onigiri was delicious as always as were the beef crispy dumplings. The pork bao was different sadly but it was still good. Still a delicious place to go if you haven't already! We have been planning to come and try to the place out and we were not disappointed! The staff are very friendly and are able to answer any question you may have. I had the President and the Katsu onigiri and tried the Tim's and Spam one as well. My favorites are both the Tim's and the President one. I had their chicken bao and the purple bao as well. Both were very nice, full of flavor and not dry. If you're on the fence on visiting this place, you need to come try for yourself. One suggestion I can offer is look to have a small water dispenser for guests. Other than that, this place rocks and I can't wait to comeback!
Delicious onigiri!! I had the tuna and it was great! The young man at the register was really nice and the food was prepared quickly.
Huge onigiri! Got 3 to go for me and my friend to try. We got the wagyu beef, katsu, and the pork. We both agreed that we liked the katsu one the best. Nice crunch with the soft rice 😁. For the price of $6 and up, I thought the portion was generous. And I also loved that they make it fresh. We'll be back to try the other ones and their dumplings!
Started following these guys on IG a while back! Wife and I decided to check them out and grab some lunch! We tried the chicken katsu, the ceo, chef special and tuna! All onigiri was amazing! We also tried the chicken bbq bao bun..great flavor and the thing was giant! Grabbed the crispy beef dumpling as well flavor was on point and really crispy!! Couldn’t resist ordering the Large order on French fries, sweet and salty soooo good! We are glad we came across this place we will definitely be back to sample more of the menu!!
Amazing place!! You need to stop by and support this local business. Great food and great atmosphere. The president onigiri was my favorite the chicken and wagyu beef with a special sauce and onion straws for a crunch. I thoroughly enjoyed it. The onigiri was way more filling, messy but great food!
Ordered various items. Everything was made well and tasted great. The fries were ok. Went with a small group of people and everyone thought the food was good. It's a small place with lots of TV's. The atmosphere really isn't there. The restaurant is clean and the staff is nice. I will definitely return.
The people here are always very welcoming! The staff is very nice and accommodating if there’s a wait. They make sure our orders are done right. Every time we order the taste and quality is consistent. They also have the best fried dumplings I’ve tasted so far. The bao buns are always fluffy and warm. The onigiri always on point!
It was so good!! We ended up spending like $50 to try a lot of the food 😆 but it's very reasonably priced, we really had a great date night. This will be one of our favorites!! The whole vibe there is great and the people working tonight were super nice. Thank you so much for the amazing experience 🙏 Note: Please don't worry about the wait times as much, in our opinion it's worth the wait to eat this delicious food. You guys are all so sweet and considerate of our time but honestly we enjoy the vibe here 🫶 we're regulars and I hope the bulk of your customers who come and sit in feel the same! For those of you who can't just wait a moment and enjoy the atmosphere, just order online then! Its not worth being a Karen.
We ate here on a whim after seeing a reel on IG. I'm glad we did... I had the Wagyu Onigiri, which tasted amazing! I recommend starting off with 1 onigiri because they are decently sized. My daughter had the chicken bao, which was also very tasty. I would recommend 2 for a meal. Then we shared a purple Bao. We have never had Ube before and were pleased with how sweet it tasted. Overall we were very happy with what we ordered and will be back again!
WOW WOW & WOWWWW !! The reviews were not lying about this place. When I first walked in right at 5pm (when they open) one of the owner’s greeted me personally.. he was sooo nice!! Immediately took very close attention to how hard I was studying this menu & my silence. He came and talked to me, asked me if it was my first time here and recommended some awesome onigiri’s that fit my flavor profile. I mentioned to him while paying for my food, that I found them through TikTok! he was kind enough to give me my first onigiri on the house! After he personally came to hand me my food togo, I wanted to take a quick look at how amazing everything looked & my first reaction was WOW THESE ARE DEFINITELY TEXAS SIZED ONIGIRI! They looked amazinggggggg!! I tried the rice ball, spam onigiri, chef special, & the TIM. Honestly all amazing bites! I was in heaven, they’re soooo generous with the portion sizes, the rice was seasoned perfectly & the seaweed added the perfect crunch. I will 100% be back gogogiri so glad I have a restaurant devoted to one of my favorite foods , so close to me. 10/10 service , 10/10 food, 10/10 house music playlist 🎶 I will be back .
These are so good! My favorite is the katsu onigiri with Nashville sauce. I've gone here about 5 times and the katsu one is still hands down my favorite. I will say one time I ordered online thinking it would be more convenient but it took about 32min but they are still new so I get it.

my husband and I came to try this place. I really enjoyed the fried shrimp onigiri. I could taste the fried shrimp in every bite I had! We also really enjoy eating savory pork bao. It was soo delicious. It had an amazing flavor. We didn’t enjoy eating the musubi and crispy dumplings. It was very salty that we couldn’t eat it. Overall, I would highly recommend the savory pork bao and their onigiri!
Good place to come and enjoy good food. I came with my 2 kids spent about $30 on our food and drinks. Do not go in based on previous pics of food menu some sauces and items are no longer available. We had crispy dumplings which were the best I've had honestly. My son had the BBQ pork bao bun it was alittle small for his liking very sabory according to him very fluffy warm and good. I had Musubi that was good the combination of spam mayo rice and nori was great next time I'll try it with Nashville hot or Sriracha I tried it with GoGo sauce it was still good( I was expecting them to have hot Chilli sauce no longer served) my daughter had wagyu onigiri (not like the picture) still ok she didn't want to come back she does have a picky taste palette. She on the other hand was full portions are good. My son and I will come back again tho tasty good food.
I love the variety in the menu. I only tried the wagyu and katsu onigiris, but I would like to come back to try the others! Only complaint is that I thought the wagyu was a bit too salty, but I like the crunchyness of the katsu onigiri. My accomplice really liked the wagyu one and they are a sodium fiend. Also the large size is really big
I love onigiri so I was so excited when this opened! It’s a cute store with about 6 tables for dine in. I got to go 3 onigiri, Chefs special, Presidents, and Shrimp Tempura, and a pork bao bun. The chefs special was delicious but the rice was not well compressed so it did fall apart pretty easily which defeated the portability of onigiri in my opinion. All very good though, I’ll be back!
Overall this place is pretty good with affordable pricing. We tried about four different onigiris. By far the best one was the fried shrimp. Just beware they are pretty filling.

We usually come to this place and have a good time, today unfortunately was not one of them, first they got our orders all wrong, I asked the gentleman taking the order I wanted an S2&S3 combo he rang us up for just the entrees, I attempted to order the kalbi but they no longer have it on the menu, “should be taken off” if you guys no longer have it, so instead I ordered the Katsu since I’ve had it before and it was delicious, I was highly disappointed when I open my tray, yea “they don’t give out plates anymore” they give out styrofoam containers even if you eat in, when I tell you I opened my container to a dehydrated chicken with nothing but breading I was very upset, I will be going back but not anytime soon just for the Onigiri and Bao buns.
Amazing food best of the best! The onigiris are so delicious. Reason for 3 start too expensive for feeling full you have to spend $25+ they need to reduce the price or sell a family combos more affortable.
I desperately want to love this place but it was a bit off. I do understand that they only recently opened so they are still trying to find their groove and hopefully they are able to do that within the next month or so. As for my in-store experience, everyone that I talked to was really nice. I ended up ordering the Wagyu Onigiri and the Purple Sweet Bao Bun. Unfortunately, they were having some problems with their bao heater so they had to scrap that order. The guy I talked to was able to make me another onigiri to substitute the bao. He recommended the Katsu Onigiri, so that is what I went with. I did wish that I chose to do dine-in instead of takeout because I fully expected there to be protein stacked on top of the onigiri itself because that was how they were advertising it on Instagram. But as for the Wagyu Onigiri, I was a bit disappointed in it. The meat was slightly seasoned and mixed with looked and tasted like Kewpie Mayo. I thought that it was going to be filled with a lot of flavor but was proven wrong. As for the Katsu Onigiri, I actually enjoyed that a bit more. It had a good spice level, flavor, and texture. I would definitely get that one if I do end up coming back. I might come again after a couple of months to be able to get the experience that I was expecting (also, hopefully all of the items will be available by then). So I will give them a bit more time to fully settle and decorate some more before I judge them too hard. If my second experience is better, I will gladly edit my review!

I ordered the wagyu, the katsu chicken, and spam onigiri, but when I took my first bite all I tasted was some type of Mayo sauce? Sauces should compliment the meat not completely mask the flavor of it. I was very disappointed and tossed these in the trash. I had called in a phone order & was a first time customer & when I put in my ordered I wasn’t even asked what size I wanted, they automatically picked the large for me so spent 50$ on food that went in the trash. Some customer service like asking what size portion the customer would like would go a long way. Maybe today was an off day ? Idk, but I won’t be coming back.

My friends and I decided to meet here to each a snack before our bi-weekly D&D session. We were excited because we heard good things about the place and 2 people we knew personally have recommended this place. After arriving, 3 of us ordered and 1 of us got our food after 20 mins. The other 2 of us were waiting... and waiting... and waiting... until we realized that it had been nearly an hour since we ordered and we have not had our food yet. After asking about the wait time they apologized and soon came by our table offering only one of us a matcha latte for free. Which we did not mind too much, except that meant they took time away from making the food and made the drink instead. They continued to let us know they ran out of Nori. After an hour has happened they finally came by the table with only one of our orders, in which we let them know that we need some to go boxes to take it to go. Instead of leaving the food and coming back with boxes, they took the food and never came back. We finally got fed up after another half our and asked for a full refund on our orders, in which they said our orders were partially done. After asking how much longer it would take, they refused to give a clear answer. Overall, the customer service was horrendous, the wait time that should have been 20 mins was more than an hour, and not to mention for a weekend night, the place was dead. We were not the only ones asking for a refund that night, and not to mention how the employees did not even know they were getting online orders, forcing UberEats/Doordash drivers to wait in the lobby for almost just as long. Will never be coming back, and will never recommend this place to anyone.
It must have been an off day when I was there. My order of large karaage and 1 beef Onigiri took forever (35 mins). When I received my order the chicken was very inconsistent and not fully cooked. I came here because of social media, not sure if I’d come back.
