This was the best Chinese meal I have ever had. The experience began with the environment, which had a pleasant atmosphere, stylish décor, and was exceptionally clean. The service was excellent overall; The host could have been slightly more welcoming but it was ok. Our server was attentive and very kind. The food was outstanding made with fresh ingredients, well prepared, and beautifully presented. The balance of sweet, sour, and spicy flavors was spot on, exactly as authentic Chinese cuisine should be. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who appreciates well prepared Chinese food.
My wife and I split the beef and broccoli and general tso chicken. Great flavor combinations to order together - salty and sweet. Also great pork dumplings - and we are pork dumpling connoisseurs!!!! Fun music too. Definitely worth your while.
They were awesome, I was bring a treat to my 90 old mother who wanted Chinese food, the problem is she can’t have any spice. I ordered the Buddha delight, no spice with chicken and it was perfect. She really enjoyed the fresh veggies not overcooked, the tender chicken that I added and there was 0 spice. Thank for making it perfect for her.
We love Wok Star! One of our favorites is the Spring rolls! We always try to go at Happy Hour when they are 1/2 price! We especially appreciate good service and Ephraim was wonderful to us! They are always so friendly and helpful!
So happy to have found this gem of a restaurant. I’ve had a lot of the menu and have found everything to be very good. My wife and I order takeout from here so often the owners recognize me and my name! Usually always spice up my food, but it’s never too spicy. Highly recommended for fans of Chinese food.
I like this place. It’s in a cool area and the inside of the restaurant is unique. I feel like everything we have gotten is solid, usually a slight twist on the most authentic Chinese food, but that’s what they are, the dumplings, the soups, the entrees have all been very good.
Love this place. The food is amazing and the service is always top tier. My new favorite spot. I always get the sauce on the side by the way. And never order the side fried rice. If you love fried rice, order the house fried rice. It’s cooked fresh upon order whereas the side fried rice isn’t.
Brooke at WokStar is absolutely amazing. From the moment you walk in, she brings the perfect mix of professionalism, warmth, and attention to detail. She truly listens to what you want and makes sure everything is done just right. The service is always top tier, and the experience feels effortless and elevated every single time. If you are looking for someone who takes pride in their work and consistently delivers great results, Brooke is the one. Highly recommend.
Wok Star is essentially Premium Panda Express, and that's no insult. I love this place to death. The General Tso's sauce they make is super flavorful, the fried rice is loaded with that umami MSG taste, and the fried foods come out delightfully crisp. My personal favorites are the roasted eggplant and the fried cauliflower~
This was our second visit with my family (and my picky kids) and once again the food did not disappoint. The service is always great, and the manager even treated us to dessert and invited us to try the chocolate buns. My family and I need those chocolate buns back on the dessert menu because we absolutely devoured them! The portions are generous and always leave us full and happy. Overall, a great place every time. Highly recommend!
I love WokStar in The Hill Shopping Center. The food is amazing, and I come here several times a week for my lunch break with coworkers. Tony, the manager, and his whole team are incredibly welcoming and always recognize us and give us the VIP experience. Everyone is super friendly and efficient. We love sitting outside on their patio with the fans on. They always have the best music on, and my iced tea is always full (I drink ALOT of tea). I love you guys!!!!
I would give this place 5 stars just for the service alone! Katelyn was spectacular and made my visit all the more enjoyable with her bubbly personality and talkative nature. The spicy green beans were so flavorful and the pan fried pork buns are my favorite! I recommend Wok Star to everyone, and I can’t wait to come back!
It was my first time at this restaurant and I was genuinely impressed! The food was amazing—especially the Mongolian Beef with the spicy touch, it was absolutely delicious. The place is cozy and beautifully decorated, with vibrant colors and charming details that make it feel very welcoming. A big thank you to our server, Jessenia, who was incredibly attentive and guided us through the menu with great recommendations. Excellent service and a wonderful dining experience. Highly recommended!
Wok Star Chinese is my favorite Chinese restaurant in the DFW area. The food is always hot and fresh. I have not experienced anything soggy from this restaurant. Very flavorful, food and friendly staff. The drinks are amazing but I did not take a picture of any. I really like the crab Rangoon, but disappointed that it does not come with a lot of crab meat. The dumplings were delicious. The chocolate filling in my dessert puffs were amazing. I am a frequent customer.
When you first come in, you will be very skeptical about the food here because it is a mixture of many styles. Can you imagine a Chinese restaurant with a bar inside? And a disco ball? ! I have to say that this Chinese restaurant is better than many restaurants run by "real Chinese". I have rarely eaten such delicious steamed dumplings, steamed buns and noodles! We ordered scallion pancakes, vegetarian steamed dumplings, pork buns, chicken dandan noodles and eggplant. Its scallion pancakes are fried scallion pancakes, which are different from the scallion pancakes you usually eat. It reminds me of the taste of my hometown. The steamed dumplings and pork buns have the best crust I've ever had in all of Dallas. They're not too thick, they don't taste dry, they're just right. The filling seasoning tastes great. I also like the Taiwanese fried rice noodles. I don’t like the seasoning of the dandan noodles, but the noodles are really good. You can definitely taste the noodles as they are handmade. I will definitely come back to this restaurant to try its other dishes
I can't recommend this enough. I was a bit worried when I looked at the prices but the food is well worth it if not more. Huge portions with amazing flavors. Got the combo dumplings, the pork was my favorite, and the eggplant with garlic sauce. The eggplant was incredible! The sauce was so amazing and addicting. I want to come back to try their other items but it'll be so hard not to order the eggplant again. The chef in the back was having a great time making the noodles! You can go right up to him and watch him make them by hand. I'm going to try and make sure I have cash on me next time I go so I can give him a tip. Maybe even ask if I can record him doing it! It was so fun to watch.
1st time to eat here. Saturday night date with my wife. Fun decor and ambiance when you walk in. Josh was our server and did a phenomenal job helping with recommendations and answering our questions. We had an order of the Xiao Long Bao ($13) for our appetizer. Though these were some of the smaller sized ones I’ve had, their flavor was rich and texture just right. For our entrees, we had General Tso’s Chicken ($18) and Honey Walnut Shrimp ($22). Both the chicken and the shrimp were good quality products from a size and texture standpoint. They were, however, very heavily sauced which is more Americanized Chinese food. We ordered Chicken Dan Dan La Mian ($19) for our youngest son as he was at work. He said the flavor was delicious and was very happy with it. The owner stopped by and chatted with us for awhile. She has an amazing and inspiring immigrant’s story to share if you are interested. We found her to be warm, passionate about serving others and happy to be in the restaurant business. Overall, this was a good experience. We will likely be back in due time to try some of their other dishes.
This is a solid choice for Chinese. They offer a broad menu of American-Chinese classics, and most are excellent, flavorful renditions. Kung Pao Chicken and hand-pulled noodles are standouts. The atmosphere is fun and modern, and they have a nice little patio for fair weather days. Service is generally friendly and attentive. One of the better options around in what can feel like a sea of mediocrity. Great choice for a casual family dinner.
When I heard the name Wok Star, I was imagining bold, punchy flavors and tender, juicy meat, with the kind of kick and smokiness that's only possible when you stir fry over a ripping hot wok at fast speeds. What actually was served was a very average dish that'd be no different from a standard strip mall chinese takeout joint, made even worse by the fact that the taste here is catered to the pre health conscious American palate so everything just has bucketloads of sugar added to it - I felt a little lightheaded after finishing my General Tso's Chicken chicken because the sauce was pure sugar and lacked any umami or spiciness. At least the decor and service here is on point, if you just want a nice place to eat food with heavy sugar in it, this is your spot.
Got takeout and tried Wok Star for the first time tonight. Was very disappointed, unfortunately. Asked for fried rice with egg only, and it came with all veggies. Additionally, the chicken tasted like it was cooked 2 days ago and I about needed a steak knife to cut it. Don’t plan on going back anytime soon, especially since it was worse and costs more than Fortune House.
Ordered delivery on Uber Eats because they were having a buy one get one free promo on a lot of the dishes (got the orange chicken, and beef broccoli - sub beef for tofu). As I was eating my food, I thought it was pretty good… but then lo and behold, as I almost finished my dish, this large bug was hiding in my food. I couldn’t even finish it, I was so disgusted. Please work on quality control in your kitchen. I will not be getting any food from here ever again.
I believe this food is extremely overpriced! Seven dollars for two spring rolls is a lot. The fried rice was extremely dry and you can see by the picture…… and the vegetables had absolutely no flavor at all. First and last time I’m just sad that I wasted so much money. The atmosphere is beautiful. The restaurant is nice, but the food is not worth it.
