Delicious Ethiopia food! If you are in the hunt for the best Ethiopian food in DFW you just found it! We stopped in and were seated immediately by the very kind server. We ordered the Zil Zil Tibs which were tender and had great flavor with just the right amount of spice. We also had the Vegetable Combo which was great with all of the options being excellent. The restaurant is very clean and inviting and with the trip no matter where you are in town. Highly Reccommended!
📍Yenat Guada Ethiopian Cuisine -- Dallas, TX with My Friend! 🔥🔥🔥🔥 Yenat Guada is an authentic Ethiopian restaurant off Greenville Ave. in Dallas! We ordered the Vegetable Combo for two (My friend is very supportive of my vegan/ vegetarian journey! 🥰) It's a combination of house vegetable dishes which included: Red Lentil Stew (which was my fave), Split Pea Yellow Stew, Chickpea Stew, Green Lentil Stew, Lightly cooked Collard Greens and Red Cabbage! We ate everything with Injera which is an Ethiopian Flatbread! We also had the Ethiopian style Rice with Marinara Sauce. When I say everything was soooo flavorful and seasoned to perfection!! I actually can't wait to go back lol 😍🌱💯 We also tried their Ginger Tea and Herbal tea as well! #EthiopianFood #Injera #DallasTX #GirlsNight #Ethiopia
This place is a hidden gem . Went on a Wednesday after work and it was great. Food was delicious, served quickly, service was friendly, and the place was very well kept. The manager came out and checked in on us, even though it was empty, the place had a great vibe. I would highly recommend this place , they look like they can host larger crowds
The food at this restaurant is outstanding. My family and I here almost every other month, and the warm hospitality, on top of the great food, makes it one of our absolute favorites. It’s also a spacious spot, perfect for groups of any size.
The food was absolutely delicious! I loved the atmosphere and felt as if I was not in Texas. The male serve was polite and readily available. I ate my food so fast I forgot to take a picture. I ordered the veggie combo for 1. It was definitely enough for two light eaters. I gave a whole meal to take home. The lamb was flavorful and tender.
This little place is the best kept secret on upper Greenville! It may look a little rough when you first pull in, but it is a beautiful restaurant inside and the food AND SERVICE are outstanding! My dining companion and I arrived at an off time, and we were the only customers in the place. That was a lucky turn of events because we had a wonderful conversation about the food with the gentleman who was our server. He was exceedingly knowledgeable about the menu and it was the first time for each of us to have Ethiopian food. We ordered the vegetable combo and a spicy beef gravy dish called the Zil Zil Tibs. Here’s the thing: there are No utensils; instead you scoop the food up with stretchy, spongy, absorbent bread that gloms it up. The presentation was beautiful, the portions were huge, and the food was simply delicious! I don’t have a vocabulary to accurately describe the flavors, but everything was wonderful! Wow! I could eat some more right now! Highly recommend!!
This place is one of my favorite, go-to restaurants for Ethiopian food. When you walk in, the atmosphere is filled with a sweet incense aroma. The service was fast, and our waitress was very kind. The food speaks for itself! Fresh, flavorful, and soo filling. My dad and I shared a veggie platter for 2 with the beef tibs and we still had enough to take home. I will definitely be back.
This spot is legit if you want really good Ethiopian food. The shiro, a chickpea stew, was packed with flavor! Dipping the injera bread in it was a delight. Their shiro is a MUST order if you go. Trust me. The beyaynetu (vegetable combo) was so good. All the different veggies and lentil stews it comes with were amazing. The beef tibs were also great. The Ethiopian coffee was also good. The only thing I didn’t like was the mango drink. Too sugary and the fresh mango taste doesn’t really come out. The interior is really cool, too! Friendly staff and good service. I will totally be returning here for a second visit at some point to try other items, but I’ll definitely be getting the shiro again! If you want really good Ethiopian food in Dallas, you need to try this spot!
Delicious, fresh, huge portions and full bar! The the house special ribs are heavenly and come sizzling to your table which is a fun experience. The meats are perfectly medium rare cooked or raw tartar style (Ethiopian sushi) and delightful. The house ribs are sourced fresh as possible and vary in size from the market availability so I’d say the menu price can be expected as the minimum. The menu is in need of an update but because this restaurant is so genuinely Ethiopian it’s probably a bit of a language barrier to refresh the menu. Off menu you can find a full bar and specialty desserts like tiramisu, cheesecake and chocolate cake.
This was our first visit and first experience with Ethiopian food. We were seated right away, and our server made great recommendations. We enjoyed everything! I read the reviews on the ginger tea and was not disappointed. The tea was a favorite. The portion sizes of the entrées were large enough to serve family style. This was definitely worth the 30-minute drive.
Such a great first experience trying Ethiopian cuisine! Unique, relaxing, and immersive location with friendly and helpful staff that offered great recommendations. Very intentionally strives to share Ethiopian culture and language alongside the food; I purchased a fun little Amharic writing guide and word search as a neat memento!
I was a bit hesitant to drive across town to try out this restaurant, but boy am I glad I did! In order to get the full experience, one ought to dine-in here. Apart from the excellent food and service, their ambience is just perfect for that special date night, or a family get together. The place is spotlessly clean (I'm talking of the bathrooms too), has a calm atmosphere, and the food is top notch. You can't go wrong with this place if you want to try Ethiopian food!
What a great place! They are using all the caution possible during the Covid 19. Seating is ample hence its pretty easy to maintain social distance and eat peacefully. Customer service is warm and pleasant. The food's portions are big enough for sharing! We ordered the vegetarian platter for 2 but our family of 4 (2 kids) ate easily. The food was delicious with every item having its own distinctive flavor. Pretty pleased!
I usually head farther north when the craving for Ethiopian food hits, but since I was nearby, I decided to give this spot a try. It was… fine. Decent, but not memorable. I may be a little spoiled by the incredible Ethiopian restaurants I’ve frequented in Washington, D.C., Atlanta, and my reliable go-to in Richardson. The flavors here felt muted, as if my request for medium heat took a detour and ended up at mild. Still, the experience wasn’t unpleasant—just a reminder that some cravings are best satisfied where the spices tell their full story.
Visiting the restaurant after almost nine years. Tried Doro Wot and Lamb Tibs with injera. The flavors were ok and the difference in the quality was evident. The restaurant is spacious and well maintained. Plenty of parking is available. Service was fine with a few misses. They have a full bar with Ethiopian Honey Wine, which is a specialty. Pricing : Moderate
