What a great experience! My wife and I stopped by for dinner tonight and everything was spot on. We were greeted with smiles and hello's by every staff member on our way to our lovely booth. The 2 servers couldn't have done a better job. And to top it off, our meal was delicious!
Best beef tartar I can recommend. Amazing food experience, artistically designed and great ambiance to have a good time with the loved ones.
Fish tacos, bread and butter and the apple martini are all solid choices. Great happy hour, friendly servers and eager bartenders.
Wow! Happy hour made us so happy and amazed! This place is on another level with each dish so delectable. Best crab cake I have ever had, which was a huge portion, full of crabmeat with a crispy outer crust, enough for two to share. Fish tacos had a light thin flour tortilla with the crispest fish which was moist and tender, drizzled with a chipotle aioli. The short rib bao bun melted in your mouth with an abundant portion of beef, braised to perfection. Staff was attentive and friendly, very engaging and knowledgeable. Thank you to Brittany, Rafa and Massimo for your wonderful service! What an experience for our first time here! We are coming back this week for dinner. Back for dinner and the ribeye was cooked to perfection, it’s a baseball cut so no fat. Loved the wild mushroom ravioli too.
I happen to find this place by chance on PCH in Dana Point. ordered the sun kissed scallops and while waiting for my meal, the waiter threw a complementary loaf of bread on my table. Needless to say the meal was amazing but the bread is what made me take my wife back to try. Now anytime we are in Dana Point. We have to stop here! The cuisine is exceptional! Massimo and Austin, and all of the staff make you feel as if you’re at home without having to do the dishes. If you’re lucky enough to make it during happy hour, try the fish tacos! If you want an exceptional seafood meal in Dana Point, I highly recommend this place!
Had a fantastic experience dining at Whitestone. The service was exceptional, the ambiance was great and the food was very good! We ordered a host of appetizers and entrees, including the calamari, the shrimp, the Grilled octopus, the Chilean Sea Bass, the Grilled Artichoke, and the Hamachi Crudo. The Hamachi Crudo was our favorite, followed by the shrimp, and the octopus. Both the sea bass and calamari were good but lacked the wow factor (the sea bass wasn't as soft and wasn't as flavorful as what we've had elsewhere). The grilled artichoke was good but takes a lot of effort to eat. The complimentary bread was fresh and soft and paired perfectly with the butter. However, the two things that truly stood out were the desserts and the service. The butter cake, cookie and cream, and flourless chocolate cake were all breathtakingly delicious and the service was among the best I've had in recent times. All in all, it was a great dining experience and I'd highly recommend this restaurant!
amazing food, very hearty and filling. the burst of flavour hit all the right spot
We ordered the crab cake, filet, lamb, and cheesecake. The lamb and cheesecake were phenomenal. I also ordered a glass of Tuscan wine that was nice. Overall a pleasant experience.
Massimo is absolutely the server you went helping you out for your dinner experience. Everything we ate was incredible and I want to come back every time we travel to the area. We started with some cocktails like manhattans, mezcal old fashion, and a whiskey sour. Appetizers were raw oysters, oysters Rockefeller, steak tartare, and Spanish meatballs. Somehow we found room for entrees which were fish&chips, scallops and A5 Japanese waygu. The whole experience was phenomenal. Absolutely recommend

A fine, airy, delicious dinner experience. Food was great, wine list was terrific and everyone was very friendly
Wednesday dinner. Quiet, elegant dining room. White table clothes. Service was excellent from start to finish. It is a bit pricey. Will definitely be back.
We had a double Birthday celebration there & were in the restaurant's private but airy open ended room. Full windows on one side of the room looking out to their patio with a stunning fireplace ! Everything was impeccably done for us! The food well presented & delicious! Which Included 2 complimentary birthday deserts!
We went on a dead slow Wednesday night, but Wow. The food was incredible. I was very happy with the service, when I informed the server allergy he went above and beyond to clarify ingredients with the chef and me, which made me feel very comfortable. My husband (who is a chronic mumbler) wasn’t as happy with the service when he asked for “a spicy margarita with normal tequila instead of spicy tequila” I think the combination of his mumbling and a language/accent barrier got in the way and he received a VERY spicy margarita. They brought him a regular margarita as soon as we realized. So if you don’t mumble convoluted requests to your server, you should be fine. As for food, I stuck to multiple appetizers while my husband had the filet mignon. Everything was incredibly tasty. I had the grilled octopus, grilled prawns, raw oysters and we split some bread, a jumbo crab cake and Mac and cheese. Overall, I’m so happy we stopped in for dinner.
We had a great time. Fantastic sourdough bread with lava salt butter, and from there each course got better and better. They took reservations and had vegetarian/pescatarian options. Attentive staff. Outdoor dining with warm heaters.
Wow! I've driven by this place a million times and never stopped in. I've been missing out! The food was awesome! Starting with the grilled artichoke and finishing with the rack of lamb.... Really good. Our serving staff was very attentive and helpful. We will be back.
6 stars if I could! Massimo is a true gem of a human and that always takes care of me and my friends with the best service every time we come here! The happy hour is such a great deal, and I haven’t had one dish or beverage that has been disappointing. Always delicious, always consistent.
Great date night or even family night! its cozy and beautiful inside. The food and service was great! I'm dying to have more of their bread and butter, soo good!
My wife and I recently had our rehearsal dinner at Whitestone Restaurant and Bar, and it was an absolutely amazing experience! From start to finish, Nader and the entire team went above and beyond to make our evening perfect. The food was amazing, the restaurant itself is beautiful, and the service was truly A+ plus. Every detail was handled with such care and professionalism, allowing us to simply relax and enjoy this special occasion with our loved ones. If you're looking for incredible food, a fantastic atmosphere, and unparalleled service, you absolutely need to come here. Thank you again, Nader, for the amazing experience. My wife and I couldn't be happier with how everything turned out!

Food was good, with some improvements needed. We were a bit disappointed that bread and butter (usually complimentary at restaurants) was an extra $5 charge. The lobster ravioli was good, but definitely over salted. I enjoyed the big chunks of lobster that came in the center of the dish. The lemon sole was excellent, and a very generous portion. The fish and chips we were told were cod. However, when it came out it was definitely not cod. Probably sole or halibut as it was a much softer fish than cod. The breading on it was light, which was nice. Wagyu burgers were good and pretty standard. You really couldn't taste a difference with the wagyu meat. The fries were delicious and enjoyed by everyone at the table. For dessert we tried the cookie and cream, cheesecake and butter cake. The cookie was delicious, but it was smashed flat on the dish (intentionally). A thicker cookie where you can enjoy the fudgey-ness of the chocolate cookie would have been better. The butter cake was just ok. It was over baked and dry. Both desserts could have used a bigger scoop of ice cream. The one provided was kind of embarrassingly small. More ice cream would have definitely helped with the dry butter cake. The cheesecake was the best dessert of the 3. Not super dense and rich, but still delicious. Overall, we enjoyed our visit. It was a little hit or miss, but we'd definitely dine here again. Oh, and we were celebrating two anniversaries and aside from a "happy anniversary" from the hostess, our celebration was not acknowledged in any way. So that was a disappointment. Was hoping for something a little more special for my parents who were celebrating their 49th anniversary.

I was expecting more and found it was just a regular restaurant like Applebee's or Olive Garden. The front door had to be manually closed, my reservation had me at one table, and I was shuffled around to accommodate someone else. I expected more from the steak I ordered (meh), not vegetables came with my steak dinner, so the side order was $14 (unbelievable). I was placed in a 2 seater corner booth close to the front door after being moved, and walk-ins received better seats than my reservation. Let's just say, as a high level Google reviewer, this is one of my lowest marks. There is little to No chance I will probably return. And maybe not have the Hostess in a dress and dirty sneakers. I Do Not recommend this establishment for local or visiting patrons.👎🏾 Response from the owner an hour ago Dear Guest Anthony, We are genuinely sorry to hear that your experience did not meet your expectations. We strive to provide top-notch service and food to all our guests and deeply regret if we fell short. We appreciate your feedback regarding the seating arrangement and our staff's attire and will undoubtedly take these critiques into consideration for improvements. As for the steak dinner, we're saddened to hear it wasn't up to par and will address this with our kitchen team. We want every guest to leave our restaurant satisfied and we're sorry we missed that mark with your visit. We hope you might reconsider and give us another opportunity to turn your experience around in the future. Sincerely, Whitestone Restaurant & Bar Though I appreciate your response, but as the owner, your control is limited day to day. I believe it was the General manager who moved me and was less than cordial. As business owners we can become complacent and detached from our original purpose. Undercover Boss became popular for a reason and had heartwarming stories, but there were also some dark stories we don't usually speak about. The only suggestion I have is to pass out review cards for visitors and see if my assessment was accurate and adjust as you see fit. As a retired disabled veteran that has traveled the world and eaten in many countries, I always expect the best when I am at home. I wish you the best on fixing these issues. God speed!

The server was not paying attention to my table at all. We asked for a dessert menu, he brought the menu and left us hanging 10-15 mins without checking on us. He went to the bar and had a beer and chatting with his coworker. Also heard conflicts between servers, that was mood killing. The food was okay, not so special for the price we paid for.

I got here at 5: 45 with a group for dinner it was a preset meal that they were supposed to have ready. Is now 8:25 and we have still not had our entree. I don't really understand how restaurant this big keeps in business with service this bad. They either are understaffed, they ran out of food, or they just don't care. Not sure which it is yet but we will find out. Hopefully we're out of here before breakfast
