Opinions de Four Seasons Gourmet Chinese Davis
I moved about 7 months ago and this was our favorite place to eat in all of Davis. I live about an hour away and took that long drive tonight simply because the food here is top tier. They're always very kind, friendly and honestly the food is always fresh. This place will always have a special place for us. GIVE THIS PLACE A CHANCE IF YOU NEVER HAVE YOU WON'T BE DISSAPOINTED..!!!
Four Seasons in Davis has the best Chinese food in the entire Sacramento area. You can pay more to be seen at other places but, you will not get better food. The staff is great. Just take it home to eat or to the park for a picnic. The Kung Pao Chicken is worth the drive.
If you're just looking for some quick, delicious Chinese food at a decent price, these guys won't let you down. Their orange chicken will stay crispy all the way home, and no one I know has ever disliked their chicken chow mein. Egg rolls leave much to be wanted, though. Otherwise, just about everything else is good
We decided to try something new and they did not disappoint! 10/10 recommend for service and deliciousness of food. The service was excellent and when we said it was our first time she broke everything down for us. Nothing was too expensive and the food was amazing! We got Pot stickers which come with 4 huge sized pot stickers, chicken chow mein, and general chicken. Everything was more than enough to feed two people and have leftovers for lunch the next day. Super welcoming snd overall a great experience.
Great food. Good portions for the price. It's our favorite Chinese food place in town. We usually just get it to go. It's not a big location, so I wouldn't recommend eating at the actual location. Can't go wrong with the veggie chow mein, orange chicken, & chicken fried rice!
I have to say I was very pleasantly surprised with this place. I didn't have a clue it was there till I went in the gas station to grab a few things. When I glanced in, I figured it was just a typical gas station restaurant/cafe with corn dogs, burritos, pizza, etc. When I realized it was a Chinese place I was sort of skeptical. But the place was packed. Every time I drove by that week it was pretty busy. I decided to try it the last night in town. Still packed but I was served very quickly. Even though it was pushing 8 pm they still let me order off the lunch menu. It was freakin awesome! By far the best Asian/Chinese food I've had on many trips to Davis. Way more food than I could eat even for dinner, and the price was far less than anything else you'd pay in the area. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend!
Excellent chinese food at affordable prices. Our group of 5 had lunch plates (entrees with steamed rice). The Mongolian Beef was very good. It had a lot of onions, but that was okay. This dish is normally spicy, but we ordered not spicy and it was perfect. The Sesame chicken was very good as well. As the chicken cools, the sauce hardens slightly and kind of makes almost a candied-type texture so that when you bite into it, it's somewhat crisp before you get to the tender chicken inside. Wonderful! The Cumin Beef and the Curry Beef Brisket were both tasty, if you're into the curry flavor. The brisket was cooked so well, you really didn't need to chew it; it was so tender. The lady at the counter was so friendly and accommodating. She really took the time to explain the menu items and answer all the questions we had. Our orders came out so fast, I don't think it was even 10 minutes when they started serving our food. It's a small place, but a great place to get quick, quality chinese food when passing through Davis. Easy freeway access too. We'll definitely be back in the future.
I have been eating out here since 2017 from San Jose when I visit my kids at UCD. My go-to items are chicken and snow peas, beef chow fun, and pan fried noodles. I prefer this food over what is available in the South Bay (San Jose) area.
Best Chinese food in Davis! General Chow was crispy, and mildly spicy. So good I kept eating the take out on the drive back. I just couldn’t stop. The Chicken Fried Rice were wonderful as well. Large portions, reasonably price, most importantly fabulous customer service who actually cares. Your bound to have leftovers if you can keep yourself from eating it all. A rare gem in the food desert of Davis where food is almost never as good as the reviews or the Bay Area.
One of my favorite comfort spots!! Whenever I go to Sacramento I try my best to order. Quick prep and open until 10. The food is always fresh, hot, and flavorful. Must try their chicken wings and Sesame Chicken
Little side spot at the Chevron. Stopped and hubby ordered some sweet and sour chicken and some egg rolls. He said he wished he would have seen the duck items before ordering(we'll be back). The food was good with lots to choose from. Sweet and sour chicken and rice with the veggies was filling. Egg rolls were good and crispy. I like a little more sauce on my entree and egg rolls.
Fast, big portions, tasty food. My coworkers introduced me to four seasons and I've come back often ever since.
Debatably the best Chinese food in Davis, but undeniably the best Chinese food you will ever purchase from a gas station. Good portion sizes, food is always hot and fresh, staff is friendly. Menu is surprisingly vast as well - you could try something different every week for a year, and each dish is as great as the last.
Approx 6 to 8 tables for eating in. Better option is takeout. That said, 4 of us ordered salted fish and chicken fried rice (tasty and plentiful), fish and black bean sauce (best dish ever w plenty of veggies), honey walnut prawns (not deep fried batter like most but quite delicious) and beef and string beans (4 out of 5 stars on this dish) and ate in. We also took home the leftover fried rice and beef and string beans because we were so full. Coming from the bay area where I'm spoiled w great Chinese food, this is the only Chinese restaurant that I've been to in Davis that I would like to return too . I cant wait to try the other dishes.
This place is awesome. The sesame chicken is super crispy and perfectly sauced. I always get the shrimp and egg over rice and the minced pork rice noodle is amazing. I drive from Sacramento to enjoy this place!
Cashier was helpful but a little hard for me to understand. I do have a hearing issue and her accent made my ordering for 6 people a little difficult. We shared the 6 dishes and the food was GREAT.
My friend told us about this place and she wasn’t wrong! Everyone loved the food. I LOVED the food. I’m picky about Chinese food. Also, fast (freshly cooked on the spot!!) and friendly service was commendable.
Handmade and deliciously crispy pot stickers. Huge lunch portions served all day, and at an affordable price. Super friendly staff with fast service. I've only been twice but I'll be sure to stop through more often when I'm in Davis. Highly recommend the sesame chicken and pot stickers!
I’m hesitant to share this hidden gem with the world, but I have to sing the praises of the little gas station restaurant that delivers all the right gustatory notes! From the vegetarian dishes that we ordered to the curried brisket, the memory of the meal is making my mouth water four days later! The honesty and precision of the woman taking our order was delightful and welcoming. I can’t recommend this spot emphatically enough.
Every time I know I'm stopping through Davis I will order over the phone and stop here for their egg and shrimp with rice dish. Despite the simplicity of the dish, its absolutely incredible. High protein with at least six to eight large shrimp, sprinkled with some scallions and topped with some oyster sauce. The egg is always perfectly cooked with a little bit of runny thats soaked up by the rice. Sometimes I branch out and also order their spicy eggplant garlic dish. It's nice spiced with a lot of eggplant, bamboo shoots, onions, and pure deliciousness. Most recently I added chicken for two extra dollars and found it to be an incredible compliment. Would recommend ordering with rice or pairing it with the egg and shrimp rice dish since it has a lot of rice. Service is always fast, efficient and very polite.
The stinky tofu was extremely delicious. Very authentic Chinese flavor with a touch of western region’s cumin / fennel spice. It’s very spicy. Don’t try if you don’t like spicy food.
I almost don’t want to give it 5 stars because I want it all to myself. Definitely Davis’ best kept secret. When my husband first told me about a Chinese in a gas station I have to admit I was apprehensive. It kinda screams sketchy 😂 it’s a classic case of not judging a book by its cover. I have tried multiple dishes here and never been disappointed. Their beef dishes are a favourite of mine, the cumin, Mongolian and curry being the best I’ve tried I’ve also loved their string bean chicken and general chicken. The biggest problem we’ve found with this place is figuring out what to order, every time we want to try something new but we also want to order one of the gorgeous dishes we’ve had before!! There’s one particular woman who works there a lot, maybe she is an owner ? But she is so kind and makes you feel so welcome! Even thanking us for bringing back a friend with us the most recent time we visited. The pricing is incredibly reasonable, it’s actually one of the best places for me to get low carb eats when I’m doing keto as a lot of the plainer dishes come just meat and veggies - rice or noodles is always an option The always lean towards their beef dishes as the beef is incredibly tender. The portion sizes are large we always have lunch the next day sorted. When I feeel like something for a treat / a bit carby the generals chicken is perfect! I genuinely feel it’s the best Chinese in Davis !!
Next to a gas station, small, only 7 tables, self-service style, payment when ordering, Chinese deli food store. Fresh cooked for each order, big portion.
Hidden gem, best Chinese food ever. Family owned very nice. Eaten here over 20 times, great experience every time. The duck is my favorite.
$13.89 sweet and sour chicken (.50 cents for card)
Do not let the outside deceive you! This place is better than I had imagined. I was recommended by an old friend who lived in Davis couple years ago and I regret not coming here sooner. The owner is this friendly lady that had such a heart warming welcome. Felt like I went to see one of my family friends. She helped me pick out a couple dishes and she knew exactly what I wanted. I could hear the woks in the back fire up and clang around throwing up the ingredients. I did not even wait too long for them to pack it up and have it ready. But once I came home it was the best surprise I had since moving to Davis. Food is a phenomenal! The cook was phenomenal. Everything was hands down so good that it was surprising! Price is phenomenal! Nothing was short of any disappointment. Highly recommend this place to anyone who is nearby.
The Four Seasons share a space with Chevron but it didn’t take away anything. The food was delicious and their lunch special, Monday -Sunday 1030-2100, can feed two people. The food had delicious flavors and service was wonderful.

Like wonderfulLittle gem tucked away in a tiny shopping center. Fantastic greens They cooked for me specially, since I don't take sugar. Very delicious and flavorful and authentic. Good size portion. I was very happy and sorry.I don't live closer to this place to frequent it more. If you want to eat inside, it's just pretty casual, but the food is stellar. I eat lots of greens and chinese food.So have a lot of experience with different places, and this one is quite a gem!!!
I love this place, today was my first time going. The price is reasonably priced and the food was good. The lady who took my order, wish I had her name. Was so kind, funny and friendly. My day was sorta stressful, when I left the restaurant I was in such a great mood. I totally love this lady. If you ever read this, thank you for being such a wonderful person!! I will be back
Really nice people, delicious food, and incredibly convenient for someone who works across the street. This place is a winner. Easy recommend!
General chicken was prepared perfectly- it was crispy and not over-sauced. The sauce was a bit sweet for my taste however I asked for extra spicy and that evened it out. It was really good. The beef chow fun was excellent- the noodles were not overcooked and the flavor was tasty. I orders fried pot stickers and they were not very good. They lacked flavor and the consistency was neither chewy or tender. Overall a great spot. Know that it’s in a gas station but don’t let that deter you… the food is very good and the proportions are generous.
Everything about Four Seasons is prime. My meal here made my Sunday magical, believe that.

Look, I know it seems sketchy that there's a Chinese place in a gas station. I know from the outside it doesn't look like a place you'd want to eat, but I have to say I've been pleasantly surprised by this place. Don't get me wrong, their food isn't like the best Chinese you've ever had, but it's reasonably priced (for Davis, that is) and actually really clean food. They have great chow fun, and the staff have always been friendly enough. I immediately wrote this place off when I first saw it but I'm glad I got over that and tried their food, because it's pretty damn good!
Was surprised to find this in a gas station but the food was great and the staff very friendly. We had wonton soup, green bean pork and beef chow fun and pot stickers. Everything was fresh and not too salty like a lot of Chinese food. The beef was a little fatty, and best after adding a little bit sauce. Would recommend for a fast bite of home cooked food.
Don't be surprised to find that Four Seasons is directly within the gas station store. I read reviews before going but was still taken aback by how there wasn't even a door before the dining area and the store. I ordered the black bean fillet fish (lunch special) for take-out and received it within 20 minutes. Most people called in for pick-up orders, I would recommend doing that. The staff is friendly and efficient despite balancing both people calling in and orders at the front. Indoor dining is available but there isn't any outdoor seating. The fish fillet was seasoned well, but I personally found it a bit salty and the rice a bit dry. It was a good distribution of veggies and fish, definitely filling. This is a cozy local spot for classic Chinese American fare priced reasonably for the portions.
For a Chinese Kitchen connected to a gas station, I have to say the food is pretty good. Most people do take out and they order ahead. We got there and placed our order, very quick, got our food in about 10 minutes. They have a good selection of rice plates.
What a great suprise! The resto is literally inside the convenience store at the gas station! Very good food, although the prices on the menu I was shown were different (more expensive) to what I was charged.
Good food, good portions for a great price. I called it in and it was ready as soon as I got there

Half convenience store half restaurant. A few homeless out front but they didn't bother us. Kind of a sterile atmosphere but the food was pretty good. I think I would have ordered something different next time cuz I got too much fried stuff. Value was so so with each dish being about 13 bucks plus tax.
I used to pay 10 bucks for a combo fried rice, now it’s $14. I understand it’s “inflation” but it’s a bit much for just fried rice and I noticed it’s less ingredients such as eggs and shrimp. I’m paying more for less. The plates are usually pretty good. I did ask for hot slice or hot oil chili and I only got one siracha packet. Geez! And no fortune cookie! 😆 for $14 I am willing to actually sit down and enjoy an actual plate and not be near a gas station restroom. Probably won’t be ordering again.
I decided to try it for a birthday and ordered 2 chicken dishes, 1 beef, 1 shrimp, rice and chow mein plus sesame balls. I think the portion sizes were good, except I don't think there was enough shrimp. The food was hot and fresh, but as far as flavor goes, it was just alright. Those who think otherwise, probably have not been to many Chinese restaurants. I probably would come back for fried rice, but that's about it. glad they used white meat for chicken instead of dark, so that was a good thing.
The bao my partner had was good but my veggie rice was incredibly bland and despite the name really lacked veggies, basically had just plain fried rice . Wouldn’t return.
Ordered egg rolls an general chicken. The chicken was very basic cooked in old oil very burnt tasting ends. Huge portion an the owner is a very very nice lady . But the food was just the worst. Super super nasty. The bathroom was also disgusting and smells horribly like homeless pee. If the staff wasn't so nice an the portion not so big I would give 1 star . Nasty nasty stuff

Food was better than I thought. Don't let it being attached to a gas station deter you. However, customer service was bad. The lady at the register was taking a personal call and was angry at me for walking up to tell her I placed an order over the phone.
The food here wasn’t bad by any means, but was a bit lacking in flavor. That was most notable in the black bean sauce. Still, the main ingredients were cooked quite nicely and the woman behind the counter was nice enough. There’s no atmosphere here at all since you’re outside a gas station bathroom. Pretty average all things considered, but you’re also doing pretty well compared to many gas station stores so it has its place.

Big portions and fair price, but the food honestly wasn’t very good. Maybe we just got an old batch but the rice was pretty dry. Vegetables and meat really didn’t have much flavor either. It’s totally okay for a gas-station restaurant, but I’m only surprised/leaving this review because people have talked about how good this is and it didn’t live up to it.
Be very careful with ordering. The prices listed on their website are not correct. I ordered items that should have totaled $15.90. When I got there to pick up the price I got was $24.03. When I asked about the difference in price she said "we increased prices". When I suggested that they should show the changes on their website she said "we increased prices". No apology, nothing. Very unhappy with price difference and with the lack of concern from the service person.
Can’t say I’ll ever go here again honestly. I ordered the sweet and sour soup, cheese wonton and seasame chicken. The wontons weren’t bad and the soups ok but honestly the chicken is blah. Overly battered, overly sauced with thick goo and feel like gloppyness when you take a bite. I can’t even get my fork to pierce the chicken it’s so hard. Maybe I had a bad experience my first time but can’t say I’m gonna try again.

Ordered here before and the food was great. Came back yesterday and ordered for my daughter’s birthday. All the the meat dishes were old. There was an after taste (old defrosted meat) with all the dishes. Even the chow fun had old meat in it. This is why people get diarrhea after eating here. This place will get shut down soon if they keep this up!
