The catfish combo is the best, the chicken fried steak is thick and tinder. As usually their salad bar is the best in Decatur. We will definitely be back to eat here.

Coleslaw, best in Texas. The salad is kept over ice and is ice cold, just the way I like it. Chicken fried steak is normally a hit or miss, this place it is a HIT. Dont miss out. Waiter, Cameron is very helpful and friendly. He kept my tea glass filled and was able to put together a to go order, just I was walking out the door.

My second visit here while traveling. The place is big so the wait was minimal both times. The waitstaff is attentive and the fried catfish was very crispy. The French fries have a nice light, crunchy coating on them, but the hushpuppies seemed a little overcooked. One person in our party got the steak and commented that it was good (he ate it all so I guess it was!). I would stop here again if I’m driving through Decatur.

My wife and I stopped here and had a wonderful experience. We split the Jumbo friend catfish meal. And it was more than enough food for the both of us. We will definitely stop here again. Our meal was about 20 dollars and plus a tip. Our waiter Edwin was very kind and attentive. I would ask for him! 🫡🐟

This has always been one of our favorite catfish joints, and our latest experience Saturday evening did not disappoint. In addition to catfish, the fries, hush puppies, salad bar, and fried pies are all excellent. I do want to add that our waitress, Trinity, was absolutely fantastic. She only has been working there for a week or so, but she was so kind and efficient. Her sparkling personality provided the perfect compliment to a wonderful meal.

It was my first time going in. Ive passed this place plenty of times on my way to/fro the metro plex... When i entered they greeted me explained The menu process. If u eat in you get the salad bar with your meal.. I ordered a half order of salmon with grilled shrimp, and a baked potato. It was very fulfilling. I will be going back and take my hubby with me so we can try the fried fish basket..

Run! Don't walk to get here to Catfish O'Harlies!!! This was my first time here and it was so wonderfully delicious. The catfish was superb! The chicken fried chicken has a light and flaky breading and was so yummy. The coleslaw is the best I've ever had!!! By far, though, my favorite was their homemade cocktail sauce!!

Went back to Texas for work, found this GEM of a restaurant and I tell ya, the service is what you expect from a Texan, the food was impeccable and I can’t stop thinking about it! The salad bar and pot of beans was a warm welcome and the catfish for lunch was amazing!

I pulled over for my 30 minute break. I always wanted to try this place and I was impressed. I don't know if my cod sandwich taste good or not yet. I'll eat it later but my review is solely based on how I was treated. The young man at the door was extremely courteous. That alone was enough to make me want to come back. Plus, I ordered a cod sandwich, fries, and a salad from the salad bar to go. Thank you. One more thing. They have plenty of parking for big trucks.

Passing through this town on my way to see a soccer game. When this restaurant caught my eye! Of course I stopped, I was not disappointed! The food was so delicious and they literally had an old fashioned salad bar🤤. Now this fish isn’t like red lobster or any of those franchise restaurants. This place was like grandma homemade catfish! The atmosphere was amazing. I wish I would have gotten our waitresses name, she was amazing. She knew I was in a hurry for my son’s game and she got my order in and out! If ur in the neighborhood stop!! U won’t be disappointed! Trust me

It’s hard to find a quality fried catfish restaurant these days! This place is worth the drive! Nothing better than old school southern cooking! I felt the catfish filet were on the thin side but they had a nice light batter. You won’t go home hungry with the side of fries and beans! It also comes with a slaw and salad bar so fill up!

We were seated right away. Our server took a special order since I can't have flour products. They were able to accommodate me with freshly battered cat fish with cornmeal. So delicious and fresh. Our server was prompt and friendly.

First time there. Super tender, juicy and big frog's legs. Perfect seasoning. Got the combo so got to try the catfish. Wow! They had a seasoning that enhanced the catfish flavor beyond great to absolutely scrumptious! Waitress was very attentive to our needs and never had empty glasses. Hour drive to get there and WORTH IT! Did I mention a very clean and fresh salad bar with many many choices? And of course, tasty sweet tea. Going back again.

Food was good. I ordered salmon. They now charge extra for a baked potato. Not a fan of that. They were nice and split our plate in the kitchen for us. Wait staff was friendly and efficient. Salad bar was awesome. I wish they had cottage cheese. My dad got catfish and really enjoyed it. The only atmosphere issue is the smell of septic when you first walk in.

This place is awesome ! Great home cooked meals. From their coleslaw, baked beans and fantastic homemade soups, and of course the fried catfish is excellent, not greasy. I recommend everyone to stop by and enjoy a good home cooked meal.

We absolutely love this restaurant. When my best bud Tom was alive, we would drive almost 2 hours to eat there. Now, as a Hotshot Trucking operator, I pass by there occasionally, but it is either late, or I am in a hurry to beat the DFW traffic. I had to take my truck into a nearby Diesel shop, so we made a day of it, dining there. Food was as good as we had remembered, plenty to choose from. Salad bar, pinto beans, and the biggest shrimp of any place we have ever seen. Like eating a piece of chicken. The service is great, friendly, and attentive. My only regret is that we live so far away to dine more often.

We stop here often when travelling through the area. The food is really great especially (and obviously), the catfish. The main meals come with the salad bar. The lettuce is chopped into smaller pieces and is always fresh. The salad bar also always has a pot of cooked beans at the end. The beans are very hot (physically) and VERY tasty - one of our favorites. The service is always great and the employees are very interactive with the quests and very friendly. This place is highly recommended if you have any questions at all when driving by.

Nice to be able to go to a different restaurant during our travels. Husband loved his hush puppies and fist - silly guy. I ordered a steak well done and it came back opposite of that. The management reimbursed me for my meal even though I did not request that. I only asked that the cook was made aware as the waitress wrote it down correctly. Thank you for doing that for me. Afterall, it was a seafood restaurant. Blessings for this new year.

Im from Florida and the shrimp here are FIRE! The catfish and potato was was so fresh! Angel our table host was spectacular. They have truck and Rv parking in the back. First time dining here. Very Good. Our waitress Erica was perfect. From the moment of being seated, to ordering and receiving our fresh hot food the entire experience was perfect. Our platter of fried catfish, crab cakes, fries and hush puppies was so large my husband and I shared the meal leaving with a to go box for our left overs! The salad bar is small, but has everything you could want. The salad bar is fresh, has plenty of veggies to choose from, cheese, assortment of salad dressings, pasta salad, potato salad, slaw and pinto beans. Will be dining here again.

Stopped by on way back home.. had passed it several times and decided to give it a try. Was well worth it and fresh. The fillets are on the smaller side but still good. Got the fillet and shrimp combo with Mac. Meal comes with a salad bar and has good options to add on. Also they seemed to have what was baked beans near the salad bar. Definitely will stop by again.

This place does Catfish perfect? Of course they have many items on the menu, but for me it has to be the Catfish. My wife ordered the shrimp dinner, when she went to the salad bar I just had to borrow one of her shrimp. Yepper, they are tasty, too. Good eats.

Friendly service, good salad bar, and overall tasty food. Got the chicken fried steak with green beans - it had a great, crisp breading, and the green beans were nicely seasoned. Also got the catfish with cajun rice - it was good, but the hushpuppy sticks were ok (usually taste better as balls), and the cajun rice was too salty. Ended with a fried cherry pie. Would ask for the icing on the side next time, cause it's a bit too sweet otherwise. Would come back again.

Thanks so much. It was great. Roasted peanuts to start with. The salad bar is yummy. A bowl of hot pinto beans adds to the salad bar. Then the meal. I had 3 fish pieces and five giant fried oysters. Plus 4 hush puppy sticks and fried okra. Took half home. Too full for dessert. Shout out to our waiter, Angel, very proficient, friendly, and helpful.

The shrimp is amazing the server was great but the only thing was they charged use for water the water was the same price as the rest of the drinks NOT SURE IF IT WAS A SIMPLE ERROR BY THE CASHIER OR NOT that is a possibility

Yummy food. Friendly staff. Chicken fried chicken good and huge portion. Catfish and Shrimp platter also yummy and enough to bring half home. Fluffy baked potatoes and always fresh salad bar and pinto beans.

We had driven by the restaurant for years and never tried it. The catfish was on par with some of the better places that we'd had in Texas. However, dessert was a bit of a disappointment. We ordered the apricot pie. I ordered mine for there and the wife ordered hers to go. It took a few minutes to come. So, I was a bit confused when mine arrived cold and the filling was literally frozen. I'm accustomed to desserts being served in different ways and I've eaten pie crust that was less than well done a for as long as I can remember. So, I didn't think a lot about mine. But, when we asked about the situation, it turned out that the pies are made fresh and frozen. They were to be baked before serving. We may be back. But, I'll be a bit more careful about whether my dessert is served correctly.

We got Chicken Fried Steak and fries. We were able to split the meal, meaning we got the dinner with two steaks and we could share evenly. Our server was Angel and he was great. Nothing particularly wrong with this place. It just didn’t hit the spot for me. Food was fine. I got the three catfish meal. Came out hot and tasted good. My wife got the single chicken fried steamed and said it was good too. It just didn’t wow me in any way.

You don’t come to Catfish O’Harlies expecting a 5 star Brazilian steakhouse experience; you don’t take your wife here for your 20th anniversary; or to celebrate the birth of your first child. You come to Catfish O’Harlies because you’ve passed their MASSIVE purple and yellow sign on 287 one too many times, and your curiosity has peaked. Not to mention, it is the perfect midpoint separating DFW from Wichita Falls. Once you understand this, you may approach Mr. O’Harlies with the proper level of expectation. Now, for my experience. The atmosphere was second to none. Peaceful, yet lively. Service was excellent. Upon entry into the establishment, I was immediately greeted with a warm pail of peanuts. We were seated quickly and our drink orders taken right away. We were checked on an appropriate number of times and directed to their legendary salad bar. The arrival of our food was timed perfectly with the completion of my second bowl from the salad bar. The potato salad, might I add, was great! I elected for the Maryland crab combo which included 3 catfish filets, 2 crabcakes, a side of mashed potatoes, and 3 hush puppies with tartar sauce. The catfish was cooked well and tasted great. The crabcakes I was less enthused about. But, this isn’t Maryland and I was expecting much. So, for what they were, I was happy. The hush puppies were fine. The mashed potatoes were excellent. The french fries I stole from my fiancées plate were incredible. Speaking of my fiancée, she got the chicken fried steak, and let me say, if you’re coming to Catfish O’Harlies and thinking of getting the chicken fried steak, haha, stick to the catfish. I’d give it a 4.4/5 stars overall—and all those 1 star reviews? Don’t pay attention to them… they’re just from Oklahoma and jealous they don’t have a Catfish O’Harlies. Experience was decent. only problem was I ordered the 2 piece chicken fried steak, 1st piece was tender and edible. 2nd piece was like eating a cord super tough piece you could barely cut it with a knife and you would chew for days that piece was unedibal.

I think maybe ownership or management has changed because the amazing potato salad was nothing like it has been the last 5 years. Gravy was cooler than room temperature but ok if you put it on chicken fried steak.

Catfish was nice and hot but the fries were not, but that was ok since the catfish fillets were decent sized. Server was very welcoming. Nice little salad bar.

My initial reaction to the restaurant was as we were walking up to it. The front porch with the long row of rockers reminded me of a Cracker Barrel. It’s not. Never has been. The wait staff was friendly, but at times they were somewhat preoccupied. There were times that we were left alone. As in nobody taking an order or delivering an order or letting us know what the status was of our order. That would be the reason for the four stars versus five. The salad bar was good, I thought the best thing on it surprisingly was the big bowl of pinto beans at the end. They were delicious. Otherwise, the salad bar was somewhat basic but good. The food was outstanding. The hush puppies were just right. The catfish was fried to perfection and there was plenty of it. Overall, it was a very good experience. One of the other drawbacks is the location it’s out in the middle of nothing. But make a trip It’s good food

Good rebound from covid days, and finally brought back the original hush puppy's and got rid of the frozen tubular ones. Seems as the salad bowls maybe smaller but the entre portions are great. I had the grilled shrimp with fries. Plenty of shrimp on the skewers and they were cooked perfect. My bud had the chicken fried steak and mashed potato...loved it. Couple sodas to wrap and all were happy. Server was very friendly. We'll be back. Bout $27 each with tip.

Food was good all around. Our table ordered - grilled chicken, chicken tenders, chicken fried steak, fried shrimp, fried catfish, and sides included fries, okra, mashed potatoes. Fries are solid, okra was kind of meh, gravy good, mashed potatoes were approved, and salad bar was fresh and good. Ranch was fresh. Service was a little slow for as few people as there were when we got there, but it did get busier. Portions also very good.

This restaurant is efficient and good at what they do. All the staff were great and welcoming. We were greeted and offered a mini pail of peanuts. The catfish did not disappoint and they have a salad bar that also has beans. Good for groups and families. I wanted to love this place but I just can't. The sewage smell walking in the door was terrible and should've been the first hint to just leave. But we pressed on. The salad bar is small but fresh. Note: it was the best part of the meal. The service was ok but didn't get drink refills until the meal was done. The restaurant appears to be clean. The food took longer than expected for lunch but finally arrived hot. The catfish lunch came with three of the smallest pieces of catfish I've ever seen, especially for the cost. The fish was overcooked and dry. The fried okra came out half and half...half semi-cooked and half burned. The "hush puppies" were weird at best and terrible. And then there was something they claim is coleslaw. It was lukewarm and tasted like they put nutmeg in it. It is a very odd flavor. Nothing served had any seasoning to it at all. Very bland. I've been driving by this place for years and hoped for the best. I was disappointed in the entire experience. And the prices for what you actually get is not worth the visit. I'm pretty sure I won't ever come back.

The wait staff was very friendly. The atmosphere was fitting. Rhw food was just OK. My daughter thought the chicken strips were good. The fried catfish fried catfish filets were on the thin side. My son LOVES fried catfish. He said it was meh, and hush puppies were ok. The fries and fried shrimp were the best thing we got. The cheese curds seemed chewy. Overall, it was decent, we wouldnt avoid the place, but we wouldn't go out of my way to visit again.

The place needs a serious deep clean! Prevailing odor, bathroom needed serious attention.. needs updating! Owners..please put some cash and attention back into the place! Close it down for a week and hit it with a power washer and freshen things up. And fix or resurface the parking lot, had to weave around the potholes and standing water. Drove 50 miles because my memories were so fabulous from 10-15 years ago;). But..the good! The food was fresh, hot and wonderful..and the service staff was great! But couldn’t help wondering about the condition of the kitchen? Sad.

Being a lifelong seafood lover from Louisiana I know the difference between fresh and frozen. The food is good. I like the baked potato option. Love the salad bar.

Seems like they must have gone to a less quality of fried fish because the juicy meaty fried fish is gone and been replaced by a more dry breaded fish. I understand the need to watch the price of your product but hoping they will go back to the good brand they used to serve that was 5 star all the way. Our server was prompt to the table after a very short wait to be seated. We were invited to the salad bar and that's when things began to turn. The salad (and the food) was average. There were no meat (protein) options on the bar and the other items lacked much appeal. The bowl for salads were decently sized and allowed you to pile it on without fear of spill over. Our meals were to the table within minutes of finishing our salad although our fried pickle appetizer was late -- apparently the chef's did not hear our server request they prepare that order. Nevertheless, we ate our meals which was riddled with mediocrity. The catfish was luke warm with average (bland) taste (big deal since "catfish" is in the name). The frog legs and stuffed crab were very bland and the grilled shrimp was dry and overcooked. We used copious amounts of salt, pepper, hot/cocktail/tartar sauce, and ketchup to please the palate. Recommend you try this place if you have no other options for a night out. We travelled an hour from Wichita Falls and won't be doing it again ... Not for average.

The service and atmosphere were top notch! Super clean restaurant and the young man that waited on us was just incredible. However besides the awesome, fresh, and clean salad bar everything else fell way short. The crabcakes were so dense and flavorless. The fish was less than impressive. I’ve had better fast food fish. The fried jalapeños were okay but kind of burned and raw at the same time. I wish the food would have been better because they have a cool, large restaurant and awesome servers.

Service isn't that great, steak was cooked PERFECTLY but wasn't seasoned at all, very bland. Overall definitely disappointed for a $20 meal. Just withstand the wait and go to Casa Torres.

I regretted going here. The service was slow even taking my drink order. The food was mediocre given the cost. The salad bar wasn't bad, probably the best part.

I ordered a two-piece fish dinner with green beans, and my wife ordered a two-piece with fries. This is clearly one piece of fish cut in half. Our order for dinner was $34. Will not dine here again. Over price

I ordered grilled chicken and the piece was super thin and very dry and bland. The salad bar was mediocre at best, with fake hard "bacon" bits and very limited options. Maybe the seafood is better but my food was not good and not nearly worth the $18 price. Very disappointing experience.

This place has really gone downhill, The food used to be really good here, and I recently had ate here and it's not as good as it used to be. I don't know if it's an under new management or ownership or if it's just the cooks in the back, but I ordered the crab cakes and they used to have stuffed crab shells, which we're good.The crabcakes were very bad and the shrimp were not all that good either.!!

The male host was nice, the waitress had a very bad attitude not a good communicator. The food.everthing on the salad bar. the beans where good, the clole slaw was good. the salad was fresh, my plate was catfish and oysters. Well there was maybe like 1oz of actual fish the rest was just fry batter. Not good at all. My wife got the salmon was not great.

Burnt crab cakes (black)and small ,catfish was ok but nothing special pasta salad zero flavor. French fries over salted. Not worth the 20.00 we shelled out for it.

Driven past loads and always wanted to stop in, finally had enough time. When you walk in you get a waft of sewer backup and the salad bar is right in front of the bathrooms. Ordered the crab cakes and catfish as recommended. Was a big plate of flavourless hot(ish) brown. Fish batter isn’t seasoned, crab cakes were mushy and just tasted fishy,French fries were ok, cold weird tubular hush puppies. Knocked it off the list of Texas places to try, won’t be back. Should have tried the TexMex place next door. Was way busier, know better for next time.
