The lady doing the cooking is so friendly.I will definitely return to this hidden jewel of restaurant. It is definitely a wonderful change as this restaurant sets itself apart from the rest.
Finally found a good place here in the Denton area. Moved up from the Richardson area and hated having to drive back down south. Pupusas are good. The Tajadas con carne molida are great. The pollo frito con tajadas is delish 👌🏼. We will definitely be coming back to this place from now on.
We had the pollo con tajada and a plate of tacos. Fried chicken is awesome. Plantain chips are great. Super friendly people there who like to talk about food. Will be back.
Best service! The food is amazing! Yes, we will be coming back when we come back again on vacation!
Love the pupusas! Cheese, bean and cheese, or chicharron and cheese. Had the first 2 and they were great.

Great place
I love it!!
Delicious food, great owners.
I recently discovered Catrachos in downtown Denton, and it truly is a spectacular hidden gem—a wonderful little piece of authentic Central American cuisine. Don't be fooled by the unassuming exterior; sometimes the best food is found in these smaller, more genuine spots. The service here is just as memorable as the food. The staff, especially the kind lady at the counter, are extremely nice and helpful. They check on you throughout the meal, making you feel welcomed and ensuring a great overall experience. We loved trying an array of dishes, and honestly, it’s hard to pick a favorite as everything was so delicious and fresh. The Pupusas are a must-try; the chicharron and the bean/cheese varieties are perfectly thick and flavorful. The Pastelitos were wonderfully crisp, and the Pork Tamales were superb—moist, soft, and filled with great chunks of meat and veggies, proving that they know how to make this perfect food right. We also enjoyed the Pollo con Tajadas, with its crisp skin and tasty plantains. Everything was tasty and mild, allowing the pure flavors to shine, though they do have a nice hot sauce for an extra kick. Finding a parking spot can be a slight challenge, but the incredible food and kind people make the visit absolutely worthwhile. I am already looking forward to my next trip!
We found this truly gem in downtown Denton. The food was delicious and the lady that got our order was so kind & nice. Definitely coming back to this little piece of Honduras 🇭🇳in Denton 💙🧡🤍
We love trying new foods from different countries and cultures, so when we came across Catrachos, we had to try it. It is a small 'dive' serving Honduran food in Denton. And I use 'dive' in every positive sense of the word. Nothing fancy, just good people serving up great food. If you are new to Honduran food, I suggest you study the menu before going in as they only have pictures of the items on the wall. We had Pollo con Tajadas, pupusas, and Pork Tamales. I can't tell you which was better of the three as they were all delicious. The chicken was fried and the skin crisp and tasty with plantains and a type of slaw, the pupusas are a thick griddle cake filled with your choice of filling (we had pork and bean / cheese), and the Pork Tamales were filled with chunks of meat and veggies. You order at the counter and select from a variety of canned and bottled drinks. The young lady behind the counter was extremely nice and was helpful in describing the menu; she also checked on us throughout our meal. Parking is very limited and there aren't many places to park nearby. As i dont know how busy it gets, you might want to go between lunch and dinner hours. Catrachos was such a treat for us. We had a great time and immensely enjoyed the food. We are already looking forward to our next visit.
I’m Honduran and can confirm that the pollo con tajadas is mouthwatering here. 10/10 recommend! Although, I may be bias, I think you’ll enjoy the food here! Great customer service as well.
This place is a real hidden gem. The food was exceptional. Delicious, interesting and authentic. We ordered the Baleadas (a meal on their own), Pastelitos (crunchy, hearty, saucy), Pupusas (bean and cheese for me), and Tamales (different but really, really tasty). I would recommend any of these to anyone and I'll definitely be back to try more. Clean bathrooms too!
They’re fast and they take card!!
This place could stand up next to any fancy five star restaurant and might still be better! It’s Honduran food so they have pupusas and theirs were amazing! We also had some sort of empanada as well as some tacos that were more reminiscent of flautas but still delicious. The best thing we ate was this fried chicken with a sauce on it that almost reminded me of ranchero sauce. It was all wonderful and different but not too far off from Mexican food. If you want to try something different without taking too much of a risk this is your place. Don’t let the inside scare you because it’s kind of plain in there but I promise you won’t be disappointed. Try the bean and cheese pupusas!

First time trying Catrachos and it did not disappoint! The food was fresh, tasty and delicious, just like eating back home. 100% recommended to anyone to wanting to try Honduras cuisine.
I love their pupusas! They are fresh, hot delicious… also I tried other foods and they were all good.
Yummy food! Went here on a whim to get pupusas & they were delicious! Went also tried pastelitos that were so good. The staff was very friendly & provided great service! We’ll definitely be back to try more!
It is almost impossible to find a restaurant that serves good authentic tamales. Been to this restaurant once and theirs were superb! Moist, soft, multiple flavors. When they’re done right, tamales are the perfect food. Rarely are they done right. Except here, at Catrachos, an unassuming Guatemalan restaurant in Denton! Sometimes the best food is in restaurants that might surprise you from the outside … but great on the inside, where it counts.
We loved it! Our favorite thing we got today was the pastelito. Really crisp and flavorful. We also each type of papusa: chicharron, queso, and bean and queso. Chicharron papusa was my favorite. The platano rellano was awesome too, kind of an interesting dish of fried plantain with what seemed like a cheese sauce on top. It's delicious, worth trying for sure. Everything was tasty and mild, no spice at all. They do have a nice hot sauce that seems simple, just peppers and vinegar from what I can tell. Definitely try it if you're curious, you'll be glad you did.
Love this place so so much!!!! Pupusas are bomb
I stopped by to get something to eat. I am a truck driver and found this restaurant in google maps and oh my is this food amazing! Will definitely be back whenever I come back to Dallas. Great customer service, decent prices too! I got the pollo con tajadas and some delicious pupusas!
Everything on the menu is fantastic.. The best & most authentic food - grateful for this place
The food is awesome! It was just the 2 of us but I ordered about 6 different things knowing I'd be taking some home. It's a small local cultural restaurant with good food, not commercial. Everyone was friendly from the moment we walked in, followed through with the Goodbyes/Adios. We'll definitely be back. You order at the front and take a seat for your food to be brought to you. Parking in the front is limited but you can park on the back street (Myrtle St)and walk to the front with no problem. That's what we did. It was quick and easy. There were other vehicles parked there too 🌹
The food is excellent, the chicken tamales and the beef soup are the best. The person who handles the cashier and takes the food orders should put a smile on his face and be more friendly.other than that a great place for a good lunch.
Hella expensive, like $7 a baleada, but it was very good and portions were good. If it was cheaper I would come more often
good food, and love the orange and green hot sauces in the squeeze bottles.

Please fix the online delivery!!! The food is great
Catrachos has amazing Honduran food! Staff was very accommodating to an ignorant white boy trying to figure out what I wanted to eat. My *only* complaint is that there aren't any meal descriptions written down. There are pictures and they'll tell you what's in it, but it'd be nice to have a menu so I don't feel so bothersome asking the staff 20 questions lol.

Taste good.
Not the right place to order Pupusas from, or Salvadorean food for that matter. The service is not any better either.
