Finally found a good place here in the Denton area. Moved up from the Richardson area and hated having to drive back down south. Pupusas are good. The Tajadas con carne molida are great. The pollo frito con tajadas is delish 👌🏼. We will definitely be coming back to this place from now on.

I recently discovered Catrachos in downtown Denton, and it truly is a spectacular hidden gem—a wonderful little piece of authentic Central American cuisine. Don't be fooled by the unassuming exterior; sometimes the best food is found in these smaller, more genuine spots. The service here is just as memorable as the food. The staff, especially the kind lady at the counter, are extremely nice and helpful. They check on you throughout the meal, making you feel welcomed and ensuring a great overall experience. We loved trying an array of dishes, and honestly, it’s hard to pick a favorite as everything was so delicious and fresh. The Pupusas are a must-try; the chicharron and the bean/cheese varieties are perfectly thick and flavorful. The Pastelitos were wonderfully crisp, and the Pork Tamales were superb—moist, soft, and filled with great chunks of meat and veggies, proving that they know how to make this perfect food right. We also enjoyed the Pollo con Tajadas, with its crisp skin and tasty plantains. Everything was tasty and mild, allowing the pure flavors to shine, though they do have a nice hot sauce for an extra kick. Finding a parking spot can be a slight challenge, but the incredible food and kind people make the visit absolutely worthwhile. I am already looking forward to my next trip!

We love trying new foods from different countries and cultures, so when we came across Catrachos, we had to try it. It is a small 'dive' serving Honduran food in Denton. And I use 'dive' in every positive sense of the word. Nothing fancy, just good people serving up great food. If you are new to Honduran food, I suggest you study the menu before going in as they only have pictures of the items on the wall. We had Pollo con Tajadas, pupusas, and Pork Tamales. I can't tell you which was better of the three as they were all delicious. The chicken was fried and the skin crisp and tasty with plantains and a type of slaw, the pupusas are a thick griddle cake filled with your choice of filling (we had pork and bean / cheese), and the Pork Tamales were filled with chunks of meat and veggies. You order at the counter and select from a variety of canned and bottled drinks. The young lady behind the counter was extremely nice and was helpful in describing the menu; she also checked on us throughout our meal. Parking is very limited and there aren't many places to park nearby. As i dont know how busy it gets, you might want to go between lunch and dinner hours. Catrachos was such a treat for us. We had a great time and immensely enjoyed the food. We are already looking forward to our next visit.

When they’re done right, tamales are the perfect food. Rarely are they done right. Except here, at Catrachos, an unassuming Guatemalan restaurant in Denton! Sometimes the best food is in restaurants that might surprise you from the outside … but great on the inside, where it counts.

Everything was tasty and mild, no spice at all. They do have a nice hot sauce that seems simple, just peppers and vinegar from what I can tell. Everyone was friendly from the moment we walked in, followed through with the Goodbyes/Adios. We'll definitely be back. You order at the front and take a seat for your food to be brought to you. Parking in the front is limited but you can park on the back street (Myrtle St)and walk to the front with no problem. That's what we did. It was quick and easy. There were other vehicles parked there too 🌹

Por lo general no dejo reseñas pero este lugar se lo merece. Fui atendido por un personaje prepotente y con falta de servicio al cliente. Llego para ordernar una pupusas para llevar. A mi descuido termine pagando $3.94 por cada pupusa, que estaban decentes cuando mucho. Lo que no me gusto fue que confronte al personaje que me atendio para decirle que como es que me cobraron $3.94 por cada pupusa cuando en su menu dice que el precio es $2.60. Lo unico que pudo decirme es que han cambiado el precio en el menu presencial, pero no en internet. Le comunique al trabajador que ese no era mi problema, porque realmente fui por el precio que vi en el menu en internet y el cliente no tiene el problema de que los precios no esten corrector por error de ellos. El trabajador simplemente se quito la responsabilidad diciendome que ese tampoco era problema suyo. Apartir de ahi, tome mis cosas sin decir nada mas y me retire del lugar ya que con lo que me dijo era obvio que el trabajador no iba a corregir el precio basado a lo que estaba en internet. Tambien me parece increible que despues de pagar $3.94, mas de $40 en total, solo te den cuatro contenedores de una onza para toda la orden. Es un lugar lamentable que no merece la pena.

Demasiado mal trato a la clientela no tienen pasiensia para poder esperar a que ellos desidan que pedir y otra de mal es que tienes que ir a pedirlo cuando lo normal es que te atiendan y te den su menú y esperen a que tú estés preparado para así tomar tu orden, así que no me parece demasiado mal trato

Me vendieron unas baleadas con los frijoles agrios y me dió diarrea y eso que solo le mordi una vez aparte llame y no me contestaron para hacer el reclamo y el despachador es pésimo le parece que uno anda pidiendo lo entiende de mala gana y no regrese por qué iba tardé al trabajo

Unas de las peores experiencias en servicio al cliente y las peores Pupusas que haya comido. Pedí dos Pupusas revueltas de chicharrón con queso, cuado me las sirvió el gordito Primo del dueño le comenté que estaba muy blanca para que fuese con chicharrón me dijo ábrala y dese cuenta con su repugnancia se la mostré y le pregunté si el miraba chicharrón porque yo solo miraba el queso su respuesta fue pruébela haber si le siente sabor y se fue para la cocina y nunca volvió tampoco me sirvió mi lo monada que pedí el tamal de puerco punto peor estaba bien desagradable decir que nunca volveré o recomendare este restaurante es poco. Not the right place to order Pupusas from, or Salvadorean food for that matter. The service is not any better either.
