Bigsby’s Folly Craft Winery & Restaurant

We have been to Bigsby's about 5 times now and I'm honestly ashamed I have not reviewed this amazing establishment yet. The service is always phenomenal and personable. The wine, food & ambiance is amazing and the wine membership is unbeatable. Always make sure to ask about their rotating flatbread - you can definitely tell their chefs are allowed to be creative here! Shout-out to Morgan for always taking care of us!! 💕

Love this wine bar - one of the best in Denver. A local wine bar with amazing Napa valley grapes. The ambiance is great for a date night or drink, and the food is great too. We even love the truffle popcorn and olive and almond snacks! They also do great events like wine dinners and theme nights. And they have happy hour specials. We joined the bottle club and growler club - both great deals!

What a great experience! Came here with two friends for a night out and we were not disappointed. The cocktails, wine and food were all amazing! The space is beautiful and we really had a great night. I highly recommend the charcuterie board, the French Onion sliders, the spinach artichoke dip and the Margherita flat bread. I will definitely be coming back!

First time at Bigsby’s for a class and it was SOOOO FUN!! The wine was really good and I love the vibe. What a beautiful place! I will definitely be back!!!

Ok… The banana’s foster old fashioned is one of the best old fashioned I have ever had! The espresso martini is also amazing! The happy hour is legit, we had the Cab and it was phenomenal! You can also add on a Zinfandel dipper for your cookies, which we did! The PB and J Bombe with the guava jelly was unlike anything I have ever had. I love this place, the atmosphere, the wine, the food, the service! Lauren is awesome, we will be coming back again and again. Love a winery named after an adorable pup! 🥰

As an event photographer, I absolutely love working at this venue! It's well-maintained, with great natural light, and thoughtful spaces that make capturing moments easy and elegant. The staff is organized, communicative, and genuinely great to work with — they go out of their way to make sure everything runs smoothly.

We recently held our wedding at Bigsby's, and the experience was exactly what we were looking for! The space is beautiful. The food and wine was fantastic. The service/staff was very friendly and professional... Their event coordinator, Cassie, was absolutely wonderful to work with - she was so accommodating to our needs, and was flexible with adjustments along the way. Highly recommend to anyone looking to host a event/party/wedding!

Everything was soooo good, seriously, the margarita flatbread was juicy and flavorful, nice and filling it’s perfect for if you accidentally enjoy too much wine. With the truffle popcorn they don’t skimp on the truffle and the almonds in the olive and almonds are delicious. I asked the waitress how it’s so good and they soak it in house in a delicious marinade My server taylor was friendly and courteous, Nicole the bartender made phenomenal drinks and answered all my questions. Another server Ashley was very friendly as well and brought dog treats out for the dogs that were in the patio! I highly recommend this place to anyone into wine or good food, if you’re in Denver you won’t be disappointed. Oh and the patio is dog friends but they’re not allowed inside

Very delightful wine bar with nonchalant and friendly atmosphere! They offer a wine flight which I am ALL ABOUT! Their charcuterie boards are unique because you get to pick what you want from a list! So fun! Parking is a bit meh but otherwise, great place to wind down. There was even a couple playing a game of cards too!

Went with a friend for some late lunch. Certainly did not disappoint especially the petit verdot red. The burrata fig flatbread was excellent as was the dessert. We tried their bread pudding it was flavorful. The ambiance was gorgeous with red brick interior and exposed wood beams. Will be back for the petit verdot alone!!

We went for restaurant week 2024 and loved the $35 pairing! Each wine was delicious and the bites paired very well! It was exactly what we were looking for and for the price we were so impressed. I didn't get the names but our two waiters were also awesome and did a great job explaining the pairings and bringing the experience together. I definitely recommend! Photos attached.

Can't give enough kudos to Cassie Sullivan and her team as well as an amazing chef for our corporate event. Seriously the best we've had in venue, service, quality of food, bar and wine. It was almost embarrassing with people thanking me for choosing Bigsby's!

Bigsby's is the perfect place for a wedding. We had around 100 guests and it was the perfect event space for us. Having the back patio to do the ceremony and the dancing and then the inside space for the reception is the perfect setup. Cassie made the entire process a breeze. Having the venue handle everything including the food and beverages, as well as all of the extra equipment you really don't think about makes things so much simpler. On top of that, the food was absolutely amazing. We've had many guests tell us it was the best food they've had at a wedding. The staff is also extremely friendly and helpful, we did not want for anything the entire day.

I hosted our company's holiday party here (50 crazy people) and we all had a blast. I received so many compliments on the food and venue. Would definitely recommend and use again in the future.

Paige & Zavier were AMAZING! We love this place and they are always so welcoming. The customer service is amazing! We love getting our last minute work done for the week while having a glass of wine and enjoying a charcuterie board!

The signature tasting experience was an absolute delight ! The wines stand alone, but paired with the foods, they come to vivid life. Jamison was knowledgeable about both the food and wine. Try the Aspen Leaf. What a pleasant surprise. One of the best desert wines I have tasted.

The wine club is a great deal, the food is phenomenal, the wine is easy drinking. This is the best place for a girls night. Jameson was so friendly and attentive. We love Bigsby’s Folly!

Amazing experience at Bigsby’s with Jameson, our wonderful server and creator of the aspen leaves orange dessert wine. Yum! We did the prix fixe menu plus the sparkling trio flight. It was on point.

Me and my husband had our rehearsal dinner here and it was perfect. We got the taco bar with chicken and shrimp (the best shrimp ever in my husbands words), which also included incredible elote dip and tons of toppings. We also got the elk en croute, ricotta toast, and honey smoked salmon appetizers and they were absolutely phenomenal. My husband could not stop raving about the bananas foster old fashioned, if you stop by you absolutely have to try it, it was so yummy! Cassie coordinated our event and was very kind and very easy to work with. The event space in the back very easily fit my party of 25 and we were able to hangout outside which was a very nice touch. Thank you Bigsby's Folly, we absolutely loved having our rehearsal with you!

I went to the Galentine’s event and it was absolutely great! Our server, Ashton was so kind and even made me a custom drink. I will absolutely go back for their other events.

We recently threw a party for about 50 people. The event room at Bigsby's Folly is a gorgeous space and was exactly what we were looking for. The food was outstanding. And working with Cassie, the event coordinator, could not have been easier. She was professional, communicative, and efficient. Overall outstanding experience.

We had the best girls brunch and Jameson was so helpful as we were looking into wedding venues! As a wine girly I had the best time and delicious wine!! The knowledge and vibe was 10/10!

The entire bar crew was phenomenal! Jameson’s service and wine knowledge taught me a lot! Mmmm yeah made me sign up for the wine club. It’s worth it 😏

Bigsby’s Folly is the best wine bar in Denver! I have been a member of their growler club for years. The wine and food are delicious! The staff is super friendly and welcoming. Great place for date night, friends brunch or to host an event. Highly recommend and a must see when friends visit from out of town. Check it out! Cheers! 🍷

What a jewelbox of a wine bar! We have enjoyed yummy, seasonal food prepared with panache. But you must try their wines... something for every taste. I love the cab franc. But last night was a special treat. We attended a very reasonably priced cooking class, making Korean dumplings and potstickers that came with a complimentary glass of bubbly. We were in the private events room with delightful sparkly overhead lights and the chef was fun and helpful as we tried something new. Lots of fun and a really friendly atmosphere. I even had a bananas Foster old fashioned for dessert after the event which is to die for!

We have been going to Bigsby's since they opened. It is our go-to in the neighborhood and is the right atmosphere for just about everything. We've gone for dates nights, celebrations, MotoGP races, and weathered some of our own personal challenges there too, like losing loved ones and navigating other stressful events. The staff always meets us where we are - from tough moments to our finest moments. The wine is also excellent, while we appreciate trying the changing taps, we do find our favorites and stay with them for a while. Also - great food! Whether you want a snack or a full plate, the menu always has something nice to offer.

Jameson was our waiter on valentines and although it was very busy he was so attentive and made some awesome recommendations. The food was amazing and the drinks were even better. Best dinner reservations we’ve made in a while. Please stop in. The ambiance was fun and the staff was awesome, you won’t be disappointed.

This place is special. Amazingly cozy & inviting vibes. The wine is great and the service is so great. The staff is so hospitable and gives amazing recommendations. The food is great for small bites but they have amazing events if you are in the community. Love this spot!

We stopped in for a glass of wine on a weeknight because we heard from friends about how nice this place is. Checking in was simple, though they were busy when we arrived with a large group in the private back room. Service was great. The menu is also great. They have a fair amount of wine in their menu, but I didn’t see names of wines (brands/names), so I asked and learned that they either make their own or work with others to make a wine for them. So, I chose their higher-end cab to try and it was pretty decent on the first few tastes. Slightly fruity, which I’m not too fond of. But noticed that overall it feel flat, yet it was decent, just not worth the price. We tried their choose three meat/cheese board and that was really nice! Came with some great accoutrement and was fresh and tasty. The venue is beautiful and nicely decorated. Definitely would recommend stopping in!

We're visiting Colorado and decided to try Bigsby. It's a nice wine bar with beer, cocktails and food. I got the fight of red wine and an order of olives with almonds. It is a great place for locals to meet up and relax.

Cauliflower breakfast flat bread is absolutely a must. I’m not even gluten free but wow it’s good! We got ours with sausage. The drinks are decent (they do not have espresso for martinis and even the “cold brew” listed on the menu is just a cold water French press according to the waiter...). Service was okay, and atmosphere was just perfect. Directions/signage to get to this place is difficult and could be improved significantly but maybe they want to remain low key? Overall 4/5

The staff are very kind but we did find our server left without a heads up so it took us a minute to figure out who to tell that we hadn’t paid our bill yet. Lavender kiss: 10/10 (very flavorful without being overpowering) Espresso martini: 7/10 Bananas foster old fashioned shot: 4/10 (it was really smooth but there wasn’t much flavor outside of the whiskey) Tequila Honey Bee: 8/10 (perfect for all the tequila lovers)

Looking back on our visit to Bigsby's, I cannot help but be disappointed. We planned to stop in when we visited Denver in 2022, so when we returned in 2023, we knew we had to try harder to make the trip. Overall, the space itself is nice. Very nice aesthetics inside, with a nice patio outside for when the weather decides to cooperate. There are plenty of windows all around to let in natural light. When we arrived in the middle of the afternoon on a Saturday, the winery wasn't very busy. There were a couple of tables here and there, and a larger group that was wrapping up their visit. The staff were also helping prepare for an on-site wedding later that day. Despite what seemed like a manageable number of guests, we waited extended periods of time to be served throughout the time we were there. At one point, our server even admitted that she forgot about us. We decided to start with the Folly 5 Wine Tasting, assuming they would pick five wines that highlight their wines the best. Being the middle of summer, we were rather surprised that 4/5 of the wines on the tasting were reds. We hoped that maybe they were lighter reds given the season but after trying everything, we think that they just stick with the same 5 wines throughout the year. The Brut Cuvee was our favorite of the bunch. The reds were generally disappointing. We decided to order some food while we were there and settled on a meat and cheese board. At first glance, the presentation of everything looked pretty good, and we were kind of impressed coming off of the wines. But then we started actually eating what was on the board, and we realized that the flavors were not very cohesive. The pile of mustard did not go well with any cheeses, nor did the pickled vegetables. It was a strange combination of items that seemed more like they were there to look nice than actually be a well thought out food board.

A group of friends and I attended their "Waffles and Wine" Galentine's event tonight. This was my first time visiting Bigsby's, and I was extremely underwhelmed. The waffle buffet and the mimosa I had were fine but nothing remarkable. I would have chalked it up to "not my cup of tea" and been happy to support a local business anyways, but the service was truly disappointing. When my friend and I arrived, the host didn't really welcome us so much as ask us what we were doing there. He approached us in a way that made us immediately feel like an inconvenience and like we were intruding. Our group had purchased tickets individually rather than as a group, and he seemed confused and frustrated while we tried to explain. It wasn't initially clear to us that this was not a "seat yourself" situation until he pretty brusquely made it clear that he couldn't help us without the rest of our group. We happily stepped aside and just waited until the rest of our group arrived. From there, we were checked in and eventually led to a table by the same host who again seemed very off-put by the idea of leading us to a table. We were led to a table and then just kind of...left there. Nobody really gave us an idea of what to expect once seated. We weren't told that we could get our "welcome drink" from the bar or that we could serve ourselves from the buffet or that a server would be by with a wine list until we flagged the host down again when he brought water to ask what we were supposed to do. Eventually, a server did come by with a wine list. For what seems like a very nice venue and for a $35 ticket for what amounts to a slightly above average continental breakfast buffet and a small mimosa on a night marketed as a Galentine's event in which we are undoubtedly also paying for the ambiance of the space, I would have liked to be treated warmly as a guest in the space and not as an inconvenience. I understand that everyone has off days at work, but I have never felt so unwelcome in a space. I'm unlikely to visit again as the whole night left a bad taste in my mouth.
