I can only speak to the happy hour, which is wonderful. The little tacos are absolutely delicious, as is the queso, and the drinks are tasty and a good price for the happy hour specials. If you’re looking for a happy hour in the area, this is a great one!
If I could give this place 20 stars, I would!! Truly one of the BEST meals we’ve ever had! First, our server Sergio was absolutely incredible. We ordered all of his recommendations and loved every one of them. We started with the house bread and chorizo - SO flavorful. Next, I got the carnitas tacos and my boyfriend got the Chefs Steak. We both ate every last bite! For sides, we got the arroz de cocos and the papas. Oh. My. Gosh. Mouthwatering! I’m a picky eater so this was out of my comfort zone, but I loved everything that we got! And the drinks - WOW! One of the best prickly pear margaritas I’ve ever had. We ate here weeks ago and we’re still talking about it! I can’t wait until we come back!!
Wow! This was a wonderful adventure for our taste buds. Everything we tried was excellent. Firstly, I recommend the Bear Basket. They had way more food than we could eat, everything was great, and definitely worth the price compared to getting half as many things individually. The ceviche was mind blowing. So good (quite spicy though!) The pulled pork tacos were crazy: they bring a whole chunk of pork on the bone! The churros were very good. This place was amazing. Everything seemed very thoughtfully put together.
Hands down one of the best restaurants in Colorado! From the drinks to the Carnitas, everything was full of flavors. Brandon was an excellent host and made us feel very appreciated. Will be coming back!
What a seriously special spot… The dedication from all staff to clean, quality food and drink plus exceptional service with care and attention to individual needs is noteworthy! I popped in just quickly for a little snack before an event nearby. I ended up staying for two delightful and FRESH cocktails: The Cucumber Marg (with some spice, as Becky the fabulous bartender informed me that any of the margs could be made with some heat…) This makes sense given that the majority of everything is made so lovingly to order. And I enjoyed a classic Paloma which was perfectly balanced, not too sweet and a little effervescent 💕 They garnished it with mint as well, which I felt was a beautiful touch. I noted some food allergies and I might have forgotten or overlooked it, but thanks to the thoughtful staff being so mindful and asking, I left with nothing but a well nourished appetite and grateful for the delicious/nutritious options offered. Can’t wait to return and will highly recommend to all.
Great Latin American fare with friendly wait staff and outstanding Margaritas. The Octupus and Salmon sharables were to die for. My recommendation is to order from the sharable menu and make it a fun tapas style dining experience.
Checked out Senor Bear for our anniversary dinner, found through the inKind network of restaurants. Highly recommend, amazing service and delicious food.
My partner and I dine out a lot and this was definitely one of our best meals! We got the bear basket and for $70 per person the quantity and quality of the food was impressive. Basically three courses where the chef sends out dishes of their choosing and everything was fantastic— would absolutely do this again. Service was great and the churros for dessert were out of this world!
Great place to try an unique menu, may not be for everyone that doesn’t step out of the box. Food was good needs more spice. Street parking only so plan to walk a few blocks unless you get lucky. Service was excellent, fun for the neighborhood.
Had dinner here last night and everything was amazing! It’s a great spot with cool atmosphere. I’ve never had South American food and our waiter was so knowledgeable and helpful. From the wine to the food. We ordered everything he recommended and it was all so delicious. Turns out he is from our home town of So Cal too! If you’re visiting Denver you need to eat here. You won’t be disappointed!
All around an amazing experience. Even though the price point is a bit higher the food, service and vibe make up for it. There was so much flavor in the shrimp ceviche, mussels, and pork shank carnitas where we told our waiter not to take the shrimp or mussel bowls because we were sipping on the rest of the juice it came in. Great experience from checking in til the end. I will definitely be back!
Hayes was absolutely amazing from start to finish! From the moment we sat down, he was incredibly sweet, patient, and helpful. He took the time to explain every single dish on the menu and even walked us through all the ingredients in the items we ordered. His drink recommendations were spot on, and he brought out the perfect salsa pairings for us to enjoy. We definitely took our time eating and chatting, but Hayes never once made us feel rushed—he was attentive, kind, and truly went above and beyond. Honestly, he’s the kind of server that makes a dining experience unforgettable. His boss should seriously give him a raise. 10/10 recommend, especially because of the outstanding service. Thank you, Hayes!
Great food, even better service! Glad we sat outside as the music was a little loud inside. The patio was large and comfortable. The cocktails were all fresh and tasty. The beef tartare on molasses bread was such an interesting combination but absolutely delicious! The steak with chimichurri was also a highlight. Our server was friendly and very helpful when describing dishes or offering suggestions.
My husband, cousin, and her husband all shared the Bear Basket and everything we had was amazing. The standouts being the layered potato dish fried in duck fat. We were all swooning over the desserts, as well. Our waitress was informed and accommodating as well. She did a great job helping my cousins pair their drinks with the meal. My husband is already looking forward to another meal at Señor Bear!
We really enjoyed our experience at Señor Bear! We were slightly caught off guard to find out the happy hour on the patio ended sooner than the happy hour at the bar but thankfully, our waiter was very accommodating and was able to get multiple rounds of drinks and food ordered before it ended at 5pm. The happy hour drinks and small bites were certainly delicious. Looking forward to coming back to try the full menu!
Food was delicious, service was wonderful as well. Brendan (or Chris?) accommodated the allergy needs with a sense of humor and gave great recommendations.
Great experience for mother's day brunch. The atmosphere was fun and lively. I assumed the menu would be larger but they had a brunch menu with a limited number of items. Regardless, the food was great and so was the service. No complaints.
I will go out of my way to visit Señor Bear. Be prepared to wait if you don’t have a reservation... but so worth it. The service was amazing - it’s not often the server offers a sample of a drink just to make sure you like it. The atmosphere is very Latin inspired and they offer outside seating that is covered and has heaters.
Absolutely delicious and the server was great! The coconut rice is no joke. The servers recommendation were on point. 10/10 would come again
A major step up from most Denver eateries as this place has great flavors and wildly delicious drinks. I came for happy hour and tried every item on the menu as they were all simply divine. The highlight was the Seafood Toastada as the combination of the ceviche and the aji panca blended so well!
It was a special occasion and a gathering of old friends. Our server Sam and the rest of the team absolutely smashed the celebration and made it a memorable night that we will talk about for years. Food, service, experience, and special touch. First time exceeded all expectations and it certainly won't be the last time we visit!
Denver does not disappoint when it comes to the agave spirit culture. Check the photos and that's all you need to know. Great atmosphere, great service and food. Anytime you find a Fortaleza Winter Blend 2021 and 2022 on the menu, you know you have a winner folks. Especially when the bartender has you sample them for free. Not sure if it was my Fortaleza t-shirt that I was wearing or my international man of mystery vibes (jk) but whatever it was it worked. Can't remember the bartender's name but big shout out. I will be back. Trust! *The wings although pricey were legit. Recommended. Updated review. I was there for a 3rd time during my Denver visit (Thanksgiving Week). It's pretty sad when I call the place in advance to ask a tequila question and they know who you are 🤪. But the service was once again great and one of the bartenders was also a big Dallas Mavericks fan which was pretty impressive. I will be back soon Senor Beaaaar! Better have my tequila available. 👀
I was told this was the best brunch place in Denver and boy was that not an understatement. Señor Bear is five star in every way. The service was the best ever with an attentive, knowledgeable, and fun server, the food was lick-your-plate delicious, and the cocktails were to die for! I can’t wait to go back every week!
Friends have been telling me to come here for a while so I finally checked it out. SO WORTH IT! We got the ceviche and burrata plates for appetizers. Amazing! Then pork pernil for an entree. It was basically a pork chop, which we weren’t expecting, but it was very good. Arroz con coco is baller if you like coconut. And Patatas are a must. The bill was a little pricey, but I’ve paid more for terrible meals so I’m fine paying the price for A+ food that is delicious. Our server was so nice and attentive as well. All around Señor Bear gets a very solid 5-stars from me 💯
This place is full of flavor and fun !! Such a great experience, atmosphere, service and food were exceptional!! We choose several things of the menu , prawns , roasted chicken, pork carnitas, rice and a churro doe dessert. We shared family style and the whole family raved about the food ! So delish ! If we lived in the area this place would definitely a go to spot for us ! Highly recommend !!
We came late (10pm). Service (Sam) was STELLAR! We had the pescado (red snapper) and it was amazing. Margs were great! Definitely coming back to try the carnitas. MUST have the churros.
amazing spot for cocktails and small bites. señor bear also has a great happy hour, one of my favorites. the croquetas and mezcal margarita are a MUST!
Second time here for brunch. Had chilaquiles and comida completa on this trip. Both very good! The potatoes are crispy and super tasty… can you make a bowl with potatoes? Fan of the bread too! Where does it come from? When the basic things are this good, just think how delicious it all can be! The ambiance, drinks, and staff were all great too!
This place is seriously one of the best places to eat in Denver. The 4 of us got the Bear Basket, where the chef makes whatever and brings it out and it was amazing, a great chicken and pork dish!
My fiance and I just spent Christmas Eve here and had the loveliest time. We ordered the “bear basket” which is a 4-course chefs’ choice dinner. Every course was amazing. The tamales were heavily filled and fluffy, and the bison ribs with papas bravas was divine. Churros were a great way to end the meal as well. Drinks were well made and quick to arrive. I regret not taking down the servers name, because he was also great! Very attentive and knowledgeable. He walked us through each course in great detail. 10/10. Will be back!
We went for happy hour, ONE hour after they opened at 4pm. They open at 3pm and were already 99% packed/full on a Friday. We ordered from the happy hour menu only, and ordered every item but 1. Not pictured is the seafood of the day tostada- which tasted incredible & I ate it so fast! Will definitely return for a full meal.
I wouldn’t change one single thing about the dinner & drinks we got at Señor Bear *chef’s kiss*. We got the POG Marg & Kiwi drink, Ceviche app, the roasted Halibut and grilled carrots for main and churros for dessert. We came back for HH and thought the HH menu was just okay.
Food was delicious in this clean and modern restaurant. Thankyou Sebastian (head chef that day) your team killed it :) The pictures don't do the flavours justice!! The service was wonderful to, with attentive bar and wait staff. I wish I could remember our bar mans name! He was so helpful and knowledgeable with the menu, able to give us delicious reccomendations!!! And I rarely have dessert but the authentic churros were a delight :) I'll definatley be going back!!!
We went in for some drinks after dinner and Chris was our bartender! He was absolutely amazing. I appreciate him wanting to mix up any concoction that came to mind. I was craving a spicy coconut to a spicy cucumber margarita and even though it wasn’t on the menu he made it happen. Can’t wait to come back!!
Very greatful for Virginia thinking outside the box, first my family had a show to catch and our daughter decided to join us for dinner. Virginia hear us and made it happen! Excellent Customer service, best Peruvian food in the Denver Metro area, kid friendly for early family dinner and a show night. Will definitely be coming back and will make sure to look ahead with a better reservation. Cheers Senor Bear.
Food was fab. The braised lamb and pork chop dishes with the coconut rice side were just absolutely wonderful with their tastes, flavor, heat, spice, and overall combination. It was what my mouth needed. I can only imagine what the rest of the menu tastes like as well as their brunch menu. Would return on the food, location, and ambiance alone. The automatic 20% surcharge for equitable pay for the entire staff, which is disclosed in accordance with the law, is a bit steep but understand why it is in place all things considered in Denver. However, at the end of the meal when all is tallied, it and the expectation to include a front of the house tip on top of the surcharge puts a damper on things a bit when signing off on the final bill. To me, it does not take away from the food or experience, but folks should be aware of the financial implications at hand.
Had a great time sitting at the bar and chatting with the bartender when it was slow. Food was excellent and they had really nice drinks as well. I probably ordered one too many dishes but was happy to try everything! Will be coming back for more.
Okay decided I want some snacks/small plates and a drink and went to Senor Bear on a whim not knowing anything about the background or what type of place it was and while I’m not disappointed I can’t say it’s 5 stars. I’d give it a 4.3 or a 4.5 overall. I had the rice nigiri which was pretty solid, for 9$ you get 2 pieces but for nigiri I was expecting more..: nigiri and less fried rice. The rice was fried and good, but took away from what could have been a good combination of complex flavors. Then I got the papaya and that was a good blend of sweet with a SLIGHT hint of spice at the end that stays on your tongue. I’ll say the food was good but not sure if I found it worth it the price point. Had to get a digestivo so I got the Mini Negroni and well…. If you like mezcal and you like Negroni you’ll like this. No complaints it was exactly what I expected. Overall, this is a nice date spot or a special occasion place when it’s not happy hour. When it’s not happy hour I’m not sure I’d casually walk in but happy hour has much more reasonable prices. Overall this is a solid place, I don’t think you’ll be disappointed but I’m not sure I can say I’d give it 5 stars for the price I paid. It is cool they include 20% on every bill too make sure the staff gets paid so can’t be mad about it that. Overall good spot but not somewhere I’d go casually unless it’s happy hour
Been wanting to try the Oso sister restaurant for a bit! Super cute place and crazy easy to get a reservation on a Sunday night. A little bit pricier than Oso but the dishes were def more upscale. More of a Latin influence. Margs were great! Ceviche was good too but not as good as Oso. We shared the tostada dip which was decent. For entree we got Caesar and shared the steak. The Caesar was delicious and loved how creamy and chopped it is. Steak was cooked well too. Could've gone w more chimichurri and the portions were pretty small. Finished with tres leches and that was delicious!! Was a good meal but not that impressive for the price. I prefer Oso!
The service was great. Shaina was knowledgeable and had suggestions and accommodations for those with nut allergies, lactose intolerance, and vegetarians all of which were in our party. The horchata was a 11/10!! it was not like Horchata I’ve ever had. It was made with coconut milk or cream and toasted coconut on top. The second one we got had rum in it and we should not have done that. It’s way better without the rum. Papaya/mango app 8/10 Burrata & corn with plantain chips 10/10 Coconut rice 7/10 Tomato & avocado salad-6/10. The tomatoes themselves were perfectly ripe and delicious. The avocado purée was lacking Papas(loaded fingerlings)-7.5/10 We were cruising along great, and then the entrées came. Four of us ordered the picanha with the chimichurri sauce. And all four of us were highly disappointed. I would give it a 3/10. The french fries that came with it 9/10. Garlic aioli-6/10 tasted too much like mayonnaise The chimichurri sauce 7.5/10 The picanha 1/10. It was so grisly and hard to cut and hard too chew, that after sawing off three bites I was too frustrated and disappointed to eat anymore. For $50, this should have been at least a 7/10. I would go back for the horchata and apps and shareable, but not for the entrees.
Señor Bear is a great spot in Denver, and I’ve had a few fun evenings there. We started with the queso and guac, which were both so good—fresh, flavorful, and the perfect way to kick off the meal. The cocktails were another highlight—creative, well-balanced, and a great complement to the food. Our bartender was knowledgeable and was able to steer us in the right direction with our choices. We did try the ceviche, and while it wasn’t our favorite (very bland), it didn’t take away from the overall experience. The rest of the menu has so much to offer, and we’re excited to come back and try more dishes. The atmosphere is vibrant and lively, making it a great place for a night out with friends or a date. Even when it’s busy, it feels fun and welcoming. If you’re looking for bold flavors, great drinks, and a fun vibe, Señor Bear is definitely worth checking out. We’ll be back for sure!
With the growing food scene here in Denver there is always a new spot popping up. Señor Bear is one that you should definitely check out. Good service and hospitality! We enjoyed our experience. They've got a selective short menu of good food options many of which are vegan! Plenty of tasty drinks to choose from as well. Their dishes are packed with unique flavors and is what I would consider an upscale Mexican fusion type of place. Great location close to downtown and good for walking around.
Had a great experience at señor bear for brunch this afternoon. My partner and I were very happy with some NA beverages: virgin Bloody Mary and a strawberry horchata. And our breakfast dishes were excellent! I got the chilaquiles which were better than I expected. We sat at the bar and the staff was attentive and kind. I had the same bartender the last time I came in (back in June) and I think it says a lot about an establishment when the employees stick around. The prices are a little high, but I understand inflation is hitting restaurants especially hard right now. We’ll be back soon!
Overall, food tasted good and we got good service from our waiter, but I took a star because some of the dishes didn’t meet our expectations. The guac was very salty and the “chorizo parrillero” dish wasn’t chorizo, it was a german sausage. We liked the dish regardless, but we ordered that because of the specific meat/flavors. We also had a side of potatoes that the menu indicates it comes with mojo, but unfortunately there was not mojo (at least not the traditional mojo from the Canary Islands, Spain), just some dry mild-spicy spices on top. Ceviche and mezcal margarita were on point, though.
Came when they opened at 3pm on a Sat. Didn't realize they only serve happy hour food and full bar from 3 to 5pm. Will have try again for their dinner at 5pm. Happy hour food was tasty and service was great.
Really good food, but this came out to $100+/person including tip. The taste and quality is not even close to warranting these prices. Prices are pretty tall because entrees and sides are separate, so you need to spend $40 for a dish and then supplement it with a $10-$20 side. Drinks are also $10-$20 per drink. Also good, but not good enough to warrant price imo. All in all I think the prices should be cut by 60% to warrant going to. I can probably find better food for that price around the area even. I can beat out the steak and pork dishes at home (I’d MAYBE pay $20-$30 for this, not $40-$60) Not trying to throw this place under the rug, but man, it’s a little insulting they think the food warrants these prices. Like you’d have to really not get around in the food scene to believe this food is anywhere close to their pricing. You can also beat these out at home with a little practice. I would come back for happy hour drinks and that coconut rice, was absolutely excellent. I wouldn’t take people here - as the business people from NY and Chicago genuinely think it’s some sort of scam because of the pricing lol.
I have to give a huge shout out to our server. Honestly, saved the experience. Had the corn and burrata. This was fine. Sort of felt small for a shareable but it is Denver. Also had the lamb dish. Honestly, not 100% sure it was lamb. What ever meat it was, it was the toughest piece of meat I have eaten. I lesser human might have just quit on the spot. I wish they would just do their happy hour menu all night.
So first time being here. Its cute but was super smokey so was sitting inside in a tight space but we moved to outside. Outside was good and was warm at one point (probably need to get more heaters as winter approaches)! Ordered the bread which was horrible 4/10, friend ordered the jersey chicken and wasnt a fan they did recommend sharing plates. It tasted like chicken not jerk so 6/10. Coconut rice which wasnt done all the way 7/10 and I ordered the special steak w fries and salad which was the star food and was a solid 8.9/10. The cocktails were fantastic recommend the the jabroni! Usually take pictures but talked a lot!
Honestly, and truly, some of the best wait staff I’ve experienced in recent memory. However, every time I go to a restaurant and there’s only five or six items generally, it doesn’t bode well for me. I will say that the queso dip was very good. The enchiladas were absolutely horrible. I couldn’t identify if I was eating eggs or jackfruit or something else. The turkey sandwich had tons of fat in. I’m not even convinced that it was turkey. But again, let me stress how great the wait staff was. I just don’t think I would come back here because of the food however, the drinks were delicious.
I've got some choice words for the owners and Culinary Creative Group that I can't write here. Your 20% service charge and not verbally informing customers of it... I can't think of a better way to flash boil someone's blood. Reading your menu for miscellaneous service charges isn't a binding contract. That's not how it works. That's not how any reasonable consumer behaves (and that's provable in court). Your own employees are suing you for this exact policy. And I can't wait to make it worse for you. Moreover, we asked to move tables because my friend is deaf in one ear and we couldn't hear each other, and the petulant toddler of a waiter sulked and begrudgingly moved us, made a dramatic show of resetting the table, and then slighted us by hitting every other table before even considering returning to us for drinks (even though he had started to ask us that before we moved). Then the second server tried to peddle us some garbage phone app to pay for the meal. I'm on the phone tomorrow shopping attorneys who want this fat, greasy class action. I don't care what technicalities and "guaranteeing a good experience for our staff and customers" excuses you hide behind, your days are numbered. I've half a mind to go to law school myself and make a career of eating corps like Culinary Creative Group for breakfast.
