We visited soon after the opening for a lunch meeting. The staff were very friendly and courteous. The food was very good. Having dined with a local, it is a nice addition to Douglas and looking forward to seeing the full restaurant reopening.

Food was really good. i staff so friendly. place was spotless clean. was there in a sunday evening so wasnt too busy. will return again.

Food was very tasty. Everyone from barman to waiting staff very friendly. They just opened so a few tweaks needed with service but that will settle. I would recommend for a great atmosphere over the weekend.

Dined here on a saturday night, great atmosphere and the staff were very attentive. The food was good quality.

I'll just say I went there about 3 weeks ago and the menu was shocking I wouldn't recommend it to my dog, but went there with my friend last night again and they had a special menu my god more of this we had this curry with lime and coriander rice and probably the best stake sandwich and a butter chicken burger so I'm told 😀sorry I never got pictures but we will definitely return as the staff was lovely and the food was amazing keep this up it's definitely a right start if I was to recommend losing that old menu and keep making amazing food well done everyone

When I was a young boy I was in a terrible car accident. I died on the operating table but the doctors managed to revive me. After that day I lost my sense of taste, along with my ability to gain an erection. When I ate here last Friday it felt like I had finally tasted food again for the first time in years and when I returned home I was hard as a rock, thank you.

I visited The Village today with my 5 year old son and was pleasantly surprised, the restaurant and bar area looked modern and fresh, we were greeted and seated quickly by Aisling our waitress who was very nice, I got a steak sandwich and my son got the kids burger with wings to share, the food was amazing all the staff were tentative aswel as kind I will be back!

Great services, the food was delicious and lovely atmosphere. The renovations are great. Will definitely be back.

Best food and shopping

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I had the pleasure of dining at this new restaurant, and it was such a lovely experience! From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere felt warm and welcoming. The staff were attentive and genuinely friendly, which made the whole visit even more enjoyable. The food was absolutely delicious – every dish was full of flavor, fresh, and beautifully presented. You can really tell that care and attention go into the cooking here. Portion sizes were just right, and everything came out at the perfect temperature. I’ll definitely be coming back soon, and I’d recommend it to anyone looking for a great meal in a relaxed and inviting setting.

Booked the restaurant (upstairs) this time for a change. Love the new look upstairs as well. Very comfortable and relaxed atmosphere. We were looked after really well with prompt, friendly service. The food for the most part was really good. One of the Monkfish orderers even said it was exceptional! My duck confit was very tasty and others were really happy with their chicken and fish dishes. The only slight criticism was that the chips left a slight aftertaste and that it might have been a different oil used in the cooking. Desserts were fab too. This bar/ restaurant is well worth a visit and is a definite plus for the area. I hope it continues to do well. Did I mention the lovely staff??!

Great experience from a table of 9. The new owner has done a fantastic job of the decor, the food was lovely & staff were friendly & attentive. Would highly recommend a visit!

This place is brand new and has huge potential, especially with the restaurant opening in a couple of weeks time on the second floor. We were very happy with Village burger and caeser salad, plus the chips were great. One improvement to be made is the choice in music. A mixture of naughties pop with Olly murs, James Morrison, awful xfactor winning songs and some country on a BH Sunday afternoon won't help ye out so please work on the playlist. For what this place is, chill to lively instrumental music, Jazz or light indie rock would suit the vibes its trying to be. Service was great and we will be back

Our family of 8 had our christmas get together in the Village having heard its under new management. It was busy, good atmosphere and we enjoyed the food. What disappointed us was the place turned into a disco the music drowned out all conversation and we up a went to a nearby pub to finish our evening. So thanks for the food but turn down the volume

I visited The Village in Douglas, Cork, and overall I was really impressed. The food was very good and the staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. You can see it’s a new place that has taken over from the famous East Village, and they’ve done a great job with the decor – the interior is modern, comfortable and nicely designed. Under normal circumstances I would have no problem giving this place 4 stars. However, there was one thing that really surprised me and left me with mixed feelings. In the men’s bathroom, there is a CCTV camera positioned above the urinals. I can understand having security cameras at the entrance to the toilets or in general areas, especially if this were a nightclub, but over the urinals in a restaurant? I found this quite unusual and honestly a bit uncomfortable. I’m not sure if this is even legal, but it definitely affected my overall impression of the place. Apart from that, The Village is a very nice venue with great food and service, but being monitored that closely, even in the toilet, makes me hesitant about returning.

The place looks lovely on the inside but the food was not great. The chips weren't nice and the pasta came out a little cold. It definitely seems like growing pains and could improve as they are just opened.

The place is beautiful and the atmosphere was great, but at the bar most of the bartenders were rude. I’m not sure if it’s due to their youth, bad mood, or something else, but everyone at my table experienced the same issue on different occasions and with different staff members. They had bad attitudes and the service was not pleasant.

Very disappointed waiting over an hour for food order wellington and they came 30 mins after ordering saying they don’t have it. Replace it pan fried salmon which was nice other dinners were lovely

Burger and chips were lukewarm

Place was empty on a Saturday afternoon. I ordered the burger and asked did it come with any additional toppings on the burger since I have dietary intolerances and was assured the menu was accurate. I ordered the burger which came with Bacon and Cheese neither of which were listed. I just sent it back and had the chips ( which I was charged for and covered in salt ). I just think the unclear menu is a recipe for disaster if someone has a serious allergy. My partner had the roast which she said was dry.

Place looks really fancy but clearly overcompensating for service and food. Would not recommend, service was poor. Also on second occasion my younger brother was refused service for a tracksuit pants. Yet half the customers were dressed the same but residents in the hotel. Make up your mind.

For 14.50 got a squashed toastie few crisps and a bit of lettuce, Thin ham from a packet in the other toastie and a bit of cheese and tomato Kids got burger and chips, chips were just grease For a new pub its a shame .won't be going back

So disappointed that the food was so awful…settings is beautiful however burgers and chips from the microwave fail to meet the quality (or price) Microwave ding ding will not last long anywhere. 😢😔

€16.50 for a pint of coors and a gin and tonic. Thumbs down - such a shame
