My husband and I love eating here and supporting this family owned business!! Veronica’s never disappoints and the food, portions and prices are great!! Plus, everyone is so nice!! If you haven’t tried it, go check this cute little spot out!
Real juicy yummy American beef burger. Fries. Lemonade.
My mother had just eaten here a week Pryor, Sge hadv Ordered the breakfast burrito which had to poach eggs on top. And she was renting and raving over it and wanted me to come and try it with her. So the next weekend. I believe it was we visit. And it was all that my mother had said. It's a little bit different than you. Standard Mexican restaurant. It's more like a breakfast house. And that's where we gone at that time. Breakfast time and it was great. Good pricing rate service, great staff. Interesting, definitely worth stopping in and trying. . wanted me to try it
My kryptonite is screaming children, and there always seems to be at least one here, but that just underscores how family friendly and tasty this place is. Great burritos, awesome tamales (when they're still around--they sell out fast) and cold beer, err, I mean, horchata. Seriously, it's super good and affordable just go.
My wife and I visited her dad in Pine Valley and we were hungry afterwards, so gave this spot a try. We absolutely loved it and will certainly be coming back! I would even recommend taking a day trip from San Diego just to eat here and see the gorgeous country side.
The food is always awesome every time. Today they were grilling carne asada over mesquite on the outside smoker.
Amazing food at this hole in the wall location next to a gas station. Fresh chips and salsa were spectacular. Chicken enchilada and chimichanga were the best we had in the San Diego area. Take a drive on hwy 79 if you like winding roads. The triangle made by 79 and 80 with I-8 was a great top down drive.
My car was stuck in a ditch and I had to wait for a Tow. Luckily I was able to wait here. I am vegan and the were very helpful in creating a vegan off menu option for me. Excellent food, Great customer service. Pro tip : coverage is really poor up here and since most people are passing through to go hike 3 sisters, you can stop here on your way home to refuel and upload you pictures from the day.
We had a veggie burrito and a chile relleno burrito. Both were delicious, with noticeably fresher ingredients than most places I've been. They were pressed on the grill before being served, another nicer touch that's sometimes omitted. Good selection of hot sauces at the tables, too.
Cozy diner with a Mexican food menu. Food was very good. Reasonably priced and spacious seating.
Food was amazing and I like the small town vibe tou get at this place!
Grabbed a carne asada burrito. It was delicious! Good price.
Best Mexican restaurant food I had in at least a year!
Our first time to visit/eat here, while camping locally. Meet the owner,Veronica ,as she was our server. She is so friendly and hard working. Everything we ordered was delicious and fresh! I’m happy to recommend this place. The only thing missing was that she was out of flan ,which she only makes fresh on weekends.
I have been to so many of the "best" Mexican restaurants in San Diego. This one is better than all of them. In dozens of visits, I have never had anything that is less than amazing. I think Veronica may be some kind of magical wizard or something. All served up from a lovely and friendly family with amazing service. Veronica's is worth going out of your way.
Stopped by for breakfast, food was fantastic, reasonably priced, great service and clean restaurant. 10/10 would recommend
Stop by here on our way home from going hiking in the mountains. It was a great little spot to eat and the food was really well prepared fresh and exactly to our desire. It's always nice to be reminded how things can be slower and more friendly in the mountains. And this place definitely brings that to the table
We had the best experience eating here. I had the Lengua Ranchera and my friend had California Steak Burrito. Both were amazing. I can't decide which one I'll choose next time I go there. The service was great. Both the host and our server were friendly and accommodating. We had just hiked the Three Sisters, so we were kinda impatient for the food, but the appetizing nacho basket that came with the delicious salsa kept us occupied. The huge tortilla that came with my Ranchera was delectable and perfect for wiping off the Lengua sauce on my plate. The price was very reasonable too. I am already looking for more hikes in the area so I can have more post hike meals there.
What do you expect for a back country restaurant? The food is great. Veronica is very friendly and treats everyone as a best friend. My recommended dish... the carna asada nachos with the spicy nacho cheese.
Delicious foot and friendly staff. I the tacos are not small and can be made in a great variety of fixings. I had three and they filled me up quite nice. There is beer available and high quality micheladas can be made with whichever beer you would like. This is place is low key and not flashy or glamorous but the food and service speaks for itself. I look forward to my next visit here.
The food was very good. The staff was super nice. We didn't wait very long for our food. Small taco shop out in Descanso it is as good as it gets, which makes it awesome in my book. Veronica's would be just as good in North Park as it is out in East county next to a field of cows grazing.
The BEST tamales I've ever eaten! Great good, the chips and salsa were great, the beans and rice side dishes were good and the tamales were amazing 😍. This is my new favorite Mexican restaurant! 💗
Kind beautiful staff, Amazing food & great atmosphere. Just minutes off the 8, this hidden gem's worth checking out. Thanks again guys!
Great smiles, friendly service, enjoyable time. Food took a bit of time to come out but it always came out hot ready and fresh. Came back for more, tacos were awesome, top 4 for me. Veronica's smile does wonders and greetings make this place feel very welcoming.
This is an ABSOLUTE MUST HAVE💕 Veronica is so sweet and just so nice to everyone! The food is the best Mexican food I've had in San Diego. They had a vegan burrito that was delicious. Everything was hand made and you could tell. If you go to three sisters falls stop here after for lunch! Includes a patio
This place just had me totally off guard, so surprised about how good the food was here, just amazing! I did not even suspect that tacos and burrito could be so good, and I am comparing to around 20-30 places where I ate at in Mexico. Superb food, good portions, excellent and friendly service, thanks for unforgettable experience!
Here 11 years and I just found it! Family owned and operated...so friendly, excellent service and the HOMEMADE food to die for! The flavors of the Chile relleno was amazing!! GO HERE!!!
Delicious food. Outstanding customer service. We had sopes, street tacos and tostadas with ceviche. All was yummy!
Excellent food and service after a good hike at Green Valley Falls. The carne asada was very flavorful and you can taste the difference the wood fired grill outside makes. We were provided chips and salsa for our table that were very tasty as well. The hot sauces were great as well, especially the guacachile. The staff were very helpful and attentive. I will definitely come back again.
Me and my little poodle mix cycled in the camping in the mountains of eastern San Diego area . We spotted a store , with a restaurant on the side . We went in and had great breakfast sandwich , made differently than I had seen before , it was delicious 😋 . Great service and food 👍 .
Hits the spot after a hike, good veggie burrito, and great salsa! they mentioned they use lard in their beans and chicken in the rice fyi

I love these small independent family owned restaurants! We had a delicious lunch at Veronica’s, I had the carnitas tacos and my wife the flautas. Rice and beans a notch above most! Atmosphere is inviting hole in the wall vibe. Loved it. ❤️

The food is delicious and flavorful. The staff are sweet and attentive. We came in with a pretty big party, and they were fast and friendly! I love this place.
This is an awesome Mexican restaurant in the mountains. The food is amazing and the location is pretty cool too. Very comfortable. I will be back. I had the Chicken Adobo Burrito and Meatball Soup - each was really delicious.
5 stars and 5 stars only. Veronica's refried beans r top 3 in all of SD county. Topped with shredded cheddar and mexican cotija cheese. Getting a large tub of this for home will satisfy any craving.
Best borrito ever. Super location to start a great bike ride. As soons as possible I'll get back to enjoy that real life time experience food
Mexican restaurant with American Breakfast sandwiches and Mexican breakfast burritos, and authentic Mexican lunch and dinner options. Family owned & operated. :)
Greeted with a smile! Absolutely delicious food! Great Customer Service and priced right. Thank you for a wonderful experience. I enjoyed the authentic older Mexican music 🎶👍 I would have added pictures but I was so hungry and it looked so delicious I couldn't wait. It was! Don't miss out! 😊
Food was incredible, and the staff was really kind and amazing! Highly recommend getting the street tacos. The asada was cooked to perfection.
I had the breakfast burrito w/chorizo and potatoes. I also tried the horchta (yum!) The burrito was tops. The chorizo was tender and seasoned to perfection. The potatoes were awesome too. Chips were freshly made and the salsa was rich in tomato flavor. The staff was friendly and helpful. A gem off the 79. Thank you 🌯

Food was delicious and hot. Made to order. The hot tortilla chips were great.
This was my first time getting food from here. I went inside to pick up my order and was pleasantly greeted by the hostess and my order was ready to go. The food was just, OK. My mushroom Swiss burger was overcooked and the bun was burnt. The burrito I ordered was pretty good with lots of great flavor. Since this was my only experience with Veronica's Kitchen, I'll have to give them another try to see if this was a one off.
Good atmosphere and good service. It was a good stop after hiking in the area. They had a few vegetarian options which was nice. We ordered the breakfast burrito with no meat- it was ok- but I wonder if most of the spices is in the meat. Our burrito lacked salt or spices of any kind. Would stop there again and try the vegetarian burrito next!

I always like to support small business specially in small towns like here but The lady at cash register had an attitude and rude when taking our order. The have a white board hanging on the wall with the menu. I asked for number VI on the menu she replied by asking "what is number VI" I was like Steak N fries she said "I dont know the menu, what is it?" I said again "Steak with Fries", I also asked if they can substitute the fries for rice and beans instead which the lady taking the order said "yes" i also asked for no sourcream, and the guacamole can go on the side, however this is how it was served. (See pic) In addition we asked for chips and salsa while we waited to get our food however everything came together after 20 minutes of waiting. Pay the extra $$ and go somewhere else. Food has no flavor, the steak was cut in small pieces and was hard to eat their salsa has no flavor I think the only item that was okay was their Horchata water. No sure who owns this place but please train your employees better!!
