SO SO cool. What a Brooklyn throwback you feel like you’re in the past but you’re very present in the moment. Atmosphere is phenomenal. Food is fantastic. Staff is wonderful.

Best food than anywhere else.
Delicious!
Truly great team 😍
Very professional and pleasant dining experience.
Great seafood. Excellent service. White linen tablecloths. No specials at bar. Would like to see a Happy Hour.
Offbeat and amazing. Food is worth it.
Sipping Martinis and savoring delicious crab cakes while sitting next to a crackling fire…doesn’t get much better than that! A+ Red Hook winter spot!!
Okay, whoever is cooking in the kitchen really knows flavors. Super kudos to the kitchen. Classic dishes executed very well. Balanced seasoning of harmonies coming together in my tastebuds. Temperature hot right out of the kitchen. Local ingredients with simple presentations that make sense and showcase itself. The hospitality warm, welcoming, attentive. Restaurant itself is beautiful with a great vibe. You know when you leave a restaurant and you feel on a cloud.. ...very satisfied...content.. This is my favorite restaurant in the city.
Wonderful revival of the Original. It's great that they still have the well known dinner specials which give you a good chance to sample a bit of everything including clam bisque, and a butterscotch Sunday to share with the table. Portions were good sized for the price and offer the opportunity to share. We will definitely be back.
Please let the red berry salad with goat cheese stay on the menu forever. We came for seafood (as well as to experience the historic relevance of the restaurant) and I was caught off guard with how good that salad is. The Rhode Island style calamari was also a banger. Next time I come here, my friend and I will be trying what I’m dubbing the “Lundy’s challenge” - porterhouse steak for 2 followed by huckleberry pie for 2. High hopes aren’t needed because this place is guaranteed to always be good.
Like remaking a classic film, there's always a risk when you attempt to reboot an iconic restaurant. I grew up in Sheepshead Bay, and visits to Lundy's were frequent. The cavernous space could feed 2000 people at a sitting, and the biscuits, bisque, shore dinners and huckleberry pie were legendary. Lundy Bros is a "blue cheese olive" restaurant, as I like them in my Chopin on the rocks and use it a a descriptor of the quality of the restaurant. The seafood tower to start was excellent, brimming with fresh, meaty oysters, shrimp and lobster. The biscuits were spot on, as was the bisque, my perfectly cooked salmon, and the huckleberry pie. I disagree that the space "looks dated". I think it looks classy in a charming, nostalgic way. But, the big question: Was Lundy Bros as good as the original Lundy's? No. It was better.
Wow! The food was simply fantastic! All the classics were perfectly prepared, and the service is just lovely. Terrific cocktails too and everything at a pretty fair price. Very comfortable table and chairs—no one rushing us! We’plan be back!
Went for a birthday dinner and hope to become a regular. The biscuits to start are magic. Loved the old school ambiance. Everything we ate was delicious: Rhode Island style calamari, seafood tower, house chicken, Lundy’s potatoes, and chocolate mousse to start.
Lundy Restaurant in Brooklyn is a delightful new addition to the neighborhood, having just opened a week ago. With few reviews available, we decided to give it a try simply because it’s nearby and, conveniently, we could find parking. What a lucky choice that turned out to be! From the moment we entered, it felt like stepping into someone’s welcoming home. The warm greeting at the door set the tone for a cozy, rustic atmosphere. The crackling fireplace and a faint woodsy aroma added to the charm, reminding me of the now-closed Savoy in SoHo, but with its own unique character. The dining room had a festive Christmas vibe, with cheerful decorations and twinkling lights. A nearby table celebrating a birthday added to the sense of shared joy, making it feel like everyone was part of a collective holiday celebration. We opted for the $75 set dinner, and the experience was exceptional. Our waitress, Priya (apologies if the spelling isn’t quite right), was outstanding—friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive. She took her time explaining each dish, making us feel well cared for. The meal itself was a treat. We started with the Sheepshead Bay lobster bisque, oysters, and baked clams, all of which were delicious and perfectly prepared. For the main course, the roasted chicken was juicy and flavorful, while the catch-of-the-day fish (unfortunately, I forgot its name) was baked to perfection, with seasoning that highlighted its fresh, delicate flavors. Dessert and coffee provided the perfect ending to an already satisfying meal. Although I never experienced the original Lundy’s at Sheepshead Bay, this new iteration feels like a worthy tribute. It combines a welcoming atmosphere with excellent food and thoughtful service. We’re fortunate to have this gem in the neighborhood, and I look forward to returning soon. Highly recommended!
My husband and I, Gerritsen Beach natives, had our first date at Lundy’s on Emmon’s Ave in Brooklyn. Now, 25 years later we couldn’t be happier to again go to the new Lundy’s in Red Hook. The food was amazing! The drinks were perfect, especially the Old Fashioned. Definitely, try the linguine with clams!
Amazing seafood (our favorite in the area), great drinks, chill vibe. Staff is incredible.
Amazing new addition to the neighborhood. Fresh oysters and shrimp cocktail were spot on and the burger one of the best I’ve had. Loved the flounder special and the homemade caramel sundae for desert were spot on.
11/10. You will love it here. The food is top notch, the hospitality is so genuine, the music and ambiance is authentically charming, and the opportunity to catch a glimpse of the nation’s top restaurant in the 1930’s is one of those rare experiences you’ll never forget.
The food is delicious. The service great. Prices may high for many. Very d mall. If Quits are served. .o price for them on menu nor does server ssy Ou g party of four requested more and were surprised when charged for them.
Had a great time celebrating my birthday. Wonderful service and delicious food!
We were there a few weeks ago. What a wonderful venue. We spoke to the owners who are lovely people that only want to please you . The food is exceptional and the place is warm and beautiful. The chowder or clam bisque was like the old Lundys The pie alamode was great. .
Excellent! I go there at least once a month. The food and service is fantastic! highly recommended 👌. BEST SEAFOOD IN BROOKLYN ! I would go more often if it wasn't so far from my home.
Great date night or big group spot! Really good winter vibe. Coming back soon.
Everything about our experience was perfect from the food to the service and the overall atmosphere. We were a group of five and each one of us loved our meals! Don’t miss out on this wonderful dining experience.
Excellent all the way around. The prices were fine except for the lobster we had. The 1.5 lb I was charged $90. My fault should have asked but my feeling $60 was correct number.
I didn't think the original could be dupli cated. I was wrong. The quality of food, the service and the atmosphere was nothing short of wonderful. I look forward to going again.
My first experience at Lundy bros was amazing, food was delightful, portions are amazing as well as the service and atmosphere. Will return frequently

A wonderful nostalgic experience! Food was really good, definitely recommend the porterhouse, calamari, seafood tower and huckleberry pie. The drinks were done really as well. Lundy’s reminded me a lot of old school Brooklyn - with the ambiance and food. Definitely worth checking out for an authentic Brooklyn experience.
Had a wonderful time at Lundy's. The food was lovely and our waitress was an Angel. Will have to make my way back there for dinner another evening.
Lundy’s exceeded expectations. The atmosphere was nice, and the seafood was fresh and cooked perfectly. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. We will be back!
Came here for Mother’s Day with my family and had an incredible experience! From the moment we walked in, Sandra greeted us like we’ve known her for years and the rest of the staff had the same warmth. The service was excellent all around. And we loved everything we ate — the Rhode Island calamari is a must, the pork chop Milanese was a hit and we enjoyed the shore dinners too. Everything was fresh and you could tell that there was time and effort put into each dish. I know we’ll all be back soon and definitely with a visit!
Happy Memories made at this lovely restaurant and we are still dreaming about our dinner and going back soon. A new favorite place to celebrate special occasions. We went for our wedding anniversary based on the recommendation of a friend, and as soon as we entered, we knew we had arrived at an extraordinary place. (Parking was pretty easy- we got a spot across the street on a beautiful summer Saturday evening.) Simultaneously elegant, charming and welcoming with a laid back vibe. The service was excellent and the staff was friendly, attentive, kind. Food and drinks arrived quickly though we did not feel rushed in any way. The cocktails were fun- I had the delightful Swedish fish- and I loved drinking out of the playful fish glass! Food was outstanding. The baked clams were incredible. For the entree, I enjoyed the crab cakes, the remoulade was scrumptious- I savored every bite. My husband ordered the surf and turf- everything cooked to perfection- we shared the creamed spinach and mashed potatoes as well- and so glad we did. We thought we were full until we saw the dessert menu. So decadent! Plan to return- this is a restaurant where you can bring children, (we noticed some families there) but equally wonderful for a date night or celebration. Bring someone you love here!
Everything was perfect at Lundy's! The food was delicious (we had the Shore dinner with Roasted Chicken). The RobRoy cocktail was outstanding! Service was outstanding! Decor was a beautiful: combination of historic and today. I can't wait to go back! See you there!
Absolutely blown away by our experience at Blondie’s! From the moment we walked in, we were treated to not only incredible food and stunning presentation, but also warm, thoughtful hospitality that made the evening truly unforgettable. The food was nothing short of spectacular—every dish was crafted with care, beautifully plated, and bursting with flavor. You can tell the kitchen takes great pride in every detail. Whether it was a small plate or a main course, each bite felt like a work of art. Corinne at the bar deserves special praise—what an absolute gem! She’s not just friendly—she’s a bundle of joy, radiating warmth and energy that makes you feel like a longtime friend the moment you sit down. Her recommendations were spot on, and her cocktails? Out of this world. Ray, our server, was attentive, kind, and made sure we felt well taken care of throughout the meal. He had just the right balance of professionalism and warmth, adding to the relaxing, welcoming vibe of the evening. And a big thank you to Amina, the hostess, who greeted us with such genuine kindness and made us feel right at home from the very first moment. It’s clear that hospitality is a priority at Blondie’s, and every member of the team lives up to that standard. This place is a gem—fabulous food, impeccable service, and a team that truly loves what they do. Can’t wait to return!
I came here with my family for my wife's birthday and it did not disappoint. My father always talked of the original lundys so when we heard they were opening in redhook we had to come. They start off with homemade biscuits which were delicious. Then for starters we got handbreaded fresh mozzarella, Rhode Island style calamari, cast iron colossal shrimp and deviled eggs with crab. Everything was delicious, but the Rhode island calamari was the standout. Then for the mains we did the crab cakes and the linguine with clams. They were both good but the linguine with clams was the best I've ever had outside of Italy and at least as good as what I had in Italy. We also had creamed spinach and mac and cheese as our sides which were both good. For dessert we had the cast iron cookie and the Huckleberry pie, both of which was good but the Huckleberry pie is something you don't see often and was absolutely delicious. The cocktails we had were tasty and strong. The vibe was old school upscale brooklyn and I loved it. We will definitely be back!
Born and raised just minutes away from the original Lundy's on Emmons Ave in Brooklyn, we jumped at the opportunity to dine at this new Lundy's spot. It did not disappoint. Our hosts Sandra and Matt were lovely and beaming with pride at the chance to share this bit of old world dining with the public. Even the sommelier was eager to impart some stories about the place along with his knowledge of wine. We had the Chilean Sea Bass, Lobster and Truffle Mash and the Porterhouse Steak. Everything was delicious and beautifully presented. The drinks were also superb. The attention to detail throughout the place was not lost on us. We are happy to have shared this little slice of Brooklyn with our out of town friends and will definitely be back!
Amazing experience! We were greeted with such amazing service. The food was delicious and were large portions. We really enjoyed the wide variety of drinks on the menu. My favorite was the surf & turf. The atmosphere was very relaxed and easygoing. 10/10 recommend it here for any night! 😋
Nothing beats Lundy’s on a cold day! We’ve been here a few times at this point, and it’s just got this wonderful old school feel; both in the portion size and the quality and offerings of dishes, but also in the warmth of the atmosphere and service. This time we got the arugula salad (the dressing actually reminded me a lot of the lemon curd in lemon meringue pie! In a really good sweet, savory way) and the calamari as appetizers. We also got the Milanese (spectacular portion, and the collaboration chili sauce that comes with it. It’s such a good touch) and the famous chicken and obviously finished with the huckleberry pie. This restaurant is a continuous series of hits, and we will continue to come here for as long as possible!
It’s been a few months since I’ve been to a place as special as Lundy’s. I wish I came here sooner! First off, the vibe inside is cozy and old school. Really feels like you’re thrown back a bit in time to old Brooklyn. Everything we had during the evening was delicious but some highlights are the French onion soup and the calamari. I loved my burger as well but I was just so full by the end of the meal. The crab cake was also delicious and fresh, probably the meatiest crab cake I had to date. I’d 100% come back to Lundy’s soon to try out a few more options on their menu and get some of the classics. I actually think I might become a regular here! I wish we took down our waiters name since he was so helpful picking out some items on the menu and was very attentive. If you’re reading this, definitely come and visit Lundy’s, you won’t regret it!
I celebrated my son’s bday dinner last night. I was running a little behind due to traffic. I called to let them know. A really nice lady answered and was so sweet. When we walked in, we got the warmest welcome from her. Her name is Debbie. I have a 10yrs old also and she immediately started having a conversation with her. When she sat us in the dinning room, she let us know there were 2 servers for the night with a 1 bus boy. She mentioned them by name and I loved that. We were attended to by Keith. He was such a gem. He recommended so really great choices for us. This is what we had. For drinks, my husband and my son had the Red Hook which they loved. I don’t drink so I had the Captain Jack Mocktail. Appetizers- Seafood Tower and Rhode Island Calamari. OMG the calamari is a must try. It has a little kick but you will thank me later. I little heat never hurt nobody. Dinner- we all shared the Gala Apple Salad, Porter House, Linguini and Clams, Lundy’s Potatoes, and Mac and Cheese. Dessert- The Butterscotch Sundae my daughter hogged, and the Lundy’s Huckleberry Pie. Now let me tell you. I do not eat huckleberry pie, but that one, I could not believe how tasty. The crust was hard and sweet and the filling had the right flavor. Not too sweet or tart. All throughout dinner my husband and my son kept saying how great the food was. It was truly amazing and the service was great, with only 3 working and staying attentive to several tables. I would definitely come back. Maybe for a girls night next time.
Dined here for my birthday. Everything was excellent. My mom had the calamari, flounder special that day, mashed potatoes and creamed spinach. I had the fried mozzarella, fish and chips, and a side of mac & cheese. Everything was amazing. The biscuits given in the beginning of dinner were a but salty but still good. Our waiter was excellent! I do wish that the menu stated that sides are shareable. We had sooo much food to go home with. Will definitely return!
My fiancé and I had an absolutely wonderful time at Lundy Bros, and a huge part of that was thanks to our amazing hostess and server, Corey. From the moment we sat down, Corey made us feel welcome and taken care of. He was warm, attentive, and incredibly knowledgeable about the menu offering great recommendations that turned out to be spot-on. The food was outstanding, the atmosphere was comfortable and inviting, and the service was truly exceptional. Corey checked in at all the right times, anticipated what we needed before we even had to ask, and added such a genuine, friendly energy to the whole evening. If you’re thinking about visiting Lundy Bros, do it and if you’re lucky enough to have Corey as your server, you’re in for a fantastic experience. We’ll definitely be back!
The restaurant is absolutely beautiful. The staff could not be more friendly. Food is absolutely delicious. The fish was cooked to perfection. Will definitely be back again.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A True Taste of Classic New York Walking into Lundy’s of Brooklyn feels like stepping back into a beautifully preserved piece of old New York. The classical decor, elegant, warm, and rich with history, immediately set the tone for what turned out to be an unforgettable dining experience. There’s a nostalgic charm in the air that made the night feel both special and timeless. We started with the clams and biscuits, which absolutely lived up to the hype, fresh, flavorful, and exactly the kind of comfort you want from a place that prides itself on them. The seafood tower was nothing short of a showstopper, immaculate presentation and every bite brimming with freshness. As a steak lover, I had to try the porterhouse, and I was blown away. It rivaled some of the best cuts I’ve had at the city’s most famous steakhouses, perfectly cooked, deeply flavorful, and generous in portion. The service was impeccable, attentive without being overbearing, and clearly staffed by people who care about the experience they’re providing. Lundy’s is one of those rare gems that manages to capture the soul of a bygone era. I’ll definitely be making this a regular stop.
A Slice of Nostalgic Heaven with a Modern Bite Step into Lindy’s of Brooklyn and you’re instantly transported—not just to another place, but another time. This is more than just a restaurant; it’s a living, breathing tribute to classic New York flavor, where tradition dances with innovation. From the moment the aroma of sizzling garlic knots hits you, you’re hooked. The pizza? A masterpiece. Thin, crisp crust, bubbling cheese, and sauce that’s kissed with just the right tang. But the menu doesn’t stop there. Lindy’s takes bold steps with inventive pasta dishes, stacked sandwiches, and desserts that will haunt your dreams (in the best way). The ambiance feels like your cool cousin’s retro hangout—neon lights, exposed brick, and a soundtrack that keeps your head nodding between bites. The staff? Genuine, fast, and passionate about every plate they bring out. It’s the kind of place you discover once, then crave forever. Whether you’re a Brooklyn native or a curious food explorer, Lindy’s doesn’t just feed you—it leaves a mark. A love letter to old-school flavor with a bold Brooklyn twist, this is the neighborhood gem you didn’t know you needed. One visit, and you’re part of the family.
I can’t say enough good things about Lundy’s! The attention to detail and commitment to quality is unbelievable. The pasta of the day was a veal ragù with fresh pappardelle pasta rolled in-house, deep flavors, and LOADED with fork-tender meat. The fish of the day was a perfectly cooked trout, and all of the seafood is brought in locally from across the bay in Belford and Highlands NJ or Brooklyn. We also had the cauliflower, pork milanese, Brussels sprouts (seasonal vegetable), spinach, and maple black pepper bacon. We really all said “WOW” after tasting each dish! The huckleberry pie was my favorite of the desserts. The service was perfect even with a full house. Super warm, comfortable, and happy atmosphere - perfect for a date or any kind of gathering. You really get your money’s worth here. We will absolutely be back!
We had one of the best dinner of our entire lives at Lundy’s last night. Absolutely everything we ate was delicious and we couldn’t have asked for better service or a better evening. Definitely get the Caesar salad, halibut, lemon sorbet, and blueberry pie. We will be back and would happily through an event there!
I absolutely loved my experience at Lundys! I was greeted with the most welcoming smile and the service was top notch. Coming from Long Island, it was definitely worth the trip! I highly recommend this family oriented restaurant to everyone!

We will absolutely be back!
simply amazing! i cant believe there is no line at the door. thank God they brought Lundy’s back. the food and atmosphere is great. you can tell the owners care about detail. and the food is spectacular. i have been back three times with different folks, family and business… everyone is blown away by the quality! thank you for the memorable experience. they really know drinks and cocktails also..: the wine is devine! .

Lundy's was great! Food was excellent and service was a delight. The night I went, they had live music, so that enhanced the experience. Also, I got a glimpse of the kitchen from the dining room, and it was clean and spotless. You could eat from the floor in there! They even gave us a free, yummy desert for our special occasion. Well done, Lundy's, well done!
Went in and place was half empty on Sat night. Wasn’t expecting the food to be this good. Brussels sprouts were cooked perfectly. Burrata came with what felt like old-oven bread and lightly dressed arugula. Crab cake was full of crab meat vs bread. My friend said it was best crab cake he ever had. Every plate was clean before picked up. On service, the waitress was very pleasant. Great stage in back which could be an amazing live music spot but apparently they only do on Mondays (not sure why only Mondays). Anyway, well done to the kitchen staff.
From the moment we walked in the door and were greeted by a lovely and cheerful hostess, we felt at home. I don’t recall names but I remember experiences and feelings in great detail; our server (tall+slender young man) had mind-reading abilities and impeccable taste combined with the easy speed of an athlete in bringing our orders. It’s about the food though, right? Brussels sprouts at Lundy’s made me a fan of a veggie I’m not always a fan of. Delicious spicy calamari. Linguini+clams with theeeee best perfectly-salted buttery sauce with I have had in ages across 3 countries. A chocolate dessert served with coffee ice cream. Don’t let Lundy’s location (a long drive for me) prevent you from paying a visit. You’ll be glad you did.
Wow!!! This place was perfect. The atmosphere was great. The food very tasty one of the best steaks I've had in a long time. The crab cakes and deviled eggs was fresh. The drinks were strong how we like it. The staff made sure we were ok and very friendly. We had a reservation and we were a little late they were very understanding. This will definitely be my new place to eat. Perfect night perfect place for me and my partner.

Its not the original lundy's in terms of menu or food. The menu is narrower but the food is far better. Cool old time vibe. Should be more popular.
Really great to have this venue. Food was good (chicken, burger although the bun was a bit meh, shrimp cocktail, bisque, stuffed clams, Caesar, pear salad, roasted carrots - they should switch the too sweet ricotta for a sharp goat cheese) but service was a bit new / rusty while very attentive borderline too attentive. Will try again once the opening quirks have been worked out
The menu and food were both exceptional. We had the roast chicken and linguine with clam sauce and raw oysters for our app. If you find yourself in Red Hook then make it a point to go to Lundy's.
This place merits a second visit to get the five stars. Our steak was perfect and mashed potatoes were literally creamy. The bacon made brussels sprouts were perfect!
Lovely dinner. We really enjoyed the cocktails and appetizers. The lobster and steak were also outstanding. My salmon was overcooked, and I should have sent it back but it was still a tasty sauce (cream and capers.) desserts were enjoyable too.

A smaller attempt at the old Lundys. Same biscuits, tho much smaller, great clam bisque...fewer dinner options. Ok..but not great
We have dined at Lundy’s twice since it opened in December and always enjoyed the experience. So we decided to invite friends to join us there to experience Lundy’s By the end of dinner we had to apologize for the restaurant We were seated immediately but only three of us received a menu - we had to ask for a fourth menu. We then realized the menu we received was incomplete. Someone else came along to give us another menu but instead gave us the liquor menu. In addition to the general menu they had a Special menu. I ordered the half lobster meal from the Special menu and was told they didn’t have any more lobsters- It was only 7:00pm on Saturday and they ran out of lobster. I then asked for gluten free pasta (they say Gluten free on the menu) and was told they don’t have gluten free pasta. I had to end up ordering a shrimp cocktail for an entree. About an half hour went by and our friends saw lobster dinners coming out of the kitchen. Our waitress never told us they had more lobster. So we asked to hold the cold shrimp cocktail and instead bring the lobster meal on the special menu (which was to come with sides) instead I received a half lobster on a plate and I had to purchase sides as extras I also raved about the biscuits to our friends but when they tasted them they were very salty and didn’t eat them. It was a very disappointing and expensive evening for which we ended up apologizing We will not be returning to Lundy’s too soon or at least until they get their act together.
We had a great time for family dinner on weekend afternoon. The service was very accommodating The atmosphere of the room provides a feeling of old school Brooklyn. They really try hard to make for a nice event. The food was good but not great. They offered a prix fix dinner but were out of appetizers and offered no alternatives (and we were there when the place opened. ) Two of us had the "famous" chicken dinner which was a bit bland. I think they are still working out some kinks of being a new restaurant. I can't wait to go back when they are in their groove
Let me start by saying my partner really likes this spot aside from the fact that a number of the dishes were flawed. The service was very good. The decor is odd although the tables are nice and big. The place has wonderful acoustics! We could hear! We both thought it was a 6/10 because of the food. He loved the potential of the menu as in there were lots of things we think we'd love on it. I agree. He loved the swordfish special For apps, the best dish was the Rhode Island calamari. Nice and crispy in a toss of cherry peppers and two sauces. The tomatoes in the heirloom salad were delicious with generous amounts of straciatella, but the unripe white peach was disappointment especially at the height of stone fruit season. The clam bisque was highly recommended to us by friends who'd recently eaten there. It has a nice creamy texture but it lacked clam flavor. My crab cake was gorgeous looking with lots of crab, but really salty and the remoulade sauce was also overly salty. Lundy's is old school with salt and pepper mills on the tables so customers can salt to their taste. The onion rings were limp. They use nice, huge sweet onion rings, but they were not fried until crispy. The sauce was tasty. The weirdest dish was the Lundy's potatoes. I'm a potato freak. I love them! I rarely find one I didn't like. These were strange tasting and wet. Not sure what they were going for. We're they supposed to be braised in sort of onion sauce? Not good.
Nostalgic restaurant with a bygone era feeling. The bar is fantastic and is reminiscent of the old days. The food is just basic without much seasoning. The chicken dish... House specialty was not very good. The potatoes were coated in an odd sauce. Salads were good and so was the Rhode Island calamari. The drive was very good.

Arrived for our 8:30 reservation at 8:25, the hostess told us she had to sit ‘Tom’ before us and left. We waited for this random guy to be seated 15mins with no explanation. Then they seated us right next to kitchen door swinging every 5sec. Couldn’t deal with the door swinging on my face and loud noise so we left. They did offer to change the table but the mood was ruined already. Maybe make sure you get a good table when you call for a reservation.
Travelled from out of State for Valentine's to visit and was pretty disappointed especially for the price. The service was definitely slow (as others had mentioned) and we were seated for about half an hour before the waitress came and greeted us. After watching for what felt like another eternity (as we had already eaten the two tiny complimentary dry biscuits) for our food order to be taken. The clam bisque, Cesar salad, Apple crumble, and butterscotch sundae were fantastic. The chicken however, was super dry and I never got the coffee I had ordered as at the 2 hour mark I was ready to get out of there...
First visit — Lobster Bisc was delicious, clams and oysters on half shell were fresh and cleanly shucked. The whole lobster (1.5 lbs) was well prepared but at $90 with no sides included was overpriced. An enjoyable and lively atmosphere added to a nostalgic experience as we always enjoyed the original in Sheepshead Bay - we are “oldies”. That was first visit - Second Visit with friends I touted the restaurant to was a disaster - it wasn’t until the third version was delivered that we received proper menu - drink order was delayed (we were told that the bartender was overwhelmed) - we ordered 2 of the lobster special when waitress later returned to say they had none but 10 minutes later another table got lobster and when asked they said lobster just arrived (on late Saturday evening?). We reordered but didn’t get the dinner- just a half lobster with sides we were separately billed- the entire evening was an exercise in futility- and as was the case that evening I don’t now expect any form of apology!
We went there because of the name of the place and previous fond memories of the original Lundy’s in Sheepshead Bay where many of our group grew up. We later discovered that this restaurant had very little to do with the other place. It wasn’t owned by the other family, but they did serve steak, seafood and the signature biscuits (which were stingily distributed one per person). The service was slow and heavy wooden tables were wobbling. When we asked to have something put under one of the table feet to even it out, they placed a napkin underneath, but when he saw that it still wobbled, he said, “that’s the best I can do.” We discovered on our own that we just needed to unfold the napkin a bit to make the table stop rocking. The outside of the restaurant is also a dismal sight, but we had a large group and no time to change plans so we stuck it out. I thought that many of the dishes were very expensive, but I may be out of touch with current restaurant prices. Also, since we had such a large group, we reserved in advance so we did not have to wait to be seated, but we didn’t see many others coming in on this Saturday evening. We will not be going to this restaurant again.
