Dinned with my husband for lunch yesterday and as always Ms. Lydia's service is excellent. We always sit in her section and she never disappoints. She know her customers and what we need before we ask! LOL If you are new to her section she quickly make a point to get to know you and your family. Great job Ms. Lydia, see you soon

I always come at lunch when I'm in the area working. The lunch staff here is a hard working bunch that are always friendly and go the extra mile for customers. The food is always on point and you can beat the price for the good food. Again the staff is so nice that when the elderly are in line, the staff will help carry their trays to their tables. Great job Lubys and I hope your boss's see this review.

MY FOOD WAS DELICIOUS!! I ordered chopped sirloin with onion and brown gravy, crab pasta, jalapeno corn muffin, pecan pie OMG and one more thing with a hi c drink. It was fantastic!

Got there real early and that southern fried fish was sooo good!! The fryer was ON today. The beans, cabbage, rolls, all of it was on point. I normally go to the one in Addison, but I just happened to be doing some business in Lancaster today. I'm glad I got me a to go plate!! Update May 2025 Went back for the southern fried fish special with greens and cauliflower. Chefs kiss. This is the the best one I've ever been to.

The best part of my visit to Luby’s was the great customer service. Everyone was pleasant and very friendly! Kudos to the staff and management!

I came here to get my favorite cheesecake, it was dinner time so the line was a little long. I finally get to the register and the kind gentleman behind me paid for my slices of pie. Everyone here is so nice, food is great too!

Today wasn't about me, it was about CHASE, I was blessed to be able to see him be focused on his customer, not worried about rushing them, to get to me, he fully serviced the person in front of me, which is why I'm actually doing the review, great job Chase hopefully you will be recognized for exceeding customers needs.

I love all the variety Luby's has to offer. For my personal taste, fried fish is the bomb diggity. It never disappoints. The only down side about Luby's is that there are so few of them left. I now have to drive an hour and a half to get to the closest one. I sure wish they would open one in McKinney.

Enjoyed Ourselves..Did Go On A Sunday after Church and Of Course it Was A Line and Crowded but That Was Expected. We Move Right Thru. The Time n Wait Was Not Long. Plus It was 9 of Us. The Servers were Friendly and Our Food was Delicious. The Cafeteria was Clean and Our Waiter was Helpful.

The corn soup was delicious and the vegetable medley was seasoned very well. I also had the stuffed salmon and cabbage which was also delicious. I love this Luby's. The food is always good and the selection is nice. They have a good blend of seasoned servers and cooks withheld nice home style etiquette. Then there are the younger servers who are super polite, eager and they have good manners. Oh, and I love the fact they're social and smile a lot. Now, some days the lines get long and seasoned workers aren't known for their speed. But with a little patience, you'll leave with a full stomach because the serving size is plentiful.

BEST …. COLD SALAD…. MIXED VEGGIES …. EVER…. I’m a local vegetarian and it was not lost on me when I started to work nearby the tasty veggie options at this location. I’ve been in no less than 8 times and all 8 every single worker is super duper friendly. I’ve been served cold salad mixed veggies by 2 different very efficient and bubbly and outgoing women possibly in their 70s. Great service. All the way down to the friendly young cashiers who treat the elderly regulars like royals. Vegetarians like me are thankful🙏🏾🙏 Thank you Lubys. You’ll see me again. It’s delicious 😋

Luby's macaroni and cheese has always been one of my favorite foods. As long as I can remember. I have fond memories of visiting the Town& country location with my Mama and Grandma as a child. I keep this memory alive by visiting and taking my kids to Luby's. And Luby's. Mac and cheese is a family favorite!!

Came with my boyfriend’s family after a funeral and it was good! We stood in a very long line at the beginning and lemme tell you, I’ve never seen such a horrible display of employee abuse! Those staff members who get the food for you did fantastic with how people talk to them. They are mostly the reason why I’m giving four stars. The food is good too! I loved the potatoes and macaroni with the baked chicken. I got cobbler for dessert which I thought was blackberry but it was cherry. So sweet it gave me a headache. Our waitress was very limited. She did not give refills or take any dishes from our table. Really my only big complaint is the bathrooms! Nasty! Only two stalls. One toilet seat was covered in piddle. There’s two sinks but only one towel dispenser wedged on the wall by one sink so it’s impossible to get a towel when someone is using it.

It has been along time since I been here and I can say that the food was 👌. I can say that the waiter Wendell was very nice and had very good hospitality. He made sure that I was ok which I did have a problem with my green beans he made sure that I was 😊 with my dinner. I ordered the fried fish with green beans and mac and cheese along with a salad.

A wide variety of choices and comfort food items. You can get a balanced meal without the wait like in a restaurant. The staff is friendly and personable. I've always liked Luby's from way back. Serving breakfast might be a good option. The Mockingbird location, now closed, had that option, and I was grateful for it. Especially being a bachelor and not feeling cooking. The ONLY negative I have is the food temperature. The food has been Luke warm to almost cold here at this location. Requiring asking the server for a zap in the microwave. Luby's is still close to my heart even tho the temperature thing is an easy fix.

Food was great. Service was awesome. The line was long and it took about 15 minutes to get from the door, through the line and to the register. Time we sat down, out food was cold. Granted it was a freezing day outside mid thirties. Inside felt liked it was 65. Just needed more heat. Great selection.

I was in there Friday afternoon and lunch was good. The food was good no complaints. But my review today is about the service. Rochelle was my server and I have to tell you as a former restaurant employee. I was watching her work and it really was a joy to sit in her section. She was extremely attentive and always talked to people in a very caring manner. I want to say that I appreciate the attitude and the energy that she brought to work today. May she and her coworkers stay blessed looking forward to the next time I come in. Take care of her because she definitely takes care of all of us. 🙏🏽

I pre ordered for take out. It said ready by 1845. I walk in at 1845 to the area with signage to indicate to go orders. I stood there with no one saying a word or coming to area for 15 minutes. I then call them only to be put on hold. I venture to other area of service no help no one says a word. Eventually a lady comes and asks can I help you, u told her what I needed and she said oh you go the front for that. Then she walks to register in to go area and pulls my order ticket from the register no one was monitoring. No one ever came back to phone while I was holding so I hung up. I went to the front and watched her take my ticket to a server who only then started my order. I waited another 20 minutes to get my order. 1 hr from when my order was placed, the online portal told me my order was ready. They were not busy, very slow as far as other customers there. I will not go back, and not recommend.

I stopped at this location on my way home, and I have to say that the food was not only fresh and delicious, but the customer service from one particular employee, Roselle, was outstanding. She was warm and inviting, making me feel like part of the family. Roselle was extremely helpful, and I noticed how well she interacted with other customers; you could tell they were regulars who loved her. I live two hours away, but I would definitely drive back to this location just because of the amazing service she provided.

First time to a Lubys. Ordered the roasted chicken plate. The chicken was a good portion and boneless. It was a bit dry and avg flavor. The server was very friendly and attentative. It was very spacious and easily can handle a crowd.

I decided to drive after church service to pick up two meals . One was for Thanksgiving. Upon my arrival the line was out the door for the to go meals. I quickly left the line and went inside . This is my first visit . The line was long also for those planning to eat inside but they also allowed to go orders . The line steadily moved but took over 20 minutes before I reached the counter to make my request for my to go meals . First plate order was roast chicken 🍗 leg and thigh with mashed potatoes and broccoli 🥦 rice casserole. I forgot to ask for gravy on the side . My Thanksgiving meal was a few thick slices of turkey that were moist thankfully since I totally forgot about gravy mashed potatoes, black eye 👁 peas 🫛 and cornbread dressing. The food was decent and lasted for about two meals each. I also picked sweet tea for my beverage . It was too sweet which I didn't enjoy had to toss it down the disposal when I returned home safely. Almost forgot showed my id and received a military discount as a Navy veteran a 25% savings

Liver was too tuff and too thin, also drinks and desserts were too expensive.

Food is good most of the time but sometimes the meat is overcooked and drying out before you eat it.

Food has not been hot the last couple of times we have been there.

We stopped by on our way home. I just grabbed a salad and hubby had the Luann Platter. It was pretty good. The employees are still wearing masks. Everyone was courteous. The dining room was open, but it was pretty empty. They also didn't have the TV monitors on.

This is the Luby' s on interstate I -35 .The service was wonderful, staff was great and the food was very good. Restaurant was clean. Went into the restroom and it's like I went into another building. There were adult diaper on top of the trashcan. Feminine pads on the floor, paper towels all on the floor and sink Urine smell took over the room.Floor sticky with urine. Trashcan was too small to accommodate the trash. Tissue holder was to low to get the tissue out.

This is the worse location I've been to and I'll never go back. It smelled like old urine, wasn't well kept. The line staff seemed is someone had a rifle forcing them to work. I have never been to Luby's and not saw any protein I wanted. I picked something and brought most of it home. Today potatoes were good though. We did have a happy energetic server that was very helpful. He wasn't enough to make me ever go back. This place needs remodeling and better management.

The service was nice and people were friendly. The sides were seasoned well, I had black eyed peas and cabbage. The entrè, very disappointing, blackend chicken with shrimp. The chicken was dry & hard, they were nice enough to give another one but it wasn't much better. I also got the jalapeño cornbread which was dry as a bone. I haven't been to Luby's in so long, I'd try it again only cause of the service and sides. Maybe suggest the best entrè.

The Meat Servicing line employee-- tall, medium-thick built, black woman, was Not very friendly, & seemed irritated; the Vegetable & Bread Server-- petite height, small-petite body frame, cute, Hispanic young lady, was very Nice, courteous, respectful, & professional; the Cashier-- tall, slender-built, black young man, was very Nice, friendly, polite, courteous, respectful, and professional. I didn't enjoy my meal, in lieu of the rancid, nasty-tasting, Blackened Chicken, which also tasted of old/stale, chicken-washed Water!!! In addition to the Cabbage... there was too much of the cut, hard-core pieces, in my serving!!! I also could do w/out the potatoe skin/hull, whipped/stirred into the Mashed Potatoes ... wish there was an option (with, or without), so I wouldn't have to pick out!!! The knock-off, German Chocolate Cake was good & moist - also the Jalapeno Cornbread was great!!! What you see in my uploaded Photo (if attch'd)..., was food not enjoyed, eaten, & waste of my moni!!!

This was my 1st and last visit to this establishment. The servers are preoccupied with their attitudes and the atmosphere was very dodgy. I was warned about the experience but I went to, grab a bite, see it for myself and patronize a local business. But this place was something else. The food looked okay, tasted alright but was very off temperature, I had the coldest "ribeye" which was mostly fat in Texas, the mushiest red potatoes and even colder cabbage while the manager continues to point and demand more Jello. After I reached my table the woman tending to the area actually greeted us and asked if there was anything we needed, so far the best experience this place offered. I was warned, and I went anyway so I can leave the review knowing that I paid for it. I hope they can get a new wind and make this a better eating experience for the area.

What an experience. Ive been going to this exact location for 10+ years and this most recent visit was unbelievable. There were no clean trays to use, no clean utensils and a lot of confusion behind the line. Many of the food items were out of stock, I ordered liver and onions- the liver was overcooked ( to the point the plasticware we were given could not even cut through it (pictured below) and there were no sautéed onions- however raw onions were tossed on top after being taken from another dish. Asked for coffee as a drink and was told " we dont have coffee" although the coffee machine was directly behind checkout. The most surprising thing was the manager. He sat at the first table behind check out watching the evening staff struggle during my entire visit without helping once. When I asked to speak to him for a complaint, he offered to get us new food- went behind the counter to realize the new plate he grabbed was dirty, still no sautéed onion and immediately stormed into the kitchen. During all this another table actually got their meal comped because of having A BUG in their food. I feel terrible for the staff this past Saturday, the entire place was a mess because of his lack of leadership.

It’s a first time for everything. The best thing I had was fried chicken everything else on my plate was no good. The hot sauce was watered down it just was not a good experience for $18. The chocolate cake was okay. That was really the best think I had from there.

Really not even sure why Ashley is a manager! Her attitude and service was beyond poor after I received uncooked food. No empathy or common courtesy that even a 8 year old would have…. I hardly make reviews but this had to be known!

Tried to use curbside again, which never works. I texted my parking number to let them know that I was there, waited about 20 minutes. No one responded, I stopped an employee who was going on break to ask if she could assist with my order. She checked inside and my order was not ready and they didn’t have any of the food that I ordered. She helped me with a new order, this process took about 45 minutes of my time. The crazy part is I got a text message at 7:30 saying that my order was ready. Why have curbside if your customers are not able to use it.

I went there to go and eat on 13 April at 5:09 PM and service was really horrible there was so many people there in line by the time I got my food and sat down at the table my mashed potatoes were cold my chicken was dried out the only good thing out of this was the pecan pie the pecan pie was good but I was at my table for about a good 22 minutes before a waitress came by and asked me if there was anything else I needed on the side where I was sitting there was only four people sitting in front of me she kept going back-and-forth to their table but never once looked at me until I mentioned excuse me can you please get me some salt

I went to Luby’s in DeSoto to buy dinner, a lady was in line in the restaurant with a white pit bull dog. He was licking the floors by the serving counters, totally turned my stomach. I did not want to step in dog saliva while getting my food. I did not want food where a dog was smelling into the food on the line and licking the floors. . I asked the manager if he knew the dog was in the restaurant, in that , that breed of dog is know for his violent and unpredictable attacks and was licking the floors by the serving counters and smelling into the food on the line. I was afraid to get in line. He stated the dog was a service dog and had been in there before with her. I asked him had he seen her paperwork he stated no, stated it was against the law for him to question her. I left the store without making a purchase, I did not want food where a dog had been licking the floors.and smelling into the food on the line. I did not want to be attacked in line. Obviously the manager did not know that difference between an Emotional Support Dog and Service Dog. I would take my concerns to cooperate.

The broccoli rice and cheese was not fit to eat and the Mac and cheese was so watered down. Get someone else in the kitchen to cook those two items please and thank

I had never been to a Luby's before and I seriously doubt I will ever go back to one especially this particular one. When we got there they had started putting lunch items on the line but still had breakfast out. It was 10:50 AM and no one at all bothered to tell the people in front of us or anyone in my party that if we ordered the AYCE breakfast that it wouldn't actually be AYCE because they had stopped cooking all breakfast items five minutes prior to our actual purchase. That should have been stated at time of payment. The food was good, well, except for the supposed hash brown I posted a picture of. I had drank almost all of my tea before my glass got turned around and I saw the nastiest stream of white residue...I hoped it was on the outside of the glass but it wasn't. I ran my finger down the inside and it was a greasy mess. I told the waitress she brought me a to go cup of tea but I couldn't drink it how can I trust what was on the I side of the tea tank. I couldn't eat another bite. She took my glass and showed a manager. The waitress came back and asked how we paid I told her by credit. She said and I quote with hand stretched out "let me have your card." That's all she said. No explanation. I asked why and she said the manager was going to refund my meal. We gave her the card. A tall guy returned the card, I'm guessing he was the actual manager. He handed the card back, again no explanation as to what he did with the card. He did say "I checked all the other glasses and it looks like the glass you got was the only bad one" but after reading other reviews I seriously doubt that. Before we left my husband went in the bathroom 3 seconds later he came out shaking his head. He said it was filthy his shoes were actually sticking to the floor. Please do not respond to this asking me to go to your survey so that my opinions, my experience can be ignored. My reviews are listed in public for a reason: as a warning to others. For the safety of others, I can only hope you get a visit from the health department today.

The sad part about it is the food was hot while we was on the line and by the time we made it to our table which was only maybe a minute or two the food was cold And everybody that was working on the line serving the food seem to have an attitude and no disrespect but I can honestly say I see why they have 3.9 star review

We visited this Luby's today. The service was absolutely AWFUL. The food was cold, the rolls were injury hard. Our area was extremely nasty, and the worker a "Spanish lady in her 50's just kept walking by the mess instead of cleaning it up. No WORRIES we will never make this mistake again. At least NOT at this location.

Horrible please don’t ever go here I wish I could give 0 stars, I couldn’t even force my kids to eat it then the server brought us a fresh pork chop that wasn’t done to replace the old one we preceded to tell the GM Timothy about the food and he was extremely rude and nasty and talking over me and was mad that I was telling him about how nasty the food was I would never go here again even if I won free food here for a year I would never eat here again

We usually like eating here but our food was ice cold. When we told the manager he called a waitress over to handle it. He did not take care of us. I was truly disappointed. It is aleys dark in the dining room as well.

Ordered online, took nearly an hour after arriving to get the food which was cold. Staff unapologetic and only excuse was " we are understaffed" like that's my problem . Food was inedible and even our order was wrong

With no line I still waited 10 minutes for a salad. The servers were rude and couldn't hear very well, repeated what I wanted 3 times. This place was filth mold all around fountain drink machine. Mold around the base of just about everything. The tables and floor was nasty and there were no people inside eating. Everyone including the manger was standing around laughing and doing nothing..If you can lean you can clean. The pregnancy cravings made me stay...and waste 22.04

I’m not quite sure who the manager is (Joe Clark) but he’s terrible I went to enjoy Sunday dinner with my family today and was so distracted by the terrible service not only from the children on line but from the management . He spent the whole time I was there yelling at the poor children. That’s not effective that’s was him trying to lead he acted like a dictator. I had to request our plates be warned because the food temperature was basically cold there was no ice or silverware my sides were served in styrofoam to go containers. He definitely needs to be evaluated if not removed.
