When I lived in Houston Dam's was one of my weekly stops. Was not sure how this one would fair, but to my surprise equally great. Prices, food (could use more seasoning) and service are all great. Highly recommend for everyone.

I ordered the grilled tilapia salad, and it was huge. One box contained the two giant pieces of tilapia seasoned great. The salad was in the second container which was also very large. Great portion sizes for the price. I will go back to try other items on the menu.

Dan's on Polk St. I order the whole catfish and a pound of the shrimp boil. My fiance and I got our order to go and once we got home we ate and everything was hot, fresh and delicious. We were both surprised at the size of the shrimp and that sauce that it was soaked in was "oh so good." We plan on going back very soon.

Me and my kids frequent this spot a lot but yesterday before I went to work I stopped by to see if they had crawfish. They indeed had a sign on the speaker that said live crawfish so I ordered 1 pound along with the shrimp and potatoes. The crawfish was 15.99/lb. That was a little pricey but I paid for it because that’s what I had a taste for and I’ve had their crawfish several times last season and it has been good. I was highly disappointed to find out when I started eating, it was frozen. It taste like straight cardboard. The only reason I didn’t give them a 1 star was because everything else was good and customer service is always top tier but I probably won’t get the crawfish again being that you don’t know if they are just trying to make a sell so they say it’s live and it’s really not or if it’s really indeed live. I was just very irritated with this experience.

Usually my family has been going to this Dan's like once a month since I arrived to Dallas last year in mid November, to get dinner and usually we would enjoy our meal. But a couple of days ago my mom she buys dinner for everyone. But the next day she gets a stomach ache, as well as my sister and as well as my niece. I was fine though but they were genuinely throwing up and was sick for like a day. So today my sister calls the Dan's back to speak to a manager or something. But whoever she spoke to being the cook or something told her it was a personal problem when not only she got sick but my mom and niece a day later after eating the food dinner that night. I'm highly disappointed and was a fan of this restaurant before getting such poor service. :( I still have faith that this restaurant can come back from this so for this I'm leaving a three star review.

Do not order the gumbo unless you want a celery, bell pepper, shrimp and chicken soup. The gumbo was watery and needed more flavor. The catfish nuggets were decent, but the batter was fried so hard that that's really all I could taste. I'm glad it had a good taste, but I would have really liked to enjoy the taste of the fish.

This was my first time visiting this establishment. The restaurant was clean and the customer service was great. I gave an overall 2 stars for the food because my fish was not thoroughly cooked and it was a big disappointment. Do better because things like this could cause serious issues with someone’s health.

Yesterday was my first time eating at this place & I was excited to try them after reading the reviews… I ordered the #26 with the fried rice and the #8 with fries for my sons. I was upset to taste what I did when I made it home. The fish isn’t real fish and is overly huge. The shrimp wasn’t fully cooked and had way too much breaded fat on the inside; the fries weren’t seasoned and the fried rice was a bit stiff. I ended up putting the food in the oven to finish cooking and it still wasn’t good so yesterday was my first and last time eating there! The daiquiri wasn’t even strong like they said it was & if anyone wants good quality Daiquiri’s in Dallas then go to Daq & Mag off Camp Wisdom!!!

Do NOT order spicy seafood boil unless you want your taste buds burnt to oblivion with no flavor!!!!!!! I used to get their here a while ago it was always go much garlic and lemon notes this time it was just straight spice and barely any garlic for any other flavor it made me through up and I am can handle a little spice

I went yesterday to take back fish I bought Friday and it were under cook in some places and fried hard ,they thin them down to make two slices out of one ,which make the inside not cook inside and the outside cooked to hard . and the rice I can't explain the flavor otherthan nasty. I had to put some salsa to give it a better taste . however the manager name Ann told ne to bring it back and I went yesterday 8-27-25 and she were very argumentative and raising her voice I ask her twice to lower her voice because I don't like attention it were people's inside.she were very rude,as I tried to explain what's going on, with the food she open it and with her bare hands tossing and slinging my gosh around inside the container, mind you I had eating off one of them .she don't know what germs is on it . and I had paid for my food and I ordered 1 beer and paid for it ,however I ask can I get 6 beers to go ,I was told yes, but I was trying to explain to her she charged me for 7, again she were very loud and argumentative. Fast forward she only given me 10.00 back for my 24.00 food and 15.99 for my beers fo the math . she counted how much food I eaten . I didn't finish the rice but she counted that as well. Beware of them handing money and going in the back cooking . that's cross contamination if they don't wash hands. I won't be going back there it use to be better, but they have changed for the worst .

Pure laziness!! I’ve never seen a salad so poorly prepared. There’s a WHOLE tomato on the salad. Why not cut it up? A thousand pickles, a little lettuce, cheap cheese and lettuce and a flimsy fork to try and eat it with. The meat came in a separate container (big slabs of chicken that could’ve been cut up) so trying to eat it is way more preparation than needed. A salad is not difficult to prepare. More toppings should’ve been offered in replace of a whole tomato. The guy that took my order was very dry and the place has an odor

First time visiting this place and I am very disappointed that I spent my money here! I thought they were going to be good especially since they had good reviews and on top of that had me wait in front of the restaurant for about 10 mins so I assumed that they were going to be fresh and delicious since it was a long wait but I was wrong! I ordered the 6 piece wings and they sucked! In my opinion the wings were very similar to the frozen Tyson wings that you find in the frozen section of the grocery store just a bit more fried and more sauce and seasoning added. The wings didn't come with any fries or a drink so be prepared to spend about $10 bucks for just wings. After eating just a couple of these wings it made me really sick. Lesson learned! Better off making your own food!
