Five stars... We love this place. One of the best Family owned restaurant in Downey. The owners are so nice and the food and drinks are outstanding. We love the Margaritas with Herradura Tequila, the mole and the quesedillas... We need to come back for the molcajete... We will be back soon!
Great place food drinks atmosphere Chuckie the bartender is awesome!
A must try. Been looking for a new fav Mexican spot, folks this is it. Good atmosphere, great drinks, phenomenal food. Like seriously great flavor. We ordered shrimp cocktail and crispy shredded beef tacos, all fantastic. Highly recommended. Coming from a foodie. 💯
We tried the chile verde. It had a nice smokey flavor to the chile. The tortillas were made only a few feet from us. They were also good! We will definitely be back.
Super authentic and delicious. Mariachi band was so cool.
One of the best, authentic #Mexican restaurants in LA County! From the handmade tortillas to freshly squeezed limonada...100%. Serving portions are huge, could be shared. #Margaritas are also legit, not shy with their tequila. #Micheladas, too! 🍺 #Brunch or dinner, be prepared to wait. No reservations ahead of time are accepted. You can walk in and try to get a table at the bar area, but loud and dark. A part of the parking lot was (permanently?) turned to a colorful patio, which is perfect for al fresco dining. Parking is a bit crazy and impatient crazy drivers tend to be aggressive and inconsiderate. Regardless, great #food makes up for it. 🇲🇽
Yesterday was our first time that my wife and I went to go eat at Gloria's Casina Mexicana. The service was good. The atmosphere was great food was amazing and our waiter Irwin excellent customer service including the rest of the team. Highly recommend to anyone who loves authentic Mexican food and handmade flour and corn tortillas.
Fun atmosphere. Good to watch games and listen to music. Food is decent
I’ll walk into Gloria’s and I meet Marisol. Very nice person respectable very good manners. Customer service🤗 great attitude. I’m so happy. She’s so helpful for me. I ordered chicken Caldo soup, and I asked her if they could blend it for me and she did it for me. I’m so happy and thank you for the cooks thank you owner too thank you all guys for everything. I appreciate it. I can’t wait to eat when my mouth is open. I’m gonna get all kinds of burritos and tacos from you guys. See you guys in three weeks🤣😎❤️❤️❤️❤️🤲
Amazing food, great service. Our flight was delayed so we ended up grabbing lunch and picked this place based on a Molcajete search. I was NOT disappointed. They had awesome fresh homemade tortillas and the food was spectacular. Our waitress was prompt and attentive and very quick with recommendations and allergies. Great stop for a good array of authentic food.
This is truly a must visit restaurant if you're in the area the food is unmatched period and the service like no other anywhere the atmosphere is simply awesome just visit you won't regret it
One of my favorite Mexican restaurants in Downey, CA. It’s a lively Mexican restaurant with authentic food, music, and the best margaritas. I recently took my family to brunch on Mother’s Day. I got the famous Molcajete. It was delicious and the tortillas were homemade. The tamarindo agua was spectacular!
Nice atmosphere with mariachis and good food. Great place to celebrate special occasions and to have good food
My 2nd home, awesome customers, great customer service, delicious food, always got my favorite alcoholic beverage cold and crisp. Recommend the Menudo, wett burrito, molcajete, anything but I always get them 3 items and items off the menu that are lowkey for us regulars. This was this morning, Dec 2022....added a Menudo plate served weekends, came enjoyed this delicacy with my Family best Menudo ever, December 31 New Years Eve!!! Best of all Love My Tortilla Lady, known her for very long years. Like Family, same quality food, alot of circle of Friends ive been knowing since 2006, superb Service, Clean and did I mention the Food! Posted this Menudo plate Dec 31 New Years Eve, ended 2023 here!
Authentic, local Mexican gem! Gloria’s Cocina Mexicana was a fantastic find! The best part is that it’s not touristy at all — a local friend recommended it, and when we arrived, the place was full of locals, which is always a great sign. The food was truly authentic Mexican cuisine, with huge portions and very reasonable prices. Everything we ordered was delicious and full of flavor. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, which made the whole experience even better. I would gladly come back again — highly recommended if you’re looking for a genuine local spot!
We had a family reunion, with my wife's side of the family, the food was great and service awesome, I highly recommend this restaurant.
By Far, the best Mexican Restaurant I've been to. The food is exceptional, the food has lots of flavor big portions, and the salsa is incredible, reasonably priced. The atmosphere is pleasant, and they even have an in-house Mariachi band. The service is fast and the employees are very nice and friendly. I would highly recommend eating here whenever you get the chance. 10/10, they have earned a loyal customer.
Fantastic place... love the look and food.
Stopped by Gloria’s with some friends and it hit the spot. Food was tasty, portions were solid, and the place had a nice, laid-back vibe. I’d come back for sure.
I stoped there with a friend I wasn't that hungry...but I had a bowl of the Aztec soup.... amazingly great .....
This place is always amazing. Handmade corn tortillas are readily available. Asada ala carta is the best and the chile Verde, The service from many of the staff is on point. Especially from Chabela, Jaime de America, Chocky and the most darling woman in the house, RosaLinda 😍 if you never been there stop and try it out. I guarantee you you'll love it.
Where do I start!? Gloria's is FANTASTIC 🤌👌 From the moment you walk in, you're greeted by every staff member that crosses your path. The atmosphere is like walking into your abuelita's casa, so home-like feel and warm welcoming. Our server was wonderful, the salsa and chips were delicious, my husband and I split a molcajete which was plenty for us as we noticed they had a bar and wanted to hit that up 🍻 The asada was juicy, chicken well seasoned and the red salsa inside the molcajete was 🤤🔥 THE BAR 😍😍 was beautiful, loved the decorations 🇲🇽 Our bartender was Isabel aka "Chavelita" and she was AMAAZZZINNGGGGGG ❤💯 Wonderful personality, recommended beverages, shared laughs with us and honestly made our first visit the best and of many to come! The drinks were on point and well made 👌 We can't wait to go back!!! Thank you Gloria's 👍
The food is very delicious and the prices are reasonable. They serve you plenty of food (if not a lot haha) and it leaves you satisfied. I ordered the Carne Tampiquena and a combo plate of chile relleno and an enchilada. The carne tampiquena came with two thick slices of well done carne, with ric, beans, a red enchilada, guacamole and poco de gallo. The tortillas are hand made and they are super good too. The house salsa is the best! I definitely recommend going there. The only thing that was not too good, for me, was the queso fundido with chorizo. The chorizo was really good, but I couldn’t say the same about the cheese.
If you have something to celebrate with your friends and family, please come to this place. You can enjoy authentic Mexican dishes. The price is reasonable but the wait can be long depending on the day and the time.
Recently went to Gloria's Cocina. The place was nice enough and food was pretty good; can't complain. My only complaint was the wait time. I almost ended up leaving but I figured I'd wait. I wish they would have given me a more accurate wait time. That said, I'd go again if i know I have plenty of time. The service wasn't too bad either.
I can’t say enough how much I love this restaurant. It is one of my most favorite. Go to for real Mexican food. My food almost always gets to me quickly, and I don’t have to wait long. The restaurant can be pretty busy, especially on the weekends, but all I can say, is, the food is definitely worth the price. This is my go to for fresh, hot Mexican food and I always leave full and with a smile on my face! Anyone who says differently is not telling the truth they serve the best damn food and I’m from Jalisco and I approve this restaurant 100.
We popped in for a post-golf feast last night, and let me tell you – this spot was the perfect choice! The vibe was super chill and fun, and the staff couldn't have been friendlier. We dove into a shrimp ceviche to start and then shared a combo plate loaded with soup, cheese enchiladas, chips and salsa, and a guacamole tostada with asada and chicken. Every bite was delicious, and the portions? Huge! Definitely enough for the four of us, and then some. We’ll be back for sure!
Definitely coming back to this spot! Food was delicious and big portions too. Wait time was around 25 mins or so. Service was fast and we didn’t have to wait too long for the food and drinks to come out. Prices were not too expensive either. On the other side they have a cantina which is for ages 21 and older. We got the carne asada fries, Chile verde plate, and the menudo. They also have Mariachi playing music.
Omg this Restaurant is the best ever. The entire staff are very respectful and polite and are always eager to assist the customers with whatever is needed. The food is very fresh and the presentation is mouth watering. I always tip not because I have too but because of the service given with a smile. ❤️ 🙏🏼
We were treated to a Nice Dining experience by our friend Rosa. Had to move to a wider booth, I'm a big guy. Typical Mexican restaurant with nice music selection Wife had Pozole. My mole was very delicious. Rosa our friend had the enchilada plate. Our beautiful server (forgot her name) was very nice. Will def back We also got a complimentary photograph. How cool! Thank you Gloria's Cocina

We come here for special occasions such as birthdays because it is a bit pricey. But the food is 10/10! On Fridays they have live mariachi (maybe weekends to not sure) and the restauraunt actually …
Great local for a nights night, or to come in for great food and drinks. Enjoyed my time, with live music playing, felt like I was in Mexico. Can't wait for the next girls night
This restaurant is located in a shopping center and parking is limited. I did visit at 1pm on a Friday and was able to find parking immediately. The hostesses and ambiance give that homestyle Mex…
They have great food it's clean inside it'd affordable prices I enjoy coming here really good food
The trumpet player of the mexican quartet blew out one of my eardrums playing that trumpet. I wanted to stuff a tamale in it (and I almost did). Other than that, the food was really good and the mints on the way out are out of this world. Recommend, but don't sit by the trumpet player... my ears learned the hard way.
so I have been here three times over the course of a year and I have to say they do some things great as well as some that are not-so great. With that being said I love the atmosphere I side! Fun live mariachi music on Thursday night which is a nice change of pace. All in all the food tastes great but if I had to say there one thing I don't like.... It's gotta be the salsa, I took a pic as reference... In all honesty I felt like the salsa was the consistency of the bottom of a open jalapeno can. Literally can't get anything on the chip. I mean I'm not asking for pico de gallo by any means but not soup either. I would go back but clearly it is worth one refill of chips and salsa....is that on purpose?
Overall a cool spot with lively atmosphere and undertones of a quasi-club venue. The food is good but prices tend to be high relative to the quality and presentation. You cant serve a Prime cut on a paper plate with plastic utensils and still expect to charge premium prices 🤷 I will say this about the Tacos...super good! Healthy meat portion (I had carnitas) and tortillas hechas a mano are a great original touch. The Coctel de Campechechana on the other hand...mediocre. Relative to the price it left lots to be desired 🧐 Overall rated a four because service was on point and (my server at least) and friendly 😎
I nice Mexican restaurant variety of dishes... but people come here for the Molcajetes very delicious. Service was great considering we went on Mother's Day our girl stopped often to make sure we were alright. Prices are $$ , homemade tortillas and a full bar accompany this traditional building. Dining in is allowed right now and the wait was no more than 25 min
Went to Downey location on Florence Ave. New Years Day 2025. 12pm. I ordered the Chille Relleno Dinner at it there. Had a water (if it was tap I couldn't tell) chips and green salsa came to our table. This verde salsa had a "smoke flavoring" in it which is NOT my fave. The plate arrived almost cold. I grabbed my fork and poked it into the rice tried it, then the beans, then the Chile itself....a little taste of everything on my plate. All was BLAND needed flavor and salt. That's OKAY because there were 4 kinds of 🔥 hot sauces on the table for your choosing. I opted to ask the waitress for a side of cilantro..it was nice and fresh and I threw some atop my Chile Relleno along with some squeezed lime I took from my friend across the table!!!! YUM way better!
Very tasty and unique Mexican spot. The home made tortillas are delicious and the frijoles taste home made too. The food is fresh and the options are not common to most Mexican American restaurants. Definitely with the trip to give this place a try. The salsa is tasty. Some of the food came a little too salty.
My coworkers and I enjoyed an amazing molcajete mar, cielo y tierra, side of fries, and the many delicious Gloria's 🍹Margaritas 😋 super refreshing. Definitely food was great, super busy place, gets acquainted a lot by people, the atmosphere a little too loud but still manageable. However, the restroom of the place must get improved, too many ladies waiting in line after the many Margaritas for one Restroom. Great place too have a few mingles.
Really good food. I know Mexican. Carne asada and chik fajitas. Fajitas ok, everything else great. Never a fan of chopped up chicken fajitas. Grill as a breast, then slice please. Drinks were strong. Free chips and salsa. Sat in bar area with no waiting.
Been going there for a long time, pur last visit was like a year ago and yesterday we celebrated my moms birthday sunday.. We had to wait 45 min to get a table and another 15 mins to get a server which was disappointed, luckily the food drinks and food were fast. Food still taste good but im not sure of 1 hr is worth the wait. My down point was the bathrooms, I understand the popularity of the restaurant and how many people go in and out but the bathrooms were in really bad shape, smelled really bad, pee all over the floor luckily I only had to pee. For the amount of people that go eat there the bathrooms should be clean during the day at least 2 times. I will reconsider going there the next time
Bartenders are amazing and attentive. There's a sweet smiling lady making fresh tortillas around the corner from the entrance. Regular menu items (outside of lunch and happy hour) are large in portion, fresh, authentic, and worth the price. Blended margaritas are superior! Chips and salsa were fresh and hot and for the first time had green salsa instead of red which was awesome! Older lady taking orders with glasses not so pleasant. Same older lady taking our order appeared to be worn out from the lunch rush. She came to our table and said something fairly lengthy in Spanish and never returned. We didn't understand what she said which was confusing because our entire interaction previously was in English.
We were greeted with a nice hostess and a nice waitress we ordered 2 micheladas which were perfectly balanced in flavor as for the shrimp cocktail I got it was pretty good just that the cup they used to serve it was kind of annoying to scoop out the food other than that it was a great service
Came here during happy hour, unfortunately the music is way to loud. And that's an understatement to say the least. Waitress lacked the friendliness and kindness. I expected someone nice and talkative, not preoccupied and bland...... Came here again to eat, and it was quite good, very good portions and very friendly staff. Certainly come again.

Good solid mexican food with the best lemonade. The tortillas are made fresh. You can't go wrong with any of your choices from the menu.
Word of caution if you show up anywhere in the 11:00 a.m hour and there is a wait, you will not be able to order Chilaquiles if even 1 minute is past 12:00. Technically chilaquiles are not only a b…
Went here w a party of 17 this past Sunday and 9 of us had bad stomach issues on Monday. Yall need to do better in the kitchen.
The parking lot is larger than the place, and pay attention to your bill 15% tip is already added in. Burittos are served in foil paper with sald on the side. 14 of us went ask for break down of bill in 3, and they said couldn't do it. Waiter spill a drink on one of the 4 tables and made a mess.
The Carne Asada nachos with guacamole were huge and delicious. Enough for two to share. Cadillac margaritas with your choice of tequila (as a customer so kindly pointed out) were terrific. You will get the house tequila (👎🏾) if not. They told us no more orders could be taken after mine. Twenty minutes later they were seating people and taking orders still. The ladies sitting next to me told the manager (argued in Spanish) that I wanted to order more, but wasn't allowed after we put in our first order. Unless, we wanted to order double or triple at once. I’m happy the ladies were there because they seem to be regulars with some pull. So thank you my two angels 😇 😇 The night would not have been as great without them, the customers!
The inside of the restaurant is very pretty, I love the decor. The food was just ok. I didn't like the drink I ordered (I think it was a cinnamon coffee) so I wanted to order a coke, and my husband didn't get the tortillas that were supposed to come with his meal. After he brought our food we didn't see our server for about 15 minutes. We got his attention to let him know and he didn't come back to us till we were almost done with our meals. Very inattentive. I would have rather waited and had the hostess seat us in a section where the server could handle the work then to seat us where the server was clearly overloaded. We will not be back.
Gloria's has good Mexican food, plain and simple. BUT, often times is crowded. They have the dinning area, and the bar area, both you can order food. Fresh hand made tortillas. Parking is a little tight, so if it's packed, you might have a problem finding parking. Service is a little slow, and the attentiveness of the waitresses leaves one to question, how much they value their customers. The last time we came, my water wasn't refilled the whole time we were there. And I had to ask another staff member, other than our waitress, for another order of tortillas. And by the time, I received them, my food was already cold. The Chilaquiles don't come with eggs..Oh, but cleaning up the table of our finished plates, was at utmost importance, almost as if they wanted us out quickly. The food is great, but I feel they need to dial in their customer service-

Nice atmosphere, but I had a Cadillac Margherita that $16. Had very little alcohol. My friend got a bottle beer for $6.75. Pacifico. Nacho appetizer was $14. It was ok, not a big portion.
Horrible service very crowded. Food was not even great.\nToo crowded\nThe food was not the way I expected to be heard a lot of reviews, but from my opinion, I would never go there again

Chilaquiles were tasteless. Corn tortilla just dipped in sauce:(
Food is not good and I ask for a filete de tilapia and they gave me mojarra frita cause they didn't have filete who in the heck do that i talked to the manager and I don't know why she is working as a manager there she is rude nasty attitude THIS PLACE IS HORRIBLE
The girls who greet you and sit you down were very nice. The young man who asked for our drinks and brought them out was very nice as well. Now the lady who took our order and brought our food is who made this experience horrible. It's because of her I won't be coming back ever. You can't treat someone horrible throughout their eating experience, cut them off when ordering, seem bothered when asked about an item off the menu, not offer any more drinks, not ask if we want something but when we finally ask for the bill you try to compliment us for that tip? Does not work that way ma'am. Hope you figure out how your job works sooner rather than later.
The shrimp was old and tough to chew. The food was mediocre. The service was horrible. Waitress acted like she didn't know what I meant when I said I wanted an original margarita. They took forever to seat us, and the table was under a high ceiling light, and under was a fan, so it had a flicking effect that could make someone pass out. Go somewhere else. The only good thing I could say was that the drinks were okay, but the frozen margaritas could have been blended better.
Won’t be coming here again , rice and beans didn’t taste well . Also the meat 🥺
Food was amazing. Mariachi was very polite and plays amazing. One issue was one of the waiters was very rude and unprofessional. He was being disrespectful to my family and tried to charge us for something we didn't order. He made a mistake and still didn't apologize or correct it. I had to involve the manager to resolve the issue. This is why I gave one star because this was a huge problem for me. Disrespecting my family is a big no.
We were there yesterday with a party of 10 and we all got sick from the food. We had the carnitas, shrimp al mojo de ajo, ceviche tostada, molcajete, shredded beef burrito and kids nuggets. Also, not sure why we bothered to call them and let them know because all they said was "Well, we haven't received any other calls" Ummm, ok, thanks. See you never, and thanks for your terrible service
The music and ambiance was great. We sat at a table and the waitress was a bit rude. She said if we are not going to eat or order, then we cannot be there. I explained we were at the bigger table and tried to explain why we are there, and she gave us a hard time. When we walked away from the table for a minute, she cleared our table without saying anything. She cleared all of our food that was unfinished. When asked why, she said she will clear the table right away if no one is there because others need to sit down. There were lots of other tables available next to us. There was an issue with our bill in the end, and had an attitude about splitting the bill and said she couldn't do it. After speaking to the manager, she was still very rude and confronted me in front of the manager that he had to tell her to step away.
I'm debating if I should call the restaurant to complain that's how bothered I am. My daughter ordered pozole it was so old that the meat was almost black no taste... i moved on had her eat what was on my plate ( combination) I was ready to enjoy my food when the darn guacamole seems to be the instant powered it tasted so bad I couldnt enjoy anything on my place it ruined our entire dinner. I was so tired, since I worked 10 hour day I just wanted to check out asap
Second time eating at this place. Decided to give it a second chance. The food to put it bluntly is terrible. The service is good. Its a shame there isn't a real good Mexican Restaurant in Downey. Acapulco is better than glorias. I never post anything about a restaurant but I'm highly disappointed at this place. If you happen to like the food, I guess you havent ventured outside much. No knock on anyone but I wish a real Mexican place came along to show what terrible food is served here. Ordered chicken fajitas, a shrimp cocktail and nachos. A lemon water and horchata. Food was ordered to go. I took one bite of each plate and that was it.
I have been to this place many times before. My girlfriend loves the molcajete here. This time around when it came to the table the nopal and chicken were burnt and it was super dry. We expressed our complaints to the waiter and he said the that was the amount of caldo that comes with the molcajet. We notice the the molcajet was cracked all the way to the bottom which is were the caldo escape. We once agian we reported it to the waiter and were again dismissed. No effort was made to make things right. It was a total disappointment. Even though we spent 80 on the meal.
